639 Article of Shri Borra Govardhan about Vaidika Marxism.

In my post No. Click to go to 634 , we have taken note of the article titled "AmbedkarisTula bhramalu (The illusions of Ambedkarists" penned by renowned Telugu Author (Muppalla) Ranganayakamma. Link to her Article in AndhraJyothy.com, is available in that post. Some of the issues raised by her are worth discussing. Before we could discuss some of them, one Shri Borra Govardhan has written a critic of that article "AmbEdkarisTula bhramalu" , published in AndhraJyothy.com , dated 30th Dec. 2015. Here is the link to Andhrajyothy.com containing the article of Shri Govardhan. Title of the article: "Vaidika Marxism వైదిక మార్క్సిజమ్". Click to go to the article of Shri Borra Govardhan.

We have to wait till some more people write about Late Ambedkar, Ranganayakamma, the Illusions of Ambedkarists, the Vaidika Marxism. Shri Govardhan defined the Vaidika Marxism in one straight forward sentence. In Telugu: "mEmu ceppindE vEdam, naDicindE mArgam, mEm tappanTE tappE, oppanTE oppE. This is the primary characteristic of the Vedic ideas. ". English gist: "Whatever we say is Veda. Whatever path we tread is the (true) Path. If we say that something is wrong, then it is wrong. If we say that something is right, it is right only.

I do not wish to particularly point out at Ms. Ranganayakamma. It appears that most people who swear by or who are committed to some principles (including ybrao-a-donkey), be it Marxism or something else, seem to have this trait of trying to dictating terms to others. This problem of intolerance to criticism (immaterial whether the criticism is justified or not justified), seem to prevail even in Top Leaders of CPI and CPM. It is not exactly the type of authoritarianism which is conspicuous in bourgeoisie parties like Congress and BJP.

Lack of internal democracy in Bourgeoisie Parties like Congress and BJP is understandable. How can we explain the lack of internal democracy in CPI and CPM which are based in Theories?

While I am typing this review, I heard on the All India Radio News, about the passing away of CPI Former General Secretary Shri A.P. Bardhan. CPI and CPM seems to be losing all their aged leaders and Party Workers, while replenishments are NOT TAKING PLACE. This may lead to extinction of Communist Movement in India. Let us hope that it is not going to happen.

1. The issue of the miserable State of the Untouchable Classes in British India, is an internal issue of the Indian Nationals. The participants in the three Round Table Conferences which were held in London between 1931-1932 argued their sectoral cases, instead of arguing on behalf of India as a Nation. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was no exception. While the British chose to enslave us with DIVIDE AND RULE rool, we fell a victim to that.

2. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar seems to have thought that separate Constituencies for Dalits will bring them liberation. Now, of course a hind sight, History of Independent India 1947-2015, shows that in spite of Electoral reservations, Reservations in Educational Institutions, Reservations in Govt. Jobs, the Scheduled Castes did not progress much. Reservations were just like Amritanjan or Zandu Balm, whereas India suffered from a major malady.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar seems to have forgotten to take a serious note of the fact that bulk of the productive assets of India, in 1947 or in 2015 are not owned by Dalits or Scheduled Tribes or Backward Classes. In every village, town, City, they are controlled by few families. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, being the Chief Drafter of the Indian Constitution, ought to have drafted for
a) Removal of Private Property all types of rights, and inheritance.
b) Treating every Indian as a Government Employee, with equality.
c) Removal of Currency System, role of money
d) Removal of marriage and family system. Free women from care of off-springs. Society to raise children once they attain an age of 5 years.
e) Common Civil code irrespective of castes and religions. Close prayer houses, prayer assemblies.
f) Removal of kitchens in individual homes. Guaranteed Free Supply of food packets to living quarters to every citizens.
g) Guaranteed living quarters to all Indians, with no right of sale, gifting, inheritance.
h) All needs of citizens such as food, clothing, shelter, health care, education, everything free and provided by the Society (State).
i) Automatic care of aged persons by State.
j) Free citizens from the risks of farming, trade, industry, and businesses. All risks are borne by the State.
k) Ban on private cars. Any gadget which the Western Society invents and introduces in its Consumerist markets, Socialist India will provide to all Socialist Citizens FREE OF COST. Upgradation from one paradigm to another paradigm should take place only after lower level needs of all the citizens are met by the State. Example: Only after State provides Two wheelers to all the Citizens, the question of making cars will have to be taken up. Till then, all the Citizens have to be stopped at the level of Public Transport or at the level of Two wheelers.

Dr. Ambedkar, probably might not have thought of COMPLETE SOCIALISM + DEMOCRACY AS A SOLUTION FOR the Untouchables of INDIA, if not for 100% of Citizens of India.

The above are only some examples. More can be added.

634 Part 1 of Ranganayakamma's criticism against Ambedkar's philosophy

The Marxist Author Ranganayakamma is a person about whom we must think about at least a few minutes, like Late Survaram Pratapa Reddy. Her method of thinking, is worth analysing and emulating at least to some extent, if not wholly. Her commitment and loyalty to Marxism, is not possible to others. It is not my intention to praise her endlessly and leave it there. For example, her Article titled "Ambedkarists' Illusions" published in No. 2 Telugu Daily Andhra Jyothy is worth studying by every INdian, not to speak of every Telugu person. I intend to translate it into English and post here, together with my frank views. I do not know when that ambition will be accomplished.

ybrao-a-donkey's humble comments. You have every right to differ with me. I respect your right. However, pl. examine this donkey's views also.

One important problem with the articles of Ranganayakamma is they have very high standard, on a theoretical plane. It is very difficult for ordinary people to comprehend the gist. Lot of effort is necessary to understand the content, arguments. Our people are accustomed to audio-visual Cinema Stuff on TV channels. Our people have lost their ability to read SERIOUS texts even in our own Mother Tongue Telugu language. This is a very very sad state of affairs. Then we cannot expect Ranganayakamma gAru to come down to our levels.

Great Great courage will be required to required TODAY to criticise Late Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Even if the criticism is genuine, owing to Vote Bank Politics somebody or other some class of people will immediately come up with complaints, objections or slogans, without caring to examine what the author wanted to convey. Consequently, the whole issue will be sidetracked. Hence, my special appreciation is to Ranganayakamma gAru, for her risk-taking venture.

I shall try to discuss some of the points raised by her in about 10 posts at this blog, mostly from practical point of view.

Now, I shall write some real-life observations from my life, which are relevant to Marxism (what I call Equalism, to guard against confusion with today's misplaced Communism in countries like China).

What I want to say is "Srama dOpiDi" (Robbing of Labor through Exploitation of Labor by Employer. I shall simplify the term Srama dOpiDi for the benefit of those who are not conversant with it: It is based on the Theory of Value by Karl Marx. In simple terms: If a laborer adds a value of Rs. 100 to a product which he-she contributes by his-her labor, and the employer pays him only Rs. 40 as wage, which may be a market wage based on demand for labor and supply of labor), a Srama dOpiDi of Rs. 60 takes place. The Rs. 60 is used by the Capitalist Employer at his whims and fancies. --This ybrao-a-donkey calls principal or main Shrama dOpiDi (A mode of Exploitation of Labor).

Everyday I go to a Tea stall for tea and tiffins. My monthly bill to them is about Rs 3,000/-. A part of it is paid by the TeaStall owner to his workers. I interviewed, as a sample two workers, to find how they use their earnings.

To my great distress I got the following replies:

One person: I get Rs. 240/- as my wage everyday. Every month I go to some movies. Often, I purchase tickets at high prices. For example, I saw bAhubali, buying a ticket of Rs. 270/-.

ybrao-a-donkey works up in his mind: The last time I saw a Telugu film in a Theatre was somewhere in 1987, a film Titled "dhriva nakshatram", in which Venkatesh acted as hero. It was at a Theatre named "Swati" in Bhavanipuram Area of Vijayawada. I rarely see films even on TV, because of domination of advertisements. Besides with meagre pension I can't afford to see films.

ybrao-a-donkey, to the Tea-stall worker: "You get a daily-wage of Rs. 240/-, and you have purchased Bahubali ticket for Rs. 270/-."

The worker might have thought that I was arrogant through my remark. He said: "What is wrong. There are people who purchased bAhubali tickets for Rs. 500/- and saw it well ahead of me. What wrong did I commit?"

ybrao-a-donkey: "They may be some corrupt Govt. employees or some blackmarketing merchants. Ordinary people will not buy."

The Tea Stall worker: "You are mistaken. He pointed out his index finger at another tea-stall worker. It is he who purchased bAhubali Ticket for Rs. 500/-."

Then ybrao-a-donkey goes to that other worker and inquires from him whether the inforamtion is correct, out of sheer inquisitiveness.

The Second worker: "Yes. What is wrong in that! They have produced the film spending crores of Rupees for making the film."

ybrao-a-donkey got stupefied.

516 Part 1: Better ways of commemorating and honoring Dr. B.R. Ambedkar

Context: B.J.P. Government has allocated Rs. 197 crore for building a B.R. Ambedkar International Centre, at 15 Janpath, New Delhi, and Rs. 99 crore for his memorial. News reports indicate that Union Cabinet has approved the Project.

Occasion: 125th Birth Anniversary of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. A tableau of Dr. Ambedkar is also planned to be presented during the Republic Day Parade on 26.1.2015. GoI also plans to sponsor 100 students to University of Columbia and London School of Economic, where Dr. Ambedkar studied.

Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Vice President, Congress is said to be visiting Mhow, birth place of Dr. Ambedkar, to kick of his party's nation-wide celebrations.

I can't say whether it is good or bad for BJP and Congress to compete with one another to pay homage to Dr. Ambedkar.

Both the parties have also started throwing rubbish against one another. Example, Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment Thawar Chand Gehlot is reported to have said:
'...Rahul Gandhi and his party never honoured Ambedkar. Neither he neither got Bharat Ratna nor was his oil painting installed in Parliament premises as long Congress was in power. If today somebody is going there (Mhow), I want to ask why did he not do it for so many years? ...'

Spending Rs. 1.97 billion on an International Centre, Rs. 1 billion on Memorial apparently do not benefit people much. It may be true that GoI has already spent hundreds of billions on memorials of Nehru dynasty. That was a blunder. Two mistakes do not make a "right thing".

At some point or other we may have to stop spending billions on memorials. Else, in future we may have to spend thousands of crores on Vajpayee Memorial, Sonia Gandhi Memorial, Narendra Modi Memorial, Mulayam Singh Yadav Memorial, Lalu Prasad Yadav Memorial, Jayalalithaa Memorial ... ... (endless list).

We have to find out ways and means of combining commemoration and practical benefits to people.   We can't say by raising memorial buildings, tourism industry can be developed.   Cost-benefit-analysis-wise, that may be good for Colonial Empires of Europe and North America, but not for a resource-starved Nation like India.

Question प्रश्न ప్రశ్న: Can you suggest something?

Answer जवाब జవాబు: This is one way. I do not want to impose on my readers. We can name Itarsi Station as Ambedkar Junction.

GoI can establish an Ambedkar Memorial Trust, controlled by Govt., and release the allocated Rs 3 billion. This trust can purchase some rail engines and sufficient number of rail bogies to run 2 pairs of Ambedkar Memorial Express Trains.

1. From Por Bandar to Gauhati-Itanagar (East to West, via Ambedkar Junction.)
2. From Srinagar to Kanyakumari (North to South, via Ambedkar Junction.)

In typical Indian style, an Arti can be performed to Dr. Ambedkar, at Ambedkar Junction Station, when these trains stop at Ambedkar Junction for about 20/30 minutes. One or two quotes of Dr. Ambedkar can be announced on PAS for benefit of passengers.

The profits made from the two pairs of Ambedkar Express trains can be shared at agreed rates between Indian Railways and Ambedkar Trust.  Separate higher  fares can be fixed for these two special trains, so that Ambedkar Trust does not incur loss.

Everybody knows that Railways are unable to introduce new trains owing to paucity of funds. India today is 1.25 billions. India is shortly going to become No. 1 in population in the world, a dubious distinction.

There are hundreds of railway stations in India, which are craving for new trains. Memorial funds can be used to promote new trains. Railways will get new partners and new investments.
