964 PRIME MINISTER'S DREAM OF PERSON WEARING HAVAI CHAPPALS, BOARDING AIRCRAFT CAN AND WILL NEVER HAPPEN, EXCEPT AS LONG AS THE EUPHORIA EXISTS

Respected Narendra Modi, the 2014-17+ Prime Minister of India has made some wishful thinking, us presuming that he is sincere in what he said, -- "Air travel is now not just for the rich, I want air travel to be for all. ... My dream was to see a person who wears a hawai chappal (slippers) to fly on the hawai jahaaz (aircraft)...". But, this inaugurated lofty ideal will not last long. Reasons are given below. There are no solutions for this problem. The People of India are not ready for common-place air travel. Only Elite who can PAY HEAVILY ALONE have the comforts/luxuries of Air Travel. Mr. Narendra Modi is trying to place the cart before the horses. I am sad that he does not know our priorities. About his observation / wish that a hawai chappal wearing person (somebody less than even the common man) should be able to board an aircraft, one thing we cannot forget: A person who acquires a capability to purchase air ticket and enplane will shift to wearing shoes, coats, and other expensive clothing and footwear. Let us take the case of Mr. Narendra Modi himself. According to the stories available on internet, till he was anointed as the Chief Minister of Gujarat, he did not have independent source of income, as he was not pursuing any occupation or doing a job, howsoever small it may be, to purchase even havai chappals. After becoming Chief Minister of Gujarat in 2001, he might have started wearing expensive shoes, designer haute coutre (his kurtas are custom made), Bylagri spectacles, Movado Watch, Monte Blanc Pens. He not only started to wear bulletproof cars, but also to send them on aircraft to wherever he goes.

This ybrao-a-donkey is completing 67 years age. Though I have worked as a Bank Officer, I have never boarded an aircraft. When I worked in remote villages of Telangana of 1983, I heard people calling it 'meen mOTor' (Telugu: 'meen' = minnu, sky. Motor = car). Very rarely, hardly 3 or 4 in an year, aircraft go on the sky-space over their (and also my) heads. There is no need for them or me a Bank Manager at that time to travel by air. I am not writing this to boast. I am writing this not for boasting, but set the history straight.

AIR TRAVEL SHOULD BE 'NEED BASED' AND NOT 'CAPACITY TO PAY BASIS'

A depraved and an impoverished Nation like India cannot have 'Promotion of Air Travel as a goal or an objective'. India is a geographically very expansive country, and densely populated country. Consequently, we find that most long distance trains are congested and crowded. Travelling long distances with an unreserved general ticket can be as challenging as climbing Mount Everest. Hence, India cannot do without Air Travel. Yet, India may not need Air Travel for pilgrimages, site-seeing, attending unproductive seminars, conferences and meetings.

Mr. Modi and Mr. Rajnath Singh claim great affinity and love to the Members of our Defence, BSF, CRPF, Police and other paramilitary forces. Why can't they provide free / substantially concessional air travel to long distance travellers of these forces?

A native of Kerala or Tamil Nadu working in Kashmir or Gorakhpur or Guwahati when he-she visits his native place has to undergo a hazardous train travel. On official duties also, they will be moving from one extreme edge to another extreme edge of the country through trains. During these train journies, sometimes, squabbles and squirmish-es take place resulting in military misbehaviors or public misbehaviors, resulting in loss of mutual respect between the country's defenders and the country's constituents. Why can't the Government of India treat all these journeys as 'persons with havai chappals stepping into an aircraft'? Why can't Government of India allow / request Air India to run sufficient number of flights to our Forces, and why can't the Govt. of India reimburse Air India with all these fares. This will save Air India from its impending sale to some Tom, Dick and Harry. It will also raise the morale of all our Defence, Security and Police Forces.

PRIVATE AIRLINES COMPETE WITH ONE ANOTHER IN PROVIDING JOY JOURNEYS, HONEY MOON TRIPS TO SINGAPORE, MALAYSIA, EUROPE

Can India really afford outward tourism? India is an expansive country with with divergent geographical terrains, wonders of nature and scenery, flora, fauna, cultures, local histories, to explore which a life of 100 years will not be enough. The key question here is when India is undergoing through a severe balance of trade adversity, balance of payments imbalances, why should Indians go abroad as tourists? First, we should explore our own country, and exhaust all our places, and -- venture overseas only when there is nothing indigenous is left out.

It will be disturbing to note that Indian Film Producers and Directors have reached a situation where they can't shoot even a single film song or scene at Indian locations, or in Indian Streets. Why every song is shot in London or Singapore or New York Streets. Shootings abroad can be completely banned to reduce cost of production of Indian Films.

Cut-throat competition by Private Airlines

Private Airlines with their cut-throat methods kill one another. Simultaneously, they will also suffocate and kill Air India. KingFisher Airlines serves as the best example of this adventurism. Yet, we cannot totally avoid Private Sector. If Private Industrialists, film stars, cricketers, etc. have so much money to shower on Private Airlines, let them do.

Government Deparments, Corporates, Companies, Public Sector Banks, etc.can patronize Air-India, apart from the Defence Forces. Under no circumstances, there should be no patronage with Budget Funds and Public Sector Funds to the Private Airlines.

709 India is a pluralist country. While BJP can pray gold-jewelled silk clad Bharat Mata, Kanhaiya & Co. can hail their own version of Bharat Mata. दो विभिन्न भारत माता साध्य है। రెండు భిన్నమైన భరతమాతలు సాధ్యమే.

Now, that Mr. Mohan Bhagavat, the Elderlyman of R.S.S. has clarified that they are not going impose the utterance of "Bharat Mata ki jai" as a token of nationalism or patriotism, the time has, probably come for us to treat the matter as closed, and start something else afresh. Let us hope that Mr. Mohan Bhagawat will not change his stance after the Elections to the State Assemblies of Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Assam, Kerala, Bengal are over.

Mr. Kanhaiah Kumar, the ecstatic-stance possessed JNU student leader, while speaking at Vijayawada, has raised one important pertinent question. The Bharat Mata of the Ruling Party is dressed in silk sarees and bejewelled with gold ornaments, whereas the 'typical Bharat Mata' as a representative of Indian Womanhood is a half-starved, wearing torn clothes, hard-working woman, beset by her hungry children beseeching her for food.

About this Kanhaiyakumar's Bharat Mata, there seems to be one article by the noted journalist Shri Akar Patel. Unfortunately, I could not get it and read it. I shall shortly fulfil this need.

Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar has come to Hyderabad by air. Who bore his air-fare? Corporates will not bear. Of course, we should be fortunate, that though his mother's monthly income is just Rs. 3,000/-, he has not yet started using CHARTERED AIRCRAFT. When he becomes some Chief Minister or Prime Minister will he wear expensive coats?

Mr. Narayana, our CPI National Executive Member from Telangana, seems to be too eager to fly piggyback on Mr. Kanhaiya Kumar's back. He wrote one Telugu article in second top Telugu Daily Andhra Jyothi dt. 29.3.2016, indicating that he takes pride in supporting Kanhaiaya (kannayyaku maddatuku garva paDutunnAnu). Mr. Narayana, like Kanhaiya Kumar, seems to be a person in a hurry.
