1001 News Roundup, Musings and Reflections

On 29th May 2017, we have studied the issue of creating a Special Category in Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards, titled 'International Acclaimed Actress Award', probably just for the purpose of granting the award to Ms. Priyanka Chopra. Then we have asked ourselves the key question on whether the Award Granting Institution wanted to pull some crowds for its Awards Distribution function, or whether the Actress herself has approached the Academy to seek an Award. Whatever may be the reason, it appeared as though both are going to benefit. The very next day of our blog post, i.e. the 30th May 2017, Ms. Priyanka Chopra, posted her picture depicting her meeting with the Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi in Berlin.

Some comments of the Netizens at the Twitter page of Ms. Priyanka Chopra are very interesting, because they show the intellectual level of Indians, who self-proclaim themselves as teachers of Bhagavad Gita to the world.
Names of the Netizens omitted.

Replying to @priyankachopra @narendramodi Big love.. 2 super heros of nation in one frame.

Salman Khan, Bollywood Hero: "Great".

You make India so proud you are truly Queen of India 💛💛💛

The gal makes the India proud with the man who is making India a better place. So proud of you PC ❤🙏

Personal views of ybrao-a-donkey, which are not intended to be imposed on others

It is not clear who sought the interview. Did Ms. Priyanka Chopra approach the Hon. Prime Minister (his Aids)? Or did the Hon. Prime Minister ask his Aids to check up where Ms. Priyanka Chopra is, and arrange an interview for her. Answers to this question are important because it is not unnatural for film actors to seek interviews with the Leaders of their country. But Presidents and Prime Ministers of countries taking more interest in meeting film actors may, sometimes, look odd. This is because Heads of States and Heads of Governments are believed to be hard-pressed for time, and they have hundreds of emergent and priority tasks to attend to, when compared to meeting an Actress.

If the actress herself has first approached the PM's Aids, seeking an interview with the PM, then it becomes a delicate question for the PM to deny it, though there is nothing wrong in saying 'no' because PMs and Presidents on a foreign tour may have very very tight schedule. Probably, Ms. Chopra, too might not have found fault with the denial. Anyway, Prime Minister has time in his hand to meet Film Heroines.

In newspapers, I have seen a report that some Netizens have trolled Ms. Priyanka Chopra for wearing a dress which showed her legs, before the Prime Minister. (Personally, I do not view this as an aberration). If there are dress codes for presenting oneself before Prime Ministers/ Prime Ministers, such codes will have to be informed to the persons seeking interviews. Then PM's Aids, should also keep some stocks of male and female dresses, to provide last minute help to unaware guests meeting the PM. Even temples, having dress codes, give wide publicity for their dress codes.

1000 Some Reflections on this World and India

Ms. Priyanka Chopra, Climbing Star from Bollywood to Hollywood, is entitled to her own ways, to make quick greenbacks, but why all this hullabaloo about conferring Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards to her? Dadasaheb Phalke was the Grand Old Man and the Pioneer of Indian Film Industry of the EARLY 20th Century. Government of India in 1969 constituted a 'Dadasaheb Phalke Award', the highest in the Indian Film World. Ms. Devika Rani, the heroine of the Indian Film Industry in its infancy was the first Recipient. Greats like Satyajit Ray, Shanta Ram, were among its recipients. Usually, this Award is delivered and received from the President of India, the Head of State. The latest recipient of the Award is Telugu Film Director K. Viswanath, who has produced many memorable off-the-beaten-track classical musical films. It appears that our Heroines and Heroes are not willing to wait till some of them get the coveted award from the Government of India. A parallel 'Dadasaheb Phalke Academy Awards' have been created to quench the thirst of the ambitious stars who have made big bucks in India or abroad, or both.

Who approaches whom for these Awards? Who pays whom for these Awards?

Indian Citizens know something about the traditional Official Dadasaheb Phalke Awards, announced and conferred by Government of India, as the Conferment of the Awards by President of India gets wide publicity both in Print and Electronic Media. But they know very little about the "Phalke Academy Awards". While this is so, a new category by name International Acclaimed Actress Award seems to have been introduced for accommodating the BollyHolly star Ms. Priyanka Chopra.

Did Ms. Priyanka Chopra approach the Academy for an Award? Has the Academy approached the actress on its own volition?

Ans: Not known.

Did Ms. Peecee donate any bucks to the Academy to induce them to introduce "International Acclaimed Actress" Award?

Ans: not known. Ordinarily, awards carry some citation, some cup/trophy/memento, and some cash. That means, the Academy has to incur some expense on these counts. Is Ms. Chopra reimbursing them their out of pocket expenses. Ans: Not known.

Is the Phalke Academy is so publicity crazy, and publicity starved, that it is compelled to invite Ms. Priyanka Chopra, so as to 'pull crowds' for their functions

Ans. May be.

Both Print Media and Electronic Media are giving so much publicity for this event. What proportion of it is paid News, and what proportion of it is free news?

Ans: Not known.

Do Yogis need Sofas, Carpets, AirConditioners, Curtains to console mourning family members of a martyr?

Ans: It appears so. For this question, this ybrao-a-donkey is incompetent to reply. Only the Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, who is a self-proclaimed Yogi, can reply to this question.

Today's Telugu verse

From Sumati Satakam, by 14th CE poet BaddenAmAtya.

Approx. English gist: 1st line: When wealth comes, it comes,
2nd line: a la the water (juice) in a coconut fruit.
3rd line: When Wealth goes, it goes,
4th line: like the pulp in a stone apple fruit swallowed by an elephant.
Note: It is a 14th Century CE Deccan belief that when an elephant swallows a stone-apple, without breaking its stony epicarp-pericarp, it digests the fruit's pulp, and excretes a hollow fruit.

Purport-Discourse: When wealth comes it comes silently. When it leaves, it makes no noise. Everything takes place silently, as if it happens stealthily. So, the sofas , air conditioner, carpet, curtains, all have come and gone like 'siri'.

972 Can a poor country like India afford to spend Rs. 10 billion on a single movie?

The eight day old Movie Bahubali-2 a Conclusion, is reported to have collected approx. Rs. 8 billion (Rs. 800 Crore) in its eight days life. Print News papers, TV Channels, internet pages are agog with predictions that it will collect Rs. 10 billion (Rs. 1,000 crore) shortly. During the last fortnight there is a big hullabaloo about the Greatness of the contents of Bahubali2 in Press Media, Electronic Media, and Net. It is said that honey-bees live 45 days. Average life span of a worker ant is about five weeks. While the Bahubali-1 Beginning was reported to have gathered big moolah in its first release, it is reported that the same film's second release in March 2017, received little attention and money. Virually with all the newspapers, TV channels, net pages, day-in day-out hammering out the merits of the Bahubali-2, it has become very difficult to delineate and distinguish between GENUINE NEWS and PAID NEWS (advertisements converted into news, of course for an extra payment to the Media).

India is a very poor country, where millions of people find it very difficult to get two square meals a day. Bulk of its population is Working Class. Everybody knows big budget films try to make a quick buck, by jacking up prices of cinema tickets in the first week of release of the film, as if the film will vanish into thin air during the second week. Of course, producers and distributors blame the Exhibitors (Theatre owners), for the black-marketing of Cinema Tickets. I have come across hotel workers, auto-drivers, shop clerks and sales persons, who hardly earn about Rs. 6,000 to Rs. 9,000/- per month (Rs. 200 to 300 per day), shelling out as much as Rs. 2,000/- (about 6 to 8 days wage) to see a film of about 3 hours. They do not know what they are doing.

Some Important Questions

1. Abnormally huge remuneration paid to Heros.
2. Preferance to shot films abroad, even when suitable Indian Locations are available.
3. High rents charged by theatre owners.
4. High profile media publicity.
5. Creating unnecessary sets and settings, spending millions, just to create scenes of a few minutes, which are later, often abandoned or dismantled, resulting in loss of huge quantities of materials such as plywood.
6. Studying History, Researching into veracity and tenability of Legends, Mythologies, and Histories are more important than indulging into fictitious and imaginary questions like "Why did Kattappa kill Bahubali?".
7. May be under evil influences from Hollywood films, Indians seem to have created self-illusions that "SMALL" is not beautiful, and "Small Films" are not financially viable.
8. Media, especially those firms and Companies which have sold financial strength, should not run for dosh from excess crazy advertising and greedy-unhealthy advertising campaigns, simply because there are some millions on golden platters.
9. A dozen Joy-generating, and message-filled (not preaching) films can be produced with the same investments of one single film like Bahubali Beginning and Bahubali-2 Conclusion. Some of them will definitely succeed, though some may fail. This Film World has not become totally black and dismal. When small films are produced, risks can be spread and hedged.
10. On the other hand see: If the big budget films like Bahubal Beginning and Bahubali Conclusion tank at Box Office? In fact, had NOT the producers, directors, distributors, exhibitors have not indulged in numerous unscrupulous marketing practices for creating illusions and craze among the spectators and the people, the two films might have flopped. It is not my wish that they should flop. We should anticipate the possibility of their flopping, and their consequences. At least some lives of some distributors will be wrecked. We can see the lessons from the said-to-be failure of Mr. Pavan Kalyan's films- Gabbar Singh, and Katama Rayudu. Let us wish that Film Industry in toto, and the billions of people across the world are not hijacked and dumped into craze and idiocy, by foolish business advertising and publicity propagandas.

929 What are these birth days at 2 a.m., and when do our Media Houses learn lessons? Will these bourgeoisie habits end only with Total Socialism?

What are these birth-days which are celebrated at 2 a.m., the time at which all the creatures except nocturnal wild animals, are supposed to be in deep slumber! Ms. Alia Bhat, Bollywood Star was said to be celebrating her birthday, at Juhu, Mumbai. As if day time and evenings are not sufficient for parties, this diva arranged a birth day party at 2 a.m. And Media Houses drive their poor photographers to star-homes, to capture photos, as if daytime is not sufficient to hound both the photographers and the stars. And a said-to-be newbie photographer, named Mr. Deepak Hooda rushes in the crowd of other running photographers along and across the car of Mr. Shah Rukh Khan, and gets his foot trampled by the star's car. The star might have remembered the travails of Mr. Salman Khan who was involved in a car accident case stretching into several years, might have promptly woken up to the consequences, and to mollify/pacify/smoothen the severity of the incident, sent the injured photographer along with the star's body guard to Nanavati Hospital, and get him treated by his personal doctor.

Here is a news report which narrates the gentleness and kindness of Mr. Shah Rukh Khan:

Click here to go to http://www.bollywoodlife.com/news-gossip/shah-rukh-khan-has-a-piece-of-advice-for-the-photographer-who-got-hurt-by-his-car-watch-video/. Mr. Shah Rukh Khan is also reported to have rendered some advice on surgeries, and the need to undergo frequent checks-up.

“I am not a surgery junkie. I have had nine or ten. I have just had one. I still have to take my stitches off.” “...You spend as much time on the road as I do. Do regular checkups. All of you are running around…day before yesterday one boy…please be careful in front of cars. ...”

ybdonkey's views with no malice to anyone

So, let'us all be careful in front of cars. Stars need not be careful, while driving the cars. Mr. Khan might have adequately compensated not only the injured photographer, but also other photographers in the crowd to dilute the incident. Sehbas, Media, and the photographers.

Who these Media owners, and Media Editors, are driving the photographers and scribes to fall under the front wheels of star cars? That too at 2 a.m.? Can't this news item be collected next morning and reported with reasonable promptness?

We cannot strictly blame photographers in these episodes. This is because, photographers may lose their jobs and their livelihood, if they refuse to chase star cars. It is hightime, Media scribes and photographers form proper Trade Unions, work out a Code of Conduct and Ethics, and voluntarily abide by it. It is not that they do not have Trade Unions today, but somehow, they seem to be ineffective, where their role is direly needed.

It is also a punishment for Shah Rukh Khan's body guard, named Ravi, who had to work at night 2 a.m., and whose working hours might have been prolonged, as he has had to wait on the injured photographer in the hospital.

Is the gesture of Shri Shah Rukh Khan, a NOBLE GESTURE?

Ans: Difficult to say. A reader wrote in Letters to Editor of DeccanChronicle.Com, Vijayavada Edition, print edition dated 20.3.2017:

NOBLE GESTURE
"...Shah Rukh Khan's gesture towards a photographer who was injured by his car was remarkable. Nowadays hit and run is common. But SRK got down, and asked the man to sit in his car..."
Shri S.A. Nabi, Giddalur (letter writer).

ybrao-a-donkey's view:

Film stars may be experts in hit and run. But, the point at which accident took place is not suitable for a hit-and-run feat. Reasons: Ahead of Shah Rukh's car is the venue of Ms. Alia Bhat's Party. There may be some portico. There may be cars parked in front of the portico. Going ahead with top speed for an 'escape' is not possible. Reversing the car may also not be so easy, because there may be a compound wall, some garden plants, behind. There may be cars of more invitees behind on the pathway, who might have come with equal speed and halted behind his car.

Salman Khan, and Ambani instances

As far as I can remember, Mr. Salman Khan's two decade old hit-and-run accident case is different from that Shah Rukh Khan, in that, Salman's accident took place in a Mumbai Street at midnight when traffic was not much, and escape was possible. Readers can also remember a few years' old, one hit and run case of Ambani Son. In both the cases, drivers came out later, taking out the responsibility for the accident, and trying to relieve their masters from criminal liabilities.

Had the star not shown some empathy and compassion at that moment,

and left the place recklessly, there might have been a police complaint, and he would have been forced to go around police stations, advocates' offices, and courts, and even those things might have cost him a million bucks, apart from his missing some shootings. Thus, some common sense, some sixth sense, some prudence gained from experience, may have forced Shri Shah Rukh Khan to show some small mercies.

However, I do not wish to throw the entire blame on Shah Rukh Khan, as he is being chased.

My only feeling is he should have slowed down and applied his brakes, to prevent mishaps. By stopping a few minutes exposing himself to photographers, he would not have lost much. What he would have done inside the birthday pary? Eating and boozing? The blame should fall on the Media Houses and Media Bureau Chiefs who must have been exerting undue pressure on the photographers and scribes.

Ordinarily, we should not expect our bourgeoisie to show compassion and empathy.

It is against their very character. There is a Telugu verse of Vemana:

goDDu TAvu pituka kunDa kompOyina
panDla nUDa tannu pAla niDadu
lObhi vAni naDuga lAbhambu lEdayA
viSvadAbhi rAma vinura vEma

English gist, approx.: If we take a pot to a barren cow to milk it, it will not yield any milk. Instead, it will kick our teeth out. There is no use of asking misers.

How to prevent these unnecessary disdainful chores during nights in True Total Socialism?

Anyway, we can hope, in a totally and truly Socialist State, these bourgeoisie behaviors can be eliminated. Proletariat (Working Class) may have to decide what type of Film Industry they should have in a Truly Socialist country.

796 Should Indian celebrities visit UK, USA, and the Europe, so too-frequently, get insulted, and then sulk about it?

We, Indians, seem to be excessively bogged down and enamoured with the United States. Every alternate day, our celebrities visit either UK or the United States. The visits may be more frequent, than their visits to their own native village in their Mother State. Both in United Kingdom, and the United States, Indians are looked down upon with disdain and scorn.

With or without invitations, why should we visit U.K., and the U.S., so too-frequently? Are we beggars? Are we street vendors? It is understandable if our engineers, scientists or surgeons visit the Western countries, because they are technologically more advanced, and there are unlimited things to learn from them in those scientific and technological fields. If our cameramen or film technicians visit those countries to learn new techniques, it is understandable. But, what do film stars learn there?

"Familiary breeds contempt." Why should our celebrities visit U.K., U.S.A., and Europe, so often, get disparaged or insulted and then sulk about such damnities?

.

Our film stars like Ms. Priyanka Chopra and Ms. Deepika Padukone may be getting some green backs today in Hollywood. But, how long that fake-glory will continue? Not that, they do not know the harsh realities. But they seem to want to hang on till they are necked out. Numerous opportunities are available to them in India. Not satisfied?

It is hightime, our celebrities start looking into the mirrors of their consciences and intellects, if at all, they have any.

TAILPIECE धूमकेतू తోకచుక్క

In spite of resistance by citizens, both the UPA2 Government and the NDA2 Government forced on multitude of INdians, the Unique ID card called ADHAR CARD, with Unique ID No., finger prints, iris scans. It is hightime, we think of using the last five digits of the UID Adhar No. as a suffix of Indian Names. Real names may temporarily be hidden, because they give uninvited revelation about a person's caste, religion, language, region most of which can cause embarassments and lead to fissiparous tensions.

659 Why did Ms. Asha Parikh approach Mr. Gadkari direct, instead of sending wads of currency notes?

There does not seem to be anything wrong, in Padma Award aspirants directly approaching concerned bureaucrats, leaders recommending or deciding on the conferment of Awards, or the leaders of the particular Region or State, direct with their applications or CVs or CDs.

This can at the most be called sakAma karma (action, seeking fruits of performances). Why should anybody in a Capitalist Society do nishkAma karmas (actions without expecting fruits and results)? Asha Parikh, the Veteran Hindi Star is right in approaching Mr. Nithin Gadkari, seeking his help in getting a Padma Bhushan.

The real rot does not lie in that. Our decay has reached a level, where aspirants send brokers with wads of currency, to canvass for them, and buy it by any means. Nobody knows the size of the India's Padma Market. Of course, Prices will vary depending on the level of the Award (Bharat Ratna 1, Padma Vibhushan 2, Padma Bhushan 3, Padma Shri 4, Padma Shri being the lowest in the ladder).

Are Foreign Investments through Mauritius, Dubai and Singapore welcome? Electronic Money Transfers will not be allowed. Correct!

Will there be concessions for God Persons and Spiritual Gurus? Or the Telugu proverb "ekkaDainA bAvE kAni, vanga tOTalO bAva kAdu" will apply? Here is an anecdote which explains the background of this Telugu proverb. In Telugu lAnguage, an elder sister's husband is called "bAva". (Difference between brother-in-law and bAva is: Brother-in-law of the English language does not make any distinction between two brothers-in-law in age or respectability. For example, English language does not make any distinction between an elder-sister's husband, and an younger sister's husband. But Telugu language aims at mathematical exactitude and fineness of measurements in the meanings of words. bAva, an elder-sister's husband denotes greater respectability, whereas "maridi" an younger-sister's husband indicates, an younger age, less respectability, but more affection. These distinctions will be discussed in another blog post. Maridi is expected to show ample respect to his bAva. But this does not happen in brinjal gardens.

Back to the story of "ekkaDainA bAvE kAni, vanga tOTalO bAva kAdu" (meaning: Anywhere a brother-in-law, but not a brother-in-law in a brinjal garden). A bAva went to his (bAva-maridi= wife's younger brother) maridi's brinjal field, to see his maridi (also maradi). After the exchange of usual affections and courtesies, the bAva went back, empty handed. The maridi has not gifted any brinjals to his bAva either out of affection or respect. (Here, we should remember Karl Marx's saying: All human Relationships are pecuniary, monetary, financial). When the bAva returned home empty-handed, his wife (elder sister "akka" of our brinjal-garden owner) asked her husband (bAva): "Where are the brinjals?" . I am waiting for them to make a curry. The husband wearily replied: "Where are the brinjals? ekkaDainA bAvE kAni vanga tOTalO kAdu. Don't you know this proverb?". The akka became silent.

Click to go to ndtv.com/india-news, which reports a disclosure by Mr. Nithin Gadkari, India's Transport Minister 2014-16.
"(We) receive so many letters for Padmashree and Padma Bhushan recommendations. I have sent around thousand recommendations until now,"

"...One actress met me, she has turned old... Asha Parekh. She came to meet me in Mumbai. The lift to my residence was not working, she climbed up 12 floors. I felt very bad and asked her why she took the trouble. She said I have received Padmashree, Nitinji, now I want Padma Bhushan. I said you have received a Padmashree, it is like Padma Bhushan. She said no, ..."

ybrao-a-donkey's humble comments. You have every right to differ with me. I respect your right. However, pl. examine this donkey's views also.

I do not want to cast any aspersions on Mr. Gadkari, though in his previous incarnation of BJP President, he was made to quit his post, on allegations of some corruption. Of course, the politicians expect, and it is also true, that the memory of People is poor. Hence, what I write here may or may not apply to Mr. Gadkari's thousand recommendations for Padma Awards. There are 29 States in India, and about 650 Districts. Applications for Padma Awards may be recommended from any of these 650 Districts and 29 States, not to speak of Indian Embassies and Consulates Abroad. Probably even Foreign Embassies and Consulates operating in India can also probably put through their recommendations. Can apply to anybody, some or all.

Even if Rs. 10,000 is charged for forwarding an application with no guarantee of success, for 1000 applications, the aggregate will come to Rs. 1 crore (10 million). Suppose, a bargain is struck, with a guarantee of success, and if at least a million Rupees are charged for that particular case, and if a political leader succeeds in getting, say, 10 awards in his quota, the Marginal Revenue will be another Rupees 10 million. Total Revenue will be Rs. 20 million.

The mistake done by Ms. Asha Parikh is, she approached directly, climbing stairs of 12 floors. She ought to have sent wads of currency notes, not necessarily to Mr. Gadkari, to the right person who is an "ande vEsina cEyi" (A Telugu idiom) in lobbying for awards.

Meaning of the Telugu idiom "ande vEsina cEyi" = Hand which is embellished with a gold or diamond studded gold bracelet. This Telugu gold/silver ornament "ande" can be used to adorn either wrists or legs. cEyi= "hand".

Even in the 20th Century, it was a custom in Andhra Pradesh (probably throughout South India), to reward people with "ande"s and en-bangle their hands with "suvarNa ghanTA kankaNams" (gold studded wrist braclets or a sort of bangles with hollow-but-large girth, with interlaced precious stones). The suvarNa ghanTA kankaNams, artists, poets and scholars used to conspicuously demonstrate and exhibit, to show-case their merits.

Back to Mr. Gadkari's quote that Ms. Asha Parikh climbed 12 floors of stairs to reach him at his Residence in Mumbai, as lift was not working. I am unable to convince myself that Mr. Gadkari would have climbed 12 floors on foot to reach his home, if lift was not working. My understanding, --may be erroneous-- is , that there will be a separate lift for a VVIP politician like him which will be kept in a working condition. He ought to have requested her to use that Special VVIP Lift, and instructed the Operator of that Lift over phone to allow Ms. Parikh to use it. It is the way to honor a Senior Artist.

The non-working lift may be for hoi pollois to dissuade them from coming up. We should appreciate Ms. Asha Parikh's stamina, and sincerity in climbing stairs to 12 floors.

About "Padma Awards" in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh States, we shall take up in a separate blog post.

To continue and revise this, with more proof..

560 Part 1: Are filmi Capitalists afraid of anybody in this world?

Capitalists are not afraid of anybody. Even Prime Ministers and Presidents are afraid of Capitalists. How can filmi Capitalists be an exception? How can filmi music be an exception? The million dollar question is how to redeem our musicians who have been rendered bonded laborers by the Filmi Capitalists?

ybrao-a-donkey's humble views. I shall not insist that you agree with me.

Extreme threats do not really bring compliance.

It is true that music gets embellished and sweetened with rhythm.

But then, what is the use of threatening?

Qustion,
You are seeing the type of music we are getting in our film world, hollywood, bollywood, tollywood, kollywood, all types of woods. Do you find in today's film songs any melody, rhythm, sweetness in today's film music? Do threats like fearful hell will really frighten our Capitalists, and their slave Musicians? This Capitalist world is not afraid of anybody in Heaven, Earth, and the Nether world, including the consumers (in case of films it is the audience and the spectators).

In my mother tongue Telugu, there is a proverb: gongaLi lO tinTU ventrukalu lekka peTTukOTam enduku? Approximate meaning: Why count the number of hair(s), while dining on a torn woolen carpet? Threads of wool may fall on the food. No use of regrets, when we use a particular environment which either we have to change or stop fault-finding.

Her trying to get equal remuneration with men actors, is welcome. She is silent about Lady actresses playing character roles and non-glamor roles getting reasonably good remuneration (though not equal to that of a heroine). There should be explainable proportional relation between what a heroine gets and what other female actors, female asst. directors etc., and technicians get. Sometimes, heroines get more than the film directors. Will Ms. Raunat fight for every female participant in the industry?

462 Are All India BJP leaders viewing the developments in Telangana and Residual A.P. as a Bollywood film?

Nitin Gadkari's words are foolish.

Mr. Nitin Gadkari is India's 2015 Roads Minister.  Former President of BJP.  Said to be one of the think-tanks of BJP and confidants of Mr. Narendra Modi, of course after Mr. Arun Jaitley and Manohar Parrikar.

Knowledgeable readers know that Telangana State Govt. of K.C.R., K.T.R., Harish Rao, Kavita - family, and their cronies have unleashed a vindictive oppressive rule against the people of Residual Andhra Pradesh who come and go to Hyderabad, because it was their combined State Capital and is to continue so for another ten years.  As a part of that cruel action plan of theirs, they have started levying heavy road taxes on the buses plying from the Districts of Residual A.P.   As per their unilateral orders, bus operators registered in A.P., and plying to Hyderabad to carry people have to pay as much as Rs.176,000 per bus, per month.   The matter, is of course, sub judice.  We shall not, therefore, touch upon the justification or unjustification in a strictly legal view of their action.

The bus operators, will ultimately pass on the burden to the unfortunate people of Residual Andhra Pradesh who travel to Hyderabad for numerous purposes such as small jobs, visiting native places for festivals etc., apart from visiting the Offices of the A.P. State Government in Hyderabad as common Capital.

What Mr. Nitin Gadkari is reported to have said as per media:

"The decision to impose entry tax on AP vehicles entering into TS is within the jurisdiction of TRS Government. Centre can't interfere in the decision..."

What does Centre and BJP know then?  Dividing people and States unjustly?  Will they like to see the whole thing as Bollywood film?

1. I do not wish to say that Mr. Gadkari is a fool.  His words are foolish.

Reasons:

1. The increase made by Telangana Government hurts not only Residual A.P. Bus Operators, but also the COMMON PEOPLE who have to pay the increased fares, who travel under a compulsion to earn their livelihoods.

2. Telangana registered Bus Operators will not pay this tax, and they will have a competitive advantage.  In other words KCR & Co. wants AP bus operators to close down their shops, and that Telangana Bus operators to have a monopoly on buses plying to A.P.

3. All India B.J.P. and Congress have collusively and conspiratarily divided the United Andhra Pradesh for their selfish reasons.  Mr. Gadkari was also a part of that collusion.

4. Foreseeing the evil motives of KCR & Co., the people of Residual Andhra Pradesh wanted Hyderabad to be a Union Territory and common Capital for a few years till Residual A.P. settles with new Capital.  The BJP-Congress conspirators did not allow the just demand of Union Territory status to Hyderabad, but condescended to allow Hyderabad to be a common Capital for 10 years.

5. KCR & Co. does not want to wait even these ten years!  They want to drive out the people of Residual A.P. from Hyderabad by making their entry and existence impossible.   We can compare the conditions which KCR & Co. is creating to the conditions which Pakisthan has created for Hindus in West Pakisthan.  The idea of KCR & Co. is that:  the people of Residual A.P. who live in Hyderabad should be forced to sell their homes and flee back to Andhra like the Hindu refugees of the 1947 partition.  Just as Pakisthani Muslimis occupied the homes abandoned by Pakisthani Hindus, KCR & Co. and its supporting builder mafia want to buy properties of Residual AP people cheaply, or if possible, occupy them.

6.  Govt. of India appointed a common Governor for both the States, to clear the apprehensions in the minds of the people of the Residual A.P.   But the common  Governor proved to be a silent spectator.   Common Governor should have been proactive in preventing these oppressive actions of Telangana Government.  Unfortunately, he is busy visiting temples.  The Central Home Ministry who has to oversee all the arrangements to protect the migrants in Hyderabad does nothing concrete, in action.   That part, we shall take up in a separate blog.

7.  Mr. Gadkari should be able to visualise future.   People from all over India go to Mumbai and try to eke out their livelihood there.  Suppose the Maharashtra Government levy heavy road tax on buses plied by Non-Mumbai operators?  Mr. Gadkari as he is from Maharashtra, he will love it.  But how does Mr. Nitish Kumar, Mr. Shivraj Singh Chauhan, Ms. Vasundhara Raje think of it?

One must have an All India look.  If taxation on buses is a State subject, an exemption can be given to inter-State buses.  Or some other preventive process to reduce oppressive behaviors can be found.    Centre, is already eager to use ordinances, bye-passing the Parliament.  Centre can to start with, issue an immediate ordinance, followed by a bill in the next Session of Parliament.

All India BJP leaders should realise that providing justice is more important than, stabilising BJP in Telangana.

TAIL PIECE

Mr. Gadkari has begged the People of Telangana to elect a BJP Government in next Elections.

Justifying the cruel-vindictive high road tax levied by Telangana Government, stating that Road Tax is a State subject, Mr. Gadkari is trying to win support of Telangana people.

Suppose Gadkari comes to Residual Andhra Pradesh, what will he say?  He will not raise this road tax issue.  He will say that there are strong bonds between Satavahanas of Paithan (Prathishtanapuram in Vidarbha) and Satavahanas of Dhanyakatakam (Dharanikota- Amaravati) AP's new Capital.

In Telugu language, we have a proverb: E roti daggara A pATa pADaTam.  Approx. English meaning:  In old days when there were no rice mills and flour mills, paddy and grain used to be dehusked and pounded with pestles in mortars.  Women used assist one another in the village, either freely as neighbourhood help or work for  labour charges.   Whatever it was, while pounding grain with pestles women used to sing folk songs.  Sometimes, these songs used to differ from one home to another or from one street to another.  Women used to change their songs and tunes wherever they went depending on the houses, streets, localities, castes etc.

Political leaders are very adept in this.  In 2014 General Elections, when Mr. Narendra Modi visited Tirupati and Guntur in Residual Andhra Pradesh, he said that Andhra Pradesh was made orphan by the Congress Government, and promised the voters of Residual A.P., everything under the sky.

390 Will there be time left to bring back the black money stashed abroad?

We have gone to Mumbai to inaugurate an Ambany promoted hospital.  There we found Bollywood stars,  We spent our time chatting and allowing to be selfied with them.  Even if we go back to Delhi, by jet planes we shall be damn tired.  Where will be the time to examine the files relating to problems involved in bringing back the money stashed in tax havens abroad?

People elected us for five years.  But we convince ourselves that we are going to stay in power for another 15 years.

Germany and Switzerland  alone are not the countries, where the black and ill-gotten money of India remains stashed.  There are more than 30 other countries which are adjuncts or dependencies of the European and North American giants like Britain, France, U.S.A.

Many countries including GREAT BRITAIN cannot survive if the black money is repatriated to the concerned countries.

Hence the black money sheltering tax havens, will not under any circumstances allow the funds to be sent back to their mother countries.

They may express their willingness to give names, but they will create all troubles when it comes to remitting back the money to India.

362 For a poor country like India, Bollywood films should not become wayside robberies

Bollywood

Hrithik Roshan's, Katrina Kaif film Bang Bang is said to have amassed Rs. 500 million in just first two days of its release.  Experts believe that, Bang Bang will collect Rs. 1500 million and create a record.

After the advent of computers and multimedia software, films can be produced today with as little as a million Rupees.

Why should Bollywood fellows invest millions of Rupees in making garbage like films and rob poor people of their hard earned daily wages, to recoup investments made?

To continue.
