1134 MCQ Tests, Current Affairs, Bourgeoisie Party Compulsions

TODAY'S headlines: :

■ INFOSYS IS A PART OF THE ROTTEN INDIAN CORPORATE SYSTEM ♞:

▲1. Reports about Class Action Suits being filed against Infosys, only reflect what happens in Indian Corporate Culture. Satyam Computers scandal which came out in 2009 was only a Tip of the Iceberg beneath the placid looking Indian Corporate World. ▼
▲2. Frauds are systemic in Indian Corporate World. There is no use of blaming only Infosys.▼
▲3. Fudging of Accounts is quite common in Indian Corporates, both Indian Private Sector and Public Sector. Prior to emergence of SEBI as Controller, anybody could cheat Indian Investors and Institutional Lenders at will. Not much skills and Public Relations were required earlier. Now more skills and PR work is needed. ▼
▲4. Indian Chartered Accountants, Chartered Accountant Firms and Companies, and their Apex body THE INSTITUTE OF CHARTERED ACCOUNTANTS OF INDIA- set up by Act of Parliament, have all failed in maintaining their professional values and the concomitant honors. ▼
▲5. In the humble view of this ybrao-a-donkey, "Earning one's livelihood, personal wealth through a Profession which requires high levels of moral turpitude and courage" and "Maintenance of Self-Respect, Professional Ethics" are mutually exclusive. If the Chartered Accountants are to earn their livelihood, buy homes and commercial complexes, accumulate gold, make their children greater moolah-makers than themselves, then they have to satisfy their bosses who are none but Corporate Promoters, Directors, CEOs and CFOs. ▼
✔The rot in Indian Corporate P&L Accounts and Balance Sheets is a theme for a hundred-thousand-page tome. Shall write some other day.♝

WHY DID BJP SO EASILY SURRENDER TO JJP IN HARIYANA, AND WHY THERE IS A TUG OF WAR BETWEEN BJP AND SHIV SENA IN MAHARASHTRA?

:
▲1. In Hariyana, BJP needs support of 6 MLAs to cross the magic figure. Eight indepedents have won, in the 2019 Haryana Elections, including Shri Gopal Kanda, Former Congress Minister, and lone member of Haryana LokHit party. If BJP is to capture the support of the all the eight Independents, it has to invite even Mr. Gopal Kanda, who is accused of rape cases, and instigation of suicide. Shri Modi, Shri Amit Shah, and Shri ML Khattar might not have any objection to invite Shri Kanda. Oddly, Ms. Uma Bharti, Former Union Minister raised a "moral" finger. ▼
▲2. BJP might have found it more convenient to take the support of JJP founded by Mr. Dushyant Chautala, which secured 10 members in its maiden attempt. ▼
▲3. if BJP does not form Government by hook or crook, BJP MLAs may not hesitate to look for greener pastures. Support will not come without a Price. The Price which BJP has to pay is offering Deputy Chief Ministership to Dushyant Chautala. ▼
▲4. BJP went down from 122 seats in 2014 to 105 seats in 2019. In Maharashtra, BJP has 105 seats and Shiv Sena Party has 56. Shiv Sena wants 50-50% Power Sharing. It wants change of Chief Ministership after 2.5 years midstream. Mr. Aditya Thakre s/o Mr. Uddhav Thakre is to be annointed as Chief Minister, after 2.5 years. ▼
▲5. In bourgeoisie Capitalistic Politics, every Political Party has to show Income Avenues to its MLAs. This is not possible by extending support from outside, or by sitting in Opposition. Besides, BJP is hell-bent-upon decimating all the Regional Parties, and the Indian National Congress. Only by capturing Power, a Party can satisfy all its MLAs. Otherwise, MLAs will jump into the Ruling Party. It is happening in every State. (9as)▼

CHANDRAYAN-2, no need to worry about partial failure of Chandrayan-2

:

♛Not receiving signals, as per news reports, may be owing to engulfing of the Vikram and Pragnan by dust, and once the dust things down, we may get signals.
♛Even if landing on moon is a failure, it is only a temporary set back. In Chandrayan-3, we can trace out errors, correct them, and succeed in full.
♛Landing on moon is not our priority. It may be a priority for vote catching,vote-hunting politicians.
♛Today, tribals are carrying pregnant women and sick persons on doli like structures for 15 to 30 kms. to reach hospitals. This is really abominable for a $5 trillion Economy. (99824)

OUTDATED JAIL RULES?

:

♛Mr. P. Chidambaram, Former Finance Minister was sent to Judicial Remand at Tihar Jail, New Delhi, on 6.9.2019.
♛What appeared strange for me is: He has applied Court's permission for taking his spectacles into Jail. It is not clear whether Court has granted it or not. Probably, the Court might have granted it.
♛In my personal humble view, Spectacles form an integral part of a person's life, probably as important as wife and children. By requiring to part with spectacles before entering into jail life, the Jail rules appear to be violating human rights of prisoners, particularly under-trial-prisoners.
♛Jail Manuals may have to be rewritten, to make them more humane, irrespective of whether the prisoner is Former Finance Minister or an Auto Driver.
♛The question of which medicines are to be allowed to be carried by the under-trial-prisoner into his jail, and which are not to be carried, can be decided by the Jail doctor, who pre-examines him before entering the jail. Requiring court's permission for carrying medicines seems to me to be wasting Court's time. (99622)

FOREIGN DIRECT INVESTMENT, does liberalising FDI revive Growth in India?

:

♛It must be a matter of extreme regret that even after 71 years of Independence, India is begging for Foreign Investments to promote its Economic Growth.
♛Growth can also be promoted through domestic private investments. Many Industrial Houses like Tatas are investing abroad. Why they are limping in investing in India?
♛India's domestic Industrialists are not invested in Manufacturing. They want easy profits.
♛Government of India can also do some Keynesian Pump-priming, so that Investment and Income Multipliers work.
♛Increase in productive expenditure by GOVERNMENT OF INDIA can also facilitate Income and Investment Multipliers because, Productive Expenditure raises demand for Tangible goods, apart from increasing Factor Incomes. (99618).

LEGAL BATTLES, COSTS: who will bear for ordinary Congress Workers?

:

♛Justifiably or unjustiably, the ED and CBI have arrested many top Congress Leaders for their Economic Offenses.
♛The Top Congress Leaders like Mr. P. Chidambaram, Mr. Karty Chidambaram are defended by legal Stalwarts like Messrs. Kapil Sibal, Abhishek Singhwi, who normally charge some hundreds of thousands of bucks for their appearances. They may be defending the Top Congress Leaders at concessional rates or freely, only the Defender and the Defended know.
♛Some Congress Workers are raising Street demonstrations and raising slogans against the Govt. If the Govt. arrests and foists cases on them, who will defend them? At what fees?
♛Definitely Stalwart Lawyers like Mr. Sibal, Mr. Singhwi will not defend them, because the business is small for their level.
♛Party workers of all parties beware! (99826)

♛The poet is presenting the two wings/sides and asking the reader to chose.♝

♛The first choice: Be an aficianado! As an enthusiast you can, with your nails, split the betel leaves and keep them with affection on to the lips of the Saka nymphs (presumed to be Saka=Greek lasses). ♛The second choice: Be an all renouncing Sage! As a compassionate ascetic, you can with the sharp stones of the Himalayan hills, cut the ‘darbha' grass which has grown grEn like rEds of bambO plants, and fEd with loving care on to the mouths of deer.♝

TODAY'S QUOTE FROM KARL MARX: :

Karl Marx & ENGELS , The Civil War in France♞:
♛Working men’s Paris, with its Commune, will be forever celebrated as the glorious harbinger of a new society. Its martyrs are enshrined in the great heart of the working class. Its exterminators history has already nailed to that eternal pillory from which all the prayers of their priest will not avail to redeem them.♝

ybrao-a-donkey's observation: Even today, the Working Classes in France are more active when compared to their CounterParts in EURACANZ.

TODAY'S QUOTE FROM VYASA MAHABHARATA ENGL. TRANSL.: :

■VYASA MAHABHARATA TRANSLATED BY Ganguli, BOOK3, BOOK OF FOREST/m03078.♞:

♛The Mahabharata, Book 3: Vana Parva: Nalopakhyana Parva♝

♛"Vrihadaswa said, 'After the festivities had commenced in the city that was full of joy and without anxiety of any kind, the king with a large force brought Damayanti (from her father's home).♝

♛ And her father, too, that slayer of hostile heroes, Bhima of terrible prowess and immeasurable soul, sent his daughter, having honoured her duly.♝

♛ And upon the arrival of the princess of Vidarbha accompanied by her son and daughter, king Nala began to pass his days in joy like the chief of the celestials in the gardens of Nandana.♝

♛ And the king of undying fame, having regained his kingdom and becoming illustrious among monarchs of the island of Jamvu, began once more to rule it.♝

♛ And he duly performed numerous sacrifices with abundant gifts to Brahmanas.♝

♛ O great king, you also wilt with your kindred and relatives, so blaze forth in effulgence soon.♝

♛ For, O foremost of men, it was thus that subjugator of hostile cities, king Nala, had fallen into distress along with his wife, in consequence, O bull of Bharata race of dice.♝

♛ And, O lord of the earth, Nala suffered such dire woe all alone and recovered his prosperity, whereas thou, O son of Pandu, with heart fixed on virtue, are sporting in joy in this great forest, accompanied by your brothers and Krishna.♝

♛ When you are also, O monarch, mixing daily with blessed Brahmanas versed in the Vedas and their branches, you hast little cause for sorrow.♝

♛ This history, besides, of the Naga Karkotaka, of Damayanti, of Nala and of that royal sage Rituparna, is destructive of evil.♝

♛ And, O you of unfading glory, this history, destructive of the influence of Kali, is capable, O king, of comforting persons ♝

♛like you when they listen to it.♝

♛ And reflecting upon the uncertainty (of success) of human exertion, it behoveth you not to joy or grieve at prosperity or adversity.♝

♛ Having listened to this history, be comforted, O king, and yield not to grief.♝

♛ It behoveth you not, O great king, to pine under calamity.♝

♛ Indeed, men of self-possession, reflecting upon the caprice of destiny and the fruitlessness of exertion, never suffer themselves to be depressed.♝

♛ They that will repeatedly recite this noble history of Nala, and that will hear it recited, will never be touched by adversity.♝

♛ He that listeneth to this old and excellent history hath all his purposes crowned with success and, without doubt, obtaineth fame, besides sons and grandsons and animals, a high position among men, and health, and joy.♝

♛ And, O king, the fear also that thou entertainest, viz.♝

♛, {Some one skilled in dice will summon me), I will for once dispel.♝

♛ O you of invincible prowess, I know the science of dice in its entirety.♝

♛ I am gratified with thee; take this lore, O son of Kunti, I will tell unto thee.♝

♛ "King Yudhishthira then, with a glad heart, said unto Vrihadaswa, 'O illustrious one, I desire to learn the science of dice from thee.♝

♛The Rishi then gave his dice-lore unto the high-souled son of Pandu, and having given it unto him, that great ascetic went to the sacred waters of Hayasirsha for a bath.♝
