1046 New Round up First Fornight February 2018

News Reports indicate that Leaders of the Communist Party of India are trying to prevent split of the Party, on the question of whether to have Alliance with Indian National Congress, or not. While the Former General Secretary Shri Sitaram Yechuri favors an Alliance with Congress, on the ground that it is essential to overcome the Communal Forces and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) ruling India, the present General Secretary and his Supporters insist that the Party has to maintain distance both from Congress and the BJP. Personally, ybrao-a-donkey views that it will be better if CPIM splits, and both the new Offsprings become Active so as to be ready to face the 2019 Elections.

Splits are not new to Communist Movements in India

Ever since the major first split of 1964, when the United Communist Party of India got split into CPI and CPI (Marxist), on the question of whether to support USSR & Mrs. Indira Gandhi on one side, or to support China and Mao de Zong on the other side, the Indian Communist Movement had undergone several splits.

CPI preferred to support the USSR (Russia) and Mrs. Indira Gandhi. CPIM preferred to support China and Mao, and relatively more militant approach. CPIM had strength in West Bengal, Kerala and Tripura. CPI's strength was geographically scattered in the entire India, and consequently, it could not come into power in any State, except as a Member of a Left Front. Gradually, with the death of veteran members and with few new Youth Admissions into the Party taking place, CPI lost its strength.

CPIM ruled West Bengal for three decades, and during the period it became more bourgeoisie and lost its Leftist Spirit. Finally, it surrendered itself to the demands of Industrial Houses like Tatas, started harassing small farmers in the name of Industrial Development, while its Opponent Ms. Mamta Banerjee's Trinamul Congress wooed the Peasants and Laborers, and routed out the Left Front from Bengal.

Since the 1964, during the five decades, more militant members of CPIM left it, to form further more militant, somewhat violent outfit Movements such as Naxals, Maoists, of various hues. They believed that Communist Revolution can be brought into India only with the barrel of a Gun. They mobilised Funds from Forest and Other Contractors, purchased Arms, attracted innocent Tribals into their Movements, killed some landlords, killed more Villagers in the name of Informers, and gunned down / blasted out hundreds of Policemen. Finally what happened? Central and State Governments were made to spend billions of Rupees on Police Forces, Vehicles, Copters and Helipads, Arms and Ammunition, Payments to Informers. Police too killed thousands of Naxals, Maoists, and Villagers on various pretexts during genuine and fake Encounters. Did the Professed Revolution come? Na. Could the Government annihilate the Naxals and Maoists completely? Na.

Are the CPI and CPIM truly self-introspective?

When compared to the Bourgeoisie Parties, Communal Parties, Dynastic Parties, Regional Parties, the CPI and CPIM may be more self-introspective. But it is only partially true. Both the CPI and CPIM do not have adequate internal democracies. They just make semblances of Introspection. But, real introspection never takes place.

Example: Was it a blunder, not to permit Late Jyothi Basu become Prime Minister of India, when a slight and vague opportunity arose in 1990s?

That step could not be termed as a blunder. At the most, it might have been a minor error. May be a minor error, which might have been based on foreseeabilities of ponderables. Had Late Jyothi Basu formed a Government at Centre, and become Prime Minister, believing that Congress would genuinely support him, he might have been disposed off, quicker than the time taken for the disposal of Messrs. Charan Singh, Deve Gowda, I.K. Gujral and Chandrasekhar. Reason: Congress and BJP were never accustomed to play a second fiddle for long periods. They are like maneaters which having tasted human blood will never compromise for anything lower. Congress and BJP want power at any cost. Mr. Jyothi Basu and the CPIM might have had to face disappointments and humiliations. All those ignominies were averted by the CPIM of that time, and Jyothi Basu was saved from his catastrophic political collapse.

Question: If CPI and CPIM do not, in unison with Congress and Regional Parties, make a United Fight against BJP, in the 2019 General Election, BJP will again come to Power.

This may happen. But, it can also happen even if Left Front supports Congress. Besides, after winning, Congress may continue with Soft Hindutva exhibited by Rahul Gandhi recently, old habit of appeasing Minorities, the same bourgeoisie policies and practices of the Congress-BJP ilk Crony-Capitalism. CPIM should not forget that Manmohan Singh, Ms. Sonia Gandhi and Congress ditched the CPIM in 2009.

Question: Do you want perpetuate the Rule of Mr. Narendra Modi?

Ans: Though it is by-and-large true that People of India and its States are vexed with both Congress, BJP, and Regional Parties like Samajvadi, BSP, RJD, Anna DMK, TDP, YSRCP, TRS etc. etc., they do not see CPI or CPIM as alternatives for the bourgeoisie Parties. They still prefer the Bourgeoisie Parties to the Left. May be because Bourgeoisie Paries throw more Currency Notes, more liquor, and cater more to their demands like Ration Cards, House sites, Health Cards, Reservations. Not to lag behind, Left Parties too tried these offers, but they could not match with he bourgeoisie parties.

Left Parties erroneously believe that their votes can be transferred in favor of Congress, and vice versa. But it is wrong. If Left Parties ask their sympathizers to vote for Congress in Constituency 'X', expecting that Congress will ask their Voters in Constituency 'Y' to vote for CPIM, will it really happen? A true Left sympathizer may not take money for his Vote. Yet, he may not vote for Congress. Such voter may not go to the Polling Station at all, or may prefer NOTA. A Bourgeoisie Party's Voters can get tempted because they do not have any ideological compulsions. Even Religious Beliefs cannot work as glue to bind them to their Parties. Consequently, Congress Voters can sell their votes for money, and vote for the Candidate whoever pays them.

Question: Do you mean to say that Left Parties should not Unite?

Ans: Communist Parties believe that there should be one United Leftist Party, fighting numerous Bourgeoisie Parties. On the other hand, I believe that there should be at least two very Active Leftist Parties contesting Elections with one another in every Constituency, relegating bourgeoisie parties to oblivion. That means CPI and CPIM can contest with one another. Similarly if CPIM splits, CPIM(1) can contest with CPIM(2). Voters should have choices in selecting and electing a Communist / Marxist / Socialist Party. If Communist Parties artificially unite, this will not happen. Voters will have One Communist Party and numerous Bourgeoisie Parties in the arena. Then those voters who are unhappy with the Monopolyist Artificial Communist Party will vote for the bourgeoisie party. Hence, let there be Natural competition among Leftist Parties in the Election. In fact, this is the meaning of 'Dictatorship of Proletariat'. The essence of this idea is: If all the Communist Parties belong to the Working Class, electing Working Class Persons as their Leaders, and bulk of the Population believes that they belong to the Working Class, then a true Ballot Revolution will take place. This may appear to be Utopian. Whether Utopian or not, correct things have to take place. In Telugu language, there is a proverb 'navvina nApa cElu panDavA?' (English meaning: While onlookers continue laughing, even stony soils will yield good harvest [provided hard work is done]).

988 Musings and observations on some important subjects

Ms. Brinda Karat is Polit Bureau Member of Communist Party of India (Marxist), India. She has a reputation of being a Senior and sincere CPM Worker. It's all so good. But, what I wish to highlight is, that she cannot speak like Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, and President of the Aam Aadmi Party, who is now facing a defamation case for some crores from Mr. Arun Jaitley, Hon. Finance Minister, and is in a quandary on how to pay the hefty fee of his counsel Shri Ram Jet Malany, amounting to Rs. 3.4 crore (Rs. 34 million) from the Delhi Exchequer. In India, these days are very hard days, for the Opposition Leaders. In Telugu language spoken by 100 million people across the world, there is a proverb: "urumu urimi mangalam mIda paDi naTlu' (Approx. English: The thunder thundered, and fell on the kiln for making popped grains (similar to popcorn). This proverb is used when some misfortune befalls on a person or a thing, who/which is not much connected with the falling object. Context: Right now, the concentration of our Hon. Prime Minister, our Hon. Finance Minister, and the BJP President, is focused on hardnut-to-crack challengers like Arvind Kejriwal, and Ms. Mamata Banerjee. Our BJP trio seems to expect that Ms. Mamata Banerjee will take care of controlling the resurrection of CPIM in West Bengal. Ms. Brinda Karat is reported to have commented as under, while speaking at the "Meet the Press" Program organised by Telangana Working Journalists Federation, Hyderabad on 20th May 2017.

Quotes from Relevant Links

What Ms. Brinda Karat is reported to have said=====yb-a-donkey=====
"...Party plans to increase women membership from the present 16 per cent to 25 per cent. Membership in the CPM is not the one like “missed call ...” BJP has a separate parent organisation called RSS, and they educate BJP Workers, whatever that 'education' may mean. BUT CPIM cannot train its workers just to carry huge party flags, and get beaten by police with batons in processions Rallies, and dharnas. What is the use of having workers who will be ready to receive lathi (baton) blows, but who cannot convince their neighbors to vote for CPIM, without giving Rs. 1,500 per vote, and a liquor bottle? Stress should more be on votes and ballots, rather than flags and processions.
"...Modi government waived the Rs 72,000 crore bank loans of Adani group companies while waiver of loans for the entire farmer community in the country was Rs 75,000 crore. In the last three years, waiver of bank loans to the corporate sector touched Rs 6.8 lakh-crore. 70 per cent of loans waived were of corporates..." Though this allegation may be factually correct, Ms. Karat has not given any details such as Names of the major borrowing Adani Companies, Names of Banks, Names of amounts. CPIM should have a data bank of this type on its website, to enable its leaders as well as public to have a look at the method of defaulting. Else, there will be risk of facing unnecessary defamation suits, and other court cases. In Telugu language, there is a proverb 'rAju talucukunTE debbalaku koduvA? Approx. English: If the king wills (and orders), can there be scarcity of blows? Implication is that: kings may not bestow gifts, but he can shower baton blows.
"...Gau rakshak dals in the BJP-ruled states were targeting Muslims and Dalits. CPM was also being targeted..." CPIM cannot be like Congress and some other Regional Parties which are bent upon building Muslim and dalit vote banks. Though cow-protectors have become militant, prevention of cow, buffalo, camel, miltch-animal slaughter in the long run, makes India a gentler and nobler Nation, because cruelty to animals gets reduced. Beef, and some other meats which are being sold now in shops, and served in hotels, lack quality (quality neglected by everybody with eyes on profits), and such foods become 'rAjasa, tAmasa' Aharams. (Foods which make people arrogant, easily irritable, blood thirsty). When these foods get coupled with liquors, persons lose their self-control, and they will not hesitate to indulge in rapes, murders, tortures etc. CPIM can, NOT ON RELIGIOUS GROUNDS, but on SCARCITY OF RESOURCES grounds, try to convince people of all castes and religions to exercise some self-control in consuming beef.
"...There has been nothing to boast about in Modi’s three-year rule. It’s a rule of deceit. Modi promised 2 crore jobs but failed. All he managed was 2.3 lakh jobs. Due to problems in IT sector, we may lose 6 to 10 lakh jobs in next 4/5 years. ..." People will know that whatever our Hon. Prime Minister and our BJP President promise are Election jumlas. But, people may not vote only in response to promises. Cash and Liquor, of course religious bigotry and fanatism, seem to be stronger than promises. Making unfulfillable promises, knowing them to be unfulfillable, is a trait of all political parties in India. Still, I wish that CPIM promises to people more hard-to-fulfill things like Removal of Private Property, Removal of Currency, State Capitalism, Treating every citizen as a Government Employee etc.
"...Centre has failed to handle the Kashmir issue and asserted that it needed a political solution. ..." POlitical solutions may not work in Kashmir, because the militancy and terrorism in Kashmir, is propelled by money and men from not only Pakistan, but many other Gulf and Middle East countries. Military Action on POK is an important solution, even if it may be disastrous both to India and Pakistan.

Topic No.2. With no intent to hurt the sentiments of devotees and scholars

After studying the 'kalyANotsavam' program on SVBC TV channel, for about one year, from 12 noon to 1 pm, I am writing this. I appeal for forgiveness from devotees and scholars , if I am going to hurt their sentiments, by writing the following:

Submitting 'madhuparkams' during the wedding ceremony

SVBC channel, though broadcasts the ceremony live, 'commentary part', they seem to be playing recorded audio files. Two or three different commentators might have given these commentaries, as I hear, two or three different versions, on TV.

One commentator explains 'madhuparkams' are 'clothes/cloths (vastrams)'. Another commentator (example the commentary on 21.5.2017 wedding commentary) said that it is a preparation made of milk, honey, clarified butter etc.

Madhu means honey, and we can include preparations made of honey.
There is a general impression among the people of Andhra Pradesh, that 'madhuparkams' mean 'clothes/cloths'. During the ancient ages, madhuparkams seem to include even beef, as can be seen from the following quote:
Book: Sanskrit Drama Uttara Rama charitra, by Bhavabhuti mahAkavi, approx. 8th Century AD. Tritiya vishkambham. (3rd Intermission). Context: Disciples of Valmiki, by names Bhandayana and Saudamini were conversing with one another about the missing calf 'kalyANi kapili' and Sage vasishTha. These verses have been reproduced at our blog post No.124 Click here to go to post No. 124. I am quoting below the Uttara ramacharitram verses, for ready reference:

No sooner did he come, the orphan (poor) Kapila (black calf) Kalyaan`ii (auspicious name of the calf) was munched. (Meanings: parakikaa = orphan. Parapatiteena iva = the moment he came. Mad`a mad`aayita = was munched.).

Bhandayana (Senior disciple)

Meanings: Bahumanyamaana = standardised, recognised by many people. Aamnaayam = Vedas. That which is accompanied by flesh as "Madhuparkam" - this, the Vedas and the Codemakers (such as Bodhayana and Apasthambha) have standardised. Srootriya = A well-learned Brahmin who has been anointed with all the purificatory ceremonies (sanskaaras: prescribed religious ceremonies and vows such as celibacy, sacred thread etc. Brahmano, gneeyaha, sanskarai)). Abhyagata = guest who arrives without notice and stays not more than one night. (Eeka raatram eeva paragrihee nivasan, agnaatoo brahmanaha atidhi gnaatastee abhyaagataha). Vatsatari = calf. Mahooksham = big bull. Maha ajam = big goat. Grihamethina nirrapanti = house holders feed. Gist: Householders feed venerable scholars and guests with calfs or big bull or big goat. Thus the code-makers prescribed.

ybrao-a-donkey's views which are not intended to be imposed on others.

Though it may be a custom during the days of Valmiki, or Bhavabhuti, to serve revered priests, sages with preparations made of beef, we need not do it now in 21st Century.

I pray to the TTD Scholars , commentators to study the whole issue of 'madhu parkams' afresh.

I suggest that the the word 'madhuparkams' may be totally avoided during the commentaries. I suggest that we may use the words and phrases like 'vastram' samarpayAmi. 'madhu samarpayAmi'. 'kshIram samarpayami'. 'dadhi samarpayAmi'.

I am unable to trace the word 'parkam' in Sanskrit dictionaries. The TTD scholars can retry. The word 'parkam' seems to mean '(animal) skin'. In ancient times, animal skins might have been used as garments (and also as paper rolls). Probably, we might have got the word 'parchment' to mean thick paper, from this word 'parkam', though 'parchment' may have several other etymological roots. Thus parkams can mean clothes. Madhu can mean honey preparations. Madhuparkams can mean both honey preparations + textiles/fabrics. (dvandva samAsam). Anyway better to avoid the phrase 'madhuparkams'.

Sacred chants recited at the time of wearing 'sacred threads' to SridEvi and bhUdEvi

Some priests seem to be reciting three times each 'mAngalyam tantunAnEnA loka rakshaNa hEtavE, kanThe Badhnami...." and 'mAngalyam tantunAnEnA jIva rakshaNa hEtavE, kanThe Badhnami....' for SrIdEvi and bhUdEvi respectively. It used to be very clear about the ceremony. This practice seems to have been discontinued by some priests. (Eg. 21.5.2017, 12.30 pm approx.). If so, scholars have to examine the relative merits of the two methods.

LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST

The premises/compound where the kalyANotsavam (wedding ceremony) is being conducted, does not seems to have AT PROMINENT PLACES FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT. This ceremony may be in vogue since several Centuries, and no fire mishap might not have occurred so far. Audience/Spectators seem to be sitting in a crowded and congested manner. But there seems to be no alternative. But, we can do one thing. The grill gates behind the spectators seem to be closed, and probably locked. If that is true, if a fire mishap or a rumor of anything dangerous nature spreads, there will be stampedes, resulting in loss of lives. I hope the new EO will look into this, and arrange for some FIRE DRILLS, installation of FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT WITH CO2 CYLINDERS, KEEP THE REAR GATES OPEN,TRAINING TO COMMENTATORS ON HOW TO GUIDE SPECTATORS IN THE EVENT OF MISHAPS/RUMORS OF MISHAPS.

930 The 4200 km. strain-stress full walkathlon (pAda yAtra) of Shri Tammineni Veerabhadram,CPIM General Secretary, Telangana, may get a few seats for CPIM, but it will not bring Communism/Marxism/Socialism to India

On the occasion of completion of the 4200 kms. of Walkathlon of Shri Tammineni Veerabhadram, General Secretary, Telangana State, of Communist Party of India Marxist, a jumboree like flood-lit mass meeting has been organised in Hyderabad, which has been addressed by Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister, Kerala State. The Mass Meeting resembled the jumborees organised by bourgeoisie parties like TRS, BJP, TDP and Congress. It is not clear, who has provided funds to them for organising the jumboree. Ordinarily, bourgeoisie parties, when they organise jumborees, collect their funds from Corporates, Forest, Liquor, and Mining Contractors. It may not be possible for Proletarian Parties to collect such type of huge donations from Corporates and Contractors, because they have very few prospects of coming to power. A few years back, CPI Khammam arranged a grand jumboree in Khammam. Later, it emerged that Communist Parties in Khammam got their funds from Liquor Contractors. That issue was under police investigation, along with some other liquor cases which included some belt shops said to be benami-owned by Shri Botsa Satyanarayana, for sometime. Finally, everything was swept into/under the carpet.

925 Daunting task before Leftist Parties in India, especially CPI and CPIM, with no matching genuine effort on their part

This photo, courtesy hmtvlive.com shows Shri Tammineni Veerabhadram, General Secretary, Telangana State, of the CPIM (Communist Party of India Marxist), on his walking campaign in Mahabubnagar District of Telangana State. I greatly appreciate the physical strains he is taking ostensibly to strengthen his party in Telangana State, and also to criticise the despotic rule of Shri K. Chandrasekhara Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana, his son, his nephew, his daughter, and his follower. So far so good. Because of strenuous efforts of Shri Veerabhadram, his party may win one or two seats in the 2019 Election to Telangana Assembly, or INdia's Parliament. Okay, but will that be sufficient? In India, at the National level, there is a vacuum. People are highly dissatisfied with both the top National Parties and their associates i.e. BJP, NDA, Congress, UPA, Shiv Sena, and Regional Parties which support them. This is a beautiful opportunity for Left Parties to fill the vacuum, by 2019. There is two years time. By that time, if people are dissatisfied with BJP, Congress, and the Regional Parties, Left Parties should be able to fill the gap. But they are not ready. There are numerous issues which affect the functioning of Leftist Parties in India, and impair the capabilities of the Left Parties to come to power at Center.

Personal views of ybrao-a-donkey which are not intended to be imposed on others. I have no special love or malice towards any individual or group.

Communist Parties in India seem to have as leaders, only persons belonging to castes which are 'landed' and wealthy. Of course, those leaders may be exceptions from their castes, in the sense that they might have made sacrifices for their party, and they may be serving 24/7/365 their parties 'gratis' (without receiving / expecting any remuneration). But justice should not only be done, but also appear to have been done. CPI and CPIM, and other Leftist Parties have to give a thought to the aspect of JUSTICE APPEARING AS BEING DONE.

One method of JUSTICE to make APPEARING TO BE DONE, IN CHOOSING PARTY LEADERS

When elections are conducted in 'meetings' where proposers and seconders have to stand and put forward their candidate openly, very few members dare to propose and second candidates who do not belong to the group organising the meetings, funding the meetings, and conducting the elections. The very idea of organising meetings, funding the meetings and rallies of the party, is to get elected as a key Office bearer.

THERE SHOULD BE NO NEED OF NOMINATIONS TO GET ELECTED

Every registered eligible voter may be considered as a candidate automatically. His membership number can be taken as his identify, and as his election symbol. Every ballot paper can contain all the membership numbers, and names of the voters of Constituency, and voters may be requested to tick the number of the candidate, whom they want to elect.

As nominations are dispensed with, it is to be presumed, that primarily every voter has given his consent to be a candidate and get elected.

SECRET BALLOT MUST BE MADE COMPULSORY, so that voters can vote frankly and fearlessly.

After getting elected, if any voter wants not to take up the post, if there are significant genuine reasons for such refusal, fresh elections may be conducted for that post.

ERRONEOUS BELIEF THAT CASTEISM IS RAMPANT ONLY IN INDIA

It is a misconception to believe that casteism prevails only in India. It is Universal. In India, Casteism is much talked about, and the word 'caste' is unnecessarily and exceedingly used by the Government Departments, Corporations, and Govt. Companies. Inquiring about caste, where somebody seeks special benefits on the ground of his belonging to a particular socially backward caste, is understandable. In such cases, inquiring about caste should come up, when the context arises.

WHY REFERENCE TO CASTE IN Police First Information Reports, and Statements obtained from Witnesses?

This custom might have started during the British Rule or even earlier. Today, almost all Police Stations in India, while obtaining First Information Reports, and Statements from Witnesses, invariably refer at the beginning itself to the caste of the complainant/witnesses. Police can inquire about caste of complainants / accused / witnesses when need arises during investigation. Asking caste, should not be a starting point for obtaining statements from witnesses. Caste may become important, when a question of customs-traditions, applicable law arises, but that should be an item of secondary trigger, not primary trigger.

ROLE OF CASTEISM IN APPOINTMENT OF HIGH COURT JUDGES IN ANDHRA PRADESH, AND SUPREME COURT JUDGES FROM ANDHRA PRADESH

This aspect, we have covered in our blog post No. 754 at this blog. Click here to go 754

Are Telugu channels in India, mostly owned by persons belonging to same caste?

My father is about 90 years old. As he needs my assistance in watching TV, I spend about 3 hours every evening with him, for operating remote, while skipping through ubiquitous advertisements. Fortunately, SVBC Channel of TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam) is one channel which in its nAda nIrAjanam program (A program of approaching the God, hailing him through 'sound and music' [i.e. Indian Classical Music and Dance, both of Carnatic (South Indian) and Hindusthani (North Indian) genre], does not cause 'khEd' with intervening advertisements. Advertisements are broadcast at the end of program, and not in the middle. My father spends lot of time on Telugu News Channels. I mostly depend on Deccan Chronicle, English Newspaper, print edition, to quench my thirst for news.

While operating the remote to help my father through Telugu News channels, Sakshi TV channel, and 10 TV Channel drew my attention. Sakshi TV Channel is exceptional because it is owned by Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, and the YSRCP Party. Naturally it is anti Andhra Pradesh Government. 10TV channel, it drew my attention, because it appeared to me that they were giving special preference to Shri Tammineni Veerabhadram, his walking Campaign, and his speeches. As far as advertisements are concerned 10TV is not different from other news channels. That doubt has been clarified and resolved today, by googling.

The following internet link to kammasworld.blogspot.in shows the ownership patterns of most of the Telugu TV channels. Click to go to http://kammasworld.blogspot.in/2012/09/telugu-channels-own-and-run-by-kammas.html

Telugu TV Channels own and run by Kammas, information courtesy, kammasworld.blogspot.in. Though this information belongs to 2012, it seems to be valid even today, going by the programs we see on these Channels.

I have no special love or hate towards 'kammas' or any other caste/religion in Telugu lands or in India. But, see the coincidence, how almost all the TV Channels are owned by only one DOMINANT CASTE OF COASTAL ANDHRA PRADESH.

ALL DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE WELL WITH CPI AND CPIM LEADERSHIP IN KHAMMAM AND WARANGAL DISTRICTS

In post No. 914 Click here to go to post No. 914 at this blog, we have covered the news of hooliganism which took place in Warangal CPIM District Office, because a non-local was brought up as leader for Warangal. Of course, CPM State Leadership may say that their party gives no importance local - non-local.

Post No. 635 dated 27th Dec. 2015, at this blog, 'Who said that India is poor' dealt with CPI Khammam selecting a Medical College Owner as its candidate for MLC. Click here to go to post No. 635.

It may be accidental or incidental or coincidental, that Mr. Kankanala Narayana, General Secretary of CPI, Telangana State, also apparently belongs to the same caste as Shri Tammineni Veerabhadram.

914 When will the Communists / Marxists / True Socialists fill this void in this Unipolar Politico-Economic World?

Everybody knows in this unipolar world, there is a philosophical and practical vacuum in the politico-economic sphere. IN SPITE OF ITS EXPLOITATIVE NATURE, Capitalism is ruling the roust. The peculiarity of Capitalism is, its tentacles overlap every other activity in the world including Religion which is supposed to be neither political, nor economic. Besides, Capitalism will not have any scruples, while everybody tries to accumulate moolah by hook or crook in the shortest time. In the process, porn, drugs, homicides, genocides, patricides, fraticides, occupy center space. Everything gets reversed. Non-essential goods become essential, like food, clothing. And essential goods become non-essential. From 1917 Bolshevik Revolution times to the 1949 the Chinese Revolution times, there were expectations that Communism / Marxism / Socialism will find some solace to the suffering masses. Unfortunately, both the Russian and Chinese Models of Communism failed to live upto expectations.

After the collapse of the erstwhile U.S.S.R., and its East European allies in 1991, and the volta facie of China from the Communist path, there is a huge vacuum in the ideological arena which is yet to be filled. Okay, Communism and Communists were dirty denizens of hell and hungry ghosts. But what next, if not Communism / Marxism / Total Socialism ? During the period, dozens of Economists have won Economics Nobel Prizes. Yet, none of the Nobel Laureates could come up with an alternative model to replace the Capitalist Monstrasities, even if conceding that Russian Monstrasities and Chinese Monstrasities will not work. What happened for the outstanding creative and intellectual capabilities of the NObel Laureates, nobody knows! Probably, after receiving the Nobel Prize at the pulpits of the Capitalist Priests, the pandits might have lost their sense of direction, magnitude or zeal.

In India, there is a greater vacuum. Both UPA and NDA failed miserably. In the 2014 May General election for INdian Lok Sabha, people graced great victory to BJP. Two classes of people have contributed to the victory of Mr. Narendra Modi. 1. Religious Hindu fanatics and pseudo Hindutva bigots who were waiting for "achchE din" since the days of Nathuram Godse. 2. Those who were extremely unhappy with the corrupt and misrule by Congress. The candle of Indian Intellect is burning from both the ends, engulfed by overzealous religious charlatans who do not know anything about religion masquerading as sadhus and sants, and the Growth Experts of Share Market Economics who do not know what happens in Indian villages, and nooks and corners of India Cities.

INDIAN COMMUNIST PARTIES ARE NOT READY TO FILL THIS VOID, WHILE THE SOCIALISTS OF EARLY INDEPENDENCE DECADES COOLLY LEFT THIS PLANET

The bane of the Indian Communists is that they could not liberate themselves from their bondage to China, in spite of knowing pretty well that China is no longer a Communist country.

MISERABLE FAILURE OF INDIAN COMMUNISTS EVEN AT PROVINCIAL AND GRASS ROOTS LEVEL

CPIM by its bourgeoisie habits lost its hold in West Bengal. In Kerala, though CPM is in power lading a Front, it has learnt all the life-styles and mind-sets of bourgeoisie parties. In Telugu language, there is a proverb "Aaru nelalu sahavAsam cEstE aTu vALLu iTu avutAru, iTu vALLu aTu avutAru". Its English gist is, if people make friendships for six months, people on "this side" will become "people on that side", and those on "that side" will become people of this side. By giving Rice @ Rs. 1 per kg., by giving 3 BH houses, laptops, smart phones, numerous freebies, bourgeoisie parties are showing the traits of Leftist Parties, thus displacing the Left Parties from their niche places. Here is a link to a Huffingtonpost.in News Report which says that: "Don't Call The CPM In Kerala Communists, Call Them Social Democrats", Click here to go to http://www.huffingtonpost.in/2016/05/31/cpm-kerala-communists-soc_n_10217714.html . A quote from this report is worth studying:

"...Marxists would certainly detest being called social democrats because ideology is what they wax eloquent about and what gives them cover. Everything they do, whether it’s an alleged political murder or taking advertisements from homegrown crony-capitalists, are ideologically sanitised by their formal and informal network of supporters and proxies. Everything, according to them, is part of their long-term plan of a revolutionary project.

Being a mutualist with the neoliberal marketplace is therefore their unavoidable strategy for the triumph of the working class. But, Marxism is certainly not social democracy.

Marxists would certainly detest being called social democrats because ideology is what they wax eloquent about and what gives them cover.

One of the early trends that the media picked up since the CPM came to power in Kerala is the spate of announcements welcoming big businesses to invest in Kerala, encouraging public-private partnerships, and even kickstarting infrastructure projects that have long been shelved for environmental and feasibility reasons. “Left goes right” said a Times of India headline while the Indian Express said “Pinarayi Vijayan’s new Kerala: Silicon Valley-type hubs. A Malayalam newspaper headline quoted the industries minister saying all monopolies are welcome to the state. ..."

Question: Should we call Indian Communists Democrats?

Ans: Indian Communists, are on par with their bourgeoisie counterparts, as far as LACK OF INTERNAL DEMOCRACY in their parties is concerned. Essential pre-requisite quality for a democrat is, ABILITY AND WILLINGNESS TO TOLERATE EXPRESSION OF DISSENT. Indian Communist Parties have, all the traits needed by tyrannical parties. When dissent is not tolerated, and leaders are imposed from above, though ostensibly through unanimous elections, where the official top-sponsored candidate is never challenged, for fear of being alienated and isolated.

Top Communist Leaders shout from roof tops that their parties will not give any value to caste, religion, and local-non-local origin of individuals. That is theory, not intended for practice. Like bourgeoisie parties, they to have their caste/religion/local-non-local preferences, apart from being the sycophants and cronies of the top-leaders. There is nothing wrong, if a political party tries to stall unwanted unscrupulous persons joining their parties, and getting elected party posts. Unscrupulous persons with their mobs entering parties, hyjacking the party elections, bring out a split, stake claims for ownership of party buildings are rather abominal. All the prestigious concrete party buildings raised with the patronage from Ruling Parties through free land, free / cheap sand, cement , steel etc. when they change hand and go into the management of hyjackers, it may cause lot of agony to the promoters, Central and State Leaders. Such situations are not rare, it happened in 1962 India, when Communists split into CPI and CPIM.

For other bourgeoisie parties, totally hyjacking of party's buildings, cash reserves, and capturing their possession, by physically dominant and violent party-factions-leaders is quite common. For example, in Uttar Pradesh Mulayam Singh Yadav and his associates built the Samajvadi Party's assets (such as buildings, bank accounts etc.). But, a relatively a new entrant Akhilesh Yadav and his MLAs could easily hijack them. Natual justice requires that assets of the party are to be shared by both the factions. But, "majority MLAs" (in case of State Level Parties) or "Majority MPs" (in case of National Level Parties) seem to capture the party assets with the active co-operation of Election Commission and Courts.

It happened in 1969 in Congress. The Assets of the Indian National Congress were built over several decades by many generations of leaders. But their assets were snatched away by Mrs. Indira Gandhi and her faction.

It happened in 1994 in TDP. Late Senior NT Rama Rao founded the Telugu Desam Party from the scratch. But, the party, and its assets were snatched away by the MLAs led by Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu.

SHRI TAMMINENI VEERABHADRAM, GENERAL SECRETARY OF TELANGANA STATE CPIM

We have to wait and see what Shri Tammineni Veerabhadram, the General Secretary of the Telangana State who is on a strenuous walkathlon (pAdayAtra) is going to do after completion of his onerous task. !!!

"...CPM state leadership is making efforts to resolve differences cropped up between the two groups in Warangal Urban district unit." --- party in-charge state secretary, G Nagaiah.

"...The attack on the party office on Saturday by some persons as sad..."

"...There are several means to redress one’s grievance on party platform but vandalising the office is not proper. ..."

"... Expelled persons can approach the state committee or the central committee seeking reprieve. ..."

"... In CPM, there is no local and non-local candidate, those chosen by the majority will be made district secretary. If the rival group is against the election, it has to pursue the matter patiently by presenting their case before the party leadership. ..."

ybrao-a-donkey's observations, which are not intended to be imposed on others

1. On numerous occasions, CPI and CPIM have behaved like local parties taking up local issues. For example, CPI's Secretary Mr. Narayana supported Telangana Movement and spoke like a TRS leader. CPIM Secretary Shri Ramakrishna is very keen on getting Special Category Status to Andhra Pradesh.

Do CPI and CPIM have the system of elections which are conducted using secret ballots? Is that Mr. Vasudeva Reddy who has been imposed as District Secretary of Warangal, elected through secret ballot? Is everybody in the Party permitted freely to contest elections?

Ordinarily, Communist Parties in at least 25 States of India, do not have prospects of coming to power, or becoming the Main Opposition Parties. But all over the country, they have valuable buildings, shops, other assets. (In Telugu langauge, there is an idiom called "Shivalayam = Lord Shiva Temple", as against the opposite "VishNvAlayam = Lord VishNu's Temple". Traditionally, most Shiva Temples were poor. VishNu Temples are rich. Hence, robbers do not venture to burglar in Shiva Temples, where there will only be a phallus, some sacred water, and lot of ash. Communist Parties are like Shiva Temples. Supposed to be poor. In Shiva Temples, this trend is gradually changing. In Communist Party Offices also, things are changing rapidly, with computers, smart phones, glossy furniture, entering the scene.

Like Temples, if Communist Parties acquire and accumulate big buildings, rich paraphernalia, they will become attractions from unscrupulous persons who may enter the party to control the assets. This sort of thing, might have happened at Sundaraiah Bhavan, Warangal also, the CPIM's Office.

Tailpiece
Both BJP and CPIM parties claim they have disciplined workers. Do they really have disciplined workers?

One of the important objectives of this blogger at this blog is, contribute to the best of ability, in the direction of intellectualisation of proletariat (working class) in India. Then only, true total Socialism will germinate and grow in an amicable manner so as to facilitate change of the Economy and the Society, WITHOUT BLOODSHED.

795 If Mr. Bernie Sanders were a TRUE SOCIALIST he ought not to have joined Democratic Party!

Last time we wrote about Mr. Nick Cohen in our blog was on 24th May 2015, in our blog post No. 510. Click here to have a look at post No. 510 at this blog . At that time, we were discussing about the Indian oligarchs eager to buy posh and prime properties in London. This time, here is a need to compare American Socialist Bernie Sanders, British Labor Leader Jeremy Corbyn, and the European past of Communism of the days of Stalin and Trotsky. Mr. Cohen did it quite effectively and impressively in his article titled "LEFT HAS A HISTORY OF FOOLISHNESS" in Spectator, dated 30th July 2016. I have given below the link to this Spectator's article, for our readers to study. I am not going to rediscover or reinvent what Mr. Cohen has done so convincingly and penetratingly.

Being the largest democracy in the world, howsoever badly the so-called democracy survives in India, being one of the citizens of the poorest country in this world (this truth most Indians do not admit), I am tempted to fantasize about the future of Left in India, and explain how relevant one quote of Mr. Cohen in his article is, for our experience with the Left Parties in India. Conversely, if Indian Left Parties can rebuild themselves and succeed, that success will definitely serve as a model to the Euro, British, American, and probably even for Chinese People, not to write of the African Peoples, and the South American Peoples. (Peoples, as plural= in the meaning of Nations).

Click here to study Mr. Nick Cohen's Article at Spectator.

First we shall take up the quote given in the above image:--

"...Unfortunately, his real world was not the world his supporters lived in. They had believed Sanders when he said Clinton was a Wall Street puppet and were not going to stop believing him just because the danger of a mentally unstable and instinctively authoritarian President Trump entering the White House had forced Sanders to sober up. Clinton’s name produced boos. Trump’s brought shrugs. For them, there remained no difference between the two, and it did not matter who won. ..."

For the benefit of my Telugu readers, I provide an approx. Telugu translation of the above quote: "... ..."

ybrao-a-donkey's humble comments. You have every right to differ with me. I respect your right. However, pl. examine this donkey's views also.

Mr. Bernie Sanders, if he were a true socialist, he ought not to have joined the Democratic Party in United States, which is a bourgeoisie Party.

I am tempted to use a cliche like simile here: A cuckoo cannot sing like a cuckoo, when it is in the party of crows. Initially, crows may allow the cuckoo for a little time to melody like a cuckoo, but eventually the cuckoo will be forced to caw like a crow.

In management science lingo, this can probably called SOCIALISATION. If a newly admitted an employee / Manager in an organisation refuses to get SOCIALISED and undergo the METAMORPHOSIS, there will be EXTERMINATION and OSTRACIZATION.

Now, let us see the predicament of Mr. Sanders. He gave repeated messages to his supporters that Ms. Clinton is a puppet of Wall Street. By and large, it is true also. At the same time, Mr. Sanders ought to have kept in mind that Mr. Trump is also a puppet of the same Wall Street.

Is Mr. Trump a larger puppet, and Ms. Clinton a smaller puppet?

Are there any differences in magnitude and direction between the two? Answer for this can be : Appearances can, sometimes, be deceptive. Ms. Clinton may appear as polished and refined. Mr. Trump may appear as roguish and rubbish. But is there real difference between them? Is that difference so large, so wide, so deep, that Mr. Sanders has to give a call to his supporters to support Ms. Clinton, knowing pretty well that she is a puppet of Wall Street? This shift also gives us another grammatical example of degrees of comparison: Mr. Sanders is a big puppet, Ms. Clinton is a bigger pupper, and Mr. Trump is the biggest puppet!

COMPARISON OF ABOVE SANDERS BEHAVIOR , WITH THE INDIAN LEFTIST BEHAVIORS

The main Communist parties in India are 1. CPI (Communist Parties of India). 2. CPIM (Communist Party of India-Marxist), also called CPM. Both these parties are facing identify crises, notwithstanding their win in 2016 Kerala Assembly Elections, (Kerala=Southwest State of India on the coast of Arabian Sea and Indian Ocean).

Just as Sanders was compelled by his Democratic Party peers (or probably on his own volition) to ask his supporters to TRANSFER their support to Ms. Clinton, with an ostensible objective of preventing Trump entering the White House, Indian Communist Parties have an ostensible objective of preventing Communal Forces (in their view BJP Party)from capturing power in India.

Left parties in India, particularly CPM maintained that it wanted to stay at an equi-distance both from Congress and BJP. That stand was logically correct, because BJP has earned a bad name for enflaming majority communalism, whereas Congress Party tacitly pampered minority communalism. Indian Left Parties if they are truly committed to complete socialism, cannot enter into electoral alliances with bourgeoisie parties. In 2016 Bengal Elections, CPM tried to gather some votes by entering to electoral adjustments with Congress. While Congress benefited from it, CPM paid the price for it.

WHAT IS THE LESSON FROM ALL THIS WHETHER IN INDIA, UK OR USA?

Supporters and Voters are not puppets. Leftist Parties and Truly Socialist Parties have to realise this. The difference between the supporters of bourgeoisie parties and the socialist parties is: Supporters of Socialism become socialists because they have analytical abilities, because they have strong convictions, because they have had in their lives bitter experiences inflicted by Capitalism. Their shift in favour of True Socialism becomes rather indelible and nearly unalterable . Hence, they are not TRANSFERABLE like cheques and drafts, by endorsement and delivery.

WHAT MAY BE THE RIGHT OPTION FOR MR. SANDERS, AND THE TRUE SOCIALISTS IN US?

They have to start a NEW SOCIALIST PARTY in United States, build a truly socialist movement, and get ready for 2020. This is going to be difficult. But where is the choice? Mr. Sanders, or True Socialists, cannot hijack Democratic Party or Republican Party!

WHAT OPTIONS WE CAN THINK OF FOR SUPPORTERS OF TRUE SOCIALISM IN BRITISH LABOR PARTY?

In my mother tongue Telugu language there is a word 'nEti bIrakAya'. It refers to the vegetable a gourd, akin to rugged gourd (Telugu bIra kAya) family. nEti bIrakAya refers to a gourd with CLARIFIED BUTTER. Though nEti bIra kAya is a rare and tasty vegetable, gullible persons may believe that it also contains CLARIFIED BUTTER. British Labor Party, does not contain LABOR. Chinese Communist Party does not contain COMMUNISM.

In this world, especially the Capitalist World, the hard and harsh reality is PACKING CONCEALS THE TRUE NATURE. Actual goods do not conform to their Label. Whereever samples are used, merchandise actually delivered do not conform to samples. Everywhere, only tokenism prevails. In other words, MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING. True supporters of Working Class in U.K. may have to start a new Labor Party, with some other name, and start afresh.

781 We should appreciate the courage of Ms. Jagmati Sanwar in resisting CPM Central Committee

This is in continuation of our blogpost No. 758 dated 21st May 2016, wherein we have discussed some of the problems ailing the CPIM (Communist Party of India, Marxist). The title of the blogpost is: 758 CPIM is continuing the same disastrous and undemocratic practices of Congress and BJP ! Lacks internal democracy. For those who wish to study this blogpost: Click to go to 758 . Now, at least one courageous person in the CPIM Central Committee, Ms. Jagmati Sanwar, General Secretary of AIDWA has come out openly against the manner in which the CPIM Central Committee was violating its own Party-line of not having any truck with Congress, by forging alliances with Congress, in West Bengal. The debacle of CPM in the 2016 Bengal Assembly Elections, has sufficiently proved that unhealthy alliances with borgeoisie parties in the name of preventing /displacing some other bourgeoisie party do not pay. It appears that the Central Committee Members from Bengal have opposed the use of the word "violating" party-line in the Resolution of postmortem of losing the Elections in Bengal, and threatened to resign.

Here is a newsreport dated the 25th June 2016 from ndtv.com, which summarises what seems to have happened in CPIM Central Committee Meeting, and the circumstances which seem to have led to resignation of Ms. Jagmati from the Central Committee (according to her: resignation) and expulsion of Ms. Jagmati from the Central Committee (according to Party: expulsion for gross indiscipline).

Here is an Indian Express Report which informs what seems to have happened at the said Central Committee Meeting. Click to look at IndianExpress

Considering my resignation was in my opinion a step to strengthen the party, there is no question now of trying to weaken the party or any mass organisation. My decision was an entirely political decision and to interpret it as some kind of personal rivalry is absolutely wrong

This meeting started on June 18. And on the 18th the note presented by the politburo… it had this term that it was a violation of the political tactical line by the Bengal committee. And a huge majority said it was a violation... ... But today, when it concluded on the basis of the discussion… they said we will be deleting this violation word because Bengal secretary Surjya Kanta Misra and senior leaders like Bimanda [Bose] said we (they) will resign if you (cpm) keep this term. Even the general secretary [Sitaram Yechury] was against it. I said no, it is not acceptable, at least to me. I said I resign from the central committee and party membership and I walked out,

Ms. Jagmati Sangwan has taken a courageous decision.

She need not worry about weakening Communist or Socialist Movements in India.

She can try to promote a new Communist / Socialist / Democratic Socialist Party in India, which should include not only women, but also men.

Just as there are large number of bourgeoisie political parties in India, we can have large number of Communist / Socialist / Democratic Socialist Parties. I do not support the idea of unification of Communist Parties or having only one or two Communist Parties. Such step will only lead to monopolies and oligopolies in socialist arena.

In fact, totalitarianism is the bane of Communism, worldwide. At least in India, let us make a beginning of working against and dispelling the general impression of Communism / Socialism / Marxism involves dictatorships and totalitarianism.

CPIM seems to be suffering from loss of geographical spread. It sems to be excessively depending on its West Bengal and Kerala Units. For the time being it may be strong in West Bengal and Kerala. But CPIM Central Leadership should not forget that theirs is an All India Party, with defined set of principles. Opportunism and Regionalism cannot have places and prominence in the principles and party-lines. At any cost, inner party democracy cannot be sacrificed, in the name of gross indiscipline. One tool for deriving benefits from inner party democracy is through use of secret ballots at every level, where everything will be put to test through secret ballots, with a clear understanding that loss of something in ballot is not an end in itself, and after sometime, another attempt can be made.

PROBLEMS OF RELIANCE ON ONE OR TWO STATES

Mr. Jayaprakash Narayan, a Retd. I.A.S. Officer had started a Party by name Lok Satta. As JPN is from erstwhile United Andhra Pradesh, it had a good base in defunct United A.P.

Later, he wanted to convert Lok Satta into an All India Party, with Office at Delhi. Mr. JPN seems to have had some dreams of developing his party on the lines of A.A.P.

A.A.P (Aam Admi Party) too have dreams of emerging as an All India Party. But its base is only in Delhi and Punjab.

Already there are divisions and splits in A.A.P., culminating in expulsion of Yogendra Yadav, Prashanti Bhushan et al. Now, AAP (Kejriwal) is still continuing with its dreams. If Mr. Kejriwal inserts more South Indian leaders into AAP Central Committee, there is always a danger of revolt from Delhi and Punjab leaders, whose sweat the successes of AAP in Delhi and Punjab, which Mr. Kejriwal enjoys.

Back to Lok Satta, one gets an impression that Shri JPN wanted to give a greater role to his Delhi Associates, which seems to have been resisted by the A.P. Lok Satta Leaders. It appears that Mr. JPN wanted to have his say as founder of the party. Somehow, things did not workout, and the party seems to have been shelved or inactive.

ONE SOLUTION

It will be better if parties in India are organised NOT ON THE BASIS OF GEOGRAPHICAL UNITS, but ON THE BASIS OF DIFFERENT CLASSES OF PROLETARIAT such as farm workers, fishermen, rural artisans, metal workers, shop clerks, street vendors, construction workers, etc. etc. The different classes can be made of equal representation, size, by expert studies of various occupations and profession in India.

At grassroot level, units need not be organised in the traditional mode of village units, ward level units, or polling booth level units. Parties can take every group of 10 members of the same occupation/profession as one grassroot unit, and its leader can be called "daSamukh". A leader of ten such groups can be called "Satamukh". Ten Satamukhs can make a Sahasramukh. Thus leaderships and structures have to rise from bottom to the top, through a system of secret ballots.

NOT EASY TO START AND RUN NEW POLITICAL PARTIES IN INDIA
It is not easy to start and run new political parties in India, both bourgeoisie and Socialist. While the bourgeoisie parties may do anything they like because they need not worry about ethics, Socialist Parties have to explore ways and means of organising parties without COSTS. CPIM has recently organised a motorcycle rally in Vijayawada. Who will pay the cost of petrol? Party workers participating in such rallies will lose one day wages, they have to bear the cost of petrol, they have to neglect their families. For its Meeting at Vijayawada, CPIM might have collected funds from somebody or other without verifying their source of income. For example, there is an allegation against CPI that it collected donations from Liquor Contractors in Khammam District for organising its Meeting there.

Workers and Proletarian Parties have greater ethical responsibilities when compared to Mainline parties.

758 CPIM is continuing the same disastrous and undemocratic practices of Congress and BJP ! Lacks internal democracy.

This is in continuation of our blog post No. 757 Click if you wish to study 757. The selection of Mr. Pinnarayi Vijayan as Kerala's Chief Minister, treating the elected Kerala CPIM and LDF MLAs as dumb goats, by the duo of MR. PRAKASH KARAT and MR. SITARAM YECHURY, only shows that CPIM Party lacks INTERNAL DEMOCRACY. Though theoretically, the LDF MLAs may be electing their Legislature Party Leader unanimously, in reality who will defy the decision of the Central Leadership of the Party? Who will come OPENLY forward to contest as Leader of the Legislature Party? Correct democratic process ought to have been, to conduct a secret ballot, after inviting written nominations from the M.L.As. There will be no use of showering praises on a 92 year old leader Achyutanandan, after dumping him into a dustbin. I do not wish to say that Senior Leaders should continue as Chief Ministers till their death. But, they should not be denied an opportunity to contest for Leadership, by Central Leadership throwing their weight behind some X or Y. Central Leadership should function as neutral, and facilitative Management, rather than authoritarian and intruding.

QUESTION: WHAT IS WRONG WITH THE PRESENT PROCESS OF CENTRAL LEADERSHIP COMING OUT WITH THEIR SELECTION?

Ans: Central Leadership announcing its preference, will be an insult and to the Legislature Party and interference into their affairs. The Legislature Party is supposed to elect its leader independently. It is how democracy flows from grassroot levels, to upwards. The role of Central Leadership and their observers should have been restricted to ensure that the MLAs do not fight with chairs and knives, and that they exercise their franchise fearlessly and freely.

QUESTION: WHAT WILL BE THE HARM NOW?

Ans: Those who are mum and silent now at the Meeting to Elect Legislature Party Leader, will start their dissident operations. There will be bickerings. As per the practice, CM will go to the Central Leadership with the list of proposed Ministers and will have to get their approval. CM will have to convince those who do not get a berth in Cabinet, saying that it is not his list, and that it is the Central Leadership's list. This type of affairs may prevail in, and suit for bourgeoisie parties, but not for PROLETARIAT PARTIES which are supposed NOT TO RUN FROM TOP TO BOTTOM, but FROM BOTTOM TO TOP.

QUESTION: Even a Chief Minister duly elected in secret ballot cannot satisfy dissident MLAs who do not find their names in Cabinet?

ANS: MLAs, themselves, can be given the task of electing their Ministers, along with their portfolios, that too through a secret ballot.

QUESTION: But using secret ballot for everything, weakens a CM !

ANS: Today, Chief Ministers and Prime Ministers are becoming tyrants, because they have the prerogative whom to make ministers, and whom not to make ministers. Consequently, Cabinet Meetings have become mute affairs, where Ministers do not dare to express their dissent. CMs and PMs have started giving marks to Ministers and MLAs.

QUESTION: Secret ballots for everything, may lead to MLAs demanding bribes for their votes.

ANS: It is the weakness of democracy, caused by a shortocoming of grass-root voters who have become CORRUPT and are failing to elect their M.L.As and M.Ps. after testing their honesty and integrity. For some years, till our democracy matures, this lacuna is to be borne with.

644 We have to search for the Spiritualism which India is exporting.

CPIM General Secretary Mr. Sitaram Yechury, is reported to have commented on Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi's statement: --"...India has not given communalism to the world but only spirituality... " .

"...Communal polarisation have started again in the country ahead of the Assembly polls in some states..."

"...The Prime Minister has now made a peculiar statement saying that India exports spiritualism to the world and not communalism. India’s spiritualism does not need any export. India’s spiritualism is so rich in its content that it has travelled all over the world and wil continue to travel because of its content. ..."

"...But what this government is trying to do is not India’s spiritualism. The country’s spiritualism teaches us (that) different rivers flow in different directions to merge with the same ocean and that precise difference is what this government cannot tolerate and that is the entire atmosphere of intolerance ..."

"...BJP government is trying to cover up its own actions of spreading intolerance by making such statements, which needs to be exposed ..."

If don't want to hear some positive words about India, put something up your arse n be quite.. You pig heads

It is not clear whether Mr. Narendra Modi is the bye-product of his backers, or whether his supporters are reading his mind.

The main problem with CPIM is, it is Bengal-Kerala centered. It cannot look beyond elections in those States. As far as catering to religious vote banks, by pampering them, is concerned, there is not much difference among BJP, Congress, CPIM, Trinamul Congress, etc. political parties. There are only minor variations. Basically BJP aims at Hindu votes. All other parties aim at Minority votes, while trying to retain the Hindu votes as well. Hindu votes, they try to retain by promoting casteism. Hence, Mr. Sitaram Yechury calling BJP communal, is pot calling the kettle black. Or like a person, throwing stones from out of a glass house. CPIM has a long way to go, if it has to become truly secular. True Secularism, in reality should be Irreligiosity or Irreligiousness. We can't find that irreligiosity in Indian Political Parties, not to speak of the European and American POlitical Parties. All are hypocrites.

If a leader speaks ignorantly, his followers will speak with 10x ignorance (10 times more ignorance) and with 10x intensity (10 times more intensity). If a leader speaks with knowledge, his followers are likely to speak only with 1/10th of the knowledge, because knowledge is to be collected with great effort, just as a honey bee collects honey hopping form flower to flower and shrub to shrub.

Mr. Modi's remark about India teaching Spiritualism to the World, was in the context of his speaking at some Jain Religious Conggregation. It seems he wanted to give them some pep talk and uplift their spirits.

In reality, there is not much great in Spiritualism, INdian or alien. Reason: Where are the spirits? Spiritualism is based on a meta-physical concept, that there is something beyond our body, which (our body) manifests and moves through its faculties of speech, vision, touch, smell, hearing, taste etc. etc. Spiritualists fail to realise that we are "our bodies" and there is nothing beyond that. Indian Spiritualism is based on the assumption that when a person dies, his spirit (also called soul or jivAtma) leaves the body. Some people represent the soul with a glorious light, which moves and merges towards and into God (Supreme Soul).

And some others represent the soul through air (called prANa vAyu or life's wind). These are all concepts which have not been proved, except when persons go through hallucinations. Besides, Indians are terribly afraid of the cycle of births and deaths, while at the same time conceding that human birth is the best among the 840 million species of creatures created by God. The entire spiritualism revolves around this chief narrow goal of avoiding the birth-death-rebirth cycle.

But, when it comes to amassing gold and wealth, irrespective of religions, cults, the Preachers be they Swamijis, Mullas, Fathers-Bishops, nobody lags behind in gathering gold from devotees, living in mansions with marble panels, imported furniture, move in luxury cars, fly first class. They know that Materialism is more important than the unknown Spiritualism. (Proverb: Known Devil is better than Unknown God).

Through whom did INdia send its message of spiritualism? Swami Vivekananda? (Incidentally, Jan. 12 is the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda). He seems to have gained some initial popularity by his speech at the 1893 Chicago Congress of Religions. Then, he tried to sell his speeches and make some dollars, using the services of Private American Event Promotion Firms. What had actually happened between them, we do not know, he felt cheated by those Contracting firms, and then he started lecturing on his own. He stayed at big Hotels in U.S.A. insisting on his hosts to place him in only big hotels. He lectured to American Aristatic Women, to the exclusion of blacks, coloreds and American poor.

The Aristocratic American Women thought that Indian Mystics are prophets and have super-human powers to bring husbands, bless couples with children, cure diseases, etc. etc. Swami Vivekananda ought to have told them that Indian spiritualism is not concerned with any occult powers or mystic tales or ecstasies. Initially Vivekananda called himself a Paramahamsa (Great Swan), but for reasons not clear, he stopped that later, when somebody objected to it, or that it was not convenient to continue telling so. The Aristocratic Americans were surprised with his habits [relishing non-veg (including possibly beaf), alcohol, etc. and they found him likable.] . However, he told them both in England and U.S., that people can live 150 years with Yoga. Where is the spiriuality in all this? This was upto 1897.

After returning to India in 1897, Vivekananda was received with great fanfare by the Ruler of Ramnathpuram at the Southernmost tip of India, and felicitated with gold casket (Vivekananda vowed against kAmini-(women) and kAnchanam-(gold). After returning to Kolkata, he received his Euro-American disciples and took them on a trip to Kashmir. For hosting them he hired a house in Himalayan Mountains at a monthly rent of Rs. 80/- (its 2015 inflation equivalent may be Rs. 8,000 or Rs. 80,000). Surprised at this lavish living, and the Vivekananda's superstitions, the main donor Ms. Henrietta Mueller, for the Belur Math's land, called everything a fraud in a Press Meet and shifted to Theosophy of Annie Besant.

In the meantime, Vivekananda was diagnosed with diabetes, and the floor under his feet has started moving. A Complete study of his Complete Works indicates that he seems to have panicked. In 1899 he went to U.S.A. again in search of medical treatment for himself. Not only did he consult there, the conventional American Doctors, but also acupuncturists, homoeopaths, but could not get any benefits. Thereafter, he moved from place to place in U.S.A. in search of Dollars, for his future maintenance as well as to buy a house in Himalayan Foot HIlls. Could not succeed. Disappointed, he returned to India in 1900. Upto his death on July 4, 1902, he suffered from a conflict between his cravings and his ailments. As a last hope, he seems to have sacrificed a goat to Goddess Durga, during Durga puja. In other words, he seems to have returned to his superstitions. Where is the Spiritualism in all this?

Mr. Narendra Modi seems to have borrowed his Spiritualism from Swami Vivekananda, without understanding what Spiritualism truly meant. For example when Mr. Vivekananda was touring America, collecting Dollars, his Contemporary who represented Jainism -Veerchand Gandhi, in the World Parliament of Religions, Chicago, mobilised two shiploads of wheat and sent to India as famine-help. Mr. Narendra Modi quotes Swami Vivekananda everywhere. But why doesn't he quote Mr. Veerchand Gandhi anywhere? In the Convention of Jains, our beloved Prime Minister should have mentioned about Veerchand Gandhi's spirit of Service. In my humble personal view, there is a strong need for our highly revered Prime Minister to study the Complete Works of Swami Vivekananda thoroughly.

I personally feel that Mr. Narendra Modi did not learn things completely from Swami Vivekananda. For example, Swami Vivekananda sent to Ms. Christina Greenstidel, a German Lady, (Swamiji's devotees think that he adopted her, and that she is his daughter. But there is no evidence), a sum of $468 (very large amount @ 1902 prices), praying her to come to India in First Class by ship, and if that was not possible for any reason, he asked her to do with the money as she pleased. Here is a quote from his letter to Ms. Christina Greenstidel:
Quotes: Herewith I send you four hundred and eighty dollars by cheque drawn on Thomas Cook & Son, Broadway, New York.
...

Second-class passage across the Atlantic is all right, but the second class from Italy to Bombay is rather bad. There are always a few rough men and fast women. There is money enough for travelling first class all through, if you so like.
...

In case, however, things take another turn and you cannot come, no matter. Do with the money just as it pleases you.

Did Mr. Narendra Modi ever show such generosity to Ms. Jashoda Ben his dharmapatni, as per his affidavit to the Election Commission? Why could n't he buy a small saree of Rs. 500/- and present to Ms. Jashoda Ben in recognition of all the travails she has undergone, is undergoing as his traditionally, legally, wedded wife? NO money? After becoming Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2002, he may have been getting some salary as CM. Otherwise, how could he buy specially designed Kurtas in Ahmedabad from Jade Blue Fame Clothing Chain.

Actually, India has imported Racialism and Untouchability from NOrth Europe, through the Aryans who migrated to India from Nordisca (Scandinavia, Baltics, North Sea countries). For about 2,500 years, dalits in India have been subjected to cruelty and misery by the White Aryans, through the Chaturvarna (Four Caste System), and Slavery.

Without a need for India to re-export the Aryan System of Untouchability to Europe, the Europeans and the Americans themselves had developed a System of Christian Untouchability through Centuries of Slave Trade, colonialisation and loot of the non-white World. We are now learning their methods and procedures through the World Trade Forum, IMF, Security Council, etc. etc.

So, where is the Spiritualism in all this? ? ?

641 Indian Voters prefer to sell their votes for Rs. 1500 + liquor bottle + biriyani packet because there are not truly reliable Left Parties!

If a person does not change his words often, how can he become a politician? A politician should change his words like the Bhagavad Gita fame soul changes its torn clothes. Mr. Prakash Karat, former top boss of CPIM wants us not to forget this muddy and murky theory of politics which ordinarily bourgeoisie parties excel in, and he wants to prove that Left Parties can defeat the bourgeosie parties in Opportunism!

When workers whether agriculture, industrial or service sector, whatever hue they may belong to, who are more than 90% of Indian Electorate are misled by the bourgeoisie parties, it becomes the duty of the Left Parties to get voters back home ("ghar vApsi"). Instead of doing that, if left parties become opportunistic, they will be digging their own graves.

What the CPI and CPIM leaders forget so often, is that people have Great Expectations from the Left Parties. People expect a very very higher level of ethical behaviors and standards from the Left Leaders. Since these ethical behaviors and standards, are not forthcoming, and inasmuch as in the name of tactics Left Leaders are imitating the bourgeoisie leaders, voters are feeling a preference to sell their votes for Rs. 1,500/- plus a liquor packet and a biriyani packet.

Today, Indian voters are unable to find a truly reliable Leftist Party to vote for.

Question: Do you want Indian Left Parties to perish, by adopting rigid stances and strategies? CPI and CPIM are already in a State of Decay. Do you want them to become defunct and extinct?

Answer: A Party which makes it an infallible rigid philosophy (compare this with basic structure of Indian Constitution which can never be amended by Indian Parliament) to adhere to its basic goals and principles will never perish. It may temporarily become inactive. Goals, ideals, principles and theories are passed on from one generation of workers to another generation of workers like hereditary characteristics which are passed on across generations through mutations.

Just as one lamp can before becoming extinct, can light another lamp and keep on the light glowing eternally, goals, ideals, principles and theories are passed on through exchange of views and enlightenment between the youth and the aged. They are never lost. CPI and CPIM leaders ought not to have been panicked by temporary failures.

Real problem with the CPI and CPIM is, they have become stooges of the Congress, and Regional Parties, in the name of fighting BJP, calling it communal-force. Truth is: If BJP is a majority Communal Force, Congress and Regional Parties are Minority Communal Forces.

Though globally, Communism lost its supporters, and though in India Communist leaders and workers are languishing and dying due to aging, still there is an underlying latent positive outlook towards Communism, Marxism and Socialism.

The most vocal and high-profile among the Indian Classes i.e. the Rich and Upper Middle Class do not appreciate Communism-Marxism-Socialism-Equalism because they thrive on exploitation and special rights they claim on the grounds of their (non-existing) superior skills and talents, polished and refined appearances, they do not want to allow Equal Rights to the Workers, who are coarse and rugged.

This does not mean that the Worker Class and the Lower Middle Classes are averse to Communism-Marxism-Socialism. They are only apprehensive about the dictatorships which result from induction of Fake Communism, through the so-called barrel of Gun Revolutions. They do not want to fall from penam (pan) to poyyi (fire-stove).

639 Article of Shri Borra Govardhan about Vaidika Marxism.

In my post No. Click to go to 634 , we have taken note of the article titled "AmbedkarisTula bhramalu (The illusions of Ambedkarists" penned by renowned Telugu Author (Muppalla) Ranganayakamma. Link to her Article in AndhraJyothy.com, is available in that post. Some of the issues raised by her are worth discussing. Before we could discuss some of them, one Shri Borra Govardhan has written a critic of that article "AmbEdkarisTula bhramalu" , published in AndhraJyothy.com , dated 30th Dec. 2015. Here is the link to Andhrajyothy.com containing the article of Shri Govardhan. Title of the article: "Vaidika Marxism వైదిక మార్క్సిజమ్". Click to go to the article of Shri Borra Govardhan.

We have to wait till some more people write about Late Ambedkar, Ranganayakamma, the Illusions of Ambedkarists, the Vaidika Marxism. Shri Govardhan defined the Vaidika Marxism in one straight forward sentence. In Telugu: "mEmu ceppindE vEdam, naDicindE mArgam, mEm tappanTE tappE, oppanTE oppE. This is the primary characteristic of the Vedic ideas. ". English gist: "Whatever we say is Veda. Whatever path we tread is the (true) Path. If we say that something is wrong, then it is wrong. If we say that something is right, it is right only.

I do not wish to particularly point out at Ms. Ranganayakamma. It appears that most people who swear by or who are committed to some principles (including ybrao-a-donkey), be it Marxism or something else, seem to have this trait of trying to dictating terms to others. This problem of intolerance to criticism (immaterial whether the criticism is justified or not justified), seem to prevail even in Top Leaders of CPI and CPM. It is not exactly the type of authoritarianism which is conspicuous in bourgeoisie parties like Congress and BJP.

Lack of internal democracy in Bourgeoisie Parties like Congress and BJP is understandable. How can we explain the lack of internal democracy in CPI and CPM which are based in Theories?

While I am typing this review, I heard on the All India Radio News, about the passing away of CPI Former General Secretary Shri A.P. Bardhan. CPI and CPM seems to be losing all their aged leaders and Party Workers, while replenishments are NOT TAKING PLACE. This may lead to extinction of Communist Movement in India. Let us hope that it is not going to happen.

1. The issue of the miserable State of the Untouchable Classes in British India, is an internal issue of the Indian Nationals. The participants in the three Round Table Conferences which were held in London between 1931-1932 argued their sectoral cases, instead of arguing on behalf of India as a Nation. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was no exception. While the British chose to enslave us with DIVIDE AND RULE rool, we fell a victim to that.

2. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar seems to have thought that separate Constituencies for Dalits will bring them liberation. Now, of course a hind sight, History of Independent India 1947-2015, shows that in spite of Electoral reservations, Reservations in Educational Institutions, Reservations in Govt. Jobs, the Scheduled Castes did not progress much. Reservations were just like Amritanjan or Zandu Balm, whereas India suffered from a major malady.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar seems to have forgotten to take a serious note of the fact that bulk of the productive assets of India, in 1947 or in 2015 are not owned by Dalits or Scheduled Tribes or Backward Classes. In every village, town, City, they are controlled by few families. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, being the Chief Drafter of the Indian Constitution, ought to have drafted for
a) Removal of Private Property all types of rights, and inheritance.
b) Treating every Indian as a Government Employee, with equality.
c) Removal of Currency System, role of money
d) Removal of marriage and family system. Free women from care of off-springs. Society to raise children once they attain an age of 5 years.
e) Common Civil code irrespective of castes and religions. Close prayer houses, prayer assemblies.
f) Removal of kitchens in individual homes. Guaranteed Free Supply of food packets to living quarters to every citizens.
g) Guaranteed living quarters to all Indians, with no right of sale, gifting, inheritance.
h) All needs of citizens such as food, clothing, shelter, health care, education, everything free and provided by the Society (State).
i) Automatic care of aged persons by State.
j) Free citizens from the risks of farming, trade, industry, and businesses. All risks are borne by the State.
k) Ban on private cars. Any gadget which the Western Society invents and introduces in its Consumerist markets, Socialist India will provide to all Socialist Citizens FREE OF COST. Upgradation from one paradigm to another paradigm should take place only after lower level needs of all the citizens are met by the State. Example: Only after State provides Two wheelers to all the Citizens, the question of making cars will have to be taken up. Till then, all the Citizens have to be stopped at the level of Public Transport or at the level of Two wheelers.

Dr. Ambedkar, probably might not have thought of COMPLETE SOCIALISM + DEMOCRACY AS A SOLUTION FOR the Untouchables of INDIA, if not for 100% of Citizens of India.

The above are only some examples. More can be added.

Life is too precious to lay down at the alter of special status for the State of Andhra Pradesh. Here is a news item from DC dated 22-9-15 which says that CPI workers have started a fast-unto-death demanding special category status to Andhra Pradesh. Special Status to Andhra Pradesh is too flimsy a demand to sacrifice lives. The benefits of Special Status are too ephemeral and volatile, and anyway they will benefit only industrialists and businesses, in the form of subsidies, incentives and tax concessions. For example, when A.P. State Govt. sometime back released Rs. 1200 crore (Rs. 12 billion) or $ 200 million approx. as some Capital Subsidies to industries such as Spinning Mills, who benefitted? Cabinet member of Shri Chandra Babu Naidu, - Shri Prattipati Pulla Rao was benefitted by Rs. 30 crore. Did any of these spinning mills or some other mills, pass on at least a small part of the concessions they received from the State and Central Governments to their workers who toil to enrich the mill owners? That the Spinning Mill and other Mill owners should tell !!

GUNTUR: CPI workers Kota Malyadri, Budala Srinivas, Ch. Ramakrishna and 15 other members on Monday started a fast-unto-death demanding special category status to Andhra Pradesh.

Party state secretary K. Ramakrishna demanded Prime Minister Narendra Modi to announce the SCS to the state immediately and warned of intensifying the protest if the demands were not met.

Mr Ramakrishna launched the protest organised by Guntur CPI unit in front of the district collectorate. He accused Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu of touring Singapore instead of taking up the issue of special category status with the Centre.

Mr Ramakrishna warned that the party would organise state-wide protests from October 2.
ybrao-a-donkey's humble views. I shall not insist that you agree with me.

It will do good for Mr. K. Ramakrishna, A.P. State Secretary of CPI, and the Communist Party of INDIA POLIT BUREAU to realise that Communism / Marxism / Total Socialism cannot have anything to do with Regional / Linguistic / Religious / Casteist aspirations. All these have nothing to do with Working Class or , Class Struggles.

The above news says that CPI workers have started a fast unto-death demanding special status for Andhra Pradesh. I view that the lives of CPI workers are too valuable to sacrifice at the alter of the bourgeoisie parties to fulfil their deceptive, elusive, fake promises which were made with no intention to fulfil. Special Status demand is too flimsy a ground to lay down lives. Of course, the 21st Century fasts unto-death may not have a really serious intent to continue it until death, if the demands are not fulfilled, and that there is always a foresight that Police will interrupt it in the middle , admit the fast-makers into hospitals, and inject saline. This has been proved numerous times. Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu knew it when he did it in New Delhi. KCR knew it. Jagan knows it. But, still, let us give a benefit of doubt to the CPI workers that they are serious and sincere in their fasting. They seem to have been misguided by somebody to convince them to undertake the misadventure. Funniest part is, Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu is worried about the life of Jagan, but not worried about the value of the lives of CPI Workers. Why? Only he should tell. Are CPI Workers flies and mosquitos to be brushed aside?

Encouraging Regionalism, Casteism, Communalism, etc. create practical problems for All India Parties. For example, all the 29 States of India may want Special Status for their respective States. Will the CPI Central Committee support and allow their 29 State level Committees to start agitations to pursue their goals? Suppose, if all the 29 State CPI Units want their workers to start fast-unto-death, there will be disintegration of India. Chasing with the hounds and fleeing-running with the hares will be foolish and not possible. CPI Secretary Mr. Narayana has already done sufficient injustice to the State of Residual Andhra Pradesh, and to the cause of Communism and Working Classes of both Telangana and Sesh Andhra areas, when he sided with TRS and sailed with KCR & Company demanding separate Telangana. Mr. Suravaram Sudhakara Reddy owes a duty to explain to the people of India to explain how their support to separate Telangana Movement benefited the Workers of Telangana, or Sesh Andhra, or the Working Classes of India.

To continue.
