Ms. Brinda Karat is Polit Bureau Member of Communist Party of India (Marxist), India. She has a reputation of being a Senior and sincere CPM Worker. It's all so good. But, what I wish to highlight is, that she cannot speak like Mr. Arvind Kejriwal, Chief Minister of Delhi, and President of the Aam Aadmi Party, who is now facing a defamation case for some crores from Mr. Arun Jaitley, Hon. Finance Minister, and is in a quandary on how to pay the hefty fee of his counsel Shri Ram Jet Malany, amounting to Rs. 3.4 crore (Rs. 34 million) from the Delhi Exchequer. In India, these days are very hard days, for the Opposition Leaders. In Telugu language spoken by 100 million people across the world, there is a proverb: "urumu urimi mangalam mIda paDi naTlu' (Approx. English: The thunder thundered, and fell on the kiln for making popped grains (similar to popcorn). This proverb is used when some misfortune befalls on a person or a thing, who/which is not much connected with the falling object. Context: Right now, the concentration of our Hon. Prime Minister, our Hon. Finance Minister, and the BJP President, is focused on hardnut-to-crack challengers like Arvind Kejriwal, and Ms. Mamata Banerjee. Our BJP trio seems to expect that Ms. Mamata Banerjee will take care of controlling the resurrection of CPIM in West Bengal. Ms. Brinda Karat is reported to have commented as under, while speaking at the "Meet the Press" Program organised by Telangana Working Journalists Federation, Hyderabad on 20th May 2017.

CPIM should have a data bank of this type on its website, to enable its leaders as well as public to have a look at the method of defaulting. Else, there will be risk of facing unnecessary defamation suits, and other court cases. In Telugu language, there is a proverb 'rAju talucukunTE debbalaku koduvA? Approx. English: If the king wills (and orders), can there be scarcity of blows? Implication is that: kings may not bestow gifts, but he can shower baton blows.

CPIM cannot be like Congress and some other Regional Parties which are bent upon building Muslim and dalit vote banks. Though cow-protectors have become militant, prevention of cow, buffalo, camel, miltch-animal slaughter in the long run, makes India a gentler and nobler Nation, because cruelty to animals gets reduced. Beef, and some other meats which are being sold now in shops, and served in hotels, lack quality (quality neglected by everybody with eyes on profits), and such foods become 'rAjasa, tAmasa' Aharams. (Foods which make people arrogant, easily irritable, blood thirsty). When these foods get coupled with liquors, persons lose their self-control, and they will not hesitate to indulge in rapes, murders, tortures etc. CPIM can, NOT ON RELIGIOUS GROUNDS, but on SCARCITY OF RESOURCES grounds, try to convince people of all castes and religions to exercise some self-control in consuming beef.

But, people may not vote only in response to promises. Cash and Liquor, of course religious bigotry and fanatism, seem to be stronger than promises. Making unfulfillable promises, knowing them to be unfulfillable, is a trait of all political parties in India. Still, I wish that CPIM promises to people more hard-to-fulfill things like Removal of Private Property, Removal of Currency, State Capitalism, Treating every citizen as a Government Employee etc.

POlitical solutions may not work in Kashmir, because the militancy and terrorism in Kashmir, is propelled by money and men from not only Pakistan, but many other Gulf and Middle East countries. Military Action on POK is an important solution, even if it may be disastrous both to India and Pakistan.

Topic No.2. With no intent to hurt the sentiments of devotees and scholars

After studying the 'kalyANotsavam' program on SVBC TV channel, for about one year, from 12 noon to 1 pm, I am writing this. I appeal for forgiveness from devotees and scholars , if I am going to hurt their sentiments, by writing the following:

Submitting 'madhuparkams' during the wedding ceremony

SVBC channel, though broadcasts the ceremony live, 'commentary part', they seem to be playing recorded audio files. Two or three different commentators might have given these commentaries, as I hear, two or three different versions, on TV.

One commentator explains 'madhuparkams' are 'clothes/cloths (vastrams)'. Another commentator (example the commentary on 21.5.2017 wedding commentary) said that it is a preparation made of milk, honey, clarified butter etc.

Madhu means honey, and we can include preparations made of honey.
There is a general impression among the people of Andhra Pradesh, that 'madhuparkams' mean 'clothes/cloths'. During the ancient ages, madhuparkams seem to include even beef, as can be seen from the following quote:

Book: Sanskrit Drama Uttara Rama charitra, by Bhavabhuti mahAkavi, approx. 8th Century AD. Tritiya vishkambham. (3rd Intermission). Context: Disciples of Valmiki, by names Bhandayana and Saudamini were conversing with one another about the missing calf 'kalyANi kapili' and Sage vasishTha. సౌధాతకి: తేన పారపతితేన ఇవ సా పరాకీ కల్యాణీ కపిలా మడ మడాయితా.

మిక్కిలి గౌరవనీయులు, శ్రోత్రియులైన బ్రాహ్మణులు, అతిథి అభ్యాగతులు విచ్చేసినపుడు ఒక ఆవు దూడనో, గొప్ప వృషభాన్నో, లేక గొప్ప మేకనో గృహస్థులు వండుతూ ఉంటారు. ఇలాగా ధర్మసూత్రకారులు నిర్ణయించారు.

Meanings: Bahumanyamaana = standardised, recognised by many people. Aamnaayam = Vedas. That which is accompanied by flesh as "Madhuparkam" - this, the Vedas and the Codemakers (such as Bodhayana and Apasthambha) have standardised. Srootriya = A well-learned Brahmin who has been anointed with all the purificatory ceremonies (sanskaaras: prescribed religious ceremonies and vows such as celibacy, sacred thread etc. Brahmano, gneeyaha, sanskarai)). Abhyagata = guest who arrives without notice and stays not more than one night. (Eeka raatram eeva paragrihee nivasan, agnaatoo brahmanaha atidhi gnaatastee abhyaagataha). Vatsatari = calf. Mahooksham = big bull. Maha ajam = big goat. Grihamethina nirrapanti = house holders feed. Gist: Householders feed venerable scholars and guests with calfs or big bull or big goat. Thus the code-makers prescribed.

Though it may be a custom during the days of Valmiki, or Bhavabhuti, to serve revered priests, sages with preparations made of beef, we need not do it now in 21st Century.

I pray to the TTD Scholars , commentators to study the whole issue of 'madhu parkams' afresh.

I suggest that the the word 'madhuparkams' may be totally avoided during the commentaries. I suggest that we may use the words and phrases like 'vastram' samarpayAmi. 'madhu samarpayAmi'. 'kshIram samarpayami'. 'dadhi samarpayAmi'.

I am unable to trace the word 'parkam' in Sanskrit dictionaries. The TTD scholars can retry. The word 'parkam' seems to mean '(animal) skin'. In ancient times, animal skins might have been used as garments (and also as paper rolls). Probably, we might have got the word 'parchment' to mean thick paper, from this word 'parkam', though 'parchment' may have several other etymological roots. Thus parkams can mean clothes. Madhu can mean honey preparations. Madhuparkams can mean both honey preparations + textiles/fabrics. (dvandva samAsam). Anyway better to avoid the phrase 'madhuparkams'.

Sacred chants recited at the time of wearing 'sacred threads' to SridEvi and bhUdEvi

Some priests seem to be reciting three times each 'mAngalyam tantunAnEnA loka rakshaNa hEtavE, kanThe Badhnami...." and 'mAngalyam tantunAnEnA jIva rakshaNa hEtavE, kanThe Badhnami....' for SrIdEvi and bhUdEvi respectively. It used to be very clear about the ceremony. This practice seems to have been discontinued by some priests. (Eg. 21.5.2017, 12.30 pm approx.). If so, scholars have to examine the relative merits of the two methods.

LAST BUT NOT THE LEAST

The premises/compound where the kalyANotsavam (wedding ceremony) is being conducted, does not seems to have AT PROMINENT PLACES FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT. This ceremony may be in vogue since several Centuries, and no fire mishap might not have occurred so far. Audience/Spectators seem to be sitting in a crowded and congested manner. But there seems to be no alternative. But, we can do one thing. The grill gates behind the spectators seem to be closed, and probably locked. If that is true, if a fire mishap or a rumor of anything dangerous nature spreads, there will be stampedes, resulting in loss of lives. I hope the new EO will look into this, and arrange for some FIRE DRILLS, installation of FIRE FIGHTING EQUIPMENT WITH CO2 CYLINDERS, KEEP THE REAR GATES OPEN,TRAINING TO COMMENTATORS ON HOW TO GUIDE SPECTATORS IN THE EVENT OF MISHAPS/RUMORS OF MISHAPS.

930 The 4200 km. strain-stress full walkathlon (pAda yAtra) of Shri Tammineni Veerabhadram,CPIM General Secretary, Telangana, may get a few seats for CPIM, but it will not bring Communism/Marxism/Socialism to India

On the occasion of completion of the 4200 kms. of Walkathlon of Shri Tammineni Veerabhadram, General Secretary, Telangana State, of Communist Party of India Marxist, a jumboree like flood-lit mass meeting has been organised in Hyderabad, which has been addressed by Mr. Pinarayi Vijayan, Chief Minister, Kerala State. The Mass Meeting resembled the jumborees organised by bourgeoisie parties like TRS, BJP, TDP and Congress. It is not clear, who has provided funds to them for organising the jumboree. Ordinarily, bourgeoisie parties, when they organise jumborees, collect their funds from Corporates, Forest, Liquor, and Mining Contractors. It may not be possible for Proletarian Parties to collect such type of huge donations from Corporates and Contractors, because they have very few prospects of coming to power. A few years back, CPI Khammam arranged a grand jumboree in Khammam. Later, it emerged that Communist Parties in Khammam got their funds from Liquor Contractors. That issue was under police investigation,along with some other liquor cases which included some belt shops said to be benami-owned by Shri Botsa Satyanarayana, for sometime. Finally, everything was swept into/under the carpet.

925 Daunting task before Leftist Parties in India, especially CPI and CPIM, with no matching genuine effort on their part

This photo, courtesy hmtvlive.com shows Shri Tammineni Veerabhadram, General Secretary, Telangana State, of the CPIM (Communist Party of India Marxist), on his walking campaign in Mahabubnagar District of Telangana State. I greatly appreciate the physical strains he is taking ostensibly to strengthen his party in Telangana State, and also to criticise the despotic rule of Shri K. Chandrasekhara Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana, his son, his nephew, his daughter, and his follower. So far so good. Because of strenuous efforts of Shri Veerabhadram, his party may win one or two seats in the 2019 Election to Telangana Assembly, or INdia's Parliament. Okay, but will that be sufficient? In India, at the National level, there is a vacuum. People are highly dissatisfied with both the top National Parties and their associates i.e. BJP, NDA, Congress, UPA, Shiv Sena, and Regional Parties which support them. This is a beautiful opportunity for Left Parties to fill the vacuum, by 2019. There is two years time. By that time, if people are dissatisfied with BJP, Congress, and the Regional Parties, Left Parties should be able to fill the gap. But they are not ready. There are numerous issues which affect the functioning of Leftist Parties in India, and impair the capabilities of the Left Parties to come to power at Center.

Communist Parties in India seem to have as leaders, only persons belonging to castes which are 'landed' and wealthy. Of course, those leaders may be exceptions from their castes, in the sense that they might have made sacrifices for their party, and they may be serving 24/7/365 their parties 'gratis' (without receiving / expecting any remuneration). But justice should not only be done, but also appear to have been done. CPI and CPIM, and other Leftist Parties have to give a thought to the aspect of JUSTICE APPEARING AS BEING DONE.

One method of JUSTICE to make APPEARING TO BE DONE, IN CHOOSING PARTY LEADERS

When elections are conducted in 'meetings' where proposers and seconders have to stand and put forward their candidate openly, very few members dare to propose and second candidates who do not belong to the group organising the meetings, funding the meetings, and conducting the elections. The very idea of organising meetings, funding the meetings and rallies of the party, is to get elected as a key Office bearer.

THERE SHOULD BE NO NEED OF NOMINATIONS TO GET ELECTED

Every registered eligible voter may be considered as a candidate automatically. His membership number can be taken as his identify, and as his election symbol. Every ballot paper can contain all the membership numbers, and names of the voters of Constituency, and voters may be requested to tick the number of the candidate, whom they want to elect.

As nominations are dispensed with, it is to be presumed, that primarily every voter has given his consent to be a candidate and get elected.

SECRET BALLOT MUST BE MADE COMPULSORY, so that voters can vote frankly and fearlessly.

After getting elected, if any voter wants not to take up the post, if there are significant genuine reasons for such refusal, fresh elections may be conducted for that post.

ERRONEOUS BELIEF THAT CASTEISM IS RAMPANT ONLY IN INDIA

It is a misconception to believe that casteism prevails only in India. It is Universal. In India, Casteism is much talked about, and the word 'caste' is unnecessarily and exceedingly used by the Government Departments, Corporations, and Govt. Companies. Inquiring about caste, where somebody seeks special benefits on the ground of his belonging to a particular socially backward caste, is understandable. In such cases, inquiring about caste should come up, when the context arises.

WHY REFERENCE TO CASTE IN Police First Information Reports, and Statements obtained from Witnesses?

This custom might have started during the British Rule or even earlier. Today, almost all Police Stations in India, while obtaining First Information Reports, and Statements from Witnesses, invariably refer at the beginning itself to the caste of the complainant/witnesses. Police can inquire about caste of complainants / accused / witnesses when need arises during investigation. Asking caste, should not be a starting point for obtaining statements from witnesses. Caste may become important, when a question of customs-traditions, applicable law arises, but that should be an item of secondary trigger, not primary trigger.

ROLE OF CASTEISM IN APPOINTMENT OF HIGH COURT JUDGES IN ANDHRA PRADESH, AND SUPREME COURT JUDGES FROM ANDHRA PRADESH

Are Telugu channels in India, mostly owned by persons belonging to same caste?

My father is about 90 years old. As he needs my assistance in watching TV, I spend about 3 hours every evening with him, for operating remote, while skipping through ubiquitous advertisements. Fortunately, SVBC Channel of TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam) is one channel which in its nAda nIrAjanam program (A program of approaching the God, hailing him through 'sound and music' [i.e. Indian Classical Music and Dance, both of Carnatic (South Indian) and Hindusthani (North Indian) genre], does not cause 'khEd' with intervening advertisements. Advertisements are broadcast at the end of program, and not in the middle. My father spends lot of time on Telugu News Channels. I mostly depend on Deccan Chronicle, English Newspaper, print edition, to quench my thirst for news.

While operating the remote to help my father through Telugu News channels, Sakshi TV channel, and 10 TV Channel drew my attention. Sakshi TV Channel is exceptional because it is owned by Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, and the YSRCP Party. Naturally it is anti Andhra Pradesh Government. 10TV channel, it drew my attention, because it appeared to me that they were giving special preference to Shri Tammineni Veerabhadram, his walking Campaign, and his speeches. As far as advertisements are concerned 10TV is not different from other news channels. That doubt has been clarified and resolved today, by googling.

I have no special love or hate towards 'kammas' or any other caste/religion in Telugu lands or in India. But, see the coincidence, how almost all the TV Channels are owned by only one DOMINANT CASTE OF COASTAL ANDHRA PRADESH.

829 (Part 6/10 total) DEMONETIZATION OF RS. 500 NOTES - SOME QUOTES AND COMMENTS

This is in continuation of post No. 828 (part 5/10). Click to go to 828. I am collecting quotes relating to this demonetization both from net, and from common people in streets. The real problem of 2016 November is; Rs. 500 is not a high denomination currency. It is held by common people everywhere, as ATMs dispense mostly Rs. 500 notes only, and few Rs. 100 notes as a remnant filler. Example: If Rs. 10,000 is drawn, customer will get Rs. 500x19, and Rs. 100x5, total Rs.10,000/-. Thus, Rs. 100s have been relegated to margins, and Rs. 500s are on the main track. Though Rs. 500 may be a stalking denomination, it is also a common-man's note, for day's expenditure.

"...Every petrol pump will accept notes of Rs 1000 & Rs 500 till 11 Nov, I appeal all to kindly coordinate: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. ..."

Today I went to a photocopy and DTP Centre. They have A4 size stickers on walls that Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 notes will not be accepted. There I found four employees working. The employees there get salaries of around Rs. 5,000 per month. That is less than Rs. 200 per day. Two Puri-s in tea stalls cost Rs. 28/-. The Employer photocopy-DTP owner came forward to give them Rs. 500/- to buy puris. But the Rs. 500/- note cannot buy them Puri-s. But they can buy petrol!

ybrao-a-donkey's humble view: True, the Economy will become cashless. Rich people will exchange gold, diamonds, silver, art-paintings, antiques, for their transactions of receipts and payments. That was the custom around 300 years back.

Poor people will go back to barter system. They will give a bagful of cotton, and get some rice equal to it in exchange. Salt can become money. Conch Shells can become money. Rudraksha fruits can become money. There is no compulsion for poor people to use banks. Though there will be some initial difficulties in a cashless and bank-less society people have the ingenuity to work out solutions.

Counterfeit notes from Pakistan is a great menace. Demonetization can to some extent remedy it. But, lot of home work should have been done, to make demonetization SWIFT. It should not become a roller-coaster ride.

Publicise cost of demonetization: Left tells Modi Calling the government decision to demonetize higher denomination notes as a "gimmick", the CPM on Wednesday demanded the cost of withdrawing currency notes to be made public. "What is the cost of withdrawing currency notes and replacing them with Rs 2,000 notes? Also, its economic and social costs must be made public," he said, dubbing the move to be another "jumla"."What are the estimates of black money that will be curbed by this move? yb-donkey: CPM does not seem to be acting on right track. Criticism should not be for criticism sake. There is nothing wrong with demonetization per se, even cost-benefit-wise. The problem is with lack of planning. Demonetization both for overcoming black-money and counterfeit-currency notes, needs lot of advance preparation. Banks must have sufficient staff, machines to handle contingencies. Proper procedures,forms for submission are to be designed. Haphazard execution will cause great difficulties to poor and aged persons holding Rs. 500 notes, while rich tycoons scape through unhurt, using loopholes, and surrogates. Example 1: Poor old women may hide their small accumulated lifetime savings in 1 or 10 Rs. 500 notes in the roof of their thatched homes. They will get sudden shock of their lives when they come to know, that they are worthless pieces of papers. Example 2: A rich person can send hired persons giving them Rs. 4,000 each to Bank counters, if Rs. 4,000 is ceiling for on-the-counter conversion.

The dividing line between a "jumla (election stunt or gimmick)", and a genuine action is very thin. What appears as genuine action may become a jumla, and what appears to be a jumla may be a genuine act. Hence, it becomes necessary for us to support Mr. Narendra Modi for both of his surgical strikes on Parkistan Borders, and the Demonetization. The problem is with the timing and methodology.

yb-donkey: There may not be any such need. People will design their own methods of "new money" such as barter, and also new methods for "storing value". Earlier gold, silver, precious stones were serving this purpose right from the YudhishThira days when King Marut stored his gold below Himalayas (as per mythology). Today, even 'real-estate' serves as a storage value, They have already staged a come back. Even if they become scarce, new materials/substances/ modes can be found. However, acquiring real estate for 'storage value of money' will become a problem, because of Government's restrictions. Yet, different forms of money- distinct from paper money, can be evolved, have been evolved since long. Here, the adage "Necessity is the mother of invention" will apply.

Between 2011-2016, circulation of all other denominations has grown by 40%. But, circulation of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 grew by 76% and 109% respectively: Shaktikanta Das, Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Govt. of India.

yb-donkey: Black-money holders are as intelligent as Mr. Narendra Modi, if not more, some of them, intelligent than him. Temporarily they may lose some piece/peace of mind, because they have not anticipated the risk, and actively converted their TOTAL money into some other medium. Intelligent Black-money holders might have already sufficiently hedged themselves. It is not possible to get 100% protection anywhere, through any method. For that reason alone, there is a proverb: "Do not keep all your eggs in one basket". And they might have already kept their eggs in different baskets, except innocent persons who are not intelligent enough to hedge themselves. Even if they lose one basket of eggs, they only lose partially, for which there is no need to get heart-attack. Only foolish black-money holders keep all their money in Rs.500-1000 currency bundles. But, these additions made in the qxw autofill, will only be temporary. In a way the 'temporary' addition is an advantage, in the sense that we can temporarily add more and more dictionaries, such as Sports Dictionaries for creating a Sports Crossword, Film Dictionaries for Film CrossWords. In otherwords, we can create Specialised Crossword Puzzles in specific subjects.

CPM does not seem to have learnt anything from the Supreme Court quashing the 2006 Singur Land Acquisition made by the Left Front Bengal Government led by CPM, to hand over the land to Tatas, for erecting a car factory. CPM went wrong in their forced land acquisition at Singur, because they were siding with the industrialists, to deny an intensely cultivated land to farmers. Soon after the Supreme Court Judgement, CPM ought to have apologised to the Bengal farmers and the Indian Nations, and ought to have promised to guard against recurrences. The Left Leaders seem to have an ego, apart from nursing a misconception hitherto a manic only to bourgeoisie parties and Governments, that rapid industrialisation heralded only by private industrialists alone can generate employment. "Private employment" as a solution to the problems of unemployment and poverty, is misguided and a fallacy.

Opportunity has arrived in the form of Supreme Court judgement, to enable CPM to correct its historical blunders and ways. But, the egoistic CPM Leadership seems to have failed to take up the cue.

Referring to the comment of Surjya Kant Mishra, CPM Secretary, Bengal, one can only ask: "What is going to be the difference in INdia, between a Bourgeosie Party and a Leftist Party?"

Is Supreme Court Industrialist-unfriendly, or Industrialist-friendly?

Ans. Neither. Supreme Court Judgments tend to depend on fancies of the Judges sitting on the Judge, this of course, Collegium may not agree.

Almost all the State Governments, and the Government of India, seem to believe in massive Land Acquisitions, maintaining land banks, and handing over huge swathes of lands to private industrialists either direct, or through the technic of SEZs (Special Economic Zones, IT Parks (Information Technology Parks), Industrial Corridors.

Now, the bourgeoisie Governments of the States, with the help of the industrialist-friendly Central Government, will try to make new laws, issue more ordinances, to nullify the outcomes from the Supreme Court Judgement.

POSITION IN ANDHRA PRADESH

The Government of Residual Andhra Pradesh acquired hundreds of thousands of acres of land from farmers, directly under Land Acquisition Procedures, and also through armtwisting the farmers through Land Pooling Scheme.

Supreme Court Judgements unfortunately tend to be non-repetitive, unstable. Non-Singur farmers, Farmers of other States in India, should not build much hopes.

781 We should appreciate the courage of Ms. Jagmati Sanwar in resisting CPM Central Committee

This is in continuation of our blogpost No. 758 dated 21st May 2016, wherein we have discussed some of the problems ailing the CPIM (Communist Party of India, Marxist). The title of the blogpost is: 758 CPIM is continuing the same disastrous and undemocratic practices of Congress and BJP ! Lacks internal democracy. Now, at least one courageous person in the CPIM Central Committee, Ms. Jagmati Sanwar, General Secretary of AIDWA has come out openly against the manner in which the CPIM Central Committee was violating its own Party-line of not having any truck with Congress, by forging alliances with Congress, in West Bengal. The debacle of CPM in the 2016 Bengal Assembly Elections, has sufficiently proved that unhealthy alliances with borgeoisie parties in the name of preventing /displacing some other bourgeoisie party do not pay. It appears that the Central Committee Members from Bengal have opposed the use of the word "violating" party-line in the Resolution of postmortem of losing the Elections in Bengal, and threatened to resign.

Here is a newsreport dated the 25th June 2016 from ndtv.com, which summarises what seems to have happened in CPIM Central Committee Meeting, and the circumstances which seem to have led to resignation of Ms. Jagmati from the Central Committee (according to her: resignation) and expulsion of Ms. Jagmati from the Central Committee (according to Party: expulsion for gross indiscipline).

And a huge majority said it was a violation... ... But today, when it concluded on the basis of the discussion… they said we will be deleting this violation word because Bengal secretary Surjya Kanta Misra and senior leaders like Bimanda [Bose] said we (they) will resign if you (cpm) keep this term. Even the general secretary [Sitaram Yechury] was against it. I said no, it is not acceptable, at least to me. I said I resign from the central committee and party membership and I walked out,

Ms. Jagmati Sangwan has taken a courageous decision.

She need not worry about weakening Communist or Socialist Movements in India.

She can try to promote a new Communist / Socialist / Democratic Socialist Party in India, which should include not only women, but also men.

Just as there are large number of bourgeoisie political parties in India, we can have large number of Communist / Socialist / Democratic Socialist Parties. I do not support the idea of unification of Communist Parties or having only one or two Communist Parties. Such step will only lead to monopolies and oligopolies in socialist arena.

In fact, totalitarianism is the bane of Communism, worldwide. At least in India, let us make a beginning of working against and dispelling the general impression of Communism / Socialism / Marxism involves dictatorships and totalitarianism.

CPIM seems to be suffering from loss of geographical spread. It sems to be excessively depending on its West Bengal and Kerala Units. For the time being it may be strong in West Bengal and Kerala. But CPIM Central Leadership should not forget that theirs is an All India Party, with defined set of principles. Opportunism and Regionalism cannot have places and prominence in the principles and party-lines. At any cost, inner party democracy cannot be sacrificed, in the name of gross indiscipline. One tool for deriving benefits from inner party democracy is through use of secret ballots at every level, where everything will be put to test through secret ballots, with a clear understanding that loss of something in ballot is not an end in itself, and after sometime, another attempt can be made.

PROBLEMS OF RELIANCE ON ONE OR TWO STATES

Mr. Jayaprakash Narayan, a Retd. I.A.S. Officer had started a Party by name Lok Satta. As JPN is from erstwhile United Andhra Pradesh, it had a good base in defunct United A.P.

Later, he wanted to convert Lok Satta into an All India Party, with Office at Delhi. Mr. JPN seems to have had some dreams of developing his party on the lines of A.A.P.

A.A.P (Aam Admi Party) too have dreams of emerging as an All India Party. But its base is only in Delhi and Punjab.

Already there are divisions and splits in A.A.P., culminating in expulsion of Yogendra Yadav, Prashanti Bhushan et al. Now, AAP (Kejriwal) is still continuing with its dreams. If Mr. Kejriwal inserts more South Indian leaders into AAP Central Committee, there is always a danger of revolt from Delhi and Punjab leaders, whose sweat the successes of AAP in Delhi and Punjab, which Mr. Kejriwal enjoys.

Back to Lok Satta, one gets an impression that Shri JPN wanted to give a greater role to his Delhi Associates, which seems to have been resisted by the A.P. Lok Satta Leaders. It appears that Mr. JPN wanted to have his say as founder of the party. Somehow, things did not workout, and the party seems to have been shelved or inactive.

ONE SOLUTION

It will be better if parties in India are organised NOT ON THE BASIS OF GEOGRAPHICAL UNITS, but ON THE BASIS OF DIFFERENT CLASSES OF PROLETARIAT such as farm workers, fishermen, rural artisans, metal workers, shop clerks, street vendors, construction workers, etc. etc. The different classes can be made of equal representation, size, by expert studies of various occupations and profession in India.

At grassroot level, units need not be organised in the traditional mode of village units, ward level units, or polling booth level units. Parties can take every group of 10 members of the same occupation/profession as one grassroot unit, and its leader can be called "daSamukh". A leader of ten such groups can be called "Satamukh". Ten Satamukhs can make a Sahasramukh. Thus leaderships and structures have to rise from bottom to the top, through a system of secret ballots.

NOT EASY TO START AND RUN NEW POLITICAL PARTIES IN INDIA

It is not easy to start and run new political parties in India, both bourgeoisie and Socialist. While the bourgeoisie parties may do anything they like because they need not worry about ethics, Socialist Parties have to explore ways and means of organising parties without COSTS. CPIM has recently organised a motorcycle rally in Vijayawada. Who will pay the cost of petrol? Party workers participating in such rallies will lose one day wages, they have to bear the cost of petrol, they have to neglect their families. For its Meeting at Vijayawada, CPIM might have collected funds from somebody or other without verifying their source of income. For example, there is an allegation against CPI that it collected donations from Liquor Contractors in Khammam District for organising its Meeting there.

Workers and Proletarian Parties have greater ethical responsibilities when compared to Mainline parties.

757 LEFT PARTIES WILL ACHIEVE NOTHING BY WINNING KERALA

In 2016 Elections for Left Assembly, results indicate that Left Front has won. All India CPM Leaders, Mr. Sitaram Yechury and Mr. Prakash Karat may be having tears of joy (Ananda bAshpams) in one eye for winning in Kerala, and tears of grief (rakta kannIru) for losing in Bengal. Even in Kerala, there are going to be in-fightings between the factions of Shri Achyutanandan its 92 years old Opposition Leader, and Shri Pinarayi Vijayan, its 71 years old Election Campaigner. ABOUT LOSS IN BENGAL

Irrespective of successes or failures at the outings in the Elections to the Bengal Assembly, All India CPM, and its Bengal Unit, should not have entered into electoral adjustments with Congress. This is not because India is to have CONGRESS-MUKT-BHARAT (India liberated from the Congress Party), but because, such adjustments conflict with Marxist and Socialist goals. The real goal should be BOURGEOISIE PARTIES MUKT BHARAT.

By aligning with Congress in Bengal, CPM's top Leadership and its Bengal Unit have sent a very very bad message to the Bengal voters, that CPM is not truly leftist.

ABOUT VICTORY IN KERALA

There will be nothing to rejoice about this victory, irrespective of whether Shri Achyutanandan or Shri Pinarayi Vijayan becomes Chief Minister.

REASONS: State Governments in India cannot, really, do anything. Most Indian States are financially bankrupt, with probable exception of Maharashtra and Telangana. Indian Constitution and Indian Laws place larger burdens on States, when compared to Government of India. But whenver some good development takes place, Centre may try to take credit for that growth.

The performances of States are crippled by Centre, which interprets every event/incident which takes place in a State, on the basis of whether the State is ruled by itself (Party In Power) or ruled by Opposition. Everything done by a State ruled by an Opposition Party will be wrong in the eyes of the PIP at Centre.

In Telugu language, there is a verse by 13th Century Telugu poet 'Baddena', in his Sumati Satakam (A collection of 100 verses).

EXAMPLE OF SLAVERY OF MR. CHANDRA BABU NAIDU

Centre's help in all matters is undependable, even if a State supports party in Power at Centre. Example: Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu acts like a slave of the PIP at Centre. He has his TDP Cabinet Minister in the Union Cabinet. Yet, the PIP at Centre has gone back from the promises made by its own leaders, and the items included in its own Manifesto, on the help to be given to the Residual Andhra Pradesh, which was made a sort of orphan both by BJP and Congress jointly, by passing Bifurcation Bill in Lok Sabha, closing doors of the House.

STORY OF WOLF AND GOAT

In Telugu language, there is also a legendary story of 'wolf and goat'. Its gist:

A goat was drinking water at a stream. A wolf found it, and it wanted to kill it. It said to the goat:

'You are polluting the water which I am drinking. Hence, I shall punish you.'

The goat replied: 'I am drinking water downstream. You are drinking water upstream. How can I contaminate your drinking water?'

The wolf said: 'This stream belongs to our ancestors. You are stealing water from my property. Hence I shall punish you.'

The foolish goat ought to have run away. In the meantime, the wolf finished the goat.

The recent introduction of President's rule in Arunachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand proves this intolerance of the PIPs Centre (irrespective of whether Congress is in power or BJP is in power). History proves it: The first non-Congress Government of Nambudripad in Kerala, was removed during Nehru-Indira Gandhi regime.

WHAT SHOULD BE THE RIGHT COURSE for LEFT PARTIES?

Left parties should contest only Lok Sabha Elections to start with. They should concentrate only on principles of Marxism and Socialism. They must try to convince people about the advantages of REMOVING RIGHT TO PRIVATE PROPERTY, CONVERTING PRAYER HOUSES INTO RICE GODOWNS, CREATION OF CONSTITUENCIES ON THE BASIS OF PROLETARIAT CLASSIFICATION INSTEAD OF GEOGRAPHICAL CONSTITUENCIES, REDUCING THE IMPORTANCE OF RELIGION (probably conversion of prayer houses into food grain godowns), REMOVAL OF THE INSTITUTION OF MARRIAGE, BRINGING UP ALL CHILDREN IN STATE-CARE, REMOVAL OF MONEY etc. etc..

The doubts of people should be cleared. It will not be easy to convince people. Yet, intellectual upgradation of the people alone, is the solution, even if it be late.

WHAT WILL BE THE appropriate TIME FOR LEFT PARTIES TO CONTEST TO ASSEMBLIES?

Winning in States and Rajya Sabha are also important for introducing drastic Constitutional Amendments. But coming into power in States, without coming into power at Centre will be futile. Proof: After ruling Bengal for nearly 35 years, CPM has finally reached where? It could not satisfy people. Today, both the people of Bengal, and Indian Citizens outside Bengal, blame CPM for the under-development in Bengal, as if other States are paragons of virtue, and Bengal alone is a hell.

This is in continuation of blogpost No. 715 (Click to go to 715) , which dealt with the review of Mr. Pranab Mukherjee's book "The Tumultous Years" by Senior Journalist and Former Indian Hich Commissioner in London, Shri Kuldip Nayar. A learned friend of mine has sent me an email, containing his esteemed comment, which I am reproducing below.

Mr. Kuldip Nayar has forgotten the fact that this bourgeoisie country cannot produce giants in honesty and virtuosity. The essence of Indian politics is a person will have to stick himself on to his chair inseparably with "glue".

ENGLISH Gist FOR THE TELUGU LANGUAGE OBSERVATION ABOVE:Sir,
Nripen Chakravarti, Nambudripad, Achyutanandan; Manik Circar, Sundaraiah, Devulapalli Sitaramaiah, ____ persons like these won't they have these qualities? (these qualities = Qualities of honesty and virtuosity).

First: My apologies to my Readers. When I wrote that "this bourgeoisie country cannot produce giants in honesty and virtuosity", I have slipped, and made a sweeping statement, for a country, ignoring the fact that there can always be exceptions. What I wrote about is about bulk, and not about exceptions.

Besides, I am too small a fry, and too incompetent to comment about, or pass value judgements about those who made significant contributions to the Society.

Yet, I am tempted to make the following observations.

1. We can't get perfect white or black scenarios, particularly with regard to qualities of celebrities, leaders, individuals, common persons. There are always gray areas, which need careful studies.

In Sanskrit language, there is a maxim, "pramAdO dhImatApi" (English: Even courageous virtuous minded persons can slip.). For example, the Mahabharata Hero Arjuna appears to be a person of great self-control, when Urvasi approached him to love her, during his visit to Heaven (Of course, this is a story, heaven may not exist). The same Arjuna, when he taught dances to Princess Uttara in Virata's employment, sold "old sarees" in the dance hall (nartana SAla) and gave the money to Sairandhri (their wife) and his brothers. In the same way when Arjuna claimed himself to be DHANANJAYA (one among his ten names), and gave explanation for his name as one "who conquered countries, pooled all the treasures brought from there, and stood on that heap or hill", only gullible persons can take Arjuna as a Hero.

This is because, globally, historically, plunderers and marauders who declared themselves as conquerers and Emperors were considered as Heros (Example: Alexander the Great). Besides, perspectives also change, according to National Aspirations. For example, Ghazni Mohammed is viewed as a Hero in Pakisthan, whereas he is regarded as an invader in India.

Then, studying in depth, requires lot of effort and time, for which nobody compensates either in terms of money, or in terms of due recognition. In the meantime, we become old and die. Yet, this "study in depth (sometimes it may even extend to a suspicious investigation)" becomes an imperative inevitable need for our lives, because we have to stay afloat as sensible individuals.

For example, some years back, a friend of mine approached me with a proposal that I should become an AgriGold Agent (2016: A case is going on in Andhra Pradesh against Agrigold, for swindling thousands of investors. It is like the Sharadha Chits Scam of Bengal.). As a Retired Banker, I had from my experiences and observations developed a suspicious mind, and I declined his offer. Instead, I tried to dissuade him from going into the untested waters of Agrigold. Necessity and Hope make people to enter into adventures. Occasionally, we used to come across on Roads, and he used to say, "you have mistakenly distrusted AgriGold which is flourishing".

Though I am not supposed to make value judgements on Great Leaders like Puchalapalli Sundaraiah, who used to, as an MP, go to Lok Sabha Sessions, on his bicycle, when everybody else went on cars, -- yet I am tempted to make one minor preliminary observation, which I may revise after further studies.

It is a historical fact that the Combined CPI got divided into CPI, and CPI(M) after the Chinese Invasion of India of 1962. Shri Sundaraiah sided with CPM, who regarded themselves as more leftist when compared to the CPI led by Dange. For the new CPI, Russia and Indira Gandhi were dearer. For the CPIM, Mao-tse-Tung, the Dictator of China became the Supreme God, notwithstanding the territorial ambitions of China, and its "without-notice" occupation of Arunachal Pradesh and Ladakh.

SOME PERSONAL EXPERIENCE of ybrao-a-donkey

Time frame was between 1963 to 1967 March. They were the post-split years of CPI into CPI and CPIM. All the three summers of the years were blisteringly and terribly hot. In those days, Guntur, a City of about 300,000 inhabitants, used to have a large number of thatched huts. I as a boy studying IX to XII, used to live with my parents, in a palmyrah hut measuring 10' x 12' or 12' x 13'. It was raised on a rented vacant house site @ Rs.3 per month. We can't, now a get a plate of idlis for Rs. 3/-. During those summers, there used to be frequent burning of huts in Krishna and Guntur Districts, and particularly in Guntur. People used to attribute those hut-fires to the rivalries between the two factions of the Communists. There also used to be a rumor that miscreants carrying cloth squibs drenched with 'phosphorous' and wetted with water, were throwing the squibs on huts. These wet phosphorus squibs after landing on the thatched roofs of huts, were said to be getting ignited owing to evaporation of water and sun's heat, resulting in fires. Hence, people living in huts in vulnerable areas used to be careful during middays and afternoons to guard against eventualities of fires. Whenever huts caught fire in neighboring localities, other hut-dwellers used to climb to the thatched roofs and pour water on palmyra leaves, using buckets. I too, a few times climbed our hut and poured water on our roof. At that time, we used to live beside the 'owned' house of a famous Telugu poet. While pouring water on the roof, I for relaxation, used to mutter on my lips, the heart-rending verses of that Telugu poet. On one such midday, the Telugu poet came to our hut, and advised us that we should with our hut move to somewhere else. I was astonished and stupefied to hear his words. He had his own genuine worry. If our huts catch fire, his adjacent house, though made of bricks and lime, may catch fire. After all, every human has to worry about himself , before worrying about others, whether he is a poet or film star. I didn't reply him. After giving his advice, the Poet went back into his home.

Amidst this environment, when my mind was agitated and hurt, an elderly gentleman who, as far as I can recollect, used to work in District Police Office, advised me to study Communism and Marxism in depth, if I have to mature as an individual, and understand the environment.

As per his advice I started studying Communism and Marxism. During my studies, one inner conflict which had irked and pinched me constantly and incessantly, were the facts of Chinese invasion of Tibet, and India, when Mao-tse-Tung was such a Great Champion of the Underdogs. Though I studied about the so called "Long March", in my early years believed in its "Greatness" , I became sceptical about itin the subsequent years, after studying about it in depth. The same is the case with Lenin's compromises with Adolph Hitler.

Thus, I could never appreciate Sarvashri Shri Sundaraiah, Ran Dhave, Jyothi Basu, Nambudripad, Harkishan Singh Surjeet, et al, siding with China, notwithstanding its IMPERIALISTIC TENDENCIES. In respect of imperialistic tendencies, I could never find any difference among 1) the Colonial European and North American Powers, 2) the USSR-East European allies, 3) and the Chinese Communism.

During the later-period splits of CPIM, its off-springs such as Naxals, CPIML various groups, have openly declared themselves as MAOISTS, without thinking much into the failures of Mao.

Today, if we see the events which are taking place in South Chinese Sea, we can understand the greedy ambitions of China. Vietnam was a former ally of China. But today, China is not sparing Vietnam. The funniest thing is, both China and Vietnam have drifted far away Communism, though both LABEL themselves Communist countries. A few months back, a Convention was held in New Delhi, the occasion was 90th Anniversary of CPI, in which Vietnamese Communist Party leaders participated. Our Great Shri D. Raja hailed Vietnam. (Pl. see Post NO.619 Click if you wish to see 619. Leaving aside its external territorial ambitions, and its Financial Wars with United States, is China really Communist within its own territory? Definitely NOT.

Hence, beware of Role-Models !

Question: How does, what you wrote about your personal experience with the famous Telugu poet, relate itself to Indian History, or to the History of Andhra Pradesh?

Ans: This type of personal experiences with celebrities and famous persons are not unique only to me. I do not hold any monopoly on such experiences. The purpose of my writing my personal experience is to explain how different classes view differently, irrespective of their castes, religions, regions, and cultures. For example, as a hut dweller, my fears were different from the perceptions and apprehensions of the famous Telugu poet who lived in an adjacent stronger terraced house, which is relatively fire-resistant.

My readers can refer to Deccan Chronicle English Daily dated 25th June 2016, the archive item "50 years ago in Deccan Chronicle". In other words, the recall of the news pertains to 25th June 1966. At that time Mrs. Indira Gandhi was the Prime Minister. Place: Vijayavada - Guntur area.

The Prime Minister Mrs. Indira Gandhi expressed deep distress at the fire accidents in this town and villages around.

Laying the foundation stone of the Jawahar Auto Nagar here, the Prime Minister said that many steps would have to be taken to prevent such fires from occurring again.

She said that for prevention of fires, fireproof material would have to be used in house construction, roads widened to check spread of fires, and better fire-fighting services have to be established.


Addressing a Public Meeting, the Prime Minister, declared that top priority would be given to agriculture and irrigation.

711 Is CPIM a bourgeoisie Party? Bengal CPM Secretary seems to be in a hurry to become CM !

The dividing line between Left Parties and the bourgeoisie parties has already disappeared. There is a proverb in Telugu: "Aru nelalu sahavAsam cEstE vALLu vILLavutAru, vILLu vALLavutAru.". English gist: If 'A' and 'B' make friendship for six months, 'A' will become 'B' and, 'B' will become 'A'. There will be a sort of "double de-composition" we see in Chemistry formulae. Craze can make Left Leaders speak and act in a more 'bourgeoisie' manner, than the traditional bourgeoisie parties.

Shri Surjya Kanta Mishra, CPM Secretary, Bengal, we can probably classify in that category of A becoming B, and B becoming A. He is reported to have said:

"...The first thing we will do is withdraw the case against the Tatas in Singur. We will create an industry-friendly climate..." One doubt which may come to us most of us, in the context of Bengal elections: Did CPM get any donations from Tatas? In India Today, parties can run only if they spend in elections, by collecting funds from industrialists and business persons.

In 2011, CPM lost power by befriending with Tatas, and alienating farmers. TMC seized the opportunity, befriended farmers and opposed Tatas, and captured power.

Industrialists and Business Persons want land. They do not mind even if it is snatched away from small and marginal farmers. Bengal is a land-scarce State. Be it TMC or CPM, where will they get land for pampering industrialists, without snatching it from small farmers?

India is a land-scarce country vis-a-vis its population. Bengal is a land-scarce state vis-a-vis its population.

Question: During the nearly 37 years of CPM rule when Mr. Jyothi Basu and Mr. Buddhdeb Bhattacharya were Chief Ministers, Bengal stagnated. It lost its prime place in the commercial and industrial map of India. Today, it is rotting. Do you want to bring back the rotting culture?

Ans: Industrialists accumulate land for speculative purposes, by inflating their land needs. For example, if they need 100 acres to establish a factory, they will make an application fora 1000 acres, and the Governments may either allocate them 2000 acres or 500 acres depending on the kickbacks exchanged.

Experience has proved time and again that business persons and industrialists are more intelligent than bureaucrats and politicians of 1947-2016 India. If they consider that a business established at place X fetches great profits on the basis of their own methods of calculations, they will not hesitate to buy land at market value and establish their units. Tax concessions for some years and cheap land and power alone do not prompt calculative industrialists to locate their industries.

This is a subject, which needs a thousand posts/pages to write about. For example, why did Mr. Ratan Tata choose "Corus" in U.K. to purchase at an exhorbitant price, rather than starting a new Steel Unit in Jharkhand itself at a reasonable distance from Jamshedpur? If Late Jamshedji TATA could take a decision in the early 20th Century itself which was a Great Success of the Century, when there were no computer forecasting Quantitative Methods, how in 21st Century, could his clan-person take a hasty risky decision to make steel in U.K. ?

690 Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar seems to be making serious errors. If Mr. Sitaram Yechury sends him to Bengal, he will become a Narendra Modi for CPM !

Mr. Kanhaiyakumar, the student leader of JNU, who was arrested recently on "Sedition Charges" and released on bail, seems to be slipping again. He seems to be violating his bail conditions. If he is arrested again, he may not get his bail. Here is a quote attributed to him, of his having said on 8th March 2016, on the occasion of the Womens' Day.

"...No matter how much you try to stop us, we will speak up against human rights violations. We will raise our voice against AFSPA. While we have a lot of respect for our soldiers, we will still talk about the fact that in Kashmir women are raped by security personnel..."

Generalisations can be extremely dangerous, both to himself and to the security of the country. Stray cases of rapes in Kashmir, might have take place, at an "individual soldier" level. If any such instances have come to the notice of Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar, the right Courses of Action for him would have been

1. motivate the suffering woman to file a Criminal Complaint at a Police Station, and if necessary also with the appropriate Army Authorities (superiors of the soldier)

2. If no action is taken by police in spite of Police Complaint , or complaint to the Army Authorities, Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar can help the victim to approach National Human Rights Commission, National Women's Commission.

3. He can also help her to file a private case, with the help of some service-oriented Lawyers, in a Magistrate Court.

Even after all the steps enumerated above, if nobody bothers about the particular victim, Mr. Kumar and his associates can take the help of MPs of any party including his own Party, or the CPI, for using their good Offices to follow up the case.

After trying everything, if he still finds there is no solution, he can approach through PILs in High Courts under Article 226, or Supreme Court under Article 32.

Specific Cases of Rape whether in Kashmir, Gujarat, or in any other part of India, Media will not normally overlook, if it goes to their Notice. Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar or his affiliated Political Party can take up the issue with Media, and arrange for vide Publicity. Then the Army Authorities, Police Authorities, Administrators will definitely take some action.

Rape is a personal crime, committed by the soldier in his personal capacity. For such crimes, Indian Penal Code, normal Civilian Acts such as Nirbhaya Act will invariably apply. AFPSPA will not apply. Protection of AFPSPA will be available only when soldiers do something in their Official Capacity, under orders from their superiors.

By generalising things, by making wild allegations, Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar will be handing over a stick to Pakisthan, to beat India with.

Wild allegations, demoralise the Indian Army Jawans, wherever they are fighting. Just as Civilians are not rapists, Soldiers cannot be rapists. Because of immaturity, may be owing to age, Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar may be crossing limits in making allegations against Indian Army. By making generalisations, and wild allegations, Mr. Kumar will be giving a stick to ABVP and BJP, to beat him with.

If we say that JNU Students are rapists or debauchers, simply because some condoms are found in the premises of JNU, we shall be doing grave injustice to JNU. Same is the case with Indian Army.

TAIL PIECE धुम केतु తోక చుక్క

According to reports, it seems that Mr. Seetharam Yechury wanted to use Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar for electioneering in West Bengal, against Ms. Mamata Banerjee.

That will be dangerous. It can be as suicidal as Mr. L.K. Advani's, Mr. A.B. Vajpayee's, Mr. Murli Manohar Joshi's encouraging Mr. Narendra Modi, by sending him to Gujarat as CM. By doing that, they might have learnt their lessons.

Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar seems to have some similarities with Mr. Narendra Modi, and Mr. Arvind Kejriwal. He is capable of overturning Mr. Seetharam Yechury, Mr. Prakash Karat, and everybody in CPM hierarchy.

When he says that he does not want to enter Politics, I get an impression that he is trying to preserve the cake and also eat it too, at the same time. He seems to be hoping for a Professor's Job, and then throw stones against Indian Army during his spare time, while drawing his salary from Indian Exchequer. As a person hailing from a poor family, the One lakh bucks he may get by becoming a Professor, may be very valuable for him. (It is how Prof. Kodanda Ram of Osmania University worked for Telangana State. While drawing his salary from his University, without teaching anything, he seems to have worked in the Telangana JAC. In my personal view, it is a sort of cheating. My readers need not agree with me).

Working like a true duty-bound Professor, can also be a service to the Nation, and to the Leftism, even without imposing Leftist views on the Students. In fact, parents or teachers or Professors can never really influence their wards by teaching, preaching, advising, lecturing, etc. etc. By their behavior, they demonstrate to their children / students. If the children / students, find that their father /teacher / lecturer / Professor was worthy of emulation, they will voluntarily emulate. Else, they will learn from the Environment. No need to worry. A Motivator's job will be just to furnish information, and make it available to the "targeted persons / groups".

676 Part 1 Kanhaiya Affair- Sitaram Yechury (CPM) and Suravaram Sudhakara Reddy (CPI) should talk to Retd. Lt. Gen. S.K. Sinha about JNU सीताराम येचूरी और सुरवरम सुधाकर रॆड्डि , विश्रांत लॆ. जनरल ऎस. कॆ. सिन्हा से बात करना समुचित होगा । శ్రీ సురవమరం సుధాకర రెడ్డి మరియు శ్రీ సీతారాం యేచూరి , విశ్రాంత లె.జనరల్ ఎస్. కె. సిన్హా గారితో జెఎన్ యూ గూర్చి మాట్లాడితే బాగుంటుంది.

(Retd.) Lt. Gen. S.K.Sinha, Former Governor of Jammu & Kashmir, is not an Old Fogey, out of tune with modern times for expressing his anguish at the tragic events at UOH, JNU, Patiala Courts etc. etc. The articles, he writes in Deccan Chronicle reflects not only his wide experience, but also a balance of mind, patriotic zeal, concern for the soldiers who guard our frontiers at field level overcoming all sorts of life risks and hardships.

Though his writings sometimes appear as though he is biased towards BJP, or right wing campaigners, we must realise that appearances can be deceptive. Prima facie, he is a fair person.

Two examples, I shall quote from this article, which shows his balance of mind.

"...The legitimacy of hanging can be questioned and different views expressed, but making these criminals seem like heroes is another matter. ..."

Kanhaiya Kumar, the president of the JNU Students’ Union, may have been wrongly apprehended.

qOvernight he has become a "national hero". I commend him for his forthright statement of loyalty to the Constitution. He is said to have made a similar statement in JNU when anti-India slogans like "Har ghar se Afzal niklega, Bharat ki barbadi tak jung rahegi, Pakistan zindabad" were being raised. I would have been happier if he had done something as president of JNUSU to counter such anti-national slogans or at least withdrawn from the scene as a mark of protest. I will not question these slogans being treasonable or seditious. Let legal luminaries split hair in regard to this.

I totally agree with what Lt. Gen. S.K. Sinha has written about the happenings in JNU. I, wish to highlight that Mr. Kanhaiahkumar should have left the stage when he found that anti-India slogans were being given by the supporters of Afzal Guru. Alternatively, at least he should have objected to the raising of Anti-India slogans, even if that would have resulted in his being beaten up.

The Communist Leaders both Shri Suravaram Sudhakara Reddy and Shri Sitaram Yechury seem to be out of alignment with the defence needs of this country, and the National Priorities. Both Mr. Sudhakara Reddy and Mr. Sitaram Yechury, appear to be immature before Lt. Gen. Sinha. This should not happen.

I hope that Shri Sudhakara Reddy and Shri Sitaram read this article of Lt. Gen. Sinha, and rethink about what they have done at JNU, and what they are going to do in Parliament. It is also important that they should not be carried away by the ilk of Mr. Rahul Gandhi and some Congress Leaders. CPI and CPM have to change a lot. Afzal Guru and Yakoub Momen cannot be priorities for Left Parties. They should also think of supporting our Armed Forces working at Field Level taking high risks of their lives. CPI and CPM leaders should go to the boundary line Camps, and try to lift the morale of our soldiers.

If BJP Government is unduly saffronising our Universities, that can be separately dealt with.

I also wish that BJP Government should effectively and fruitfully utilise the services of Lt. Gen. Sinha, who still seems to have the verve to work energetically for the country. He deserves a better recognition, which the Congress Government of 1983 , for its own reasons, deprieved him by denying him the position of the Army Chief.

In my post No. Click to go to 634 , we have taken note of the article titled "AmbedkarisTula bhramalu (The illusions of Ambedkarists" penned by renowned Telugu Author (Muppalla) Ranganayakamma. Link to her Article in AndhraJyothy.com, is available in that post. Some of the issues raised by her are worth discussing. Before we could discuss some of them, one Shri Borra Govardhan has written a critic of that article "AmbEdkarisTula bhramalu" , published in AndhraJyothy.com , dated 30th Dec. 2015. We have to wait till some more people write about Late Ambedkar, Ranganayakamma, the Illusions of Ambedkarists, the Vaidika Marxism. Shri Govardhan defined the Vaidika Marxism in one straight forward sentence. In Telugu: "mEmu ceppindE vEdam, naDicindE mArgam, mEm tappanTE tappE, oppanTE oppE. This is the primary characteristic of the Vedic ideas. ". English gist: "Whatever we say is Veda. Whatever path we tread is the (true) Path. If we say that something is wrong, then it is wrong. If we say that something is right, it is right only.

I do not wish to particularly point out at Ms. Ranganayakamma. It appears that most people who swear by or who are committed to some principles (including ybrao-a-donkey), be it Marxism or something else, seem to have this trait of trying to dictating terms to others. This problem of intolerance to criticism (immaterial whether the criticism is justified or not justified), seem to prevail even in Top Leaders of CPI and CPM. It is not exactly the type of authoritarianism which is conspicuous in bourgeoisie parties like Congress and BJP.

Lack of internal democracy in Bourgeoisie Parties like Congress and BJP is understandable. How can we explain the lack of internal democracy in CPI and CPM which are based in Theories?

While I am typing this review, I heard on the All India Radio News, about the passing away of CPI Former General Secretary Shri A.P. Bardhan. CPI and CPM seems to be losing all their aged leaders and Party Workers, while replenishments are NOT TAKING PLACE. This may lead to extinction of Communist Movement in India. Let us hope that it is not going to happen.

1. The issue of the miserable State of the Untouchable Classes in British India, is an internal issue of the Indian Nationals. The participants in the three Round Table Conferences which were held in London between 1931-1932 argued their sectoral cases, instead of arguing on behalf of India as a Nation. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was no exception. While the British chose to enslave us with DIVIDE AND RULE rool, we fell a victim to that.

2. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar seems to have thought that separate Constituencies for Dalits will bring them liberation. Now, of course a hind sight, History of Independent India 1947-2015, shows that in spite of Electoral reservations, Reservations in Educational Institutions, Reservations in Govt. Jobs, the Scheduled Castes did not progress much. Reservations were just like Amritanjan or Zandu Balm, whereas India suffered from a major malady.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar seems to have forgotten to take a serious note of the fact that bulk of the productive assets of India, in 1947 or in 2015 are not owned by Dalits or Scheduled Tribes or Backward Classes. In every village, town, City, they are controlled by few families. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, being the Chief Drafter of the Indian Constitution, ought to have drafted for
a) Removal of Private Property all types of rights, and inheritance.
b) Treating every Indian as a Government Employee, with equality.
c) Removal of Currency System, role of money
d) Removal of marriage and family system. Free women from care of off-springs. Society to raise children once they attain an age of 5 years.
e) Common Civil code irrespective of castes and religions. Close prayer houses, prayer assemblies.
f) Removal of kitchens in individual homes. Guaranteed Free Supply of food packets to living quarters to every citizens.
g) Guaranteed living quarters to all Indians, with no right of sale, gifting, inheritance.
h) All needs of citizens such as food, clothing, shelter, health care, education, everything free and provided by the Society (State).
i) Automatic care of aged persons by State.
j) Free citizens from the risks of farming, trade, industry, and businesses. All risks are borne by the State.
k) Ban on private cars. Any gadget which the Western Society invents and introduces in its Consumerist markets, Socialist India will provide to all Socialist Citizens FREE OF COST. Upgradation from one paradigm to another paradigm should take place only after lower level needs of all the citizens are met by the State. Example: Only after State provides Two wheelers to all the Citizens, the question of making cars will have to be taken up. Till then, all the Citizens have to be stopped at the level of Public Transport or at the level of Two wheelers.

Dr. Ambedkar, probably might not have thought of COMPLETE SOCIALISM + DEMOCRACY AS A SOLUTION FOR the Untouchables of INDIA, if not for 100% of Citizens of India.

497 Not cat, but grimalkin! बिल्ली नहीं मार्जाल ! పిల్లి కాదు మార్జాలం !

In Telugu language, we have a maxim: "pilli kAdu mArjAlam!". Its approximate English gist is "Not cat, but grimalkin or pussy!" .

तॆलुगु भाषा में एक कहावत है कि: पिल्लि कादु मार्जालम। इस कहावत की मतलब यह है: बिल्ली नहीं., मार्जाल।

This proverb is used when persons persist with the same thing, in spite of criticisms, demors, and objections. They simply remove the word which faced a hurdle, replace it with another word which means the same thing, just to show that , they are making changes. But no change is made in reality. In the above proverb pilli and mArjAlam mean the same thing. Billi and mArjAl mean the same thing in Hindi. Cat and grimalkin mean the same things with minor variations.

Recently, the Congress of the Communist Party of India Marxist (CPIM or CPM) held its jamboree Congress in Visakhapatnam. They replaced their Party's General Secretary Mr. Prakash Karat with Mr. Seetharam Yechury. They tried to create an impression that they are going to rebuild the party afresh, changing everything.

But indications are, that nothing drastic will really take place.

Let us take for example: In Bihar, CPM may allow its State Unit to make seat adjustments with Laloo-Nitish Combine, along with Bihar's Congress Party. In West Bengal, since Ms. Mamata Banerjee has become formidable (दुर्जय), CPIM may allow its Bengal State Unit to have electoral seat adjustments with Congress.

CPIM top bosses should understand that playing second fiddle to Congress and Regional Parties, in the name or electoral alliances or seat adjustments, has ruined the Party, because by doing so, CPM will be indirectly asking its supporters to vote for the bourgeoisie parties. Even after elections, CPIM will have to, and will continue its soft pedalling with the bourgeoisie parties.

In Telugu language, there is another proverb: Aru nelalu sahavAsam cEstE, aTu vALLiTu, iTu vALLaTu avutAru. Approximate English gist: When two persons make friendship for six months, both the parties exchange their characters and characteristics, and barter their personalities. That means a left party like CPM will become a bourgeoisie party, and bourgeoisie parties like Lalu-Nitish combine, Congress will behave like Leftist Parties.

478 Artificial unanimous elections can never really revive or strengthen parties

In true Leftism and true demcracy, elections can never be unanimous.


This is because Indians have a tendency to hide their true feelings and restrain themselves from behaving naturally.


Conducting jamborees of parties and holding open elections can really serve no purpose in preserve internal democracies of parties.


We shall take the latest example of the election of Mr. Sitaram Yechury as the General Secretary of CPM (CPIM), at its Congress held in Visakhapatnam.


The election of Mr. Sitaram Yechury was a formality, because it was predetermined.


Though it is said that one Mr. Ramachandran Pillai from Kerala had come forward to contest, it appears that he was pressurised to withdraw his nomination in the name of party's unity.


In India rarely contestants come forward to openly file their nominations, against the blowing winds triggered by party bosses.   To overcome this, I suggest a better system:  Every member of the Party Congress can be treated as a contestant, without any need for his filing a nomination.   Membership Nos. and names of all the eligible contestants can be printed on ballot papers (now-a-days in this computer age it is very easy). and the voters can just tick against the number and name of the person whom they wish to elect as President / General Secretary.

Voting by show of hands or voice votes do no really bring out the intentions of the voters.   Secret ballot is the only way, if voters have to express their free consent.

As per the traditions of CPIM, Mr. Sitaram Yechury may work as its President for another ten years,  too long a period of stewardship.

CPIM may have to substantially change their Party's Constitution (bye-laws) to make them more truely democratic, rather than hypocritically democratic.

For CPIM, I view that this procedure will stabilise and strengthen the party.


Whatever I am writing here will apply to the forthcoming election of Mr. Rahul Gandhi as the President of Congress Party of which his mother, Ms. Sonia Gandhi is the President now.

Example: The election of  Mr. Sitaram Yechury was not only a foregone conclusion, but also a fait accompli.

My heartfelt sympathies lie with Mr. Ramachandran Pillai, who was said to have withdrawn his nomination.  Mr. Sitaram Yechury, in my vision, would have become a great warrior, had he demanded for and faced a secret ballot, whatever it is worth.

తన నామినేషన్ ఉపసంహరించుకున్నారని చెప్పబడుతున్న శ్రీ రామచంద్రన్ పిళ్ళె గారికి నా హృదయపూర్వక సానుభూతి.  శ్రీ సీతారాం యేచూరి గారు, రహస్య బ్యాలెట్ కై డిమాండ్ చేసి, దానిని ఎదుర్కొని ఉంటే, ఆయన ఒక సత్ సంప్రదాయాన్ని నెలకొల్పి ఉండే వాడు.  అప్పుడు పార్టీకి జీవితాంతం ఋణపడి ఉంటానని ప్రకటించుకోవాల్సిన అవసరం తప్పేది.  పార్టీయే ఆయనకు ఋణపడి ఉండేది.

Now, I am tempted to compare Mr. Sitaram Yechury to Narendra Modi, both of whom captured their respective parties as a sort of hijack rather than as a genuine expression of  freewill from the grassroots.
