639 Article of Shri Borra Govardhan about Vaidika Marxism.

In my post No. Click to go to 634 , we have taken note of the article titled "AmbedkarisTula bhramalu (The illusions of Ambedkarists" penned by renowned Telugu Author (Muppalla) Ranganayakamma. Link to her Article in AndhraJyothy.com, is available in that post. Some of the issues raised by her are worth discussing. Before we could discuss some of them, one Shri Borra Govardhan has written a critic of that article "AmbEdkarisTula bhramalu" , published in AndhraJyothy.com , dated 30th Dec. 2015. Here is the link to Andhrajyothy.com containing the article of Shri Govardhan. Title of the article: "Vaidika Marxism వైదిక మార్క్సిజమ్". Click to go to the article of Shri Borra Govardhan.

We have to wait till some more people write about Late Ambedkar, Ranganayakamma, the Illusions of Ambedkarists, the Vaidika Marxism. Shri Govardhan defined the Vaidika Marxism in one straight forward sentence. In Telugu: "mEmu ceppindE vEdam, naDicindE mArgam, mEm tappanTE tappE, oppanTE oppE. This is the primary characteristic of the Vedic ideas. ". English gist: "Whatever we say is Veda. Whatever path we tread is the (true) Path. If we say that something is wrong, then it is wrong. If we say that something is right, it is right only.

I do not wish to particularly point out at Ms. Ranganayakamma. It appears that most people who swear by or who are committed to some principles (including ybrao-a-donkey), be it Marxism or something else, seem to have this trait of trying to dictating terms to others. This problem of intolerance to criticism (immaterial whether the criticism is justified or not justified), seem to prevail even in Top Leaders of CPI and CPM. It is not exactly the type of authoritarianism which is conspicuous in bourgeoisie parties like Congress and BJP.

Lack of internal democracy in Bourgeoisie Parties like Congress and BJP is understandable. How can we explain the lack of internal democracy in CPI and CPM which are based in Theories?

While I am typing this review, I heard on the All India Radio News, about the passing away of CPI Former General Secretary Shri A.P. Bardhan. CPI and CPM seems to be losing all their aged leaders and Party Workers, while replenishments are NOT TAKING PLACE. This may lead to extinction of Communist Movement in India. Let us hope that it is not going to happen.

1. The issue of the miserable State of the Untouchable Classes in British India, is an internal issue of the Indian Nationals. The participants in the three Round Table Conferences which were held in London between 1931-1932 argued their sectoral cases, instead of arguing on behalf of India as a Nation. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar was no exception. While the British chose to enslave us with DIVIDE AND RULE rool, we fell a victim to that.

2. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar seems to have thought that separate Constituencies for Dalits will bring them liberation. Now, of course a hind sight, History of Independent India 1947-2015, shows that in spite of Electoral reservations, Reservations in Educational Institutions, Reservations in Govt. Jobs, the Scheduled Castes did not progress much. Reservations were just like Amritanjan or Zandu Balm, whereas India suffered from a major malady.

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar seems to have forgotten to take a serious note of the fact that bulk of the productive assets of India, in 1947 or in 2015 are not owned by Dalits or Scheduled Tribes or Backward Classes. In every village, town, City, they are controlled by few families. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, being the Chief Drafter of the Indian Constitution, ought to have drafted for
a) Removal of Private Property all types of rights, and inheritance.
b) Treating every Indian as a Government Employee, with equality.
c) Removal of Currency System, role of money
d) Removal of marriage and family system. Free women from care of off-springs. Society to raise children once they attain an age of 5 years.
e) Common Civil code irrespective of castes and religions. Close prayer houses, prayer assemblies.
f) Removal of kitchens in individual homes. Guaranteed Free Supply of food packets to living quarters to every citizens.
g) Guaranteed living quarters to all Indians, with no right of sale, gifting, inheritance.
h) All needs of citizens such as food, clothing, shelter, health care, education, everything free and provided by the Society (State).
i) Automatic care of aged persons by State.
j) Free citizens from the risks of farming, trade, industry, and businesses. All risks are borne by the State.
k) Ban on private cars. Any gadget which the Western Society invents and introduces in its Consumerist markets, Socialist India will provide to all Socialist Citizens FREE OF COST. Upgradation from one paradigm to another paradigm should take place only after lower level needs of all the citizens are met by the State. Example: Only after State provides Two wheelers to all the Citizens, the question of making cars will have to be taken up. Till then, all the Citizens have to be stopped at the level of Public Transport or at the level of Two wheelers.

Dr. Ambedkar, probably might not have thought of COMPLETE SOCIALISM + DEMOCRACY AS A SOLUTION FOR the Untouchables of INDIA, if not for 100% of Citizens of India.

The above are only some examples. More can be added.

638 Part 3 of Ayuta Chandi Yagam. Why didn't the God persons guide KCR properly?

Why didn't the Priests, Swamijis (ochre-robed monks), Pravachana Saraswatis and Anvaya Saraswatis (Goddesses of Learning in Discourses and Interpretations) tell the Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao (KCR) that it will be futile to perform Ayutha Chandi Yagam spending Rs. 120 million, 4000 kg. of clarified butter, 12000 kg. of rice boiled in milk and sugar? Why didn't they tell him that it would be suffice even if a leaf / flower / fruit / a spoon (called uddhariNe in Telugu) of water to immensely please Lord VishNu?
In India's National Language Hindi:
In Yb's mother tongue Telugu:

Ans: It is because, they have an interest in the SHARES OF THE SPOILS. They get paid well for their services, they get some gold offerings, free silk clothes, etc. etc.

One happy ending, in the final fire that reduced the sacrificial cottage to ashes, nobody lost their lives. Of course, President of India might have been disappointed for not being able to pray to the sacrificial fires.

637 Hyderabadis who visited Ayuta Chandi Yagam are fortunate

Continuation of Post No. 633 (at the end, called TAILPIECE धूमकेतु తోకచుక్క) wherein I have referred to the Ayuta Chandi Yagam performed by Mr. K. Chandra sekhara Rao, the Chief Minister of Telangana. Click to go to post 633 .

In that post itself, I wanted to point out that the Thatched Cottage for the Sacrifice of Ayuta Chandi Yagam, was appearing vulnerable to EASY COMBUSTION and that it was looking like a lAkshA griha (House of shell LAC in which legendary Pandavas of Mahabharata were kept in Varanasi, by Duryodhana, with a view to burn them alive in a fire).

One Telugu proverb at that time prevented me from cautioning about the dangers involved. The Telugu proverb reads as: "Subham palukarA mankenna anTE, peLLi kUturu munDa EkkaDa caccindi annADaTa". English gist: A person named Mankenna present at a wedding was asked to say something auspicious on the august happy occasion. The Mankenna said: "Where did the Widowed Bride die? Explanation: This Mankenna was instead of telling something auspicious, was predicting to unhappy things: 1. BRIDE become a widow. 2. Bride's death. Traditionally, in India, people are prevented from predicting unhappy things IRRESPECTIVE OF WHETHER TRUE OR NOT.

Fortunately, the organisers of the Sacrifice have kept four Fire Engines ready to meet contingencies. President of India who arrived in his divya ratham (helicopter) from the Sky could not had to return without seeing the fete.

Suppose had the fire occurred on the first or second day during peak hours when the largest number of people were under the thatched roofs? Of course, lessons from Godavari Pushkara deaths might have taught people to react fast. They might have come out of the thatched cottages without panicking and undergoing stampedes.

Better preventive techniques ought to have been: Making ceilings with fire-proof or fire-resistant materials. Using RCC pillars (posts) or at least metalic posts and horizontal tubes for construction would have reduced risks.

TAILPIECE धूमकेतु తోకచుక్క THOUGH Mr. Chandra Sekhara Rao is saying that he has spent his own personal money for the Sacrifice (about Rs. 120 million), it is difficult to believe. An independent inquiry will have to be ordered by the Central Government or by an appropriate Court to verify whether all the donations have been duly accounted for, whether there are going to be any quid-pro-quos (Govt. favors for large donations in return). There is also a need to check whether expenses have been inflated.

If GOI or some Court do not act now, at least in 2019, when a new Govt. is elected, some other party comes into power in Telangana (may be unlikely), we have to hope that they will order an inquiry.

According to reports, everyday 4000 kg. of clarified butter (ghee), and 12,000 kgs. of boiled rice in milk&sugar have been poured into the fires. One observation: During the period, for some days, even Sangam Ghee Packets were not supplied in Guntur. They resumed supply just before the Christmas Day. Though technically only cow ghee is used in sacrifices, it is not clear why buffalo ghee packets also disappeared in the market.

636 PART 1 OF TALE OF TWO CITIES

Guntur City is reeling under water shortage today. Though situated on the banks of the River Krishna, Vijayawada City (ONLY FOOLS will think that there is no water shortage in Vijayawada విజయవాడ నగరంలో నీటి కొరత లేదని కేవలం మూర్ఖులు మాత్రమే అనుకుంటారు.) too suffers from drinking water shortages in its outskirts. In many Apartment Complexes borewells have dried down, and the residents are experiencing shortage of water even for bathing and toilets. The influx of migrants from all the seventeen Districts of Residual Andhra Pradesh, (earlier the migrants used to flock to Hyderabad City) are now flooding Vijayawada and Guntur Cities.

Migrants from North Andhra Pradesh from Srikakulam to Krishna Districts try to settle down in Vijayawada. Migrants from Royala Seema and South Circar Districts try to settle down in Guntur City. Mangalagiri will become another migration point in near future. The cumulative effect of all these settlements is going to be drinking water shortage, and drying up of borewells for toilet waters. Govt. and Municipal Corporations can always taken an excuse, pointing out at this year's low rainfall, drought conditions, and drying up of Srisailam and Nagarjuna Sagar Reservoirs. That excuse is only partly true.

Predicting that water levels of Prakasam Barrage will fall so drastically, that drinking water will not flow with gravitation into Guntur Channel is not difficult. Arranging for pumping of water from Krishna River using Electric Motors should have been planned in advance, apart from getting additional drinking water released from Nagarjuna Sagar. Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu now camps on the Southern Bank of the Krishna River. Yet he did not bother to caution the officials and guide them to fix the motors well in advance. He cannot bother because he is too busy with Japan, China, Singapore, Chambers of Commerce, Bauxite Mining, and what not.

In reality, KRISHNA RIVER can be compared to Colarado River in United States, in the sense that every drop of water in these rivers are used up so fully that there will only be mud and swamps left out. Consequently, as a tail-end Region Krishna-Guntur Area is going to suffer from great thirst. One additional factor which has assumed serious dimension is, now Krishna Guntur Region is going to be dependent on the mercy of KCR & Co. even for drinking water. Krishna River Water Distribution Authority can only pass orders. But the execution is to be done by the Engineers of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. If the Engineers of Telangana do not co-operate, the Engineers from Andhra side cannot fight quarrel everyday.

The problem gets exacerbated because both KCR and CBN are cunning, secretive and vindictive persons. They howl at one another on one day and embrace one another on some other day. Now that, there is a bon homie between K Chandra Sekhara Rao and CB Naidu, Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu may not seriously press KCR for release of drinking water to downstream villages and towns.

Predicting all these problems last year itself even before Capital of Andhra Pradesh was decided, I suggested in my numerous blog posts that, the new Capital of Residual Andhra Pradesh should be located at Nagarjuna Sagar South Bank, popularly called South Vijayapuri and its upstream Launch Boarding point to Nandi konda. If A.P. Capital is built on this barren land (free, forest waste land with thorny bushes and snake pits, with not much agriculture taking place), A.P. Capital could have drawn its drinking water from Nagarjuna Sagar Reservoir. Central Government would have easily permitted some 30 tmcs water to be drawn from Nagarjuna Sagar Reservoir upstream without depending on the Irrigation Canals or Power Generation Channels.

Today, for the existing population itself, Krishna River water is not adequate even for drinking needs of the two Cities. The Great Claimer of being a Great Builder Chandra Babu has projected that A.P. Capital City will have a population of 15 million (1.5 crore). If he is unable to supply drinking water for a population of about 1.5 million in Vijayavada and 1 million in Guntur, how is he going to arrange for drinking water for 15 million ? Of course he may not continue after 2019 ! Yet, whoever will be at helm of AP Capital, be it Lokesh or Jagan or Pawan Kalyan or Congress or Kiran Kumar's Party, are going to face a Herculean Problem. Wisdom lies in forecasting the forebodings, and initiate corrective action, meeting the risks half-way in advance. It is the dIrghadarSi method of living suggested in Indian Epic Mahabharata.

Even now, it is not too late. Better to shift the Capital of Andhra Pradesh to Upstream of South Vijayapuri and install pumps for drawing drinking water from Nagarjuna SAgar Reservoir for the requirements of AP's Capital. As there is no shortage of waste land in that area southwards upto Donakonda, Eastwards upto Macharla, Govt. can get rid of all the Headaches of Land Pooling for Capital. Straightaway, the Govt. can return all the LPS lands to the respective farmers and just apologise to them, for whatever has happened.

If Mr. Nara Chandra Babu Naidu is secretly indebted to Chinese / Japanese / Singaporean / South Korean / ... Corporates, he can still ask them to compete for building a Capital at Nagarjuna Sagar. Of course, all of them will shy away, because they want to induct the Citizens of Vijayawada - Guntur - Tenali into Gambling Dens and Licensed Prostitution Houses they are going to build, with liberal freehold and lease lands from Govt. of Andhra Pradesh. If they want to go back, they can be allowed to go back. We can then build our own Capital with indigenous resources.

From what Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu tells everyday and what he does regularly, we have to infer that he is hell-bent on and hopeful of getting some dirty money from Singapore. It seems he want to build another Makav in India. It will be better, if people try to gauge his goals.

According to News Reports, one Gold Merchant in Visakhapatnam is paying Rs. 150 million (Rs. 15 crore) for a one day advertisement shooting, to their brand ambassador, film star Ms. Rakul Preet Singh. Are the Gold Merchants of Vizag fools? Or are the gold buyers of Visakhapatnam fools? Why does gold need a certification by a film star? This is a Mad Mad Mad World Indeed! Polling might have been completed in Telangana State for electing MLCs from the Local Bodies Constituencies. Of course, as everybody knows, there are strong indications of TRS sweeping the results.

What is to be wondered is: the predicament of the CPI Central Committee Member, Shri K. Narayana. Expecting support from TRS and Mr. K. Chandra Sekhara Rao, in the post new State Formation Scenario, Mr. Narayana and his party obsessively participated in the Telangana Movement, forgetting that CPI is NOT ONLY A NATIONAL PARTY, but ALSO A PARTY OF WORKERS AND SOCIALISM. CPI's wish of a new State has been fulfilled. CPI also expected great electoral gains from the People of Telangana, apart from the TRS Party. But nothing of that sort happened. CPI and Mr. Narayana's hopes have been dashed. Now, according to news reports, Mr. Narayana has started blaming TRS for not supporting CPI.

What is the lesson from this? nishkAma karma sEyarA nAyanA ! (Oh man! Work without expecting fruits. This is the lesson of Bhagavad Gita).

Another more ugly thing observed in this CPI MLC Contest Episode:
The Party selected, for its Khammam Constituency, the owner of a Medical College, as an MLC Candidate. That might have been done on the hope that a Medical College owner will be able to buy voters by distributing wads of notes. In spite of that CPI may lose.

CPI is supposed to be , at least theoretically, a Party of Workers. Not a bourgeoisie party. Then it should have contested with a Worker Candidate, irrespective of winning or losing. Can't CPI find at least one worker to contest, though he-she may be incapable of buying votes?

Earlier, CPI's name appeared in the list of Receptors of Donations from Liquor Contractors in Khammam District. That investigation has been pending for a long time, as Congress Party bosses are also involved in the Liquor Donations Scam. But with that experience, Left Parties should have stopped taking donations from Liquor Contractors. Did they? Probably not.

CPI and CPM should have contested all the seats for which elections are being held. (I always hold an irresistable opinion that Left Parties should contest only for LOK SABHA AND RAJYA SABHA. Reason: The type of reforms which are to be brought about , such as Removal of Private Property, Removal of Monetary System, Removal of Marriage System, Treating every Indian Citizen as a Govt. Employee, Guaranteed FREE food, clothing, shelter, old age security, education, health, rest and recuperation , transport, to every citizen, are possible only if Left Parties get an absolute clear majority in both Houses. There will not be much use in coming to power at State or Municipal or Local Administration Levels. ). But yet, if the Left Parties want to contest State Level, Local level elections, they should invariably contest all the seats, nominating WORKER CANDIDATES everywhere. They may not be able to buy votes like the bourgeoisie candidates. Yet, they will make a beginning in developing contacts with People. Losing deposits will only be an initial temporary phase. There should also be competition among / between all the Left Parties, so that people can have a choice among the Worker Candidates. By entering into electoral arrangements, this choice is going to get restricted. Consequently, the voters will have no alternative except to elect other bourgeoisie candidates.

634 Part 1 of Ranganayakamma's criticism against Ambedkar's philosophy

The Marxist Author Ranganayakamma is a person about whom we must think about at least a few minutes, like Late Survaram Pratapa Reddy. Her method of thinking, is worth analysing and emulating at least to some extent, if not wholly. Her commitment and loyalty to Marxism, is not possible to others. It is not my intention to praise her endlessly and leave it there. For example, her Article titled "Ambedkarists' Illusions" published in No. 2 Telugu Daily Andhra Jyothy is worth studying by every INdian, not to speak of every Telugu person. I intend to translate it into English and post here, together with my frank views. I do not know when that ambition will be accomplished.

One important problem with the articles of Ranganayakamma is they have very high standard, on a theoretical plane. It is very difficult for ordinary people to comprehend the gist. Lot of effort is necessary to understand the content, arguments. Our people are accustomed to audio-visual Cinema Stuff on TV channels. Our people have lost their ability to read SERIOUS texts even in our own Mother Tongue Telugu language. This is a very very sad state of affairs. Then we cannot expect Ranganayakamma gAru to come down to our levels.

Great Great courage will be required to required TODAY to criticise Late Baba Saheb Ambedkar. Even if the criticism is genuine, owing to Vote Bank Politics somebody or other some class of people will immediately come up with complaints, objections or slogans, without caring to examine what the author wanted to convey. Consequently, the whole issue will be sidetracked. Hence, my special appreciation is to Ranganayakamma gAru, for her risk-taking venture.

I shall try to discuss some of the points raised by her in about 10 posts at this blog, mostly from practical point of view.

Now, I shall write some real-life observations from my life, which are relevant to Marxism (what I call Equalism, to guard against confusion with today's misplaced Communism in countries like China).

What I want to say is "Srama dOpiDi" (Robbing of Labor through Exploitation of Labor by Employer. I shall simplify the term Srama dOpiDi for the benefit of those who are not conversant with it: It is based on the Theory of Value by Karl Marx. In simple terms: If a laborer adds a value of Rs. 100 to a product which he-she contributes by his-her labor, and the employer pays him only Rs. 40 as wage, which may be a market wage based on demand for labor and supply of labor), a Srama dOpiDi of Rs. 60 takes place. The Rs. 60 is used by the Capitalist Employer at his whims and fancies. --This ybrao-a-donkey calls principal or main Shrama dOpiDi (A mode of Exploitation of Labor).

Everyday I go to a Tea stall for tea and tiffins. My monthly bill to them is about Rs 3,000/-. A part of it is paid by the TeaStall owner to his workers. I interviewed, as a sample two workers, to find how they use their earnings.

To my great distress I got the following replies:

One person: I get Rs. 240/- as my wage everyday. Every month I go to some movies. Often, I purchase tickets at high prices. For example, I saw bAhubali, buying a ticket of Rs. 270/-.

ybrao-a-donkey works up in his mind: The last time I saw a Telugu film in a Theatre was somewhere in 1987, a film Titled "dhriva nakshatram", in which Venkatesh acted as hero. It was at a Theatre named "Swati" in Bhavanipuram Area of Vijayawada. I rarely see films even on TV, because of domination of advertisements. Besides with meagre pension I can't afford to see films.

ybrao-a-donkey, to the Tea-stall worker: "You get a daily-wage of Rs. 240/-, and you have purchased Bahubali ticket for Rs. 270/-."

The worker might have thought that I was arrogant through my remark. He said: "What is wrong. There are people who purchased bAhubali tickets for Rs. 500/- and saw it well ahead of me. What wrong did I commit?"

ybrao-a-donkey: "They may be some corrupt Govt. employees or some blackmarketing merchants. Ordinary people will not buy."

The Tea Stall worker: "You are mistaken. He pointed out his index finger at another tea-stall worker. It is he who purchased bAhubali Ticket for Rs. 500/-."

Then ybrao-a-donkey goes to that other worker and inquires from him whether the inforamtion is correct, out of sheer inquisitiveness.

The Second worker: "Yes. What is wrong in that! They have produced the film spending crores of Rupees for making the film."

ybrao-a-donkey got stupefied.

633 Goddess of Interpretations and Lion of Lecturers has to study Valmiki Ramayana in greater depth.

We have in Telugu Language, Great Anvaya Saraswatis (A title declaring a person as Goddess of Learning of Interpretation and Application). There are Lions of Lecturers in Arsha Dharma (Lions of Lecturers on Ancient Culture and Religion of India- Arsha DharmOpanyAsa kEsaris.). Since they get lot of opportunities on Temple Platforms and TV Channels to lecture to people who do not care to deeply study our scriptures, whatever they say is treated as sacro-sanct, because spectators clap for whatever the preacher say, since the preachers say what the spectators want.

Recently, I had an occasion to watch on a TV Devotional Channel, a discourse on Valmiki Ramayana. The GODDESS OF INTERRETATION & LION OF LECTURERS was explaining how a King has to rule his subjects. The usual stuff of every body should do the duties imposed by their caste i.e. a Brahmin should do penance, A Kshatriya should fight, A Vysya should do agriculture or business, A Sudra should serve the upper castes, Brahmins should be worshipped at all costs etc. etc. Without losing an opportunity, the Goddess-Lecturer also threw a jibe against the Reservation System of Governments in Govt. Jobs.

I am writing this blog post because the Saraswati-Lion unnecessarily threw stones against fact-seekers (satyanveshakas).

There is ample evidence to infer that Aryans who migrated to India from North Europe, do not follow the practice of Idol Worship. This is probably because there was no idol worship in their Mother Land North Europe-- Norway, Sweden (Scandinavia), Denmark and Holland (North Sea Countries), Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Old Prussia, Germany, Sudovia etc. Fire is very important for them because of Cold Climate. Houses in those countries must have fire places or in modern days Room Heaters etc. etc. Then they had to burn animals in fires for cooking their food. All this resulted in their worshipping the Indo-European Proto type God Vishn, by sending worship-food to him through Fire God, throwing animals, and animal cutpieces into sacrificial fires.

When Aryans entered into India they found that in India, there existed a culture of idol worship and there were temples. There was also a culture of non-violence against plants and animals. The Migrant North Europeans, and the Phallus-worshipping South Europeans might have been surprised with the sculptures and temples existing in India.

The Early Indians, who were mostly forest dwellers, farmers and shpherds, did not like the Aryan methods of worship of "Yagnas" and "YAgams", throwing animals into fires and sending them to Yagna nArAyana. (Early Indians may be early Jains. This I have already covered in my previous blog posts).

As Vishn was the main God of Aryans (about Indra, Rudra etc. I shall write separately), the principal scriptures of Aryans i.e. Valmiki Ramayan, Vyasa MAHABHARATA, Vyasa Mahabhagavata centred around Lord VishNu. Though Mahabharata Drona Parva has some verses in praise of Shiva (also called mahAdEva)(these may be later period insertions), basically all the three Scriptures have by and large either ignored or tried to belittle everything non-VishNu. There were no references to Temples, except one or two verses here and there.

What our Goddess of-Learning-Lion caught hold of in Valmiki Ramayana, to throw rubbish at those who say that Aryan methods of worship did not centre around idol worship, that they were only Fire Worshippers, and that there were no Temples during the three Scripture period of Valmiki Ramayana, Vyasa Maha Bharata, and Vyasa Mahabhagavata, was Chapter 100 of Volume of Ayodhya (Ayodhya Kanda, Sarga 100). Occasion: The Lion was discoursing on VAlmiki Ramayana on the TV Channel to innocent viewers.

The problems which the Temple preachers and TV discoursers face in exploring and spreading truths are

1. they are not free citizens. Their sponsors control them financially.

2. Conflict of interest is involved.

3. Spectators expect only "praises" for scriptures.

Hence I do not blame them personally. My grievance is that they are becoming instruments and tools in the hands of fanatics and obscurantists, to withhold truths from people. In the process, the expectation from them that they have to awaken the masses, suffers rude jolts.

Our Goddess of Intepretation -aka- Lion of Lecturersr was interpreting Chapter 100 of Valmiki Ramayana, in that particular TV Episode. While there is already ample evidence that Aryans were not idol worshippers, our Lion wanted to argue that there were temples in Ramayana's Ayodhya. Though he has not quoted the particular verse which said that there were "deva-sthAns (Places for Gods)", he said that Valmiki Ramayana itself mentioned that there were temples in Ayodhya.

For the benefit of our readers I reproduced below the relevant text:

Our Goddess-of-Learning&Lion seem to be referring to the undernoted verses
Valmiki Ramayana Book 2, Chapter 100, Verse 43.

English Script
kachchit chaitya Satair jrishtaha sunivishta jana Akulaha
dEva sthAnaih prapAbhih cha taTAkaih cha upaSObhitaha.

Telugu script:

That's-all , he has come to a conclusion, that there were temples with idols and deities. The deva-sthAns (places for Gods) could just have been platforms beside the sacrificial fires, where Gods are supposed to dwell without any idols. This type of vacant platforms and pulpits we see in prayerhouses of all religions Semitic Religions, European Religions, South East Asian Religions, Chinese Religions, Japanese Religions, even if they shun idol-worship. Deities, Statues, Idols of metal, wood, stone exist in Temples which permit such edifices, such as Buddhism, Jainism, Hinduism. In other words, there is NO COMPULSION THAT IDOLS / DEITIES SHOULD HAVE BEEN INSTALLED THERE.

Our Goddess of Interpretation -aka- Lion of Lecturers forgot about the entire set of possibilities and probabilities of prayer-places-without idols and jumped into a hasty conclusion that there were idol-deity installed temples in vAlmiki rAmayana.

He also forgot to observe that out of the 76 verses in Chapter 100 of Ayodhya Kanda, at least 11-76 verses are either later-period-insertions by Priests and Preachers over the Centuries, or at least out of Context with the Text. Reason for Insertions: Enforce four-caste System (CAtur varNa vyavastha) and make Sudras Servants of Top Two castes Brahmanas and Kshatiyas. This is the common thread of all the European-manufactured Scriptures to a great extent VaishNavaite, and to a lesser extent Shaivite.

What was the Context of Chapter 100 in the Volume of Ayodhya ? Shrirama, Lakshmana and Sita went into Forest Exile. Just 3 or 4 days elapsed. Sita Rama Lakshmanas were in Chitrakoot.

Bharata yet did n't taken over reigns of Ayodhya with Rama's footwear (pAdukalu). Bharata and Satrughna returned from their paternal Uncle & Grandfather's place. Bharata was asked to take over the kingdom. He didn't like it. With his three mothers, Guru Vasishta, citizens, he came to Chitra koot to persuade Rama to return back to Ayodhya.

The first ten verses: Shri Rama enquired from Bharata about well-being of their father Dasaratha.

Then starts the 66 verse long preaching session. Gist: How a king should rule his subjects, how Brahmins should be respected, how the people of four castes should follow and perform their allotted duties. Bharata didn't ask for them. Unasked by Dasaratha from the sky, or Vasistha from his seat, Shri Rama was asking for a Performance Report from Bharata, though he didn't yet get an opportunity to rule. Unasked, Shri Rama was also giving him a lecture on how to rule, without first waiting to hear to Bharata, about the well-being of their father. This lecturing could have been postponed, till Bharata revealed his main news (death of Dasaratha). The Priests who inserted the lecture in later Centuries forgot about the need for this proprietry and aptness. But they didn't apparently bother.

We can find one such Complex / Compound of sacrificial pyres (homa Gundas) and deva-sthans (Places for Gods), we can find in Valmiki Ramayana itself. Book of Forests (Aranya kAnDa i.e. Rama's exile to Forests). Chapter No. VALMIKI RAMAYANA 3-12-17, 3-12-18, 3-12-19, 3-12-20 BOOK OF FOREST ARANY`A KAAND`A CONTEXT: Rama is in the forest. After about 12 years there, he visits the hermitage of the sage Agastya. Before finally reaching the altar for sacrifices, he sees temples (sacred places -sanctus)for 17 Gods.

List of the Gods in Agastya Ashram, which Rama visited in Aranya kAnDA: 1. Brahma (Creator)
2. Fire
3. Vishn`u
4. Indra
5. Sun (Vivasvata)
6. Moon (SOma= moon. Eg. SOma SEkhar=One who protected Moon.)
7. Bhaga (One of the Adityas. Similar to the Sun. Dispenser of fortune)
8. Lord of North and Riches (Kubera)
9. Dhaata
10 Vidhaata (Created by Brahma to help the first human Prajapati
11. Wind God (Vaayu)
12. Rain God (Varun`a who wields a noose)
13. Gaayatri (Female Goddess of Gnosis)
14. Serpant God (Adi S`eesha)(Vishn`u sleeps on Seesha)
15. Kite God (Garud`a - Vishn`u's vehicle)
16. Commander of Gods (Kaartikeeya, the second son of S`iva)
17. God of Death (Yama Dharma Raja or simply Yama or Dharma).

From the above list, it can be seen that there is no place Lord Shiva. We can also see that there is no place for the God "Ganapati (vinAyaka)" the First Son of Lord Shiva. Serial No. 16 above kArtikEya though is in general considered as Shiva's second son, ybrao-a-donkey considers that, at least as far as Valmiki Ramayana is concerned, kArtikEya is apparently LESS SHAIVITE. Strangely, there is no place for all the three principal Goddesses Saraswati, Mahalakshmi and Parvati (or Adi Shakti). Gayatri alone is the Female Goddess in the list. She is considered as a rival for Saraswati, seeking Creator Brahma's love.

Some readers may have an impression that "bhaga" , S.No. 7 in the above list, may be Shiva. But the word bhaga seems to be more linked to "Prosperity or bhAgyam".

Sanskrit bhaga (IAST: bhaga) is a term for "lord, patron", but also for "wealth, prosperity". The cognate term in Avestan and Old Persian is baga, of uncertain meaning but used in a sense in which "lord, patron, sharer/distributor of good fortune" might also apply. The cognate in Slavic languages is the root bogъ. The semantics is similar to English lord (from hlaford "bread-warden"), the idea being that it is part of the function of a chieftain or leader to distribute riches or spoils among his followers. The name of the city of Baghdad derives from Middle Persian baga-data, "lord-given".

Link for those who to read in more detail about Bhaga. Click to go to Wikipedia.org/wiki/bhaga.

ybrao-a-donkey says: The reference to Avesta (Zend Avesta of Zorashtrianism of Iran) and Old Persian (Persia was an old name for Iran), suggests that Aryans have migrated to India, through Iran also, apart from, through Central Asia.

ybrao-a-donkey adds: These verses 3-12-17 to 3-12-20 which describe the list of Gods in Sage Agastya's Hermitage may also be an insertion of a later period. Another observation which can be made, there is no mention of existence of any idols or deities, or their descriptions. It can be noted by careful readers of Valmiki Ramayana, that Valmiki is a great describer. If there were idols / deities of wood/stone/mud/metal, he would definitely have described at least some of them.

Question: How can you say that Great Sage Valmiki was a great describer?

Answer: Valmiki Ramayana abounds in a wealth of descriptions and depictions of sun, moon, moonlight, stars, water and rivers, mountains, sunrises, sunsets, and what not? In verse No. 5-29-4, Valmiki described Sita's thigh as comparable to an Elephant's head.

If metal / mud / stone / wood idol worship existed as temple deities in those days, Valmiki would not definitely have omitted to describe them at least once in the 24,000 verses.

WHY VALMIKI OMITTED DESCRIBING TEMPLES IN CHAPTER 25 OF BOOK 1 (BALA KANDA, SARGA 5)

Entire Chapter 5 with 23 verses, of Bala Kanda describes Ayodhya City. None of the 23 verses describe temples of Ayodhya. This particular verse 23 says that Priests, Vedic Scholars maintained Ritual Fires. There is no mention about their worshipping idols /deities. According to Vaishnava worship methods, Lord VishNu is an "alankAra priya" (Liker of Decorations). Then the Priests must also have been spending some time on decorating the idols /deities of Lord Vishnu and Mahalakshmi. In the entire Valmikia Ramayana, Valmiki does not describe any such idol / deity decorations, pushpa yAgams (flower sacrifices which Tiruchanuru Temple celebrated one recently), or some Swing Service ie. placing Lord's idols on swings like cradles (Unjal Seva)(which Tirumala Temple celebrates everyday). It is not that Valmiki avoids vivid descriptions of visuals.

WHY VALMIKI WHO DESCRIBED DASARATHA'S ASVAMETHA YAGNA (HORSE SACRIFICE) IN SUCH DETAIL, OMITTED TO MENTION ABOUT OBEISANCES TO DEITIES / IDOLS?

Chapter 8 of Book 1 Bala Kanda described the Asvametha Sacrifice in length, including how Kausalya stabbed the sacrificial horse, and how Dasaratha inhaled the smoke of burning horse fat. But none of the 25 verses make any mention of temples in the City.

TAILPIECE धूमकेतु తోకచుక్క

TELANGANA CHIEF MINISTER Shri K. Chandra Sekhara Rao (popularly known as KCR) is celebrating an great Sacrifice called "Ayuta Chandi yAga" in which around a thousand priests are participating. What is to be found there? Only Sacrificial pyres or fires in which lot of cow's ghee (clarified butter), corn, wheat etc. are poured (in ancient times animal meats such as horse's meat used to be thrown). No idols / deities can be found. In the 21st Century yagnas / yagas (sacrifices) animal sacrifices are avoided. Recitations of magic chants continue. On the Compound Walls (as seen on TV Channels), there is a Swastik Symbol apart from Om symbol. Swastik is a Symbol of Germany, Larvia, Lithuania and Old Prussian culture. Hitler laid a claim for the Swastik Symbol. Of course Buddhism and Jainism also lay a claim for Swastik. For example in Amaravati Museum, on one Buddhist stone sculpture, we can see Swastik Mark.

Shri KCR is reported to be spending about Rs. 120 million (12 crore) personal money for that. He is reported to earn from his farm land (in which there is a farm-house) Rs. 10 million per annum in the form of harvests. Our Lord Shri Rama in Valmiki Ramayana performed a hundred horse sacrifices and several other sacrifices, honored priests with great gifts etc. Now our modern Rama i.e. KCR is also a great sacrifice-performer and great honorer of Priests with great gifts. Who says that history does not repeat? History repeats!

President of India Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, Governor of Tamil Nadu, Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Union Urban Development Minister Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, everybody will be visiting the Ayuta Chandi Yagam and smelling the fumes from the sacrificial fires. Rooms have been specially built for them.

Messrs. KCR and Nara Chandra Babu Naidu (Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh State) may not speak out. In the inner Chamber of their minds, they may be GREAT SUPPORTERS OF CASTE SYSTEM with all the hierarchial dominations and suppressions. All the key portfolios will be controlled by those who belong to the same caste as KCR and Chandra Babu Naidu! Dynastic Successions you can see! Rama gave a part of MP to Lakshmana's sons. Rama gave another part of MP, Chattisgadh and Orissa to Satrughna's sons. Rama helped Bharata and Yudhajit/Asvapati to conquer Kandahar (Afghanisthan) with great bloodshed. Bharata's sons were made Kings there. Rama's sons Kusa and Lava were anointed in Ayodhya to succeed Rama. Now, in Telangana, who will be anointed? KTR ? Harish RAo ? Kavita? In Residual Andhra Pradesh who will be anointed? Lokesh? Balakrishna ? Wait and see. What will happen in 2019?

Swami Dayananda Saraswati founded Arya Samaj, a Reform Movement in India. Their main methods of worship consist of sacrificial fires in which clarified butter and herbs are used as offerings. Idol /deity worship is rare.
