Do Private Sector Banks in India have horns? It is understandable if Private Sector Companies embrace and encourage Private Sector Banks. But, the same thing cannot be said about Public Sector (Govt. owned) Companies embracing and encouraging Public Sector Banks. Public Sector Companies and Public Sector Banks are supposed to have affinities and synergies. Both the PUblic Sector Companies and the Public Sector Banks can survive only if they stand together and support one another. This Government Insurance Company "New India Assurance Company, Mumbai", largest among the five Govt. Insurance Companies in India, as on date, seems to be allergic to Public Sector Banks. Okay, some PUblic Sector Banks may be villains, lackadaisical and lethargic, and above all UNBUSINESS-LIKE. There are nearly 25 Public Sector Banks in India, with wide demographic and geographical spread. It should not have ordinarily been difficult for the New India Assurance to pick up five Public Sector Banks to handle its IPO (Initial PUblic Offer). Or at least, it could have had a mix of 3:2 i.e. 3 public sector banks and, two private sector banks, or vice versa. Strangely, it selected all the five fellows-- Private Sector Banks.

If Public Sector Banks are not offering New India Assurance, attractive and competitive terms/tariffs, New India Assurance, could have then reported the matter to its Holding Company, and the Government of India, seeking competitive and reasonable terms. Public Sector entities both Banks, and other Corporations, cannot be 100% business-like and socially irresponsible like their Private counter-parts. They have a dual burden of working profitably, and also responsibly. Acting in harmony and cohesion with one another should be an uncompromisable strategy of all Public Sector Units and Undertakings, in whichever industry/service/business they may be engaged. Supervising organisations like Government of India's different Ministries, Reserve Bank of India, Bureau of Public Enterprises, etc. have to continuously monitor this area,of mutual support among public sector units.

Govt. should be transparent to the Board of New India Assurance, about its future, i.e., about whether there are going to be some mergers, if so, likely with whom, on what terms etc. etc. Even if the Govt. of India is reticent, the New India Assurance's Chairman ought to have written an Official letter to the appropriate Govt. Ministry, seeking some information about the Company's future prospects/fate. Secretiveness can lead to the 'Controller' and the 'Controlled' working unintentionally in opposite directions. This will not be a good management practice.

Pakistan's inhuman acts of mutilating bodies of Indian Soldiers

Battles, wars, squabbles and squirmishes take place between countries, and as a part of it, sometimes, unfortunately some soldiers may die on both sides. But mutilating the bodies of slain soldiers is an extremely reprehensible practice which all Nations have to condemn. Pakisthan seems to be ruled by ISIS and Taliban, rather than by a democratically elected Government. Besides, Pakistani Generals and Military Officials seem to exercise undue authority and dominance on their Civil counterparts. In addition, Pakistani Army seems to be infested with from ISIS and Taliban militants, who do not have any scruples about military traditions. Religious Fanatism is blind to everything sane. We should not expect any sort of civil behaviors in such situations.

India should go for more drones, robots, missiles and unmanned aircraft like Lakshya

India cannot continuously afford to sacrifice the noble lives of its brave soldiers. there will also be no use of Prime Minister and Defence Minister, repeatedly expressing dismay and taking lofty pledges and vows. It must find out ways of unmanned, less-manned, attacking and defensive methods using latest equipment, vehicles, and systems.

Posting of Mr. Anil Kumar Singhal as the Executive Officer of TTD (Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam), the largest and the Richest Temple in India

TTD is an All India Temple. Pilgrims visit not only from all parts of India, but also from other parts of the World. It will, therefore, be natural to expect the E.O.of the Temple to know the International Link language English, India's National and Link Language Hindi. Mr. Anil Kumar Singhal fulfills these two needs.

The TTD Shri Venkateswara Temple, situated in South India, is surrounded by the cultures and traditions of the four South Indian languages Telugu, Kannada, Telugu, and Tamil. Among these four languages, Telugu and Kannada have some affinities of vocabulary, grammar, script, and many other practices. Tamil and Malayalam have a similar relationship. It will, therefore, be apt to expect that Mr.Singhal will try to learn at least two of the four languages, one each from Tamil/Malayalam, and Telugu/Kannada. TTD follows Vaikhanasa Agama (scripture of worship methods) method of worship. Mr. Singhal will have to study these AAgamas and try to establish a close working rapport with temple's priests, and their working modes and moods. Managing a Temple, will be totally different from managing other Government Departments and Offices, in administering which it will be sufficient to know law, Management science, and some behavioral methods.

Mr. Singhal to apply his mind to the problem of VIPs, contractors and business persons intruding into the Temple's Systems, claiming special treatment. This is leading to grave injustice to the ordinary pilgrims.

Enriching Contractors or depriving contractors from their due profits cannot be a duty or pastime of a Temple Management. Temple Managements cannot become slaves of contractors, particularly those having political patronage, for earning kickbacks, or promotions.

TTD also seems to have an insatiable urge to entertain donations of 'gold' and 'precious-stones' from its devotees. Accumulation of gold will only divert the attention of the Temple Managements, from their main object of maintaining a 'divine' and 'serine' environment in Temples. Security will become another problem. Employees and Priests themselves, however honest they by nature are, may be tempted to steal gold/precious stones. Cash/gold/precious-stone donations given by persons and Corporates who earn them through corrupt, dubious, illegal means and methods, as Commission /share of booty to God-- the Temple should refuse to accept such tainted donations.

Nations and Societies have to learn from history. We should not forget that Ghazni Mohd. from Turkey invaded India 17 times from 1000 CE to 1017 CE, almost every year, to rob the Somnath Temple at Gujarat. Mohd. Ghori to robbed hundreds of maunds (Maund=100 Troy Pounds) gold and precious stones after vanquishing Prithviraj Chauhan in 1171. Even today, temples and their deities are dug up by unscrupulous persons in search of treasures hidden beneath the idols and phallus-es.

It is a banal cliche / jargon in India to say that 'All are Equal before God'. Along with other Temples in India, TTD's Venkateswara Temple also proves that 'some people are more equal than others'. I believe that in India, even on cremation grounds/ grave yards, we cannot find equality though the Great Medieval Lyricist Annamacharya sang:--

Though the poet has used the name 'SrI Hari' as the name of the Supreme Godhead/ Supreme Soul (para brahmam), any name, including Christian, Islamic, ... ... names could be substituted here. We can give a benefit of doubt to the Great Poet Annamacharya that he did not intend only one ABC God, as the one who treats the Virtuous and Sinners equally. A person of such deep intellectual thinking, cannot NORMALLY / ORDINARILY view from the narrow walls of a particular religion, caste, region, language, inheritance, wealth and thousand other creators of inequalities in this world. This type of literature of Great Equanimity and Balance of Mind, we do not ordinarily find in European languages.

In the coal mines scam, Mr. Manmohan Singh wants a fair trial for him.  कोयला खदान आवंटन घोटाले में श्री मन्मोहन सिंग् निष्पक्ष सुनवाई चाह रहे हें।  బోగ్గు గనుల కేటాయింపు కుంభకోణంలో శ్రీ మన్మోహన్ సింగ్ గారు తనకు న్యాయమైన విచారణ జరగాలని కోరుకుంటున్నారు.

As Prime Minister, and Minister for Coal, why did Mr. Manmohan Singh remove the food of sustenance at the mouth of the Government Company Neyveli Lignite Corporation and fed it to Private Sector Hindujas?  This is a grave injustice.  प्रधान मंत्री और केंद्रीय कोयला मंत्री के पद स्थित श्री मन्मोहन सिंग, सरकारी कंपॆनी नैवेली लिग्नैट् कार्पोरेशन के सामने रखा हुआ खाने को ले जा कर प्रैवेट् सॆक्टार हिंदूजास को क्यों खिलाया ? यह घोर अन्याय है।  ప్రధాన మంత్రి మరియు కేంద్ర బొగ్గు మంత్రి కూడ అయిన శ్రీ మన్మోహన్ సింగ్ గారు, ప్రభుత్వ సంస్థ అయిన నైవేలీ లిగ్నైట్ కార్పోరేషన్ నోటి దగ్గరి ఆహారాన్ని తీసుకెళ్ళి, హిందూజాల చేత బొక్కించటం ఎందుకు చేసినట్లు?  ఇది ఘోర అన్యాయం.

Mr. Manmohan Singh had time to collect doctorates from Oxford, but he had no time to look into what was happening in the Ministry under his own control.  महानू मन्मोहन सिंगजी को आक्सफर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी से डाक्टरेट कलॆकट करने के लिये समय है, लेकिन, अपने प्रत्यक्ष नियंत्रण में रहने वाले कोयला शाखा में क्या हो रहा था, देखने के लिये उन को वखत नहीं है।  శ్రీమాన్ డాక్టర్ మన్మోహన్ సింగ్ గారికి ఆక్స్ఫర్డ్ విశ్వవిద్యాలయం నుండి డాక్టరేట్ కలెక్ట్ చేసుకోటానికి సమయం ఉంది కానీ, తన ప్రత్యక్షనియంత్రణలో ఉన్న బొగ్గు శాఖలో ఏమి జరుగిందో పట్టించుకునే తీరిక లేకపోయింది.  






If Coal Secretary has recommended improperly, PM (also Coal Minister) should have corrected him, asked him to re-convene the meeting of Experts Committee and ascertain their views.  PM should also have also constituted a small group of impartial persons, to examine the justification of removing the coal from the mouth of a Public Sector Company.

The peculiar and at the same time the typical trait of most Indian Prime Ministers right from the days of the first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru is to spend their time in foreign tours, instead of leaving this task to the idle (without work) President and Vice Presidents.  Consequently, domestic administration and governance get neglected.  Ministers and Secretaries get opportunities and scope to act dishonestly or negligently or recklessly.

Prime Ministers should concentrate on internal administration.  They can give near-Prime Minister powers to Foreign Minister.  Foreign Minister can be allowed to get guidance from President, Vice President, or a Senior Dy. Prime Minister.   To summarise, we need drastic administrative reforms.

As far as conviction and punishment for corruption is concerned, investigating agencies and courts will not be justified in taking only a technical view and decide on literal interpretation of statutes and procedures.  A better method is to deeply investigate whether the accused bureaucrats / politicians have accumulated assets disproportionate to the known sources of their income and wealth.  CBI and Enforcement Directorate, will have to dig deeply into whether any kickbacks have been siphoned off into accounts with stealth secret account countries like Switzerland, Isle of Man etc.

ANSWER: Subversion of democratic traditions by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah is not a secret.  When Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi were sidelined, unceremoniously, they did not have the courage to speak out and resign from the Margadarsak Mandal which never met, of which they were made members.
May be because of young age and inexperience, Bora has the courage to resign, notwithstanding the consequences.  Of course, Bora was an alumni of IIM Ahmedabad, some fellow of Yale University (may not be similar to the studies of  our HRD Minister Smriti Irani), he might have thought that he was taking a business-management decision, whereas political survival decisions often needs a person to swallow arrogance.  Even in Corporates, bosses tend to be arrogant, throughout the hierarchial ladder.  Middle and Senior Business level Managers survive by silently receiving insults, and echo them to their subordinates without disclosing the source.

Most bourgeoise parties tend to be Corporate minded parties, with hierarchial ladders, and arrogant bosses. A person who cannot swallow the insults, if he-she is in a business management job, will have to hop jobs, if his qualifications and cv have some glamour, and if he-she is in politics will have to change parties, finally getting an image of turncoat or an ayaram-gayaram.

చాలా బూర్జువా పార్టీలు సహజంగానే కార్పోరేట్ మనస్తత్వం గల పార్టీలు గానే ఉంటాయి. సంస్థాగత నిచ్చెనలు, పాములు ఉంటాయి. అహంకార పూరితులైన బాసులు ఉంటారు. అవమానాలను మింగలేని వ్యక్తులు, మామూలుగా వ్యాపార నిర్వహణ ఉద్యోగాలలో ఉన్న వాళ్ళైతే , వాళ్ళకి గ్లామర్ ఉన్న విద్యార్హతలు, అనుభవం, సీవీలు ఉన్నట్లయితే, ఒక ఉద్యోగంలోంచి మరో ఉద్యోగంలోకి దూకుతూ పోవచ్చు. రాజకీయాలలోనైనా, స్వంత అనుచరులు, విసిరేయటానికి డబ్బులు ఉన్న వాడు, వాటిని తిరిగి సంపాదించుకుకునే శక్తి ఉన్నవాడు, ఒక పార్టీలోంచి మరొక పార్టీలోకి దూకుతూ పోవచ్చు. చివరికి ఆయారాం గయారాంగా మారవలసి కూడ రావచ్చు. కెసీఆర్ లాగా ప్రాంతీయ ఉద్రేకాలను రెచ్చగొట్టో, మమతా బెనర్జీలాగా మసిపూసి మారేడు కాయలను చేసో, మాయావతి, మూలాయం యాదవ్, రాంబిలాస్ పశ్వాన్ వంటి వారిలాగా కులాన్ని ఆశ్రయించుకునో వైభవోపేతులు కావచ్చు. ఏది ఏమైనా ప్రద్యోత్ బోరా ధైర్యం అభినందనీయం. ఎంతమేరకు విజయం సాధిస్తాడో చూడాలి.

It can never be. Our President of India, has transferred the Maharashtra Governor to Mizoram. Even assuming that Mr. Sankaranarayanan's performance is not satisfactory, he cannot be transferred to Mizoram, simply because Mizoram is not a dust bin to trash Governors. Mizoram is a State which deserves due respect on par with Maharashtra. Dumping Shankarnarayanan on Mizoram will be insulting that State.

Mr. Narendra Modi said that India will gain if North East gains. By dumping Shankaranarayanan in Mizoram, how North East will gain? నరేంద్ర మోడీ గారే అన్నారు, ఈశాన్య భారత్ లాభ పడితేనే, భారత్ లాభపడుతుందని. మహారాష్ట్రకి జంక్ గా కనపడిన శంకరనారాయణ గారిని మిజోరామ్ లో పారేస్తే, ఈశాన్య భారత్ ఎలా లాభపడుతుంది? नरेंद्र मोडीजी ही बोला: अगर ईशान्य भारत को लाभ मिले, सारे भारत को लाभ मिलेगा। महाराष्ट्र के जंक शंकरनारायणन को मिजोरां मे गिरावट करने से मिजोराम या ईशान्य भारत को फायिदा कैसा पहुँचेगा?

केंद्र सरकार, पिछले महीने में गुजरात राज्यपाल को मिजोराम मे गिरावट किये। वहा से उस को मकान भेजे। अभी शंकरनारायणन को गिरावट कर रहे है। आगे क्या? हाहा!! सुशासन!! Central Government, few months back, dumped the Gujarat Governor in Mizoram. From there, she was sent home. Now, they are dumping Sankarnarayanan. Haha!! प्रस्तुत मोडी सरकारी भी यू एस ए, चैना, इज्रेल, ब्रिटन, फ्रान्स, इटली आदी सर्कारों से रक्षा उत्पत्तियों को खरीदने के लिये दबाव में पड सकते है। रक्षा आयात को रुकना इतना आसान नहीं है। अगर सरकार को, सही तरगती रक्षा सामग्री विकास करने के लिये चित्त शुध्धि, नेकनीयती है तो, वह पहले सैन्याधिपति और डीआरडीवो विकासाधिपति मध्यगत टुटा हुआ पूल को फिर से बांधना पडता। There is also a grave risk of the present Modi Govt. also falling in the trap of pressures from the Govts. of U.S.A., China, Israel, Britain, France, Italy etc. It is not so easy to stop the imports of defence equipment, weapons and aircraft. Arrows and darts which have pierced into the body, can be with some dexterity, taken out and the body healed. But, petulant words which have pierced into brain, heart, and mind cannot be removed in spite of employing numerous methods.

Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, is as per his declaration to the Election Commission, a Post Graduate in Political Science (M.A. Politics). ప్రధానమంత్రి శ్రీ నరేంద్ర మోడీ గారు, ఎన్నికల కమీషన్ కి సమర్పించిన ప్రకటన ప్రకారం, రాజనీతి శాస్త్రంలో స్నాతకోత్తర పట్టభద్రుడు. प्रधान मंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोडी महोदय, उन से चुनाव आयोग से दिये हुए घोषणा पत् के अनुसार, राजनीति शास्त्र में स्नातकोत्तर पट्ट भद्र है।

What is the benefit of studying these courses? ఈ కోర్సులను చదవటం వల్ల లాభమేమి? इन पाठ्य क्रमों को पढने से, सीखने से फायिदा क्या मिलेगा?

One argument: Why should rulers study these courses? These courses are intended for business persons and Corporate Managers. They are not necessary for bureaucrats, M.L.A.s, M.P.s., and Ministers. ఒక వాదన: పాలకులు ఈకోర్సులను ఎందుకు చదవాలి? ఈ కోర్సులు వ్యాపారాల నిర్వాహకులకు ఉద్దేశించినవి, కార్పోరేట్ మేనేజర్లకు ఉద్దేశించినవి. అవి మన బ్యూరో క్రాట్లకు, శాసన సభ్యులకు, ఎంపీలకు, మంత్రులకు అవసరం లేదు. एक बहस: हमारे शासक लोग इन पाठ्य क्रमों को क्यों पढना, सीखना? इन पाठ्य क्रम वाणिज्य वेत्ता, कार्पोरेट मेनेजर्स के लिये उद्दिष्ठ हैँ। हमारे ब्यूरोक्राट्स, संसद, मंत्रीयों को इन पाठ्य क्रमों के जरूरत नहीं हैँ।

इस तर्क उचित नहीं है। ఈ వాదన సముచితమైనది కాదు. This argument is not reasonable or supportable.

Management science, and the principles of Management are necessary not only for business houses, but also for Courts, individuals, families, Governments, Institutions, Organisations, Societies, and everybody else. నిర్వహణా శాస్త్రం, మరియు నిర్వహణా సూత్రాలు అనేవి కేవలం వ్యాపారసంస్థలకే కాదు, న్యాయస్థానాలకు, వ్యక్తులకు, కుటుంబాలకు, సంస్థలకు,సంఘాలకు,మరియు ప్రతివారికీ కూడ అవసరమే. प्रबंध-विञान, और प्रबंध विञान के सूत्र, सिर्फ व्यापारिक घरानों के लिये नहीं, और भी अदालतें, व्यक्ति, कुटुम्ब, सरकारों, संस्थाए, समाजों और सभी लोगों को आवश्यक हैं।

यह मुख्य विषय हम हमेशा ध्यान में रखना चाहिए कि: प्रबंधक लोग बिना जानकारी से भी प्रबंध विज्ञान के सूत्रों को इस्तेमाले कर सकते, करते रहते है। प्रबंध सूत्रों को लागू करने के लिये प्रबंध विज्ञान या ऎम् बी ए पढने का जरूरत नहीं है। परन्तु ज्ञान से काम करना और अपने भाग्य पर भरोसा रख कर काम करने में बहुत फरक रहता है। We should always keep in mind that people can apply management principles, without knowing that they are applying management principles. They will be doing it quite often, unconsciously. There is no need to study Management Science or principles of Management or MBA, for applying the Principles of Management unconsciously. మనం మర్చిపోకూడని ఒక విషయం ఏమిటంటే, నిర్వాహకులు తమకు తెలియకుండానే, నిర్వహణా శాస్త్ర సూత్రాలను అమలు చేస్తూ ఉండవచ్చును. చేస్తూ ఉంటారు కూడాను. నిర్వహణా శాస్త్ర సూత్రాలను తమకు తెలియకుండానే అమలు చేయటానికి నిర్వహణా శాస్త్రాన్ని గానీ, ఆశాస్త్ర సూత్రాలను గానీ అధ్యయనం చేయవలసిన అవసరం గానీ, ఎంబీఏ చదవాల్సిన అవసరం లేదు.

అయితే నిర్వహణా శాస్త్రాన్ని చదవని వారికి, ఆశాస్త్రంలో ఉన్న సూత్రాలను గురించి తెలియక పోటం వల్ల, తాము చేసే నిర్ణయాల కొన్ని ముందు వెనుకలను (ప్రాస్ అండ్ కాన్స్) గురించిన సమాచార లోపం ఉండే అవకాశం ఉంది. मगर, जिन लोग प्रबंध-विज्ञान को नहीँ पढे, जिनको पढने के दिल चस्पी नहीं है, उनको अपने से बनने वाले निर्णयो के बारे में समाचार लोप होने का खतरा रहेगा । But for those who have not read the Management Science, there will be a risk of their not knowing the Management Principles, and consequently, they may face a danger of taking decisions on the basis of inadequate information or analyses of the surrounding circumstances.
