925 Daunting task before Leftist Parties in India, especially CPI and CPIM, with no matching genuine effort on their part

This photo, courtesy hmtvlive.com shows Shri Tammineni Veerabhadram, General Secretary, Telangana State, of the CPIM (Communist Party of India Marxist), on his walking campaign in Mahabubnagar District of Telangana State. I greatly appreciate the physical strains he is taking ostensibly to strengthen his party in Telangana State, and also to criticise the despotic rule of Shri K. Chandrasekhara Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana, his son, his nephew, his daughter, and his follower. So far so good. Because of strenuous efforts of Shri Veerabhadram, his party may win one or two seats in the 2019 Election to Telangana Assembly, or INdia's Parliament. Okay, but will that be sufficient? In India, at the National level, there is a vacuum. People are highly dissatisfied with both the top National Parties and their associates i.e. BJP, NDA, Congress, UPA, Shiv Sena, and Regional Parties which support them. This is a beautiful opportunity for Left Parties to fill the vacuum, by 2019. There is two years time. By that time, if people are dissatisfied with BJP, Congress, and the Regional Parties, Left Parties should be able to fill the gap. But they are not ready. There are numerous issues which affect the functioning of Leftist Parties in India, and impair the capabilities of the Left Parties to come to power at Center.

Personal views of ybrao-a-donkey which are not intended to be imposed on others. I have no special love or malice towards any individual or group.

Communist Parties in India seem to have as leaders, only persons belonging to castes which are 'landed' and wealthy. Of course, those leaders may be exceptions from their castes, in the sense that they might have made sacrifices for their party, and they may be serving 24/7/365 their parties 'gratis' (without receiving / expecting any remuneration). But justice should not only be done, but also appear to have been done. CPI and CPIM, and other Leftist Parties have to give a thought to the aspect of JUSTICE APPEARING AS BEING DONE.

One method of JUSTICE to make APPEARING TO BE DONE, IN CHOOSING PARTY LEADERS

When elections are conducted in 'meetings' where proposers and seconders have to stand and put forward their candidate openly, very few members dare to propose and second candidates who do not belong to the group organising the meetings, funding the meetings, and conducting the elections. The very idea of organising meetings, funding the meetings and rallies of the party, is to get elected as a key Office bearer.

THERE SHOULD BE NO NEED OF NOMINATIONS TO GET ELECTED

Every registered eligible voter may be considered as a candidate automatically. His membership number can be taken as his identify, and as his election symbol. Every ballot paper can contain all the membership numbers, and names of the voters of Constituency, and voters may be requested to tick the number of the candidate, whom they want to elect.

As nominations are dispensed with, it is to be presumed, that primarily every voter has given his consent to be a candidate and get elected.

SECRET BALLOT MUST BE MADE COMPULSORY, so that voters can vote frankly and fearlessly.

After getting elected, if any voter wants not to take up the post, if there are significant genuine reasons for such refusal, fresh elections may be conducted for that post.

ERRONEOUS BELIEF THAT CASTEISM IS RAMPANT ONLY IN INDIA

It is a misconception to believe that casteism prevails only in India. It is Universal. In India, Casteism is much talked about, and the word 'caste' is unnecessarily and exceedingly used by the Government Departments, Corporations, and Govt. Companies. Inquiring about caste, where somebody seeks special benefits on the ground of his belonging to a particular socially backward caste, is understandable. In such cases, inquiring about caste should come up, when the context arises.

WHY REFERENCE TO CASTE IN Police First Information Reports, and Statements obtained from Witnesses?

This custom might have started during the British Rule or even earlier. Today, almost all Police Stations in India, while obtaining First Information Reports, and Statements from Witnesses, invariably refer at the beginning itself to the caste of the complainant/witnesses. Police can inquire about caste of complainants / accused / witnesses when need arises during investigation. Asking caste, should not be a starting point for obtaining statements from witnesses. Caste may become important, when a question of customs-traditions, applicable law arises, but that should be an item of secondary trigger, not primary trigger.

ROLE OF CASTEISM IN APPOINTMENT OF HIGH COURT JUDGES IN ANDHRA PRADESH, AND SUPREME COURT JUDGES FROM ANDHRA PRADESH

This aspect, we have covered in our blog post No. 754 at this blog. Click here to go 754

Are Telugu channels in India, mostly owned by persons belonging to same caste?

My father is about 90 years old. As he needs my assistance in watching TV, I spend about 3 hours every evening with him, for operating remote, while skipping through ubiquitous advertisements. Fortunately, SVBC Channel of TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam) is one channel which in its nAda nIrAjanam program (A program of approaching the God, hailing him through 'sound and music' [i.e. Indian Classical Music and Dance, both of Carnatic (South Indian) and Hindusthani (North Indian) genre], does not cause 'khEd' with intervening advertisements. Advertisements are broadcast at the end of program, and not in the middle. My father spends lot of time on Telugu News Channels. I mostly depend on Deccan Chronicle, English Newspaper, print edition, to quench my thirst for news.

While operating the remote to help my father through Telugu News channels, Sakshi TV channel, and 10 TV Channel drew my attention. Sakshi TV Channel is exceptional because it is owned by Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, and the YSRCP Party. Naturally it is anti Andhra Pradesh Government. 10TV channel, it drew my attention, because it appeared to me that they were giving special preference to Shri Tammineni Veerabhadram, his walking Campaign, and his speeches. As far as advertisements are concerned 10TV is not different from other news channels. That doubt has been clarified and resolved today, by googling.

The following internet link to kammasworld.blogspot.in shows the ownership patterns of most of the Telugu TV channels. Click to go to http://kammasworld.blogspot.in/2012/09/telugu-channels-own-and-run-by-kammas.html

Telugu TV Channels own and run by Kammas, information courtesy, kammasworld.blogspot.in. Though this information belongs to 2012, it seems to be valid even today, going by the programs we see on these Channels.

Information, kind courtesy:

2) Gemini - Akkineni Manohara Prasad (Founder and stake holder)
3) MAA - (MAA - Music, MAA Movies) Nimmagadda Prasad, Akkineni Nagarjuna (Majority stake holders - Then sold to Sony)

19) Express TV - Chigurupati Jairam
20) 10 TV - Fundeded by CPM workers and promoted by Tammineni Veerabhadram
21) Captain TV (Tamil) - Lingutla Kannaiah Sudhish (LK

I have no special love or hate towards 'kammas' or any other caste/religion in Telugu lands or in India. But, see the coincidence, how almost all the TV Channels are owned by only one DOMINANT CASTE OF COASTAL ANDHRA PRADESH.

ALL DOES NOT APPEAR TO BE WELL WITH CPI AND CPIM LEADERSHIP IN KHAMMAM AND WARANGAL DISTRICTS

In post No. 914 Click here to go to post No. 914 at this blog, we have covered the news of hooliganism which took place in Warangal CPIM District Office, because a non-local was brought up as leader for Warangal. Of course, CPM State Leadership may say that their party gives no importance local - non-local.

Post No. 635 dated 27th Dec. 2015, at this blog, 'Who said that India is poor' dealt with CPI Khammam selecting a Medical College Owner as its candidate for MLC. Click here to go to post No. 635.

It may be accidental or incidental or coincidental, that Mr. Kankanala Narayana, General Secretary of CPI, Telangana State, also apparently belongs to the same caste as Shri Tammineni Veerabhadram.

418 Can a Communist Party / Marxist Party have Regional/Religious/Casteist sentiments?

In the context of the advent of separate Telangana, The CPI-M party has also formed two separate units for Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States.  Consequently, it seems that they decided to rename the Hyderabad edition of Prajasakti daily as 'Nava TelangANa'.   Ownership also might have changed.  Anyway, this triggered a minor controversy.  Whether Communist/ Marxist parties have organs such as news-papers and TV channels with Regional names?

A Marxist party is supposed to have goals of establishing a rule of proletariat (A Government of the Working Party).  It is not supposed to have regional or linguistic or religious or casteist, or some other, or some other sentiments.  Name ought reflect people and their great power.   Is this idea relevant?

When I saw the change of name- news in papers, instantaneously these questions have risen within me, and started tantalising me.  Immediately, I wanted to anayise the issue, but I could not implement the idea into action, because I was enamoured with Carnatic and Hindusthani Music.

Fortunately(??), this task of analyses, has been done by Respected Ranganayakamma gAru with great gusto.     I am giving an approximate English and Hindi translated gist, for the benefit of National, International readers.

Change the name - Ranganayakamma.

‘ప్రజాశక్తి’ పత్రిక పేరు ఇప్పుడు ‘నవ తెలంగాణ’గా మారబోతుందా? ఎందుకూ? పేరు మార్పు మీద మీమాంస అక్కర లేదనీ, ఇప్పుడు పరిస్తితులు మారాయి గనక పత్రిక పేరు మారుతోందనీ తెలకపల్లి రవి వివరించారు (జనవరి 29, ‘ఆంధ్రజ్యోతి).
Is Prajasakti newspaper's name going to change as 'nava telangANA' ?  Shri Telkapalli Ravi explained in January 29, Andhra Jyothi, that there is no need of dissection now, and that as circumstances have changed, the name of the news paper is changing.

Have the circumstances changed?  Are there no classes in TelangANa now?  Have all the class distinctions disappeared and did equitable society stabilise there?

Who are the people in the name 'prajASakti'?  Those people were working people.  People who were ruled.  The power of working class, is the 'prajASakti'.  Did that class disappear in telangANA?  The class differences between the ownership class and the working class exist, as they were earlier.  The party which named itself as 'Marxist', does it see its goal from the perspective of classes or from the perspective of regions?

It should have been the right thing for the Combined party, to name its newspaper as 'prajASakti', in the early days of adopting the Marxist theory.   The first retro-movement was to name the paper as 'ViSAlAndhra (Expansive Andhra)' , a name which indicates 'Region', with a view that both Andhra-telangANA join.  The Marxist Party, which parted its ways from the old combined party, at that time, named its newspaper 'prajASakti' , now shifting to telangANa with a regional perspective, is retrogression!

The Marxist party, which claims to be a party of (Working) Classes, how can it give its news paper, a name which bypasses the class perspective?  It will be apt and elegant, if the party, first abandons its 'Marxist' name, and then undertake all anti (working) class acts.  First thing should take place first.

ybrao-a-donkey's personal views:

Appropriateness of the the subdomain address of this blog http://problemsoftelugus.blogspot.com, has been tantalising me for a long time.

The object of my blog was also to highlight the problems of the poor, working class and the need for spreading the message of atheism and Marxism.

When I started this particular blog, I already had 60 other blogs devoted to numerous subjects such as Vivekananda, Ramayana, Mahabharata, Vairagya Satakam, Bhagavad Gita, Vemana Satakam, but most of them are in English.  None was in Telugu script.   Whoever I spoke to about my blogs was asking me for something in Telugu language and Telugu script.

At that time, Telangana movement was in full swing, with KCR & Co. daily dishing out foul language and profanities.  Google wanted minimum eight letters to permit a blog name.   Whatever name I sought, it got rejected by Google name-allocation software saying that it already existed.  Finally, I typed problemsoftelugus, which Google accepted.

Though I wanted to write only in Telugu language and Telugu script here , my natural instincts and penchant(s) revolved around all the four languages, whatever little I know-- English (international), Hindi (National), Telugu (Mother-tongue), Sanskrit + a little of Urdu (our socio-cultural scaffolding).  Thus, I converted this into a trilingual blog.  Apart from my other interests such as composing music, analysing Telugu ancient traditional poetry books (kAvyAs, itihAsas, prabandhAs, herbal cures, examination of modern medicine, denouncing homoeopathy, vAstu, jyothisham (astrology),  etc.), I have been trying to espouse the cause of working class.

Criticising KCR & Cos utterances, the  aspirations of the Telangana people hijacked by  KCR & Co for its selfish ends, etc. were mainly to highlight that they should not obstruct free movement of labor across the country which is not only a fundamental right as per Article 14, but also a human right.

This right of movement of labor is beyond boundaries- not only a small thing like State or Regional or Sub Regional boundaries, but also National and continental boundaries, oceanic boundaries.   We can see the problems which the European, North American, Australian (mostly white races!!!) are creating to obstruct the free movement of labor across this Mother Earth, in the name of immigration laws and rules.

I have also highlighted that there should not be any obstruction to purchase of very small pieces of land and homes by such moving millions.   There is difference between land sharks, Corporates and industrialists purchasing thousands of acres and individuals buying small pieces of  less than100 yards or 900 sq.ft. flats by individuals for their genuine residential and occupational needs.  Telangana leaders seem to be opposed even to this.

Communist Party of India (CPI), Maoists of various hues have actively sided with Telangana partitionists.  CPIM, though it did not actively support the division of the State, I believe that its complacency was not because it was (is) really neutral, but because of its friendship with Telugu Desam Party.  Actually, Communist Party, right from 1953, in the name of 'Visalandhra' and Telugu culture, blindly nurtured Telugu Regionalism, and Telangana sub Regionalism, deviating from the basic goal of promoting Equalism (I am not using the word Marxism because, there is a tendency to confuse it with the dictatorial regimes of Russia, China, Cuba, North Korea.).   NOWHERE Karl Marx advocated dictatorship of despots and tyrants.  The phrase of Marx-Angels 'dictatorship of proletariat', in my humble view meant, that there shall be a democracy involving only worker-parties, and not landlord-parties, Capitalist-parties, industrialist-parties, hereditary-parties, filmstar-led parties, cricketerled-parties.  Unfortunately, in countries like Russia, China, this term 'dictatorship of the proletariat' has been misused by despots and tyrants.  I may not be right in saying that Lenin, Stalin, Mao, Castro etc. were despots and tyrants, but their reigns ended up to be despotic and tyrannical, probably because the persons close to them were despotic and tyrannical, or because people/workers by their hero worship (owing to inadequate education , and owing to fantasies), encouraged the leaders to be despots and tyrants.

Even in democracy, we can have despots and tyrants.  If we see how Mr. Narendra Modi (earlier Sonia-Rahul), Chandra Babu Naidu, KCR & Co., YSR & Sons, Mulayam & Sons, Lalu & Co., Karuna & Sons, Gowda & Sons, Thakre & Co., ruled this country and the States in it?  Our Governments and leaders are nothing but despotic and tyrannical, in the masks of fake democracies.

While we can write a thousand pages about this, in the ultimate analyses, we can say that  labels and names we affix may not be of much importance, as long as original objectives are not given a farewell.  Of course, names may, sometimes, send wrong signals.  As Google does not allow me to change the name of this http://problemsoftelugus.blogspot.com sub-domain, I have changed the 'title of this blog' as 'Problems and Solutions'.  The problems and solutions need not be confined only to the problems of Telugu people.  The basic goal of promoting atheism and Equalism will remain.
