Corporate Hospitals in India, like their counterparts in United States and Europe, ANZ, and SE Asia, appear to be on an advertising spree, spending millions, while most hospitals do not worry about matching their performances with claims made in advertisements. Most hospitals in India, do not hesitate to stop/withhold delivery of dead bodies, when their relatives become very poor after days/months of treatment in hospitals, paying, often in advance, huge amounts as fees and charges. I am not referring these problems to any Hospital in particular. It is a common ailment, affecting Indian Hospitals.
There is a prayer to medical doctors, =a Sanskrit verse, author unknown, which compares medical doctors (vaidya) with the God of Death (yama), and says that a medical doctor is more powerful, than the God of Death. While the God of Death takes away only the lives of patients, -- doctors and hospitals knock away both the lives and the money of the patients.

Jayalalithaa and Tamil Nadu Government spent people's money of approx. Rs. 400 million (Rs. 40 crore) on her treatment at Apollo Hospital. The Chairman of the Apollo Hospital Group admitted that they could not predict the cardiac arrest of Ms. Jayalalitha, in spite of having cordiologists 24x7 beside her bed. Why? If it is not the failure of Apollo Hospital, it must be the failure of the Modern Medical System!
In the above advertisement 19th Jan. 2017, (after 45 days approx. of the death of Ms. Jayalalithaa), the Apollo Hospital is claiming:
a) Consultant Cardiologists available 24 x 7.
b) World's largest cardiac preventive check up program
c) World Class Cardiac Emergency Care.
WHY DID THE WORLD'S LARGEST CARDIAC PREVENTIVE CHECK UP PROGRAM, FAIL TO PREVENT THE CARDIAC ARREST OF JAYALALITHAA?
This question will have to be answered by the Chairman, Apollo Hospital. Why the World Class Cardiac Emergency Care could not come to the rescue of Jayalalithaa?
