816 GLOBAL BOASTING/BRAGGING - INDIAN BOASTING/BRAGGING

Here is a beautiful article from IndiaTimes.Com, Sunday Times Print Edition dated 9th October 2016, special supplement. Title of the article: "WE ARE BRAGGARTS", penned by Ms. Nona Walia. Though the article, initially refers to Donald Trump's braggings, ultimately it landed on Indians. True, Self-criticism is always better than criticizing others. For the benefit of my readers, I furnish here, a link to the TOI article: Click to go to http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/life-style/relationships/love-sex/We-are-braggarts/articleshow/54714951.cms But, yet, there is a Telugu proverb which is worth quoting: "urumu urimi mangalamu mIda paDDaTlu!". Approx. English gist: As though, the thunder thundered, and fell on the stove. (In those days, in India, people sometimes, used to cook in open places. Mangalam is a sort of open kiln often used for sotting corn / jowar grains / rice to make them popped / popcorn or make roasted bengal gram lentils.) Anyway, thunders, and thunderbolts are mainly phenomena of sky. When a thunder thunders, and its bolt falls on a kiln on the earth, a sort of unexpected calamity / disaster may take place.

Here the analogy which 'ybrao-a-donkey' is trying to make is: Trump's boasts and brags, have not only thundered in American skies, but also landed on Indian Brags.

We shall see some precious quotes from this TOI article:

SEMANTICS OF BRAGGING

Braggadocious
Braggadocio is not only to brag but brag about something that’s not true
Humblebrag
The Oxford English Dictionary added the word recently and defines it as “an ostensibly modest or self-deprecating statement whose actual purpose is to draw attention to something of which one is proud”
Underbrag
The New Humblebrag who doesn’t care what anyone thinks, so he brags about his own disaster or a situation that’s not brag-worthy.
Facebrag
The art of boasting on social media and telling everyone how great you are

At the end of the article, there is a quote from a psychologist, Ms. Bhawna Monga:-

Bragging is the new feel-good factor. You brag to feel good about your life on an every day basis, because other people’s lives are staring at you from your phones and laptops, and they all look super ‘cool’ — Bhawna Monga, psychologist

ybrao-a-donkey's humble comments. You have every right to differ with me. I respect your right. However, pl. examine this donkey's views also.

There may also be a factor of compulsive need of release of 'dopamine' in our brains. This 'dopamine' chemistry, we shall takeup on some other day.

While it is true that Indians brag/boast profusely, we can't say that Euro-Americans, Australians, Canadians, et al, lag behind? aho! bata! ayyo!

The dividing line between 'boasting-bragging' and self-revealing/self-mirroring/self-reporting is very thin. Like 'beauty is skin-deep', the seer's/listeners perceptions of the degree/extent of other person's boast/brags may depend on 'beholder's eye'. It is a question of interpretation. There is a Telugu proverb: 'tana kampu tanaku impu. Para kampu tananu campu'. Approx. English: One's own odor/scent pleases the person. But the odors/scents of others may kill the opposite-man.

SOME GEM QUOTES OF SWAMI VIVEKANANDA

We shall see some golden gems of Swami Vivekananda, the Great Philosophical Ambassador and Nation-Lifter of India:

Swami Vivekananda wrote to Ms. Albert Sturges from his ship on Dec. 5, 1895:
"...In your country, Alberta, the Vedantic thought was introduced in the beginning by ignorant "cranks", and one has to work his way through the difficulties created by such introductions ..."

Swami Vivekananda wrote to Shri Pramada Das Mitra, on May 30, 1897 from Almora.
"... Ramanuja, Shankara etc., seem to have been mere Pundits with much narrowness of heart. Where is that love, that weeping heart at the sorrow of others? — Dry pedantry of the Pundit — and the feeling of only oneself getting to salvation hurry-scurry! ..."

Swamiji wrote to Brahmananda (Rakhal) from Reading, England, in 1895.
"...These are countries of gigantic scholars. Is it a joke to make disciples of such people? You are but children and talk like children. ...".

Here, apparent meaning: I made those gigantic scholars as my disciples. It is not a joke.

Swami Vivekananda wrote to Mr. Pramad das Mishra from Ghazipur on March 3, 1890:
"... What are you saying about difficulties there of keeping clean? Lack of water in the hills or lack of room!! Tirthas (places of pilgrimage) and Sannyasins of the Kali-Yuga — you know what they are. Spend money and the owners of temples will fling away the installed god to make room for you; so no anxiety about a resting-place! ..."

Swami Vivekananda wrote to Alasinga from Chicago, U.S.A. on 2nd Nov. 1893:--

"... I addressed the assembly as "Sisters and Brothers of America", a deafening applause of two minutes followed, and then I proceeded; and when it was finished, I sat down, almost exhausted with emotion. The next day all the papers announced that my speech was the hit of the day, and I became known to the whole of America. Truly has it been said by the great commentator Shridhara — "मूकं करोति वाचालं — Who maketh the dumb a fluent speaker." His name be praised! From that day I became a celebrity, and the day I read my paper on Hinduism, the hall was packed as it had never been before. I quote to you from one of the papers: "Ladies, ladies, ladies packing every place — filling every corner, they patiently waited and waited while the papers that separated them from Vivekananda were read", etc. You would be astonished if I sent over to you the newspaper cuttings, but you already know that I am a hater of celebrity. Suffice it to say, that whenever I went on the platform, a deafening applause would be raised for me. Nearly all the papers paid high tributes to me, and even the most bigoted had to admit that "This man with his handsome face and magnetic presence and wonderful oratory is the most prominent figure in the Parliament", etc., etc. Sufficient for you to know that never before did an Oriental make such an impression on American society. ..."

CONTEXT IN VALMIKI RAMAYANA & ENGLISH GIST: Demon Ravana abducted the wife of Shri Rama, and hid her in his Kingdom Lanka. The vAnara Chief (According to the Epic, vAnarAs are monkeys. Converting forest-dwellers into monkeys, may be an aberration), Hanuman traced her. Shri Rama, Sugriva, and their vAnara forces went on an expedition to reach Lanka, crossing the an Ocean, 100 yOjanas wide (approx. 1500 km.). Shri Rama and his forces were camping on the Sea Coast, awaiting for the Sea God to give them way. Shri Rama spent there three days spreading sacred grass (darbha grass) on the sea shore, and lying down on it, with folded hands, in due respect to the Sea God. But , the Sea God did not respond. Then, Shri Rama seems to have got annoyed by the silence of the Sea God. The above verse is one of the verses spoken by Shri Rama to his brother Lakshmana, referring to the arrogance of the Sea God.

"...The arrogant (avalEpam) Sea God is not appearing himself before me. Calmness (praSamam), forbearance (kshama), straightforwardness (Arjavam), softspokenness (priya vAditA) of gentle persons will yield ineffective and inefficient (asAmarthyam) results (phalanti).

790 Do women really have choices? This question need not be restricted only to Indian Women. It is a global question.

Trigger for this blogpost: A writeup titled "Matter of Choice" in the Tabloid Edition of Deccan Chronicle dated 13th July 2016. Link, for those who wish to have a look at it: Click to go to http://www.deccanchronicle.com/lifestyle/books-and-art/130716/matter-of-choice.html. . The author of the write-up is: Ms. Namita Gupta. It is a review of the book titled: THE GIRL WHO CHOSE: A NEW WAY OF NARRATING THE RAMAYANA. Author of the book is: Devdutt Pattanaik. pp.112. Price Rs. 199/-.

In my mother-tongue Telugu language, there is a proverb: "ravi gAncanicO, kavi gAncu neyyeDan". Approx. English equivalent: If SUN God cannot see, wherever it is, everywhere, 'kavi' will see. The 20th and 21st Century meaning of the Hindi and Telugu (some other Indic languages) word 'kavi' seems to gaining a restricted meaning of a 'poet or a writer'. The word kavi has a very wide meaning, apart from the meaning of 'poet / writer'. For example, kavi=a medical doctor. In North Indian States, an ayurvedic medical degree used to be given titled 'kavi rAj' or 'kavi rAja'. The 'kavi' of India is not only a poet, writer, scholar, medical doctor, but also, he is a versatile genius. He is like the Great American Scholar, depicted by Ralph Waldo Emerson, in his famous speech of August 1837. For those who wish to compare the contrast 'kavi' and the 'The American Scholar' can download a pdf version of the speech at the following link: Click to go to

Trigger for this blogpost:

For the time being we shall take the meaning of 'writer' only. What a poet or writer can see, what Sun God cannot see, when his rays penetrate throughout the Earth and the Universe? A kavi's intellect goes far beyond the penetrative capabilities of even the SUN. If any of our readers is interested to read an anecdotal story which some people associate with Legendary Sanskrit Poet Kalidasa, and some others associate it with Buddhist Jataka Tales. The story is somewhat an exaggeration of intellectual capabilities of a 'kavi'. But the story has some content for intellectual reinvigoration. The story also highlights a moral, linked to gratitude and ungratefulness. In some other blog post we shall discuss this story, as this particular blog post is becoming too lengthy to read.

Back to our write-up by Ms. Namita Gupta in Deccan Chronicle, about the book of Shri Devadutt Pattanaik, priced Rs. 199, with pages 112.

We shall start with a quote from the review:

The book highlights how women have always had choices. Even if they did not exercise any, it was a choice they made. The story told keeping in view Sita as a focal character gives a refreshing perspective, one which we have never been told earlier. When asked about what was the idea behind retelling the Ramayana, the author states, “I realised during a workshop that Sita makes five choices in the Valmiki Ramayana and that she never blames anyone for the consequences of her action. I found this very modern. I wondered why no one had highlighted it before. We are too conditioned to see Sita as a whimpering victim and that needed questioning.” It also brings forth a fundamental truth — every choice made has its consequence too.

"...Choice is not easy in any society — modern or pre-modern. It has consequences. Not all good. Dealing with it is always tough. Sita’s life serves as a good guide to be at peace with whatever life throws at us. Mythology has always intrigued me and what I like about it is that it reveals how humans think. We think no differently from people who lived hundreds of years ago. ..."

I have not purchased the book THE GIRL WHO CHOSE: A NEW WAY OF NARRATING THE RAMAYANA. Nor read it.

As a person, who has studied Valmiki Ramayana (Sanskrit version), in depth, I am writing this. For those wish to study my reviews (ybrao-a-donkey's reviews), here is the link: Click to go to ybrao-a-donkey's study-reviews on Valmiki Ramayana, with proof verses from Valmiki Ramayan itself.

ONE STRAIGHT QUESTION: What choices did Sita have?

To know the reply for this crucial question, I request my readers to study my blog post No.044 at my blog ramayanayb.blogspot.com. Click to go to ramayanayb post No. 044.

There, you will see what choice was given to our Sita, by the God Sri Ramachandra? Here is a quote from the Valmiki Ramayan, which I have discussed in the above blogpost 044.

CONTEXT
Rama killed the Ravana. Vibhishana brought Sita into Rama's presence. Rama says these words, seeing Sita.

gist
Oh secure lady! I am declaring this today, with a determined mind. Set your mind on Lakshmana or Bharata as is comfortable to you.

Alternatively, set your mind, as per your convenience, on S`atrughna, Sugriva or Vibhishana.

I greatly respect the freedom of expression of Shri Devdutt Pattanaik and Ms. Namita Gupta. But, I only request them to read Valmiki Ramayana Sanskrit version in depth. They can also read my ramayanayb blog, if they wish to.

21ST CENTURY INDIA SCENE, DATE: 14TH JULY 2016, PLACE CHILLAKALLU, ON NATIONAL HIGHWAY NO. 9 (HYDERABAD-VIJAYAVADA).

Click to go to http://www.deccanchronicle.com/nation/crime/150716/andhra-pradesh-husband-tries-to-make-wife-hold-hot-rod.html

Now, here is a husband who suspects his wife's chastity, and wants her to prove her purity by touching a burning iron ron used for digging pits, called gaDDa pAra in Telugu. The heads of their Caste also do some "DU DU basavanna" (Like an ornamental bullock, well trained to say yes for everything the master utters). She is also ready to touch the burning rod.

Fortunately, the Trainee Sub Inspector of Police, Jaggaiahpet, like a villain entered into our modern Ramayana, and stopped the ordeal. My cudos to him.

Now, our Devdutt Pattanaik sAb is realistic at least in one respect: History repeats. We Indians think in the same manner even after Centuries. See the quote of Pattanaikji, from above review: Mythology has always intrigued me and what I like about it is that it reveals how humans think. We think no differently from people who lived hundreds of years ago. ..."

ybrao-a-donkey's humble comments. You have every right to differ with me. I respect your right. However, pl. examine this donkey's views also.

Question: Do you mean to say that there are no "AtmA"s?

Ans: In my donkey's humble view: Body itself is the soul of itself, which includes, body's mind, intellect, ego, mental disposition. Atma Samyama yOga means control of body, and the associated senses of thought, vision, smell, taste, touch, hearing.

An adult person aged about 34 years, making his brother also aged about 34 years, to sit on his lap, how far appropriate? Then with the person on his lap, can he give a lecture with 76 verses on how to govern a country?

Valmiki Ramayana, Book 2, The Happenings in AyOdhya, Chapter 100, Verse 3.

AyOdhya KAnDa, Sarga 100, Verse 3.

AghrAya rAmaH tam mUrdhni

parya prichchat samAhitaH |

English Gist, with context in the Epic Valmiki Ramayana: Rama, Lakshmana, and Sita, left Ayodhya to forest on exile. They camped at ChitrakUT. Bharata came to Ayodhya from his maternal Uncle's City, summoned by Sage VasishTha. Bharata was not willing to get coronated. He rebuked Kaikeyi. Then, taking all the three queens of daSaratha, Sage VasishTha, Ministers of the Kingdom, Army, he ventures into forests. Reaches the place where Sita Rama Lakshmanas were camping. Rama received Bharata with love.

Rama smelt the hair of Bharata (a gesture of fraternal love), customary in Ancient India. Took him into his embrace. Rama made Bharata to sit on his (Rama's) lap. Then he questions Bharata, for details.

What were the ages of Rama and Bharata at that time? With a few hours gap, both were of the same age.

As per Book 1, Chapter 20, Verse 2 Una shoDasha varshO me rAmO rAjIva lOcanaHa | na yuddha yogyatAm asya pashyAmi saha rAkshasaiHi || Rama was 16 years of age when Sage Visvamitra took him to forest and Mithila where Shri Rama broke Shiva's bow.

As per Book 1, Chapter 77, Verse 25, 1-77-25, rAmaH ca sItayaa sArdham vijahAra bahUn ritUn manasviI tad gatamAnasya tasyA hridi samarpitaHa | , after his marriage with Sita, Rama spent several years in AyOdhya, loving Sita.

As per Book 5 (Sundara Kanda), Chapter 33 , Verse 17 samA dvAdaSa tatra aham rAghavasya nivESane, bhunjanam nuyAn bhogAn sarva kAma samridhini | , Sita told Hanuman, that she lived in Rama's House with great comfort for twelve years.

As per Book 2 (Ayodhya Kanda), Chapter 20, Verse 45 i.e. 2-20-45, dasha sapta ca varShANi tava jAtasya rAghava | asitAni prakAnkShantyA mayA duhkha parikShayam. , Kausalya said to Rama that she had waited for 17 years after his upanayanam (thread ceremony), with a hope that he would redress her grave hardships in Ayodhya (presumably in the hands of KaikEyi). It is not clear when the thread ceremony of Shri Rama was performed. If we assume that his thread ceremony was performed at the age 8, then adding 17 years of Kausalya's waiting, Shri Rama will be 25, when he was asked to go on a forest exile.

I (ybrao-a-donkey) have read somewhere in Valmiki Ramayana itself, that Shri Rama functioned as Prince and assisted Dasaratha in administration for 17 years in Ayodhya. This verse, I am unable to trace now. I shall search again and quote.

Hence if we take 16 + 12, years, the age of Rama and Bharata when they met in ChitrakUt may be 28 years. If we accept the idea of 16 + 17 years, then their age may be 33 or 34.

The question of propriety which arises here is: Can a man of 25/28/34 years, make his brother aged 25/28/34 years sit on his lap?

633 Goddess of Interpretations and Lion of Lecturers has to study Valmiki Ramayana in greater depth.

We have in Telugu Language, Great Anvaya Saraswatis (A title declaring a person as Goddess of Learning of Interpretation and Application). There are Lions of Lecturers in Arsha Dharma (Lions of Lecturers on Ancient Culture and Religion of India- Arsha DharmOpanyAsa kEsaris.). Since they get lot of opportunities on Temple Platforms and TV Channels to lecture to people who do not care to deeply study our scriptures, whatever they say is treated as sacro-sanct, because spectators clap for whatever the preacher say, since the preachers say what the spectators want.

Recently, I had an occasion to watch on a TV Devotional Channel, a discourse on Valmiki Ramayana. The GODDESS OF INTERRETATION & LION OF LECTURERS was explaining how a King has to rule his subjects. The usual stuff of every body should do the duties imposed by their caste i.e. a Brahmin should do penance, A Kshatriya should fight, A Vysya should do agriculture or business, A Sudra should serve the upper castes, Brahmins should be worshipped at all costs etc. etc. Without losing an opportunity, the Goddess-Lecturer also threw a jibe against the Reservation System of Governments in Govt. Jobs.

I am writing this blog post because the Saraswati-Lion unnecessarily threw stones against fact-seekers (satyanveshakas).

There is ample evidence to infer that Aryans who migrated to India from North Europe, do not follow the practice of Idol Worship. This is probably because there was no idol worship in their Mother Land North Europe-- Norway, Sweden (Scandinavia), Denmark and Holland (North Sea Countries), Finland, Latvia, Lithuania, Old Prussia, Germany, Sudovia etc. Fire is very important for them because of Cold Climate. Houses in those countries must have fire places or in modern days Room Heaters etc. etc. Then they had to burn animals in fires for cooking their food. All this resulted in their worshipping the Indo-European Proto type God Vishn, by sending worship-food to him through Fire God, throwing animals, and animal cutpieces into sacrificial fires.

When Aryans entered into India they found that in India, there existed a culture of idol worship and there were temples. There was also a culture of non-violence against plants and animals. The Migrant North Europeans, and the Phallus-worshipping South Europeans might have been surprised with the sculptures and temples existing in India.

The Early Indians, who were mostly forest dwellers, farmers and shpherds, did not like the Aryan methods of worship of "Yagnas" and "YAgams", throwing animals into fires and sending them to Yagna nArAyana. (Early Indians may be early Jains. This I have already covered in my previous blog posts).

As Vishn was the main God of Aryans (about Indra, Rudra etc. I shall write separately), the principal scriptures of Aryans i.e. Valmiki Ramayan, Vyasa MAHABHARATA, Vyasa Mahabhagavata centred around Lord VishNu. Though Mahabharata Drona Parva has some verses in praise of Shiva (also called mahAdEva)(these may be later period insertions), basically all the three Scriptures have by and large either ignored or tried to belittle everything non-VishNu. There were no references to Temples, except one or two verses here and there.

What our Goddess of-Learning-Lion caught hold of in Valmiki Ramayana, to throw rubbish at those who say that Aryan methods of worship did not centre around idol worship, that they were only Fire Worshippers, and that there were no Temples during the three Scripture period of Valmiki Ramayana, Vyasa Maha Bharata, and Vyasa Mahabhagavata, was Chapter 100 of Volume of Ayodhya (Ayodhya Kanda, Sarga 100). Occasion: The Lion was discoursing on VAlmiki Ramayana on the TV Channel to innocent viewers.

The problems which the Temple preachers and TV discoursers face in exploring and spreading truths are

1. they are not free citizens. Their sponsors control them financially.

2. Conflict of interest is involved.

3. Spectators expect only "praises" for scriptures.

Hence I do not blame them personally. My grievance is that they are becoming instruments and tools in the hands of fanatics and obscurantists, to withhold truths from people. In the process, the expectation from them that they have to awaken the masses, suffers rude jolts.

Our Goddess of Intepretation -aka- Lion of Lecturersr was interpreting Chapter 100 of Valmiki Ramayana, in that particular TV Episode. While there is already ample evidence that Aryans were not idol worshippers, our Lion wanted to argue that there were temples in Ramayana's Ayodhya. Though he has not quoted the particular verse which said that there were "deva-sthAns (Places for Gods)", he said that Valmiki Ramayana itself mentioned that there were temples in Ayodhya.

For the benefit of our readers I reproduced below the relevant text:

Our Goddess-of-Learning&Lion seem to be referring to the undernoted verses
Valmiki Ramayana Book 2, Chapter 100, Verse 43.

English Script
kachchit chaitya Satair jrishtaha sunivishta jana Akulaha
dEva sthAnaih prapAbhih cha taTAkaih cha upaSObhitaha.

Telugu script:

That's-all , he has come to a conclusion, that there were temples with idols and deities. The deva-sthAns (places for Gods) could just have been platforms beside the sacrificial fires, where Gods are supposed to dwell without any idols. This type of vacant platforms and pulpits we see in prayerhouses of all religions Semitic Religions, European Religions, South East Asian Religions, Chinese Religions, Japanese Religions, even if they shun idol-worship. Deities, Statues, Idols of metal, wood, stone exist in Temples which permit such edifices, such as Buddhism, Jainism, Hinduism. In other words, there is NO COMPULSION THAT IDOLS / DEITIES SHOULD HAVE BEEN INSTALLED THERE.

Our Goddess of Interpretation -aka- Lion of Lecturers forgot about the entire set of possibilities and probabilities of prayer-places-without idols and jumped into a hasty conclusion that there were idol-deity installed temples in vAlmiki rAmayana.

He also forgot to observe that out of the 76 verses in Chapter 100 of Ayodhya Kanda, at least 11-76 verses are either later-period-insertions by Priests and Preachers over the Centuries, or at least out of Context with the Text. Reason for Insertions: Enforce four-caste System (CAtur varNa vyavastha) and make Sudras Servants of Top Two castes Brahmanas and Kshatiyas. This is the common thread of all the European-manufactured Scriptures to a great extent VaishNavaite, and to a lesser extent Shaivite.

What was the Context of Chapter 100 in the Volume of Ayodhya ? Shrirama, Lakshmana and Sita went into Forest Exile. Just 3 or 4 days elapsed. Sita Rama Lakshmanas were in Chitrakoot.

Bharata yet did n't taken over reigns of Ayodhya with Rama's footwear (pAdukalu). Bharata and Satrughna returned from their paternal Uncle & Grandfather's place. Bharata was asked to take over the kingdom. He didn't like it. With his three mothers, Guru Vasishta, citizens, he came to Chitra koot to persuade Rama to return back to Ayodhya.

The first ten verses: Shri Rama enquired from Bharata about well-being of their father Dasaratha.

Then starts the 66 verse long preaching session. Gist: How a king should rule his subjects, how Brahmins should be respected, how the people of four castes should follow and perform their allotted duties. Bharata didn't ask for them. Unasked by Dasaratha from the sky, or Vasistha from his seat, Shri Rama was asking for a Performance Report from Bharata, though he didn't yet get an opportunity to rule. Unasked, Shri Rama was also giving him a lecture on how to rule, without first waiting to hear to Bharata, about the well-being of their father. This lecturing could have been postponed, till Bharata revealed his main news (death of Dasaratha). The Priests who inserted the lecture in later Centuries forgot about the need for this proprietry and aptness. But they didn't apparently bother.

We can find one such Complex / Compound of sacrificial pyres (homa Gundas) and deva-sthans (Places for Gods), we can find in Valmiki Ramayana itself. Book of Forests (Aranya kAnDa i.e. Rama's exile to Forests). Chapter No. VALMIKI RAMAYANA 3-12-17, 3-12-18, 3-12-19, 3-12-20 BOOK OF FOREST ARANY`A KAAND`A CONTEXT: Rama is in the forest. After about 12 years there, he visits the hermitage of the sage Agastya. Before finally reaching the altar for sacrifices, he sees temples (sacred places -sanctus)for 17 Gods.

List of the Gods in Agastya Ashram, which Rama visited in Aranya kAnDA: 1. Brahma (Creator)
2. Fire
3. Vishn`u
4. Indra
5. Sun (Vivasvata)
6. Moon (SOma= moon. Eg. SOma SEkhar=One who protected Moon.)
7. Bhaga (One of the Adityas. Similar to the Sun. Dispenser of fortune)
8. Lord of North and Riches (Kubera)
9. Dhaata
10 Vidhaata (Created by Brahma to help the first human Prajapati
11. Wind God (Vaayu)
12. Rain God (Varun`a who wields a noose)
13. Gaayatri (Female Goddess of Gnosis)
14. Serpant God (Adi S`eesha)(Vishn`u sleeps on Seesha)
15. Kite God (Garud`a - Vishn`u's vehicle)
16. Commander of Gods (Kaartikeeya, the second son of S`iva)
17. God of Death (Yama Dharma Raja or simply Yama or Dharma).

From the above list, it can be seen that there is no place Lord Shiva. We can also see that there is no place for the God "Ganapati (vinAyaka)" the First Son of Lord Shiva. Serial No. 16 above kArtikEya though is in general considered as Shiva's second son, ybrao-a-donkey considers that, at least as far as Valmiki Ramayana is concerned, kArtikEya is apparently LESS SHAIVITE. Strangely, there is no place for all the three principal Goddesses Saraswati, Mahalakshmi and Parvati (or Adi Shakti). Gayatri alone is the Female Goddess in the list. She is considered as a rival for Saraswati, seeking Creator Brahma's love.

Some readers may have an impression that "bhaga" , S.No. 7 in the above list, may be Shiva. But the word bhaga seems to be more linked to "Prosperity or bhAgyam".

Sanskrit bhaga (IAST: bhaga) is a term for "lord, patron", but also for "wealth, prosperity". The cognate term in Avestan and Old Persian is baga, of uncertain meaning but used in a sense in which "lord, patron, sharer/distributor of good fortune" might also apply. The cognate in Slavic languages is the root bogъ. The semantics is similar to English lord (from hlaford "bread-warden"), the idea being that it is part of the function of a chieftain or leader to distribute riches or spoils among his followers. The name of the city of Baghdad derives from Middle Persian baga-data, "lord-given".

ybrao-a-donkey says: The reference to Avesta (Zend Avesta of Zorashtrianism of Iran) and Old Persian (Persia was an old name for Iran), suggests that Aryans have migrated to India, through Iran also, apart from, through Central Asia.

ybrao-a-donkey adds: These verses 3-12-17 to 3-12-20 which describe the list of Gods in Sage Agastya's Hermitage may also be an insertion of a later period. Another observation which can be made, there is no mention of existence of any idols or deities, or their descriptions. It can be noted by careful readers of Valmiki Ramayana, that Valmiki is a great describer. If there were idols / deities of wood/stone/mud/metal, he would definitely have described at least some of them.

Question: How can you say that Great Sage Valmiki was a great describer?

Answer: Valmiki Ramayana abounds in a wealth of descriptions and depictions of sun, moon, moonlight, stars, water and rivers, mountains, sunrises, sunsets, and what not? In verse No. 5-29-4, Valmiki described Sita's thigh as comparable to an Elephant's head.

If metal / mud / stone / wood idol worship existed as temple deities in those days, Valmiki would not definitely have omitted to describe them at least once in the 24,000 verses.

WHY VALMIKI OMITTED DESCRIBING TEMPLES IN CHAPTER 25 OF BOOK 1 (BALA KANDA, SARGA 5)

Entire Chapter 5 with 23 verses, of Bala Kanda describes Ayodhya City. None of the 23 verses describe temples of Ayodhya. This particular verse 23 says that Priests, Vedic Scholars maintained Ritual Fires. There is no mention about their worshipping idols /deities. According to Vaishnava worship methods, Lord VishNu is an "alankAra priya" (Liker of Decorations). Then the Priests must also have been spending some time on decorating the idols /deities of Lord Vishnu and Mahalakshmi. In the entire Valmikia Ramayana, Valmiki does not describe any such idol / deity decorations, pushpa yAgams (flower sacrifices which Tiruchanuru Temple celebrated one recently), or some Swing Service ie. placing Lord's idols on swings like cradles (Unjal Seva)(which Tirumala Temple celebrates everyday). It is not that Valmiki avoids vivid descriptions of visuals.

WHY VALMIKI WHO DESCRIBED DASARATHA'S ASVAMETHA YAGNA (HORSE SACRIFICE) IN SUCH DETAIL, OMITTED TO MENTION ABOUT OBEISANCES TO DEITIES / IDOLS?

Chapter 8 of Book 1 Bala Kanda described the Asvametha Sacrifice in length, including how Kausalya stabbed the sacrificial horse, and how Dasaratha inhaled the smoke of burning horse fat. But none of the 25 verses make any mention of temples in the City.

TAILPIECE धूमकेतु తోకచుక్క

TELANGANA CHIEF MINISTER Shri K. Chandra Sekhara Rao (popularly known as KCR) is celebrating an great Sacrifice called "Ayuta Chandi yAga" in which around a thousand priests are participating. What is to be found there? Only Sacrificial pyres or fires in which lot of cow's ghee (clarified butter), corn, wheat etc. are poured (in ancient times animal meats such as horse's meat used to be thrown). No idols / deities can be found. In the 21st Century yagnas / yagas (sacrifices) animal sacrifices are avoided. Recitations of magic chants continue. On the Compound Walls (as seen on TV Channels), there is a Swastik Symbol apart from Om symbol. Swastik is a Symbol of Germany, Larvia, Lithuania and Old Prussian culture. Hitler laid a claim for the Swastik Symbol. Of course Buddhism and Jainism also lay a claim for Swastik. For example in Amaravati Museum, on one Buddhist stone sculpture, we can see Swastik Mark.

Shri KCR is reported to be spending about Rs. 120 million (12 crore) personal money for that. He is reported to earn from his farm land (in which there is a farm-house) Rs. 10 million per annum in the form of harvests. Our Lord Shri Rama in Valmiki Ramayana performed a hundred horse sacrifices and several other sacrifices, honored priests with great gifts etc. Now our modern Rama i.e. KCR is also a great sacrifice-performer and great honorer of Priests with great gifts. Who says that history does not repeat? History repeats!

President of India Mr. Pranab Mukherjee, Governor of Tamil Nadu, Governor of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, Union Urban Development Minister Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, everybody will be visiting the Ayuta Chandi Yagam and smelling the fumes from the sacrificial fires. Rooms have been specially built for them.

Messrs. KCR and Nara Chandra Babu Naidu (Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh State) may not speak out. In the inner Chamber of their minds, they may be GREAT SUPPORTERS OF CASTE SYSTEM with all the hierarchial dominations and suppressions. All the key portfolios will be controlled by those who belong to the same caste as KCR and Chandra Babu Naidu! Dynastic Successions you can see! Rama gave a part of MP to Lakshmana's sons. Rama gave another part of MP, Chattisgadh and Orissa to Satrughna's sons. Rama helped Bharata and Yudhajit/Asvapati to conquer Kandahar (Afghanisthan) with great bloodshed. Bharata's sons were made Kings there. Rama's sons Kusa and Lava were anointed in Ayodhya to succeed Rama. Now, in Telangana, who will be anointed? KTR ? Harish RAo ? Kavita? In Residual Andhra Pradesh who will be anointed? Lokesh? Balakrishna ? Wait and see. What will happen in 2019?

Swami Dayananda Saraswati founded Arya Samaj, a Reform Movement in India. Their main methods of worship consist of sacrificial fires in which clarified butter and herbs are used as offerings. Idol /deity worship is rare.

To continue.

625 Part 1- To know and DO what is good, and avoid what is bad, there is NO need to get so much compressed and stressed.

On 3.12.2015, evening 6 to 8 p.m., I spent about two hrs. viewing SVBC TV Channel. I was expecting to view the usual scheduled program 'nAda nIrAjanam' [Approx. English: Glorious light-worship to nAda (the infinite God of Sound. A personification of Musical notes and Music)]. Singing nAda, Listening to nAda is also a type of Worship in Indian Culture. Some people believe that by listening to the sweet and systematic notes of Indian Music (both CarnATic and HindUsthAni Musics), some physical and mental ailments of humans (probably animals like cows, buffaloes also) can be cured. While this belief is there for a long time, more studies are needed to confirm or deny its veracity and tenability. And such studies will have to be unbiased, above all should have non-commercial goals in this Capitalist World.
Link to Part 2 of this topic. Click to go to Part 2 (post No. 626).

As it appears that, TTD SVBC Channel wanted to give priority to LIVE TELECAST the discourse of Shri Chaganti Koteswara Rao, delivered in Visakhapatnam, on "AchArams" (English: Traditions and Customary practices), nAda nIrAjanam was postponed to 8.30 p.m. on that day, and Shri Chaganti Koteswara Rao's discourse was live broadcast.

The discourse lasted about two hours. The pravachana chakravarti (Emperor of Discoursers), pravachanakara ratnAkara (Ocean of Discourses), sanAtana dharma ratnAkara [Ocean of Ancient dharma (I do not have the skills to translate this word in its phrasal context)], etc. holder, worked hard to drive into the skulls of the audiences the importance of adhering to "AchAram" (Traditions and Practices), supporting his explanations with great oratorial adeptness, recitation of Sanskrit and Telugu Verses, narration of some short stories. The Channel cameramen have done their duty showing some responsive faces, smiling, clapping etc. etc. Some audience might have determined within themselves to implement some of the instructions. It's alright, ours is a country of 1.3 billion people, and Telugu people themselves are about a 100 millions, Visakhapatnam City has about 1.4 million people. Hence there will be no dearth of fans for any public person.

According to internet, there are hundreds of thousands of fans for Shri Chaganti Koteswara Rao. We have also read in media, that Govt. of Andhra Pradesh (or probably TS) recommended a Padma BhUshan Award to Shri Koteswara Rao, for the 2016 Republic Day. So far so good. His fans on the net have expressed a view that his rivals envy him, because they do not have the same talent as Shri Koteswara Rao, and they are jealous of him because they do not have the same popularity as him. Anyway I am not his rival. I already have a title given by my readers "a donkey". It is enough for me. There is no need for me to be jealous of him. Hence I am writing below what I wanted to write about that particular discourse, without inhibitions, and at the cost of incurring the wrath of his adorers.

ybrao-a-donkey's humble comments. You have every right to differ with me. I respect your right. However, pl. examine this donkey's views also.

Listening to his nearly two hour discourse, spiced with number of verses, poems, anecdotes, arguments, references to Respectable Ramana Maharshi, Chandrasekharendra Saraswati Swamigal, etc. etc. I could ADMIRE him-- only for his command on Sanskrit and English Verses, and oratorial and presentational skills. Here also, a limitation: Practice makes man perfect.

I could not digest what he wanted to drive and ply into the minds of audiences, with his "screw-drivers" of powerful arguments. The gist of his speech seems to centre around three things: 1. Our AchArams (traditions and customs) are prescribed by God himself. 2. Scriptures are the embodiments of God's dictats. 3. We should not question God's dictats conveyed through our scripture-writers. If we question, that will become "durAchAram", (bad custom), and "anAchAram" (not a custom, or anti-custom). Questioning will not become sadAchAram (virtuous or righteous custom).

This problem of viewing the contents of scriptures as God's dictats, that they are sacro-sanct, that they cannot be questioned, exists even in alien (foreign non-Indian) religions. Entire Medieval History of Europe is replete with incidents of burning Questioners on Stakes, stoning them with death, excommunicating them, blocking supply of water, milk, essentials to them etc. Such questions were called "Heresy" and the questioners were called "Heretics". Fatwas are issued against the questioners, threatening them / ordering fanatics to kill them. These things were more pronounced in Semitic Religions, somewhat less in Indian Cultures.

Now what occurs to my mind, through his lectures, what does Shri Koteswara Rao garu want to people to follow? Accept whatever is mentioned in the Scriptures as inviolable and unquestionable truths.? Shri Koteswara Rao garu, in his speech, has also defined ItihAsas. He has quoted extensively from RamAyAna to support that Rama was a maryAdA purushOttama (English: A personification of Etiquette and Ethics).

The problem with our discourse-makers is, they do not study our scriptures in depth. They concentrate on what the Temples want the discoursers to tell, and Audience want to listen. Suppose, the discourser says that Shri Rama does not appear to be a maryAda purushOttama because he broke his pledge to his mother that he would LIVE like a muni surviving on FRUITS AND ROOTS, promised to Sage Bharadwaja that he was on his father's orders to live in forests on fruits and roots, and declared to the Tribal King Guha that he would eat only fruits and roots during his stay in forests, and the very next day he breaks his pledge by killing FOUR DEER to satiate the hunger of three people, the discourser will not be allowed into the temple, and he will be blacklisted. For proof of Rama's promise to his mother, one can see verses in Valmiki Ramayana, see verse No. 2-20-31 :
Rama's promise to mother Kausalya.

To explain what is right and wrong in uttering truth, Shri Koteswara Rao told a story, which is a word-jugglery. "My eyes saw it, but they cannot speak. My mouth can speak, but it has not seen". These things were said by a hermit to a hunter.

Suppose a robber enters our house with a gun or with a knife, and asks us to tell where the family-gold is kept. Suppose we tell him: "... When my wife kept them somewhere, I saw, but my eyes which saw it cannot speak. My mouth can tell, but the mouth did not see, it does not know...." . What will the robbers do? Will they leave us?

I do not want to find fault with the idea of telling small lies, to protect or serve a big cause. But, the question is, will the trick of word-jugglery "my eyes know, but they cannot speak. my mouth can speak, but it has not seen" , can be given any value, except as a joke to keep the audience smile and remain interested?

Our pravachana chakravarti referred to the conversation of Rama and minister-cum-charioteer Sumantra about not reverting the chariot as requested by DaSaratha, and Rama's advice to Sumantra to tell Dasaratha, that Dasaratha's order to reverse the chariot was not heard amidst the noises and din of chariot wheels.

Then, to accomplish what great goal, did Rama break his promises made to Kausalya, Guha, and Bharadwaja, that he would lead a Saint's life, eating only fruits and roots, the very next day of entering the forest after crossing Yamuna River?

Has it not come to the notice of our Discourses-Emperor that Shri Rama broke his promises made to his mother Kausalya, Tribal King Guha, and Sage Bharadwaja, the very next day, after crossing the Yamuna River and entering the forest? Why did the verses quoted by me above escape the notice of our Pravachana Chakravarti? Didn't he study Valmiki Ramayana in depth? He recites all the verses of Valmiki Ramayana with great memory. Then why did he conceal verse No. 2-52-102, which clearly proves that Shri Rama by hunting four deer, has broken his promises made to his mother, Guha and Bharadwaja !

It is not that vegetables /fruits / roots were not available in the forest during summer. Shri Rama and Lakshmana should have eaten fruits and roots at least for one month, before breaking their pledge. Why they could not wait at least one week eating fruits, before venturing to kill deer?

Why did they hunt four deer, when one deer is sufficient to satisfy the hunger of three people.

All the thirteen years in the forest (fourteenth year Sita was in Lanka and not with Shri Rama, hence not counted), how many deer would Rama and Lakshmana have hunted? 4 x 365 x 13 = 18980 deer !!! !!!

Sita Rama Lakshmanas hunted deer only on the first day of entering the forest. Remaining 13 years 11 months 29 days, they have not hunted. They ate only fruits and roots. This argument will not be valid, because we cannot ignore verses 2-96-1 and 2-96-2, reading as under:
Vol. 2, Book of rAma's life at ayOdhya i.e ayOdhyA kAnDa, Chapter 96, Verse 1.

One common thing we observe in Residual Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State (probably in entire India). Our behaviors have gone beyond repair, owing to erroneous interpretations by our discoursers.

House owners do not allow their tenants to keep a dead body EVEN FOR ONE MINUTE in the rented portions, if somebody in the family of the rented person dies. In Apartments (I am sure even at Visakhapatnam also), co-tenants press the Head of the deceased person's family to REMOVE THE BODY IMMEDIATELY. In both the cases, tenants are forced to bring the deadbody of their near-and-dear , direct from hospital and keep it under a shamiana (tent) outside the gate. Some householders do not even permit their tenants to enter their rented portions for some fortnights or for some months. This extermination depends on how GEOGRAPHICALLY THE OWNER IS NEAR TO THE TENANT, to come to know of the death in the tenant's family, and that the cremation / burial is pending.

I can give 100% guarantee that the house-owners who have heard the AchArams speech of Shri Chaganti Koteswara Rao, when they go back, and come to know that their tenant has lost a relative, and he kept the deadbody of his near-and-dear, in a warranda / portico, the OWNER will immediately ask the tenant to move the body to outside the gate. The tenant will have to RUN FOR A TENT and an FREEZER /ICE BOX. There will be no grace period of a few minutes even. Our house-owner great listeners of our Shri Chaganti Koteswara Rao, those who nodded their heads in approval, those who smiled and clapped, will be very adament in forcing the tenants to move the dead body outside the gate, as if the dead person is a dead cat / dog / rat. It is the greatness of our Scriptures, dharma sUkshmams (subtle ethical secrets) interpreted by our purOhits (priests) and preachers. If the owner is in a doubt, he will phone to his customary priest , who will tell him that a dead body should not be allowed into houses, even into hired portions, and apartments.

What will the tenants, who were listeners of Shri Chaganti Koteswara Rao, will do, when they go home, to their co-tenants?

To know and DO what is good, and avoid what is bad, there is NO need to get so much compressed and stressed. To show some empathy to a grieving person, so much lecturing with so much fanfare is not necessary. A simple MahabhArata verse will do:

OrulEyavi yonarincina
naravara , apriyamu tana manambunaku tA
norulakavi sEya kuniki
parAyaNamu dharma pathamula kellan.

Among all the paths of truth and justice (dharma), that path is the best which makes us not to do such things to others, which when done by others, hurt us.

Tail Piece
Now, can she Koteswara Rao take a 10 minute class to his audience (which includes owners & co-tenants, not to harass family members of deceased persons to move the dead body immediately as if it is some rat / cat / dog which died? This should be irrespective of what his scriptures say?

Will the Andhra Pradesh Government drive away the Residents of Uddandarayapalem, Tallayapalem, and Velagapudi villages, which have to be erased for building the Capital for the new State of Residual Andhra Pradesh? Can the Government do it without bloodshed? Can AP Chief Minister do it, before he gets arrested in the Cash for Vote Scam by the Telangana Govt.? Can the AP CM get the Telangana CM arrested in the Phone Tapping case, before KCr does the same thing to Mr. CBN? We need a thousand Sherlock Holmes and Watsons to break this cruel game of mutual acrimony.

As per the plan for Seed Capital prepared by the Singapore Government, and if the A.P. Government wants to get the Foundation Stone for A.P. State Capital laid by the Hon. Prime Minister of India in Oct. 2015, the A.P. Government will have to evict the Residents of the three villages and raze the houses to ground, for laying roads etc. Of course, for facilitating this, Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, will have to make another garland of promises to the Residents of these villages, such as alloting them high value luxury 3BR flats in the Capital City! They have to show some rainbow like dreams for the unfortunate villagers.

One of the earlier promises made by Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu and his Committee members is that villages, streets, and dwelling houses, in the Capital Area will not be disturbed.

These three villages may be tiny in size. But they are all historical villages of the Kakatiya and Vijayanagara heritage.

Assuming that Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu, and his successors continue this orgy upto the year 2050, (may be Jagan, may be Congress, may be BJP, may be some Pavan's Jana Sena, may be some other coalition Govt.), what will be the fate of the Government of Andhra Pradesh, and the People ruled by it?

Let us assume that the farmers who have surrendered their agricultural farms and the dwelling villages to the Capital, get their Commercial plots, Residential plots, Apartments, on a golden plate (this may not happen because the Private Developers who take up mega projects have knack cheating, and demand international arbitration, if any dispute arises. So, await, some global commercial disputes and arbitration, intervention of Governments.). We must learn from the demands made by the European lenders and lending countries on the Government of Greece in the recent bailout negotiations?

Let us dream that Japanese or Singapore or some XYZ foreign developers spend billions of Rupees and Dollars from their kitty (this also may not really happen. Remember the Dhabol Power Project Disaster! Foreign Developers will also borrow from Indian Banks for meeting their Project costs. Hence, all risks, in essence will be borne by the lending Indian Banks, may be Public Sector Banks, even if Private Sector Banks- depositors for the Indian Private Banks are also Indian public.).

Then, what will be the fate of the A.P. Government? Most of the Residents of Apartments in Andhra Pradesh and India know paying what are known as Monthly Maintenance charges. Even for a small apartment of 600 sqft., our apartment-residents pay about Rs. 2,000 per maintenance charges. If the foreign private Developers allot some floors in their skyscrapers to A.P. Government, what will be the Monthly Maintenance Charges the Developers levy on the A.P. Government? After all, the Foreign Developers run their businesses for profit, they are not philanthropic organisations.

QUESTION: You are pointing out the problems. Don't highlight the problems, we know them. Suggest solutions.

Government of Andhra Pradesh wasted nearly Rs. 20 billion (2,000 crore) on conducting the Godavari Pushkaras bathing festival in East and West Godavari Districts. Instead of that, had the Government made it a simpler Rs. 5 billion (500 crore) affair, the remaining Rs. 15 billion (1,500 crore) could have been used to build a small, vanilla Administrative Building Complex of 1 + 2 floors on Government lands wherever they are available READILY and DISPUTE FREE, without a need to DISLOCATE PEOPLE. If the Central Government gives another Rs. 5,000 crore (@ Rs. 1,000 crore every year), over a period of five years, we could have had a reasonably decent Capital (Not the Singapore type!).

Even now, it is not too late! The A.P. Government is going to spend another Rs. 2,000 crore on the Krishna Pushkaras (Krishna River bathing festival) in 2016. The A.P. Government can limit the festival to just Rs. 500 crore, use the remaining Rs. 1,500 crore for raising 1+2 (Ground Flour + two stairs) complexes.

Even now, I suggest that Residual Andhra Pradesh should initially build a small vanilla 1+2 or 1+5 floor Administrative Capital at small places like Nagarjuna Sagar, Nandikotkur, Atmakur, Donakonda, Jangareddigudem (where enough Govt. land is available, with nearby rivers for drinking water). Note: I do not own any plots at these places.. As a medium-term plan for 2050, we can have three Capitals one each in North Andhra, South Andhra and Rayala Seema. Cost of each can be within an upper limit of Rs. 5,000 crore each, @ Rs. 1,000 crore per annum to be collected from the Central Government.

People of Andhra Pradesh should know the reasons for Singapore's apparent prosperity. Singapore like other World Commercial Centres and Tax Havens of the World thrives on secret funds circulating in the Global Financial World. Everybody knows that these Funds are not clean! Though the people of such Global Financial Cities look wealthy and leading luxurious life, they will be undergoing great mental stress and agony, in their day-to-day manoeures to survive in the Shark-eats-man Financial Seas. Though the people of Andhra Pradesh suffered a thousand years of turmoil under Muslim invasions, colonial European rulers, attacks from Pindaris and Thugs, all those sufferings will be miniscule when compared to the stress of living in Global Financial Havens. It will be worse than the nuclear radiation emitted by leaks from CHERNOBYL or FUKUSHIMA reactors.

People of Residual Andhra Pradesh should work hard, to identify new independent Candidates, and probably some candidates from parties like CPI and CPM, for the 2019 elections. A promise should also be obtained from them that they will decentralise administration to all the three Regions, and that they will concentrate more on reviving our villages which are rotting due to Governmental and public neglect.

Context of the photo of Respectable Shri Pavan Kalyan, Telugu Film star, and Shri Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, Former Congress and present TDP Member of Parliament, Narasaraopet Constituency.

Shri Rayapati Sambasiva Rao is a seasoned and veteran Senior Parliament Member. Unfortunately, in Sept. 2014, he demoted himself to a level of celebrating and cutting cakes for a youthful film star like Pavan Kalyan. This is like "kunjara yUdhambu dOma kuttuka jocchen" (Elephant entering into the throat of a mosquito).

Shri Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad, a former Minister in the United A.P. Govt. is a disciple of Shri Rayapati. When Mr. Rayapati deserted Congress before 2014 Elections, Shri Dokka could not jump. He might have been regretting his decision now. His guru Shri Rayapati might have convinced him saying "Better late than, never.". Mr. Prasad used to cut cakes for his guru's birthday. We can hope that he will now continue his custom.

Shri Rayapati Sambasiva Rao was reported to have said at Vijayawada, on August 2015.

If Jana Sena leader Mr. Pavan Kalyan leads from front, we shall walk behind him (accompany him).

Pl. take it lightly. You need not agree with me.

One should stand in front, while claiming contracts, posts, temple darsanas, tickets, bank loans. One should stand behind in case of Peoples' Movements.

I read Ramayana Visha Vriksham of Ranganayakamma about 30 years back. I recollect at one place, she pointed out Shri Rama, may be for joke and irony, that Shri Rama always preferred to walk behind Lakshmana , Sita and himself at the tail, in a single filament. Her view might have been Shri Rama was more conscious about his own safety than the safety of Lakshmana in the forefront. Context: Lakshmana, Sita and Rama entered the forest as a part of their 14 year exile and they were walking towards ChitrakUTa Hills. In forests, of those days, or even now, when people walk on single-line paths with trees on both sides, there is a danger of wild animals, demons, robbers attacking the first person in the forefront. As far as I can remember, she seems to have expressed a view, may be for generating laughter, that Rama wanted to flee if there was such real danger to life. That perspective may not be correct, because Rama fought courageously with the demon Ravana in Yuddha kAnDa.

Similarly our Respectable Rayapati Sambasiva Rao may be keen on standing behind.

Neither Mr. Pavan Kalyan nor Mr. Sambasiva Rao may not take up an adventure of leading from forefront, prima facie, they are in activities of making some millions of Rupees, may be through acting in films, contracts such as Polavaram, tobacco and cotton spinning, so on, so forth.

For those who want proof about Shri Rama walking at the tail end, here is the relevant quote from Valmiki Ramayana.
Valmiki Ramayan 2-52-98 and 2-52-99

English script:
praNashta jana sambandham kshetrarama vivarjitam
vishamam cha prapAtam ca vana madhya pravEkshyati.

SritvA rAmasya vacanam pratisthE lakshmaNO agrataha
anantaram ca SItAyA rAghavO raghu nandanaha.

English gist: Sita will enter forest, where population density will be thin, and devoid of houses and fields. Terrain will be difficult. We shall enter a rough forest.

Hearing Rama's words, LakshmaNa stood in the forefront. Sita followed him. Then Raghava followed.

Hindi Gist:

Telugu gist:

Will Shri Pavan Kalyan walk in forefront or not?
(To continue.
