949 Some politicians seem to be less intelligent than their cleverer counterparts!

At last the cat has come out of the bag. The veil has been removed or self-removed after being exposed. This is the story of Mr. Lalu Prasad Yadav, Former Railway Minister of India, Ex Chief Minister of Bihar, admitting that his wife and sons own 50% shares in a Rs.7.5 billion Mall. Like any other cunning politician, Mr. Lalu Yadav chose not to disclose it, until it is made public by Sushil Kumar Modi, Bihar BJP Leader. In Telugu language, we have an adage 'andarU pittina muttaiduvulE'. [approx. English: All are revered Ladies! This adage has a background story. Elderly women with living husbands are called in Telugu 'muttaiduvulu'. It is customary to invite them as guests to domestic-functions of women, and honor them with sweets, betel leaves, fruits etc. In such functions, normally guests are not expected to fart (expel intestinal gas, with or without sound / smell). Unfortunately some Lady farted, with some sound/smell. All those present looked at one another, as though the other person was the Lady who farted. Nobody will disclose voluntarily. It is also possible that a few/some/many/all of them might have farted, but nobody will accept it. Hence, the adage 'andarU pittina muttaidulE (All are revered Ladies who have farted).]

ORIGINAL INDIAN CUSTOM WAS THAT POLITICAL CORRUPTION HAS TO BE BROUGHT OUT BY FOREIGN AGENCIES/ GOVERNMENTS / MEDIA

It seems to be against Indian tradition on the part of Rulers and Ex Rulers, that they will not disclose their own corruption, and it is mutually respected custom, that sincere investigations will not be launched against one another, though barking takes place, but never, biting is done.

For example. corruption in purchase of Bofors Guns was revealed by whom? Swedish Radio.

BJP leader Sushil Kumar Modi alleged last week that the land was illegally transferred to Lalu's family as a favour. In 2008, while he was the country's Railways Minister, an entrepreneur named Harsh Kochhar was given a15-year-lease to run two hotels for the railways in Puri and Ranchi. But before this, he sold the two-acre plot in Patna to a company owned by the wife of an MP from Lalu's party named Prem Gupta.

Over the last few years, the name of the company was revised along with changes that ended with the three directors being restricted to Lalu's wife and sons. All iterations of the holding company were registered at the same address. The current company, Lalu told reporters today, is LARA- named for him and wife Rabri Devi who has also served as Chief Minster of Bihar.

VOCABULARY NOTES ON THE ENGLISH VERB 'FART', WITH INDO EUROPEAN ORIGIN

Definition of fart
often vulgar.
Intransitive verb : to expel intestinal gas from the anus

See fart defined for English-language learners Origin and Etymology of fart

Middle English ferten, farten; akin to Old High German ferzan to break wind, Old Norse freta, Greek perdesthai, Sanskrit pardate he breaks wind

ybdonkey's Telugu language notes, for readers who are interested in Linguistic Histories: Though Telugu language is not an Indo-European language descending from Sanskrit, it has borrowed nearly 30% of its words from Sanskrit language. Hence, we find large number of INdo-European origin words in Telugu language, some of them current in addition to their native Indian (Dravidian???) words.

In Telugu, the verb and noun 'fart' is known as : 'pittu'. For a long time, I was wondering about the origin of this word in Telugu. I thought that it was a native word. Now, it appears that 'pittu' is fro Sanskrit 'pard' (pardate above is verb), and the Old Norse 'freta', Middle English farten. In Telugu verb forms are also similar: pittATam (infinitive), pittADu (m-singu-past), pittaru (mf-plural-past), pittindi (f-singu-past) etc.

ybrao a donkey's views which are not intended to be imposed on others

State of the Art, seems to be not to keep corrupt earnings, in any form of assets in INdia, such as real estate, gold, diamonds, currency, shares. Many successful politicians WHO MAINTAIN A CLEANER THOU IMAGE, seem to maintain their assets in numbered accounts in tax haven countries. Or they own Companies abroad in connivance with the foreign Governments, and earn Knighthoods, or Ordre national de la Légion d'honneur.

Politicians such as Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy, Lalu Prasad Yadav seem to be foolish exceptions.

932 (Part 2/3 of Ayodhya City) More musings on Ayodhya-2 in Kursela, Bihar.

This is in continuation of my post NO. 931 here click here to go to 931 at this blog. 2) And post No. 124 at Ramayanayb.blogspot.com Click here to go to ramayanayb.blogspot.com/search/label/124. The idea of Ayodhya-ganj, Kursela, as a probable location of Ancient Ayodhya of Rama Janma Bhumi, I have also covered partly at my post No. 138 Click here to go to ramayanayb.blogspot.com/search/label/138. I shall quote from what I wrote in that post:--

"...But, I have a strong feeling that the trio didn't move southwards. They might have moved towards sasarAm (rohtas), babhuva (kaimur), then gaya. There was a village called "gOdAvari" in gaya District.

...Did the trio take the niranjan and mOhana - falgu rivers as gOdAvari? This question taunts my mind everyday. gaya and bOdh gaya had buddhist culture. valmIki rAmAyaN described rAvaNa approaching pancavaTi in ochre robes. The gupta dynastic period, during which vAlmiki rAmAyana evolved as a tangible book from the status of a ballad or a folk song, had some stones to grind against buddhism.

...mArica's abode was his mother's abode i.e. tATaka garden (taDka) was in bIhar. One matanga hill is in rAjagrih. rAvana's mandara mounts are in bhagalpur and banka.

...The entire scenario seemed to have moved south-eastwards on the ganga river via buxar-sasarAm-gaya-patna-hajipur to bhagalpur apparently rAvana's Capital. kishkindha, we have already identified between vindhyAcal and sasarAm.

This post No. 138, at my ramayanayb was made on 24th Dec. 2012, about 5 years back. At that time I believed that there was some rivulet near Godavari village in Gaya District, which might have been the river bank for the PanchavaTi cottage of Sita Rama Lakshmanas, from where Sita was abducted by Ravana. At that time, I have tried to contact the District Officials of Gaya, Bihar, if any archaeological information can be traced. But, no help was forthcoming from their side.

At that time, I was aware, that according to legends, Sita performed the obsequies-oblations (worshipful offerings) for her Late father-in-law Dasaratha, on the banks of River Phalguni, Gaya, VishNu pada ghaTTam. I have tried to delve into the histories of the temples in Gaya, as to whether any evidence can be collected about the movements of Sita Rama Lakshmanas there during their 14 year forest exile. But, I could not achieve much, except that the story of Sita performing the worship of Dasaratha by making sand pinDas (food-bolluses) and Dasratha's hand rising from the River, as some fantastic story of Tourist Circuit, to boost the tourist importance of that place.

Recent Trigger, of a few days back: Shri Garikapati Narasimha Rao, a Renowned Telugu Scriptural Scholar, an avadhAna expert and also a TV Discourser

OM TV Channel- a Telugu TV Channel broadcasts the Discourse of Kalidasa's Raghuvamsam, by Shri Garikapati Narasimha Rao at 1 pm every day. After kalyanotsavam of Lord Venkateswara at SVBC Channel, I usually view Raghu Vamsam on Om TV. Few days back, I saw an Episode by Shri Garikapati Narasimha Rao, about Dilipa's worship of the divine cow 'kAmadhEnu'. Shri Garikapati has a gift of gab of mixing up several things in his Discourses. He also applies to the Discourse his style/mode of common sense. He is a flexible person. I do not want to compare my writings with what he discourses. Objectives differ.

In that particular episode about the divine-cow's-face worship by King Dilipa, as against the customary convention that cow's back is to be worshipped and not face, he narrated his experience of his Gaya visit. Then, he narrated the story of Sita worshipping Dasaratha at Gaya's Phalguni River. He might have heard the story from the Gaya Priests. His stress was more on IMPORTANCE OF TELLING TRUTH 'satya nishTha'. Welcome. In that story, when Shri Rama came back with necessary provisions for cooking the food-bolus (pinDam), Sita told him that she had already performed it. Shri Rama didn't believe. Sita had to call witnesses. 1. Phalguni River. The river said that it did not see Sita performing. 2. Priests of those days at Gaya. They denied having seen Sita performing the oblations. Then the third witness Akshaya vriksham, an ancient tree, which said that it has seen Sita performing the oblations. Then, Mr. Narasimha Rao how the Phalguni River and the Priests have become cursed, and how the Askhaya Vriksham glows with its glory. So far so good. I greatly appreciate and admire the effort of Shri Narasimha Rao, for the importance he gave to 'satyam'.

What I felt when I saw that Episode

Shri Narasimha Rao, who is very much conscious about the importance of 'truth', why he did not spend a few minutes about whether it could be possible for Sita, Rama, Lakshmanas visiting Gaya? The distance aerial/straight between Chitrakut and Gaya is about 500 kms. In those days, there were no roads or highways or railways. No transport, probably not even bullock carts. Sita Rama and Lakshmana were walking.

The real problem with our 'discoursers' and 'scholars' is: they do not go into the 'ROOTS' and 'ROUTES'. They take it for granted, tourist circuit's stories, which are palmed off in the name of 'sthala purANam' and 'skAndha purANam'.

Besides, Shri Rama himself was not very particular about 'sathyam' (truth). I have given some examples of verses in Valmiki Ramayana, which show that Shri Rama went back his words he gave to Kausalya and Guha, to live like a Muni (hermetic). Breakage of his words took place, the very next day he crossed River Yamuna, and entered forest enroute to Chitrakut. But our discoursers and preachers will never cover those verses, because if such inconvenient verses are analysed, they will not be invited to give a discourse. Not touching 'displeasing things' is a marketing technique. For that reason only, there is a Sanskrit maxim: 'satyam brUyAt, priyam brUyAt, na bruyAt satyam ariyam'. Tell truth, tell what is pleasing. But never tell a truth which will cause displeasure. (If we tell a truth which may cause displeasure, we may be beaten and driven ouf of the place).

Valmiki Ramayana, Ayodhyakanda (last part) and Aranya Kanda are silent about SRLs going to Gaya. The general impression among Scripture Discoursers and some historians is, that SRL travelled towards South, ultimately towards Nasik/Bhadrachalam, after Sita's abduction two brother's walk to Kishkindha (according to Tourist Circuit, near Hampi, Karnataka), and finally to Rameswaram in Tamil Nadu, for crossing over to Lanka.

Nowhere, we can see SRLs going to Gaya. Either that story should be incorrect, or Ayodhya, Kishkindha, Lanka everything should have taken place in Old Bihar-- with the Northernmost points Janakpuri (Nepal), Valmikinagar, Sitamarhi, Darbhanga, Tadkha (Tataka's place), Gautama's Ashram, Chapra, Sasaram, Kathihar-Kursela, Hajipur etc. etc. southwards, on the West side of Vaishali Kingdom. Then the story will spread southwards, cross River Ganga (an island on Ganga River near Bhagalpur may be Lanka), and enter into Jharkhand, which is associated with Asuras. At may ramayanayb blog, there is a discussion about width of Ravana's kingdom from Rajasthan-Kota-Indore-MP-Chattisgadh-Jharkhand-to-Bengal west-to-east. Ravana travelled on his donkeys' pulled cart-chariot called pushpaka, to abduct Sita.

If everything is in Bihar, Chitrakut-2 and Godavari-3 should also be near Gaya.

Historian Late Sankalia opined that Ravana's Lanka might have been in Chota Nagpur Region , i.e. in Jharkhand-Bengal Border. I have discussed in one of my blogposts, the possibility of Bhagalpur as being the Lanka of Ravana, or any of the islands in Ganga river, on the northern side of Bhagalpur as Lanka. There is a Trikuta mountain in Bhagalpur. Baidynath, the place where Ravana is reported to have installed his Shiva-phallus, is also nearby south to Bhagalpur. On the other side of Ganga River, opposite to Bhagalpur, we get Hajipur and the Kathihar Areas, our Kursela, Ayodhyaganj.

Anjana Devi's place (Hanuman or Anjaneya's mother) is in Jharkhand, on the west direction of Bhagalpur and Bydyanath.

There is an important tribe called 'asuras' in Jhar Khand.

There are a few villages with the name 'Lanka', to the South of Anjadevi's place, in Jharkhand..

According to Wikipedia. the word 'kursela' according to Wikipedia.org, mentions 'kuru' as the origin of the place, and linked it to Kauravas and Pandavas. But I believe that 'kursela' is probably 'kOsala', from which Kausalya hailed.

There are many gaps in this narration of mine. One possibility: Dasaratha's Ayodhya in Phyzabad District, Uttar Pradesh, might have been called Ayodhya, but it might not have been 'kOsala Kingdom'. kOsala kingdom, must have been kausalya's native place, which is kursela in Bihar. Shri Rama might have been born at Kursela, even without the name Ayodhya. Or Kursela can be Old Ayodhya, and Phyzabad Ayodhya can be new Ayodhya.

According to Kursela's locals, it appears that the name 'ayOdhya ganj' was given to that place in Kursela town, by the local baron (jamindar) after independence 1947. It may or not be true. Reason: Kursela's Ayodhya was in the trade route between Delhi and Kolkata even during the days of Aurangzeb, Europeans, Clive, Hastings, Surajuddaula, Mir Jaffar etc. et al. It was said to be a Mandi Centre and an important place for warehousing in those days.

First Possibility

Shri Rama, Sita and Lakshmana, might have gone WESTWARDs from Kursela-Ayodhya to Gaya's Phalguni Tirtham , probably even to that Godavari village in Gaya District. One guess I made was that Kishkindha was in Mirzapur which is East to Allahabad. From Gaya / Gaya's Godavari, after Sita's abduction by Ravana, the two brothers might have gone to Mirzapur.

Second Possibility

As per the map shown above, SRLs might have moved eastward from Chitrakut to Gaya. In those days, there were no compasses. There were not many villages. Those who go in forest paths depend on oral inquiries. It is possible, Rama and Lakshmana might have come westwards from Gaya to Mirzapur (Kishkindha), and stayed there. The Southern batch sent by Sugriva, to search Sita, led by Angada and Hanuman, might have crossed Ganga River at Mirzapur (Vindhyas), then moved eastwards till they reached Bhagalpur, via Anjanadevi's place. Hanuman might have been familiar with this path.

738 The VikarNa of the 2016 India.

Mr. Bhola Singh, 77 year old BJP Member of Parliament from Begu Sarai Constituency, Bihar, looks like a courageous person. By virtue of his age, or by virtue of his Seniority (8 times M.L.A., and Former Home Minister of Bihar), or by virtue of his Educational Qualifications (A Ph.D), he might have picked up this courage. Mr. Narendra Modi might not have had a prior knowledge of his courage or outspokenness. Else, he might have dumped Mr. Bhola Singh also to the Old Age Home, like other Seniors and Stalvarts like Shri L.K. Advani and Shri Murali Manohar Joshi. Here is a DeccanChronicle.Com webpage dated 26th Apr. 2016 reporting how Mr. Bhola Singh spoke in Lok Sabha, pointing out the seriousness of our trade deficit with China, and questioning the Govt. why we could not ban imports from China.Click to go to Deccan Chronicle.com.
"...That country (China) is the reason for all of our problems, and, yet, the government is pursuing good friendly relations. Trade deficit is mounting, while our industries have been destroyed. ..."

"...Why India should not ban Chinese imports? ...".

This is not the first time that Mr. Bhola Singh is showing his courage. We can compare Lok Sabha-outspoken Mr. Bhola Singh to the Kaurava Prince Vikarna, who raised his voice in Kaurava Court, when PanDava Queen Draupadi was dragged and derobed in Dhritaqrashtra's court, after Yudhishthira lost in the deceptive Game of Dice.

We shall take up some golden sayings of Mr. Bhola Singh, reported to have been said by him in Nov. 2015, after the loss of BJP in Bihar Assembly elections. For those who wish to see the full report, here is the link: Click to go to indileak.com. .
"...Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “unparliamentary language” during the election campaign was one of the reasons why the BJP lost the Bihar battle..."

"...Top party leaders including Modi are responsible for it (defeat)...".

"...The BJP was not defeated in Bihar, it committed suicide. ...".

"...During the campaign, local BJP leaders were sidelined and ignored...".

"...There was no logic to raise issues such as beef and that firecrackers would be burst in Pakistan if the BJP loses. All this resulted in our defeat...".

"...party failed to make ‘roti-rozi’ the main campaign issue though it spoke of economic development as its top agenda...".

For his qualifications (Ph.D.), experience (8 times elected MLA, and former Home Minister of Bihar), Mr. Bhola Singh should have been made the HRD Minister of India. What Ms. Smriti Irani is doing now? Though Duryodhana trusted Karna as his dearest friend, he made Bhishma the Supreme Commander of the Kaurava Forces. But, Mr. Narendra Modi does not seem to know such courtesies. If Ms. Smriti Irani is performing better than Mr. Bhola Singh, we need not grudge. It is not happening.
About Mr. Bhola Singh's comment that we should ban impors from China:

We should do this coolly, without trumpeting.

Mr. Bhola Singh may not get his BJP ticket in 2019.

Shall finish shortly.

718 Part 1/10 of pros and cons of introducing prohibition in India

Trigger for this blog post: An article by Shri Akar Patel in Deccan Chronicle.com, about the introduction of prohibition in Bihar by Mr. Nitish Kumar. Title of the article is: PROHIBITION IS A FAILED IDEA. For those who wish to read this article, here is the link: (Click to go to the article of Mr. Akar Patel in Deccan Chronicle.Com.) . Continuation of my post No. (Click if you wish to read 717) .

Mr. Akar Patel has sufficiently covered the "anti" side of the enforcement of Prohibition.

In my post No. 717, I wrote that Mr. Akar Patel has to do some "para griha pravEsh (literal meaning: enter the houses of others) to realise the intensity of the sufferings of Indian Housewives and mothers, at the hands of their husbands and sons who demand for money to buy liquor, and do not hesitate to kill them, if money is refused, or money could not be produced. Hence, failures or no failures, all the State Governments in India, and the Central Government should make sincere efforts on a war footing to overcome the daemon of Alcoholism.

I have also already mentioned that "Prohibition is not a Brahminic demand". 90% of suffering mothers and wives are not Brahmins ! Though of late, alcoholism is increasing in Brahmins, yet, whatever be the reasons, alcoholism is still RELATIVELY less in Brahmins, particularly the Brahmins of the South India. If prohibition is sabotaged or not enforced strictly, Brahmins will also lose, but they lose less, whereas the sufferings of mothers and housewives of all castes, particularly non-Brahmin castes, do not get ameliorated.

One unfortunate development which I have been noticing of late is, alcoholism has become rampant among professionals such as doctors, lawyers, IAS-IPS Officers, etc., and the so-called intellectuals such as Judges-both of higher and lower judiciary, Professors, College and High School teachers. They are, in fact, supposed to guide the Indian Society. In Telugu language, there is a proverb: "kance yE cEnu mEsina" English "If fence itself feeds on the crop", who will protect the crop?

Mr. Nitish Kumar, does not seem to have done sufficient home work.

Declaring that "Prohibition is introduced in the entire Bihar" and seizing all the liquor bottles in shops in a frenzy, will not serve the cause of Prohibition. A lot of groundwork is to be done.

Example: Prohibition results in loss of employment to workers of distillaries, wineshops and bars. Suddenly all those working at these places will be on the road. Of course, Bihar Government will not have resources to pay compensation or monthly subsistence to these people. Bihar is a cane and sugar producing State. That means we have to show market to the raw spirits and ferments produced in Bihar, for sale outside its boundaries.

One solution:Since, many other States in India, have not yet introduced prohibition, Bihar Govt. can probably permit the distillaries to to produce liquors, with "forward integration", to produce bottled, packed end products, and export to neighboring States, some of which may be experiencing liquor shortages. Though this may sound "unethical" (discouraging local people consuming alcohol, and encourage unfortunate residents of other States to drink more). But, even if the Bihar Government and the distillaries in Bihar desist themselves from doing it, foreign liquor Companies will vigorously market their beers, whiskies, wines, vodkas, ales, runs, gins in the Rest of India.

In other words, till total prohibition is introduced all over India, including ban on import of liquors, Bihar will be justified in exporting liquors made in Bihar to other States.

Bihar Distillaries and wine traders can also be permitted to export liquors to Europe, North and South Americas, South East Asia, above all China with whom we have an adverse Balance of Trade.

In my humble view, future of Bihar will depend on developing their export capabilities, products, and skills, - both to Rest of India, and to International Markets.

Nothing can really be achieved, just by passing some laws, which are loosely enforced.

To continue.

I have a special affection and affinity for the word "rustication", as a student of M.A. (English Literature, Distance Education, Nagarjuna University), which was taken up and completed by me with madness, after completing my M.A. (History).

We shall first start with the word: "rusticate" , for the benefit of those who wish to tone up their vocabulary. According to Merriam-Webster.com, here is the meaning of the word "rusticate":--

Definition of rusticate: rus·ti·cat·edrus·ti·cat·ing, intransitive verb, : to go into or reside in the country : follow a rustic life.

transitive verb:

1 chiefly British : to suspend from school or college

2 : to build or face with usually rough-surfaced masonry blocks having beveled or rebated edges producing pronounced joints.

3 a : to compel to reside in the country b : to cause to become rustic : implant rustic mannerisms in

According to the Merriam-Websters.com, the word was first used in 1660.

During my English Literature Studies days, I used to spend several solitary nights, mulling over the RUSTICATION of John Milton, from Christ's College, at Cambridge. Here is Wikipedia.org's narration about his stint at Cambridge, and his rustication:

...In 1625 Milton began attending Christ's College, Cambridge. He graduated with a B.A. in 1629,[9] and ranked fourth of 24 honours graduates that year in the University of Cambridge.[10] Preparing to become an Anglican priest, Milton stayed on to obtain his Master of Arts degree on 3 July 1632.

Milton was probably rusticated (suspended) for quarrelling in his first year with his tutor, Bishop William Chappell. He was certainly at home in the Lent Term 1626; there he wrote his Elegia Prima, a first Latin elegy, to Charles Diodati, a friend from St Paul's. Based on remarks of John Aubrey, Chappell "whipt" Milton.[8] This story is now disputed, though certainly Milton disliked Chappell.[11] Historian Christopher Hill cautiously notes that Milton was "apparently" rusticated, and that the differences between Chappell and Milton may have been either religious or personal. ...

Throughout his Life, John Milton seems to have lived a saga of a sort of rebellous unpleasantness with Church and Formal Religion. There is not much difference between the situation prevailing then in Europe , where religious fanatics dominated the political scenario, and the present day scenario of India, where religion-linked Nationalism has come to the fore. There are several facets of Milton which are worth discussing, but not now at this particular blog-post.

Back to possible rustication of Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar:

The word "rustic" is the root of the verb "rusticate". As per Merriam-websters:

Simple Definition of rustic : of, relating to, or suitable for the country or people who live in the country. 2) made of rough wood

Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar is from a village in Bihar. Thus, he is a rustic, even literally. He might have been a sort of an agrestic during his early College days. After his shift to Delhi, for his Ph.D. he might have learnt the refinements of Metrogens. In Media photos and videos, he looks quite charming, may be bewitching charms. This might have added to his capability to attract the attention of his students crowds at the JNU.

Now, suppose the JNU banishes him ("rusticate" in their words). Will he go back to Bihar, and become a leader of the so-called rustics? It ought to be. I wish that he will. Villagers and politicians in Bihar may not allow Kanhaiya to do, but , he will have a very big lot to do in villages, rather than in Delhi. I always felt that Mr. Sitaram Yechury might have done a lot at Anaparti or Rampachodavaram, when compared to what he is doing in Delhi.

Everybody knows that, in most Indian Universities, Ph.D means preparation of Thesis(es) using the CONTROL X C V Cut Copy Paste Methods, produce some volumes in a hurry, get it accepted by "pandits" with the help of "purchase-able" guides, who themselves advise the Research Scholars to plagiarise. If Indian University Ph.D. Courses are to be cleansed and standards raised, such REFORMS should start with the Reformation of the so-called Wicked Corrupt Guides.

There may be some great Exceptional Research Scholars and Research Guides. I am not for generalisations.

Suspension from the Course and the University, or the probability of suspension, may cause immense mental disequilibrium to poor students, who depend for their survival on the concessional /free hostels, stipends, scholarships, fellowships etc. (I may not be correct, but I believe that the harassment at UOH, might have led to an anxiety and stress of insecurity to Vemula Rohit, which might have culminated in his suicide).

The problem with our villages, and the parents of our students in villages, is: there will be GREAT EXPECTATIONS. The boy is studying in Delhi, in a very big University. He will get his HIGHEST DEGREE (nothing to go beyond, like a Himalayan Cliff), get a University Professor job with Rs. one lac salary per month, etc. etc. A student, who does not / who could not finish his Studies can, therefore, never go back to his village, and face questions there. It is just like a youth who goes to Bollywood or Tollywood or Kollywood to become a Hero, and takes the incarnation of an Extra Actor earning daily wages. Hence, there can, never be a question of going back. An exception will arise only when the student has his body made of RURAL GRAINS.

I still have ample sympathies for Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar. He seems to have been misled by students who were receiving funds from Pakisthan and Saudi Arabia.

Last but not the least: High Power Committees in India, are not REAL HIGH POWER COMMITTEES. They are just Committees of Clerks. Even Ministers in this country are like Clerks or even worse. A peon (caprAsi) in Government cannot be easily removed without following due procedures, but a Minister can be easily removed at the whims and fancies of CMs and PMs. But, then CMs and PMs are again Clerks of Extra-Constitutional Authorities such as Ms. Sonia Gandhi, Mr. Mohan Bhagawat etc. Even Business Tycoons and Industrialists are capable of appointing and removing CMs and PMs. Hence much value cannot be given to the recommendations and decisions of High Power Committees , whether unanimous or otherwise.

There is a maxim: People get the Government they deserve. We have got the Government we are deserving. We have got to wait till 2019, to refresh ourselves.

A Telugu verse from Sumati Satakam is worth quoting:

కొంచెపు నరు సంగతిచే KONCEPU NARU SANGATI CE
ANCITAMUGA PETLU VACCU, ADI ETLANNAN
KINCITTU NALLI KUTTINA
MANCAMUNAKU PETLU VACCU MAHILO SUMATI.

English Gist: Making friendship with a malicious person can lead to blows to a normal person, after some days. How it is: When a sleeping cot (or a couch-bed) is infested with bed-bugs, the cot will be kept in hot sun, and beaten with sticks, so as to kill / flee the bugs. Here, the bugs are, the Anti Nationals who have tried to take over the JNU. Cot or the bed-couch is the JNU.

593 Part-1 Will those who lose Bihar elections cover their faces with cloth and go to forest for five years?

Bihar State's Election results will come on 8th Nov. 2015. The elections have been fought by BJP-NDA and the JDS-RDA-Congress muThAs (I am not sure whether I can use the word gangs as an English word for the Hindi word muThAs, and whether will be Parliamentary or unParliamentary).

How can you call our political parties MuthAs?

Ans: Both the parties have given tickets to candidates who have criminal Histories. (Residual Andhra Pradesh and Telangana do not lag behind Bihar in this respect). The word "jungle rAj" (Kingdom of Forest) applies to both the parties.

Question: How the losers are going to conduct themselves after their losses at the outings will become very clear.

Indian Elections are worse than the gambling bouts of dice which took place in the Great Indian Epic "Vyasa Mahabharata". This time, the battles have been fought so bitterly, that no party or politician ever might have thought about fair means or unfair means.

In reality there is not much in stake for BJP in Bihar to fight this battle so bitterly, except that if it wins more seats in Bihar Assembly, it can get more number of its candidates elected to Rajya Sabha. This helps BJP to push through all the bills and concessions which they have promised to Indian Capitalists and Foreign Capitalists. The worst thing is, BJP has brought into elections, the issue of beef-eating to polarise the electorate, on the basis of religion. There are many more issues which definitely deserve great attention from the ruling party, than the beaf eating.

Besides, if BJP loses Bihar Elections, the position of Mr. Narendra Modi may become untenable in his own party. There may be a revolt.

If BJP wins in Bihar, Mr. Narendra Modi's dictatorial tendencies will sky-rocket.

TODAY'S CONTEXTUAL VERSES

CONTEXT: In the Mahabharata Epic, a gambling binge of dice took place between Pandavas and Kauravas. According to the Epic, Sakuni used deceptive methods to defeat PAnDavas. After much turmoil in the Court of Dhritarashtra, Pandavas had to move to forests for a 13 year exile and 1 year of incognito hiding.

The following verses by Nannaya in his Mahabharata Translation of Telugu language (11th Century A.D. , older than Chaucer's Canterbury Tales) which describe with great adeptness, the manner in which the five Pandava Princes and their Queen Draupadi was walking on the path to the Forests. Roman Script and English translation for this will be provided as early as possible.

Late Kishore Mohan Ganguli's transaltion of the above verses which describes the demeanour of the Pandavas when they were leaving to the forest exile.

Sabha Parva Chapter 079

Vaisampayana said,--As soon as Vidura endued with great foresight came unto him king Dhritarashtra, the son of Amvika, timidly asked his brother,--'How doth Yudhishthira, the son of Dharma, proceed along? And how Arjuna? And how the twin sons of Madri? And how, O Kshatta, doth Dhaumya proceed along? And how the illustrious Draupadi? I desire to hear everything, O Kshatta; describe to me all their acts.

Vidura replied,--'Yudhishthira, the son of Kunti, hath gone away covering his face with his cloth. And Bhima, O king, hath gone away looking at his own mighty arms. And Jishnu (Arjuna) hath gone away, following the king spreading sand-grains around. And Sahadeva, the son of Madri, hath gone away besmearing his face, and Nakula, the handsomest of men, O king, hath gone away, staining himself with dust and his heart in great affliction. And the large-eyed and beautiful Krishna hath gone away, covering her face with her dishevelled hair following in the wake of the king, weeping and in tears. And O monarch, Dhaumya goeth along the road, with kusa grass in hand, and uttering the aweful mantras of Sama Veda that relate to Yama.

Dhritarashtra asked,--Tell me, O Vidura, why is it that the Pandavas are leaving Hastinapore in such varied guise.

Vidura replied,--'Though persecuted by thy sons and robbed of his kingdom and wealth the mind of the wise king Yudhishthira the just hath not yet deviated from the path of virtue. King Yudhishthira is always kind, O Bharata, to thy children.

Though deprived (of his kingdom and possessions) by foul means, filled with wrath as he is, he doth not open eyes. 'I should not burn the people by looking at them with angry eyes,'--thinking so, the royal son of Pandu goeth covering his face.

Listen to me as I tell thee, O bull of the Bharata race, why Bhima goeth so. 'There is none equal to me in strength of arms,' thinking so Bhima goeth repeatedly stretching forth his mighty arms. And, O king, proud of the strength of his arms, Vrikodara goeth, exhibiting them and desiring to do unto his enemies deeds worthy of those arms.

And Arjuna the son of Kunti, capable of using both his arms (in wielding the Gandiva) followeth the footsteps of Yudhishthira, scattering sand-grains emblematical of the arrows he would shower in battle. O Bharata, he indicateth that as the sand-grains are scattered by him with ease, so will he rain arrows with perfect ease on the foe (in time of battle). And Sahadeva goeth besmearing his lace, thinking 'None may recognise me in this day of trouble.'

And, O exalted one, Nakula goeth staining himself with dust thinking, 'Lest otherwise I steal the hearts of the ladies that may look at me.'

And Draupadi goeth, attired in one piece of stained cloth, her hair dishevelled, and weeping, signifying--'The wives of those for whom I have been reduced to such a plight, shall on the fourteenth year hence be deprived of husbands, sons and relatives and dear ones and smeared all over with blood, with hair dishevelled and all in their feminine seasons enter Hastinapore having offered oblations of water (unto the manes of those they will have lost).

Question: Who are Pandavas and who are Kauravas in the Bihar Electoral Battle? Do you mean to say that whoever loses in the elections should be called Pandavas, and they should go to exile (a sort of person-a-nongrata status in this Capitalist world) covering their heads and faces with towels?

Na. Na. There is no such distinction. If we study Mahabharata thoroughly, we can realise that neither Pandavas nor Kauravas were truly noble. Both like our today's politicians were afflicted with animosities, greed, hatred, pride, rudeness, sloth, treachery, and above all, "LEAST CONCERN FOR THE PEOPLE THEY RULE". न. न. (TO CONTINUE, WE MAY HAVE TO WRITE A THOUSAND PAGES, SOME DAY).

564 Will Mr. Narendra Modi be greater than Bali, Karna, Sibi, Chandra and dadhIci?

We shall hope that People of Residual Andhra Pradesh will not develop envy or hatred towards Biharis, for their fortune in getting Rs. 125,000 crore (Rs. 1.25 trillion) largesse from Shri Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, in the form of special packages. Probably that bribe may be enough to wean away the the voting sheep of Bihar from the flocks of Lalu and Nitish. Or else, how to interpret this bountiful dole or bakshis from Mr. Narendra Modi? Earlier, on 25th July 2015, at the Parivartan Ralley Muzaffarpur, Bihar, he offered only Rs. 50,000 crore (1/2 trillion Rupees).

Rulers of all parties and all Governments in India offering moneys and gadgets to voters by spending State Funds just before the notification of elections, is not NEW. In fact, Congress has perfected this art. Congress had done it, even during Indira Gandhi's reign. Then, at least some people expected Mr. Modi to be different from the Congress Rulers. But, unfortunately, Modi Chakravarti has belied all the expectations of his well-wishers and worshippers.

If Modi has the generosity to offer Rs. 1.25 trillion to Bihar, how mush he is going to offer to Bengal , when its elections will be due next year? Rs. 3 trillion? Are Biharis blue-eyed boys and Andhras beggars?

Prosody used in this verse: This verse is in the Telugu prosody called sIsam. A sIsam verse comes with four LONG feet (double length) of its own. It will also be supported by a lighter verse of 4 feet of shorter length called tETa gIti or anther verse called ATa veladi (MEANING: DANCING DAMSEL. Actually the word "veladi" refers to a girl who comes for a price (vela=price). But that meaning is no longer valid. Hence Dancing Damsel).

This particular sIsam (I do not know the meaning of sIsam. Popular meanings such as a glass bottle, lead metal, do not match the meaning for a meter of a verse. Hence this ignorance) has a tETa gIti tail. This sIsam verse has tETA gIti (meaning of tETa gITI: Crystal clear verse) as its supplement.

Approximate English gist. This verse is from the second Chapter (dvitIyA ASvAsam) of 17th Century's Telugu poet cEmakUra venkaTa kavi's work "vijaya vilAsam". The poet received his patronage from a South Indian king by name Achyuta rAya raghunAtha nAyaka. As per the common custom of poetic yore of his days, Cemakura Venkata Kavi was indulging in hyperbolic praise of his patron. The poet is comparing his patron to great charity donors of Indian Mythology: 1. Emperor Bali. 2. Mahabharata king Karna (King of Anga and , close friend of duryOdhana). 3. Emperor Sibi. 4. Moon. According to the poet, all these people pale into insignificance when compared to the generosity of King Achuyata Raya.

Bali risked his kingdom and life, by promising and fulfilling his promise of giving three feet of land to a brAhmana dwarf boy called VAmana (vishNu in his vAmana incarnation). Here poet venkaTa kavi says that Bali gave just what was asked by vAmana and not more. What is the greatness in giving what the seeker asks? More ought to have been counter-offered.

Arka means sun. sUti means son. Arka sUti means Sun's son i.e. King Karna. Karna has great reputation for his charitable dispensation. Arjuna's father Indra went to Karna and asked him for his chest-armour covering and ear rings (with which Karna was believed to have been born with). Karna gave them away, by severing them form his body with a sword, in spite of knowing that, the extreme charity will spell his doom, and in spite of fore-warning by his father Sun God. Poet Venkata Kavi says that Karna's charity was just giving whatever comes to his mind at a particularl time. He does not give to the extent that the seekers' desires are full extinguished.

Emperor Sibi was approached by Chief of Demy Gods- Indra, and the Fire God Agni. Indra was disguised as a falcon. Fire God was disguised as a pigeon. Falcon was chasing the pigeon. Both reach Sibi, in such a manner that Sibi was tempted to offer to save the pigeon. In return for foregoing his food i.e. the pigeon, the falcon asked for the own flesh of Sibi himself. Then a balance was brought, and Sibi went on cutting his flesh and putting in one pan of the balance, while in the second pan, the pigeon stood, to facilitate weighin. Finally Sibi's charity won. The poet is in order to exaggerate the largess of Achyuta Raghunatha Raya, has tried to belittle the munificence of Sibi. The poet says that Sibi offered his flesh, matching only to the weight of the pigoen. Nothing more. He didn't offer all of his flesh.

The fourth foot of the SIsam verse refes to the Moon God. amrita= nectar. karuDu=one who makes, or one whose rays are nectarlike, i.e. moonlight. Moon God does not shower moonlight everyday. He showers only on some days, during some parts of the night. Timings and Quantities are limited, BUT not boundless.

The four line supplementary verse declares Achyuta Raghunatha Raya as peerless and unrivaled.

ybrao-a-donkey's humble views. I shall not insist that you agree with me.

This poet Shri Chemakura Venkata Kavi, forgot to mention about the Great Sage dadhIchi who gave away his bones to Demy-Gods to enable Indra obtain his Vajra weapon from it.
We should now ask our Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Mr. Muppavarapu Venkaiah Naidu, to describe the immeasurable chivalric magnanimity of Mr. Narendra Modi. Shri Venkaiah Naidu has great reputation as a camatkAri and coiner-of-words. We shall wait and see.

Mr. Nara Chandra Babu Naidu is waitiing with a begging bowl. So far, he could not get a suitable date of appointment with Mr. Narendra Modi. PMO is dilly-dallying. When the meet materialises, how much this beggar will ask and that benefactor will give, we shall wait and see. How much will Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu ask? How much will Modi give? Will Modi condescend down to give an appointment to Babu? There will be no elections in Residual Andhra Pradesh till 2019.

How much did Lalu and Nitish ask Mr. Narendra Modi, for Bihar? Is Mr. Modi's lofty heroic splurge voluntary?

These are only promises. Though the Mr. Modi has not promised any billions or trillions of the people of Andhra before the 2014 elections, he had made tall promises. But, nothing materialised. Will something really materialise for the people of Bihar?

497 Not cat, but grimalkin!

In Telugu language, we have a maxim: "pilli kAdu mArjAlam!". Its approximate English gist is "Not cat, but grimalkin or pussy!" .

This proverb is used when persons persist with the same thing, in spite of criticisms, demors, and objections. They simply remove the word which faced a hurdle, replace it with another word which means the same thing, just to show that , they are making changes. But no change is made in reality. In the above proverb pilli and mArjAlam mean the same thing. Billi and mArjAl mean the same thing in Hindi. Cat and grimalkin mean the same things with minor variations.

Recently, the Congress of the Communist Party of India Marxist (CPIM or CPM) held its jamboree Congress in Visakhapatnam. They replaced their Party's General Secretary Mr. Prakash Karat with Mr. Seetharam Yechury. They tried to create an impression that they are going to rebuild the party afresh, changing everything.

But indications are, that nothing drastic will really take place.

Let us take for example: In Bihar, CPM may allow its State Unit to make seat adjustments with Laloo-Nitish Combine, along with Bihar's Congress Party. In West Bengal, since Ms. Mamata Banerjee has become formidable (दुर्जय), CPIM may allow its Bengal State Unit to have electoral seat adjustments with Congress.

CPIM top bosses should understand that playing second fiddle to Congress and Regional Parties, in the name or electoral alliances or seat adjustments, has ruined the Party, because by doing so, CPM will be indirectly asking its supporters to vote for the bourgeoisie parties. Even after elections, CPIM will have to, and will continue its soft pedalling with the bourgeoisie parties.

In Telugu language, there is another proverb: Aru nelalu sahavAsam cEstE, aTu vALLiTu, iTu vALLaTu avutAru. Approximate English gist: When two persons make friendship for six months, both the parties exchange their characters and characteristics, and barter their personalities. That means a left party like CPM will become a bourgeoisie party, and bourgeoisie parties like Lalu-Nitish combine, Congress will behave like Leftist Parties.

To revise.
