English gist: Those who contest elections, have to furnish in the nomination forms, the names of their spouses, details of properties standing in their names etc. Shri Narendra Modi, while contesting the 2012 Gujarat Assembly Elections has left the spouse (=wife/husband) and assets columns blank.

ENGLISH GIST: If he writes that he was married, then he would have had to mention wife's name (Ms. Jasoda Ben). He has to write details of her property. This is not possible because they do not seem to be living together (cohabiting). If she has some properties, they may be her own self-acquired or gifted by her parents. Taking these facts into account, Mr. Modi might have come to a decision that it was not necessary to disclose her assets.

English: An example can clarify. In the eyes of law, Mr. Manmohan Singh is our de jurie Prime Minister. Ms. Sonia Gandhi is our de facto Prime Minister.

నైతికంగా మోడీగారు ఆ ఫారాలను పూర్తి చేసి ఉండవలసిన పధ్ధతి Ethically proper manner of filling up those forms

నేను వివాహితుడననే. చట్టప్రకారం నాభార్యపేరు ఫలానా. నేను, ఆమె వాస్తవానికి విడివిడిగా ఉంటున్నాము. ఆమె ఆస్తులకు నా ఆస్తులకు సంబంధం లేదు. ఆమె, నేను చట్టప్రకారం విడాకులు పొందే విషయాన్ని తగిన సమయంలో తగిన విధంగా పరిష్కరించుకుంటాము. ఈలోగా దయయుంచి నా నామినేషన్ ను ఆమోదించ వలసినది.

I am married. My spouse's name is so and so. But factually, we are living separately. There is no connection between her assets and liabilities, and my assets and liabilities. We shall take up the question of legal separation, an an appropriate time. In the meantime, kindly accept my nomination.

English Gist: The Returning Officer of the Constituency, and the CEO of the State, had they followed this method of obtaining factual explanation from Mr. Modi and accepted his nomination, they would have done justice.

Approximate English gist: Iit will be appropriate if Shri Narendra Modi can follow this method/procedure while filing the nominations for the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. It will not be proper to leave the spouse name and her assets columns blank. Ms. Jasoda Ben seems to be continuing to adore her husband. (It will be a different thing, if she is showing that adoration towards her husband out of some expectations, apprehensions, frustrations, or oldage etc.). If Shri Modi still have some love and sympathies left and continuing withing himself, towards his seemingly estranged wife, he can probably contact her, take her consent and show her as his spouse and declare her assets and liabilities in the nomination form. This will be reinstating our ancient bhAratIya culture. It will also correct past errors and clear past misunderstandings, if any. Shri Modi can then join our greats like Sri Rama, Dushyanta et al.
