709 India is a pluralist country. While BJP can pray gold-jewelled silk clad Bharat Mata, Kanhaiya & Co. can hail their own version of Bharat Mata. दो विभिन्न भारत माता साध्य है। రెండు భిన్నమైన భరతమాతలు సాధ్యమే.

Now, that Mr. Mohan Bhagavat, the Elderlyman of R.S.S. has clarified that they are not going impose the utterance of "Bharat Mata ki jai" as a token of nationalism or patriotism, the time has, probably come for us to treat the matter as closed, and start something else afresh. Let us hope that Mr. Mohan Bhagawat will not change his stance after the Elections to the State Assemblies of Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Assam, Kerala, Bengal are over.

Mr. Kanhaiah Kumar, the ecstatic-stance possessed JNU student leader, while speaking at Vijayawada, has raised one important pertinent question. The Bharat Mata of the Ruling Party is dressed in silk sarees and bejewelled with gold ornaments, whereas the 'typical Bharat Mata' as a representative of Indian Womanhood is a half-starved, wearing torn clothes, hard-working woman, beset by her hungry children beseeching her for food.

About this Kanhaiyakumar's Bharat Mata, there seems to be one article by the noted journalist Shri Akar Patel. Unfortunately, I could not get it and read it. I shall shortly fulfil this need.

But, in TimesofIndia-IndiaTimes.Com, there is one important blog which seems to be a response to Mr. Akar Patel's article. Here is its link: Click to go to TimesofIndia.indiatimes.com. date: 21st March 2016. .

The main theme of this blogger's (Shri Abhilash Gaur) is: "If you can’t stand Kanhaiya’s view of Bharat Mata, try Nehru’s", is its title. "You" here seems to refer to Mr. Akar Patel , or Readers who cannot adjust with Kanhaiya Kumar's vision of Indian Bharat Mata. This blog has quoted from Jawaharlal Nehru's Autobiography by name "India Old and New".

I furnish below a FREE DOWNLOAD LINK to Jawaharlal Nehru's autobiography, available at Archive.Org. It is about 444 pages in size. (Click to go to) Archive.org.

I am directly quoting from Late Jawaharlal Nehru's Autobiography, contents of which are self-explicit.

It is curious how one cannot resist the tendency to give an anthropomorphic form to a country. Such is the force of habit and early associations. India becomes Bharat Mata, Mother India, a beautiful lady, very old but ever youthful in appearance, sad-eyed and forlorn, cruelly treated by aliens and outsiders, and calling upon her children to pro tect her. Some such picture rouses the emotions of hundreds of thousands and drives them to action and sacrifice. And yet India is in the main the peasant and the worker, not beautiful to look at, for poverty is not beautiful. Does the beautiful lady of our imaginations represent the bare-bodied and bent workers in the fields and factories? Or the small group of those who have from ages past crushed the masses and exploited them, imposed cruel customs on them and made many of them even untouchable? We seek to cover truth by the creatures of our imaginations and endeavor to escape from reality to a world of dreams.

1. Our word-juggler, and the Asst-de-Publicity man of our Resurgent India Shri Narendra Modi, i.e. our Parliamentary Affairs and Urban Development Minister, has two clarify about this two Bharat MatAs. Audi Alterim Partem.

2. While the BJP, RSS, ABVP, and their followers can pray to the crown-saffron-silk-gold version of Bharat Mata, others who do not want to hail the BJP Version of Bharat Mata, can hail the Kanhaiya Kumar Version of Bharat Mata.

3. Our country is accommodative and pluralistic. Let BJP and its associate bodies, not try to NARROW it down.

TAIL PIECE धुमकेतु తోకచుక్క

Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar has come to Hyderabad by air. Who bore his air-fare? Corporates will not bear. Of course, we should be fortunate, that though his mother's monthly income is just Rs. 3,000/-, he has not yet started using CHARTERED AIRCRAFT. When he becomes some Chief Minister or Prime Minister will he wear expensive coats?

Mr. Narayana, our CPI National Executive Member from Telangana, seems to be too eager to fly piggyback on Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar's back. He wrote one Telugu article in second top Telugu Daily Andhra Jyothi dt. 29.3.2016, indicating that he takes pride in supporting Kanhaiaya (kannayyaku maddatuku garva paDutunnAnu). Mr. Narayana, like Kanhaiya Kumar, seems to be a person in a hurry.

702 (Part 6 of Kanhaiya-JNU affair)- Will Mr. Sitaram Yechury send Lal Salams to Afzal Guru and Yakoub Momen also? Will he send his Lal Salams to Asaduddin Ovaisi also?

Mr. Sitaram Yechury, the Boss of Communist Party of India (Marxist), popular in India as CPIM or CPM has tweeted his Lal Salams to Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar, the JNU Students Leader on March 3, 2016. But Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar appears to be getting deeply entrenched and entangled in his support to Afzal Guru and Yakoub Momen's followers. Will Mr. Sitaram Yechury continue his Lal Salams to Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar, if Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar continues his association with the followers of Afzal Guru and Yakoub Momen?

The High Power Committee appointed by JNU's Vice Chancellor, submitted its report on the happenings in JNU on Feb. 9. Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar and other students sought time for replying JNU's Notice, to consult Legal opinion. The JNU gave them time upto 5 pm on 18.3.2016. After perusing the Replies of the Students, and taking into consideration the Recommendations of the High Power Committee, the VC may take his decision, of course after consulting Home Ministry and HRD Ministry.

The justification of VC's decision, will again become an object of Judicial Review, because the affected students will approach High Courts u/article 226 of Constitution, and Supreme Court u/article 32 of Constitution. If High Court's decision goes against the JNU, or the Students, either party will again appeal to Supreme Court for Revision / SLP. etc. etc.

While the AAP Government has sent the relevant videos to a Private Lab. in Hyderabad, and that Private Lab confirmed that 2 of the 5 videos are doctored, Mr. Sitaram Yechury was happy with the Private Lab's Report, rather than asking for analyses of the reports in a Government Laboratory.

Whether the 2/5 of Videos are doctored and 3/5 of the Videos are not doctored, the High Power Committee has made two findings: Anti India slogans were given by some persons wearing scarfs/masks. There are Eye-witnesses.

We have gauged this issue of "Sloganeering by outsiders" in Part 1 and Part 2 (see blog Posts 676, 686, 690, 693, 699). Now, the High Power Panel of JNU confirmed it. They found some Security Lapses, in allowing outsiders into the Meeting.

In India, the key problem is OUTSIDERS ARE HYJACKING MEETINGS AND RALLIES. When lawyers thrashed Kanhaiya Kumar in Patiala Courts, some outsiders in Lawyers' Coats seem to have infiltrated into the crowd, in spite of nearly 1000 Police Personnel guarding there.

The same is the case in the burning of Ratnachal Express in Tuni Railway Station, during Kapu Reservation Agitation led by Mr. Mudragada Padmanabham in Andhra Pradesh.

The same is the case, in large scale destruction of Public Property during Jat Reservation Agitation.

What is the lesson from all this? Meetings are to be held in Closed Halls, collecting xerox copies of identity cards, Adhar Cards, entering all the details in separate Registers. Still, better method will be to have BioMetric Attendance hand-machines for checking finger prints, iris, etc. If the Organisers fail to do it, Police should do it independently.

Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar appears to be confusing himself by mixing up the problems of socio-economic backwardness of dalits, and their sufferings - with Afzal Guru, Yakoub Momen, something else, something else. In the process, he is entangling himself irretrivably.

WHO SHOULD DECIDE WHAT IS NATIONAL, AND WHAT IS NOT NATIONAL

Now, the plate of Indian Citizens is full. The Maharashtra Assembly expelled an AIMIM M.L.A. from the Assembly, because he refused to say "Bharat MAtA ki Jai". Of course, that MLA, and their leader Asaduddin Ovaisi, said they will say "Jai Hind", and they confirmed their adherence to India's Constitution.

Then, there are some rewards for "tongue-cutters", who will cut the tongues of the blasphemers. How seriously, Maharashtra Police will pursue the cases against those who announced rewards for the tongue-cutters? How seriously, Maharashtra Police will follow up cases against Mr. Asaduddin Ovaisi, for his speeches which are likely to intensify communal divide? These two are going to be serious questions.

Mr. Sitaram Yechury, CPIM boss, without thinking deeply about Afzal Guru and Yakoub Momen, tweeted Lal Salam to Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar. By doing this, Mr. Sitaram Yechury and CPIM are indirectly supporting Afzal Guru and Yakoub Momen. Needless say , that Senior Leaders are to be very careful in their actions, because their followers blindly imitate them. (This applies to Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Mr. Narendra Modi, and Ms. Sonia Gandhi also).

Lal Salam Comrade Kanhaiya. आज़ाद हिंदुस्तान का भविष्य आप की पीढ़ी के ही हाथों में है.. #JNULongLive 499 retweets 521 likes Sitaram Yechury ‏@SitaramYechury Mar 3

We have to see whether Mr. Sitaram Yechury will tweet his Lal Salams to Asaduddin Ovaisi also.

Simultaneously, the Union Government should appoint a Independent Special Judicial Commission with Constitutional Experts, to decide and adjudicate whether Bharat Mata ki Jai, Vande Mataram, should become legally Enforceable National Slogans, like National Anthem. It is high time, GOI and Supreme Court bring clarity on this serious issue which is going to threaten the National Integrity of India. That Special Commission + GOI + Supreme Court have to decide on the role to be played by Extra-Constitutional Power Groups and NGOs.

Small disputes at local level, can culminate in Civil Wars at National Level. Our Leaders have to foresee a lot, and meet the future half-way ahead before Crises strike us fatally. In Management Terminology, this is called STRATEGY PLANNING. Mr. Narendra Modi, Mr. Rajnath Singh, Ms. Smriti Irani, pl. wake up from your dreams.

699 Part 5- It will be better if Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar goes back and helps his people

According to News Reports, a High level inquiry committee constituted by its Vice Chancellor to inquire into the Feb. 9 incident of "Anti-National Slogans at JNU", has submitted its unanimous report. It appears that the Committee has has recommended rustication of students union president Kanhaiya Kumar, Umar Khalid, Anirban Bhattacharya and two other students for their alleged role in a controversial event last month at which anti-national slogans were raised. For those who wish to read about the Newsreport, here is the Link: Click to go to DeccanChronicle.com dt. 15.3.16.

Here is another quote from theHindu.Com.

"...The high level inquiry committee constituted by the VC to enquire into the incident has submitted a unanimous report... As per the report, some students have been found to have violated the university rules and norms. There are standard provisions in the university to take action in such cases. The high level inquiry is based on the rules of discipline and proper conduct of JNU. ... ... The VC has apprised the Dean’s Committee of the summary of the inquiry committee recommendations. The office of the Chief Proctor would take further action by issuing show-cause notices to the concerned students who have been found violating the rules and norms of the university ...

I have a special affection and affinity for the word "rustication", as a student of M.A. (English Literature, Distance Education, Nagarjuna University), which was taken up and completed by me with madness, after completing my M.A. (History).

We shall first start with the word: "rusticate" , for the benefit of those who wish to tone up their vocabulary. According to Merriam-Webster.com, here is the meaning of the word "rusticate":--

Definition of rusticate: rus·ti·cat·edrus·ti·cat·ing, intransitive verb, : to go into or reside in the country : follow a rustic life.

transitive verb:

1 chiefly British : to suspend from school or college

2 : to build or face with usually rough-surfaced masonry blocks having beveled or rebated edges producing pronounced joints.

3 a : to compel to reside in the country b : to cause to become rustic : implant rustic mannerisms in

According to the Merriam-Websters.com, the word was first used in 1660.

During my English Literature Studies days, I used to spend several solitary nights, mulling over the RUSTICATION of John Milton, from Christ's College, at Cambridge. Here is Wikipedia.org's narration about his stint at Cambridge, and his rustication:

...In 1625 Milton began attending Christ's College, Cambridge. He graduated with a B.A. in 1629,[9] and ranked fourth of 24 honours graduates that year in the University of Cambridge.[10] Preparing to become an Anglican priest, Milton stayed on to obtain his Master of Arts degree on 3 July 1632.

Milton was probably rusticated (suspended) for quarrelling in his first year with his tutor, Bishop William Chappell. He was certainly at home in the Lent Term 1626; there he wrote his Elegia Prima, a first Latin elegy, to Charles Diodati, a friend from St Paul's. Based on remarks of John Aubrey, Chappell "whipt" Milton.[8] This story is now disputed, though certainly Milton disliked Chappell.[11] Historian Christopher Hill cautiously notes that Milton was "apparently" rusticated, and that the differences between Chappell and Milton may have been either religious or personal. ...

Throughout his Life, John Milton seems to have lived a saga of a sort of rebellous unpleasantness with Church and Formal Religion. There is not much difference between the situation prevailing then in Europe , where religious fanatics dominated the political scenario, and the present day scenario of India, where religion-linked Nationalism has come to the fore. There are several facets of Milton which are worth discussing, but not now at this particular blog-post.

Back to possible rustication of Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar:

The word "rustic" is the root of the verb "rusticate". As per Merriam-websters:

Simple Definition of rustic : of, relating to, or suitable for the country or people who live in the country. 2) made of rough wood

Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar is from a village in Bihar. Thus, he is a rustic, even literally. He might have been a sort of an agrestic during his early College days. After his shift to Delhi, for his Ph.D. he might have learnt the refinements of Metrogens. In Media photos and videos, he looks quite charming, may be bewitching charms. This might have added to his capability to attract the attention of his students crowds at the JNU.

Now, suppose the JNU banishes him ("rusticate" in their words). Will he go back to Bihar, and become a leader of the so-called rustics? It ought to be. I wish that he will. Villagers and politicians in Bihar may not allow Kanhaiya to do, but , he will have a very big lot to do in villages, rather than in Delhi. I always felt that Mr. Sitaram Yechury might have done a lot at Anaparti or Rampachodavaram, when compared to what he is doing in Delhi.

Everybody knows that, in most Indian Universities, Ph.D means preparation of Thesis(es) using the CONTROL X C V Cut Copy Paste Methods, produce some volumes in a hurry, get it accepted by "pandits" with the help of "purchase-able" guides, who themselves advise the Research Scholars to plagiarise. If Indian University Ph.D. Courses are to be cleansed and standards raised, such REFORMS should start with the Reformation of the so-called Wicked Corrupt Guides.

There may be some great Exceptional Research Scholars and Research Guides. I am not for generalisations.

Suspension from the Course and the University, or the probability of suspension, may cause immense mental disequilibrium to poor students, who depend for their survival on the concessional /free hostels, stipends, scholarships, fellowships etc. (I may not be correct, but I believe that the harassment at UOH, might have led to an anxiety and stress of insecurity to Vemula Rohit, which might have culminated in his suicide).

The problem with our villages, and the parents of our students in villages, is: there will be GREAT EXPECTATIONS. The boy is studying in Delhi, in a very big University. He will get his HIGHEST DEGREE (nothing to go beyond, like a Himalayan Cliff), get a University Professor job with Rs. one lac salary per month, etc. etc. A student, who does not / who could not finish his Studies can, therefore, never go back to his village, and face questions there. It is just like a youth who goes to Bollywood or Tollywood or Kollywood to become a Hero, and takes the incarnation of an Extra Actor earning daily wages. Hence, there can, never be a question of going back. An exception will arise only when the student has his body made of RURAL GRAINS.

I still have ample sympathies for Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar. He seems to have been misled by students who were receiving funds from Pakisthan and Saudi Arabia.

Last but not the least: High Power Committees in India, are not REAL HIGH POWER COMMITTEES. They are just Committees of Clerks. Even Ministers in this country are like Clerks or even worse. A peon (caprAsi) in Government cannot be easily removed without following due procedures, but a Minister can be easily removed at the whims and fancies of CMs and PMs. But, then CMs and PMs are again Clerks of Extra-Constitutional Authorities such as Ms. Sonia Gandhi, Mr. Mohan Bhagawat etc. Even Business Tycoons and Industrialists are capable of appointing and removing CMs and PMs. Hence much value cannot be given to the recommendations and decisions of High Power Committees , whether unanimous or otherwise.

There is a maxim: People get the Government they deserve. We have got the Government we are deserving. We have got to wait till 2019, to refresh ourselves.

A Telugu verse from Sumati Satakam is worth quoting:

కొంచెపు నరు సంగతిచే KONCEPU NARU SANGATI CE
అంచితముగ పెట్లు వచ్చు, అది ఎట్లన్నన్ ANCITAMUGA PETLU VACCU, ADI ETLANNAN
కించిత్తు నల్లి కుట్టిన KINCITTU NALLI KUTTINA
మంచమునకు పెట్లు వచ్చు మహిలో సుమతీ. MANCAMUNAKU PETLU VACCU MAHILO SUMATI.

English Gist: Making friendship with a malicious person can lead to blows to a normal person, after some days. How it is: When a sleeping cot (or a couch-bed) is infested with bed-bugs, the cot will be kept in hot sun, and beaten with sticks, so as to kill / flee the bugs. Here, the bugs are, the Anti Nationals who have tried to take over the JNU. Cot or the bed-couch is the JNU.

693 Part 4, of Kanhaiya Kumar is on Slippery Steps कन्हय्या कुमार रपटीला मार्ग में जाते जाते, जाते, फिसलन सीठियों पर नाच रहा है। కన్హయ్యా కుమార్ జారుడు మెట్లపై నృత్యం చేస్తున్నాడు

By a sheer quirk of fate of incidents, Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar, the JNU Students Union Leader, hailing from a poor family of Bihar was catapulted to an artificially raised celebrity status. In today's India of Moolah, a person without lucre, cannot stabilise himself. A person who can shower currency, even where a sprinkling is needed, can alone survive and shine. Surrounding persons may lend money to a poor person for sometime for their own personal reasons, but it will come only with strings, and with a high price, monetary or otherwise.

We shall start with some links, which indicate the slippery grounds on which Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar is standing, while fighting his case of Sedition.

1. Link: Click to go to deccanchronicle.com/nation/current-affairs/100316/kanhaiya-kumar-was-fined-by-jnu-for-alleged-misbehaviour-with-girl-student.html' .

For complete details of the incident, Readers will pl. see the Deccan Chronicle link above. The DC news also contains the girl's side of the happenings, her anxieties.

ybrao-a-donkey's provisional observation: The atmosphere is excessively polluted now. Before anything can be written honestly about this, normalcy has to come back. Prima facie, Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar seems to have erred, in case he called the complaining girl a psychopath, and warned her of dire consequences. It will become a sort of verbal assault, and threat.

Another question which may have to be looked into: Whether the proctor who investigated the girl's complaint, and fined Kanhaiya Kumar, Rs. 3,000/-, DID HE HEAR THE KANHAIYA KUMAR'S SIDE OF NARRATION ? Did he follow the maxim "Audi Alterim Partem? (Hear the other party)"? If so, what was the explanation furnished by Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar? Whether any witnesses were examined from both sides?

The Proctor should have sent the complaint to a Police Station of an appropriate jurisdiction for registration of a case, investigation, if Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar violated Indian Penal Code. Whether Mr. Kumar has violated Indian Penal Code or not will depend on facts of the case, and the statements of the witnesses. The Proctor has not apparently followed the due process. Levying a penalty of Rs. 3,000/- on a poor dalit student, whose mother's monthly income is just Rs. 3,000/- seems to be on a high side. This type of unilateral actions by Proctors, University Authorities can lead to genuine grievances of bias against "dalit" students.

About urinating at a Public Place: This is a part of National Culture of India. It has been going on since Centuries. This habit is not limited to only students. And urinating to walls is done not only by ASF students of the Communist Beliefs, but also by students of all beliefs, including Hindutva. This habit has to get corrected, by counselling through mass communication media, by organising meetings of students and inducting civilities and politenesses into their minds. It cannot be done in one day. Additional toilets will have to be built both for gents and Ladies at all likely places where an urge to urinate is likely to arise (just like accident-prone spots on a National Highway). I must say that Ladies suffer a lot in this respect, because where toilets are not available, they cannot urinate or defacate in open, whereas men can do by custom. Their urinary chambers, might have evolved over Centuries to accommodate more and more urine, depending on exigencies. But, we must recognise that they are the worst sufferers in this respect, when compared to men.

SOME PERSONAL EXPERIENCES YBRAO-a-donkey, NOT entirely irrelevant

I visited Delhi as a Tourist in 1978, while I was returning from a Training at Chandigarh. For Delhi Local site-seeing we boarded a Tourist bus run by a Private Travel Agency. They have packed a very tight sight seeing schedule, to be completed from morning to evening, with very short halts at different tourist spots.

After seeing Red Fort, and the "FRONT" side platform from which Prime Ministers make their Annual Independence Day Speeches, one or two passengers in our bus, started feeling an unstoppable urge to urinate. They said they can't wait long. Then, the guide who was conducting the Trip, showed a part of the tall wall of the Red Fort and asked them to urinate. That particular wall of the Red Fort was already dirty and wet, which meant that some Tourists and Citizens might have already urinated there. Adding two more persons didn't make any difference. Note: This happened in 1978. Things might have changed in Delhi, by 2016.

This happened a few years back. I was travelling in an RTC Bus, passing through a semi-urban place called "Pedanandipadu" in Guntur District. When this incident took place, I have become old, and developed a urinary incontinence (unstoppable urge to urinate, though only a few drops of output). In good old days, A.P.S.R.T.C. (Andhra Pradesh State RTC) Buses used to stop in Official Bus Stations with Toilet Facilities. Now-a-days, for marketing reasons, they have developed a habit of taking passengers at Market Chowrastas, and started avoiding regular visits to the Official Bus Stations which are situated in outskirts. I, suffering from a constant urge to urinate somehow, requested the Conductor and the Driver to take the bus to the RTC Bus Station, so that I can visit the toilets. Unfortunately, they did not oblige. They have their own compulsions.

Then I got down from the bus on the road itself, and searched for a place where I can ease myself. There were shops continuously. There were cart vendors. It was very hard to find a place to urinate. After some search, I found a somewhat semi-dry lake, in which buffaloes were swimming. The lake and its four banks have benches. For some years, it seems to have been well maintained. It was a Panchayat drinking water tank, which they may be filling from Nagarjuna Sagar Canal. There was some open place on the big road's margins. Since, buffaloes were swimming in the Tank, I wanted to take some risk of bad-behavior, and urinate on the road margin, though it is adjacent to the tank. The moment I unzipped my pant, a person came shouting, and started abusing me with profanities. I apologised to him, but he did not accept. He continued shouting . I zipped my pant, and left the place. His shouts, I heard for another 200 metres. After walking further 400 meters or so, I reached the Official Bus Station, went to the formal urinals and completed my task. Later, I board another bus, bought a fresh ticket, and continued my journey.

Link: Click to go to deccanchronicle.com/nation/current-affairs/110316/kanhaiya-kumar-s-picture-with-female-friend-goes-viral.html

The above Deccan Chronicle news contains the indignation of Kanhaiya Kumar, and his respectable friend. At this particular moment, I can only add that things have not changed in hundred years, since the days of Swami Vivekananda till 2016. We shall take this up in the forthcoming blogposts. In the meantime, those who know Telugu language can read Late Balivada Kanta Rao's novel "Sampangi".

For any issue, there will be two sides. The same is the case with male-female friendships, and how the society looks at friendships.

686 (Part 2 of Kanhaiya-JNU)-- Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar has a long way to go, and change a lot!

I have today downloaded a Hindi video of AzAdi speech of Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar, a Student Leader of JNU, Delhi. On going through the video, it appeared that his speech contains as much RHETORIC as the speeches of Ms. Smriti Irani, Union HRD Minister, in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, when she made Statements, and answered questions about Kanhaiya Kumar and Rohit Vemula. Like Ms. Smriti Irani, Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar also seems to have prepared and rehearsed his speech. Both Ms. Irani, and Mr. Kumar have great talent of Expressions, bewitching body language, voice modulation, abilities to stop and interact with the audience to extract favourable reactions etc. etc.

NOTE: This particular blog post is in a semi-finished state. It requires drastic revision, including change of view. Pl. bear with me.

In the video, people who were behind Mr. Kumar, seemed to be his supporters smiling and clapping , definitely not a neutral audience, just as we can see in the Parliament Videos, Ms. Smriti Irani behind her BJP MPs smiling and clapping.

For those who wish to read the salient points in English, of Kanhaiya Kumar's Speech, popular on Net as "AzAdi" speech. Link: Click to go to ndTV.com for important points of the speech

Subsequent to this Azadi Speech, Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar has given an Interview to theWire.com. Here is a link to theWire.com: Link: Click to go to theWire.Com for the interview.

For those who wish to download /view the 46 minutes Hindi video of the above speech from Youtube.Com, which runs about 28 mb. Link: Click to go to

We shall take one question from the interview as a sample:-

"...You mentioned in your speech a lot of the informal discussions you had with the police, how you were able to put forth you side of things to them. But what was it like in the ‘interrogations’? What kind of questions did they ask you?

They would give me questionnaires, say one would have about 20 questions. For me, about 19 of those 20 would be answered by ‘I don’t know’. Their questions were of the type, ‘who were the organisers of the programme?’, I said ‘I don’t know’, ‘Who were present there?’, I would say ‘I don’t know’, and so forth. There were no particularly complicated questions. But this is also a part of the investigation, I am not allowed to talk about it much. We respect the legal system. But I can say that altogether, the last 22 days were definitely a good experience. Now I understand the difference between studying a system and bearing it’s burden. ..."

Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar is not an innocent villager. He is highly educated and intelligent Ph.D. Student. When somebody requests him to speak in a meeting , that too when he intends to talk for a considerable time, how is it that he didn't know or how he did n't inquire from the inviting persons, who the organisers of the Meeting were, the purpose of the Meeting, who the other speakers were, agenda, how many people and who will be attending as audience etc. ?

Out of ten questions, for nine questions, how could he say that he didn't know? If the questions asked by the Police were totally unendurable, he should make public the questions he faced, and the answers he had given. The people will try to gauge, how fair were the Police in directing their questions to him. People of India, are aware of torturous methods of Police Questioning for extracting confessions from accused, but such methods are intended for those who do not have "celebrity status". Now, that Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar has a "celebrity status", the High Court and the Supreme Court are watching, there is a Media glare, it is highly unlikely that the Police would have put to him such coercive questions.

An English Version of the First Speech given by Mr. Kumar, which led to an imposition of Sedition Charges against him, is available at Link: Click to go to English Version of the First Speech at dbsjeyaraj.com . I could not get the text of his Hindi Speech at the JNU, instead of an English translation.

This speech is deeply political. This speech reflects the deep-rooted animosities which were rampant between the followers of Veer Savarkar and Late Golwalkar (2nd Head of RSS) represented by A.B.V.P. on one side, and the followers of Baba Saheb Ambedkar on the other side. For nursing that type of animosities, Universities cannot become Centers, whatever be the reasons for those animosities.

Whether it is Savarkar/Golwalkar or B.R. Ambedkar or Karl Marx or Mahatma Gandhi, obsessions with any one particular teaching, that those teachings alone are correct, and others are absolutely incorrect, can lead to conflicts between followers. We can't get perfect black or perfect white scenarios. There are bound to be gray areas. Even Manu Smriti has some merits and some demerits.

Unfortunately, oppression of the "losers in wars" by the Winners, condemning the losers to the outskirts of villages, and confining them to abominable occupations, went on in India for several Centuries. Only during the 20th Century, particularly after 1947, we have made a beginning to correct all such historical blunders. In the implementation part, several errors have taken place and are taking place. But, we are on the right path.

But, as I have already pointed out in many of of my blog posts, complete redressal of Grievances of the Oppressed Classes is possible only through True Total Socialism and Equalism. Complete redressals are not possible through half-hearted measures such as Reservations, preparation of separate Budgets, somebody becoming President of India or Governor of a State or a CJI. They are like palliatives and placebos, ointments and pain killers.

Fortunately, we have democracy in India, with adult suffrage. Since 80% of India's population are de-facto poor, are practising abominable occupations, not sufficient even for subsistence, are facing extreme risks of poverty-disease-insults and death, whatever be their caste, all such people ought to have voted for Parties which support true Socialism and Equalism. But, it is not happening. At least 75% of this 80% oppressed poor of India (which includes the Native Place and Native State of Bihar) i.e. 60% of the total voters, are voting for bourgeoisie parties, bringing them into power. For example, the Communist Party of India (CPI), to which Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar belongs to, contested a number of seats in Bihar. But did the dalits, and others who represent the Oppressed of Bihar support, CPI? Why didn't they elect at least 10 MLAs?

IN his first speech, Mr. Kumar pointed out BJP came to power with only 31% vote. But, it is common in Indian Elections. Congress too came to power with around 1/3 of votes polled, only. If CPI or CPM come to power either at Centre or in any State, there also it will be only with 1/3 of votes. There are several reasons for it. Hence, there is no use of blaming BJP for it.

It appears that, Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar chose to do his Ph.D. Research at JNU, on African Studies. I greatly appreciate that he had chosen to study the problems of African Countries and the African Peoples. In fact, I have my self, some years back spent sometime studying the problems of African Peoples, by collecting information on African Poverty, and publish at my blog Link: Click to go to Africayb.blogspot.com blog of ybrao-a-donkey. I could not continue it, as I thought that my focus should be getting Atheism and Marxism for Indian Society. Unless, Indian voters upgrade themselves into True Atheists, True Socialists and True Equalists, it cannot become a Joyful Nation. Until then, Indians cannot really help African Poor.

The key problem area which I have identified in motivating Oppressed Classes to vote for Leftist Parties, is Poor People have

1. no time. Their entire day's time is spent on eking out their livelihood.

2. no money. Their entire earnings are spent on basic needs.

3. Running political parties and contesting elections involves huge expenditures.

4. Organisation of Public Meetings and Rallies are beyond the means of the Poor.

5. Indian poor are extremely indebted. For various needs such as medical expenses, funerals, weddings, education fees, etc., they are under great pressure to borrow.

6. Indian poor have become slaves of "expensive habits" such as smoking, alcohol, First-day Cinema viewing, downloads of audios and videos. (If rich people become slaves of bad habits, and throw away their bucks, it is irrelevant for the purpose of the cause of the Poor). When the Election day comes, they get pressures from money lenders to repay their loans. Facing insults from money lenders, the Voters find "selling vote" as the only solution for their problem. The top priority is to push the monstrous "money lenders" at least for some days.

All these problems cannot be solved through University Student Unions, and raising slogans.

Afzal Guru, Yakoub Momen, Maqbool Bhat etc. cannot be our top priorities.

Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar tried to compare the "Soldiers laying down their lives, while defending this country", with "farmer suicides". These two are "uncomparables". Both are top Priority Areas, of equal priority. Bourgeoisie Parties raise these issues, depending on their Vote-Bank Needs. For example, if Mr. Modi goes to Vidarbha, and if Congress is in Power in Maharashtra, he will raise the issue of Farmer Suicides. Rahul Gandhi will visit a BJP State and shout about Farmer Suicides. CPI to which Mr. Kumar belongs, and CPM are also not exceptions.

In his speeches, in certain respects, Mr. Kumar has similarities with Mr. Aravind Kejriwal. People of India, the Voters of Delhi, Mr. Anna Hazare, Mr. Prashant Bhushan, Mr. Yogendra Yadav et al. have already learnt some lessons from Mr. Kejriwal.

It is likely, that Mr. Kumar may also go the way of Mr. Kejriwal.

Question: What is your final suggestion?

Ans: The plate of Mr. Kumar will be full, next two years, attending courts, Police Stations, making speeches, addressing Media persons.

It will be better, if Mr. Kumar finds time, and makes some effort to complete his Ph.D. in African Studies. In future, he may not get this opportunity.

As long as Ms. Irani is the HRD Minister, it is unlikely that she will stop her efforts to saffronise Govt. Universities. Besides, all the Governments in India, of all Parties, are hell bent upon privatising Higher Education. As far as I can recollect, Mr. Sujana Choudary, once asked Indian Universities to find their own resources, and not to expect funds from GOI.

Hence, it is unlikely that Mr. Kumar will get employment in Indian Universities, not to speak of Foreign Universities.

First, Mr. Kumar has to find dependable part-time employment for himself. Remaining time, he can devote for upgrading the Indian Poor Voters.

I have not myself studied in any Day-College full-time, not to speak of studying in prestigious Universities like JNU. My acquiring four degrees and four diplomas, with one All-India top rank, one University level Gold Medal, every course was done in Evening Colleges or through Distance Education Courses. Studies help us to acquire skills. Some of the about 97 subjects I tried to study, a few of them have really helped me in getting a reasonably correct understanding of the problems of Indian Poor, apart from real life personal experiences in Poverty. Of course, time was also wasted on some useless subjects such as Micro Economic Theory, Demand Curves etc (I do not believe in the Western Economic Theories).

The days of Public Sector Employment in Educational Sector, seem to be nearing their fag end.

The Paradox is, the Poor themselves are not interested in studying their own problems. They want immediate solutions, without their own active participation. They want Cash.

TAIL PIECE धूम केतु తోక చుక్క

The use of "SatyamEva jayatE" both by Mr. Narendra Modi and by Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar are just slogans. SatyamEva jayatE literal meaning for the benefit of non-Indian Readers: Truth alone Triumphs.

As far as World History (which includes Indian History) goes, there is no proof of Truth alone succeeding over "untruth". Sometimes, "truth" succeeds. Sometimes "untruths" succeed. It is not even ALTERNATING or CYCLICAL or ROTATIONAL like seasons. Colonialism, Slave Trade, World Financial Markets, Law Courts, why pin point this, or that !

A winner will always give the slogan "satyamEva jayatE", showing his two fingers in "V" angle of Victory, even if all his actions are nothing but bogus ! Losers will throw the blame on something else, and renew their efforts, whether they are really fighting for "Truth" or not. Hence "SatyamE JayatE" has become a cliche and jargon owing to overuse.

Packing is more important today, than the contents of the package, intrinsic value(s) of the contents. Attractively packed, even untruths can circulate as TRUTHS (satyam), and can get acceptability for the maxim "satyamEva jayatE".

The maxim that some people may be cheated at some places, on some occasions, and that people cannot be cheated all the times at all places, may not ALWAYS APPLY, at least in short and medium term. In long run, truth may, sometimes, emerge victorious. In Telugu, we have a proverb: "nijam nilakaDa mIda telustundi నిజం నిలకడ మీద తెలుస్తుంది.". Approx. English: Truth will be known, over a stable period of time. (We cannot know the truth in a hurry. Sometimes, we have to wait).

But, in long run, we shall all be dead. For example, Robert Clive did the greatest crimes in India in the 18th Century, on behalf of the East India Company. He gifted copiously (to) the British Royalty of his period. They were also made happy. But, will U.K. accept the truth, and refund all the treasures robbed and sent to England, by Clive? Same thing applies to Wellesly, Dalhousie. Then, where is the SatyamEva jayatE, even in long run?
