I have written a number of times at this blog itself, that Telugu (& of course Sanskrit, and many other Indian Languages) language has a Verse Literature (particularly Complicated Metered Telugu Poetry), richer than the Verse Literatures of many other European Languages. Again, to illustrate it, I am giving here, some Telugu verses. I shall, shortly add Roman Script and dEvanAgari lines to the Telugu Script lines. I shall also add approx. English Gist of every verse, together with ybrao-a-donkey's personal observations. Subject chosen is "venDruka" (also spelt as venTruka singular, venTrukalu plural) = hair. Hair, in Telugu language, has several synonyms such as 'juTTu (T is retroflex in this pronunciation), juttu, bocchu' both of which are native words. Boccu has somewhat a negative meaning and considered as obscene/vulgar. There is another word called 'Atulu' which refers to pubal hair, and is considered as hard porno or soft porno. I shall deal with 'Atulu' in a separate blog post. Then we have, nearly a number of Sanskrit born words such as 'SirOjamu, kESamu....". Those words also I have not touched. 1. క. ఖరములఁ బుూనిన రథమున
విరిసిన వెండ్రుకలు వెంట వ్రేలఁగ దశకం
ధరుఁడు బహుళతైలాప్లుత
శరీరుఁడై దక్షిణంబు సనఁ గలఁ గంటిన్.

This verse though pertains to the story of Valmiki Ramayana, we can also find the story of Ramayana, both in Vyasa Bharatam and vyasa Bhagavatam. This verse is from Mahabharata. Volume 3, called Book of Forests, "AraNya Parvam". During the Forest Exile Period, Pandavas were depressed. Melancholistic YudhishThira was told the Story of Ramayana by Sage .... Here the Sage wanted to impress YudhishThira that his suffering was less rigorous, when compared to the Forest Exile of Shri Rama. Rama's hardships were more severe.
This verse has another special value. Most Indians believe that Ravana's Pushpaka Aircraft is not only airborne but also more spacious and capable than the modern Boeing Aircraft, or Air Buses. I have already reproduced here the Valmiki Ramayan Sanskrit verse which showed that Ravana came and abducted Sita in a Chariot pulled by Donkeys with gold ornaments. Post No. ....
Now, the above Ramayana-in-Mahabharata verse, first line says "kharamula pUnina rathamuna". English: In a chariot, pulled by Donkeys'. This verse describes how Forest Dwellers (vAnaraA) saw the Ten-headed Ravana abducted Sita, going in a Southward direction.

దొలుతగాఁ బోరిలో, దుస్ససేను

యలుపాలఁ బొనుపడునట్టి చిచ్చే యిది
పెనుగద వట్టిన భీమసేను
బాహుబలంబునుఁ బాటించి గాండీవ
మను నొక విల్లెప్పుడును వహించు

Context and Gist: The Protagonist of Mahabharata- Draupadi, is speaking to Lord Krishna, and her five husbands. Occasion is: Krishna is preparing to go to Kaurava Court, seeking back the PanDava Kingdom, which was lost in a Deceitful Wager of Dice with Shakuni. Now in the present Scene, Yudhishthira and Bhima asked Lord Krishna to try for Truce. They did not want blood-shed. They were prepared to accept even five villages for the five Pandava brothers. But, Draupadi, who bore all the insults in the Dhritarashtra's Court during her disrobing attempt by Duhsasana is not prepared to accept truce. She is lamenting and wondering:
Draupadi is recalling the past events in the Court of Dhritarashtra, where Duryodhana's younger brother tried to derobe her, dragging her catching hold of her hair, after Pandavas were defeated in the Game of Dice. At that moment, Draupadi made a pledge that she would not re-braid her hair till Duhsasana is killed, and blood from his slain injured body is applied to her. She is lamenting and wailing, saying: "Let Duhsasana be slain in War. And his body be splintered into pieces and thrown all over the battlefield. Then only, my 'heat of anger and resentment' (Telugu: uDuku) will subside. (If a truce is worked out) what will happen to the big mace of Bhima, and to the Great Bow 'gAnDIva' of Arjuna, and their valors.
