According to the news from The Hindu and the Huffington Post, the Regional Passport Officer, Gujarat rejected a Passport Application submitted by Ms. Jashoda Ben, w/o Shri Narendra Modi our Honorable and Highly respected and Trusted Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, on the ground that she has not submitted Marriage Certificate or a Joint Affidavit with Husband.
It is not clear why Indian Newspapers or TV channels or popular websites have not reported this important news. यह स्पष्ट नहीं है कि, क्यों भारतीय अखबार, टीवी छानॆल्स, या जनदरित वॆब सैट्स इस मुख्य समाचार को नहीं छापा या प्रचुरण किया। ఇంత ముఖ్యమైన వార్తను భారతీయ పత్రికలు, లేక టీ వీ ఛానెల్స్ లేక ప్రజాదరణ పొందిన భారతీయ వెబ్ సైట్లు ఇంత ముఖ్యమైన వార్తను ఎందుకు ప్రచురించలేదో స్పష్టంగా తెలియటం లేదు. గొప్ప దమ్మున్న తెలుగు దినపత్రికలు కూడ ఈ వార్తను ప్రచురించినట్లగా కనపడదు. అలా జరిగి ఉంటే, పాఠకులు ఏ తెలుగు పత్రికవారు ప్రచురించారో, ఆసమాచారాన్ని కామెంట్లలో వ్రాసి ప్రజలకు మేలు చేయాలి.

Mrs. Jashoda Ben is reported to have applied for a passport to abroad for meeting "family friends and relatives".

• 1. Our Passport laws and rules appear to be outdated. They seem to pertain to IkshvAku period or MAndhAta period. हमारे पासपोर्ट कानून और नियम निबंधन बहुत पुरातन (मांधात चक्रवर्ति काल के) दिख रहे हैं। మన పాస్ పోర్టు చట్టాలూ నిబంధనలు కాలం చెల్లినవి లాగా , మాంధాతల కాలం నాటివి లాగా కనిపిస్తున్నాయి.

• 2. In respect of married persons, if there are sufficient reasons for the Passport Officer to foresee that the applicant's spouse may object to the issue of passport and foreign visit of the married partner, the Passport Officer ought to have issued a Public Notice on the Notice Board of its Office, and if necessary through a Newspaper advertisement inviting objections, or he could have sent a letter by Speed Post to the applicant's spouse. Whether the objections given by spouse will be strong and valid enough to deny passport to the applicant, is a question of law which may be initially decided by the Passport Officer and subsequently decided by appropriate courts.

• 3. Earlier a Police Superintendent of Mehsana rejected an RTI application of Ms. Jashoda Ben. Now, the Regional Passport Officer has rejected the Passport Application. • 5. Even an ordinary Police Superintendent's Bungalows at District Headquarters in India are guarded by around 50/60 Armed Guards. An MLA in Andhra Pradesh gets a dozen armed guard security , each, in 3 shifts of the day. How is it that a PM's wife is given a neglible security of just 4 guards and that too she and her sister has to cook for them and arrange beds for them. • 6. According to news reports, during his Bihar election speeches, Shri Narendra Modi Mahoday called Ms. Misa Kumari, the daughter of Shri Lalu Prasad Yadav, a bechari (a poor, helpless girl). In my humble donkey's view, Ms. Jashoda Ben appears to be a bechAri and not Ms. Misa Kumari. లభిస్తున్న వార్తల ప్రకారం, శ్రీ నరేంద్రమోడీ వారు, బీహార్ ఎన్నికల ప్రచారంలో లాలూ ప్రసాద్ యాదవ్ గారి పుత్రిక మీసా కుమారిని బేచారీ (నిస్సహాయురాలు, పేద poor) అన్నారు. నా గాడిద బుధ్ధికి నిస్సహాయురాలు శ్రీమతి జశోదా బెన్ లాగా కనిపిస్తుంది తప్ప , లాలూ పుత్రిక బేచారీ లాగా కనిపించటం లేదు.

• 7. According to new reports, media persons are STRICTLY not being allowed to meet Ms. Jashoda Ben. Then, how will she express herself freely, even if she wants to? It may not be correct, but still there is a possibility that people may get an impression, that she is under house arrest. అందుతున్న సమాచారాన్ని బట్టి మీడియా వారిని సుశ్రీ జశోదా బెన్ గారిని కలవటానికి ఏమాత్రమూ అనుమతించటం లేదు. ఆమె ప్రైవెసీ ని రక్షించటం మంచిదే. కానీ ఈ ఆర్ టీ ఐ అప్లికేషన్ తిరస్కరణ, ఈ పాస్ పోర్టు నిరాకరణ , మీడియాను ఆమె దరికి చేరకుండా చూడటం, ఇవన్నీ మనకు ఏమి సూచనలు ఇస్తున్నాయి. నిజం కాకపోవచ్చు, బర్మాలో అంగ్ సాన్ సూకీ గారిలాగా, ఆమె గృహనిర్బంధంలో ఉన్నదా అనే అనుమానం కలుగదా.
• 8. If Ms. Jashoda Ben goes abroad, it may be difficult to prevent her from meeting Western Media persons. Western Media Persons are not docile like Indian Media persons. సుశ్రీ జెశోదా బెన్ గారిని విదేశాలకు వెళ్ళనిస్తే, ఆమెను మీడియా రిపోర్టర్లను కలవకుండా కాపాడటం, ఆమెను ఫొటోలు తీయకుండా రక్షించటం చాల కష్టమవుతుంది. పాశ్చాత్య మీడియా రిపోర్టర్లు భారతీయ మీడియా రిపోర్టర్ల వలె సాధుజంతువులు కారు.
• People are responding very fast to relatively unimportant stimulii and triggers. But it is not clear, why our Great MPs, Media, Cultural Organisations, Feminists, fail to respond when an innocent woman like Ms. Jashoda Ben is in difficulties, for no fault of hers. చాల చిన్న చిన్న విషయాలకు కూడ ప్రజలు స్పందించటాన్ని మనం గమనించ వచ్చు. కానీ, ఎందుకో, సుశ్రీ జశోదా బెన్ వంటి నారీ రత్నానికి కలుగుతున్న కష్టాలకు ఎవరూ ఎందుకో స్పందించటం లేదు. అహో, బతా!!!
• Suggestion: It will be in fitness of things, that Hon. Narendra Modi signs a joint Affidavit with Ms. Jashoda Ben, and help her to get a passport, to go abroad to meet her family relatives et al. When matters go online, all issues become transparent and the key objective of RTI is to bring transparency in governance…Maximum online, maximum transparency. There is no need for maintaining secrecy in administrative work. Those days are gone.

If we limit RTI just to reply to questions, there will be no changes in governance. We have to analyse the RTI questions and ponder whether there is need to make changes in policy matters

The problems of Ms. Jashoda Ben might not have gone to the notice of our abhinava Ramachandra, Shri Narendra Modi- our beloved Prime Minister. According to the information on internet, she and her sister-in-law seem to be having some trouble in cooking food and arranging beds for the security guards provided to her as PM's wife, as a part of security to PM's spouse. Mr. Jashoda Ben is aged > 60, retired. It will not be reasonable to burden her with the chores of cooking for the Armed Guards. PMO , or the CMO of Gujarat owes a duty to take special interest in providing some hostel /dormitary/kitchen facilities to her security guards, if necessary by laying tents or hiring nearby houses. Even prisoners in Central Jails are not asked to cook for the Guards. There seems to be some communication gap among the PMO, HOme Ministry, State Government, and the District Police. It is necessary to investigate about , who is causing her hardships, intended or unintended, may be out of neglect, willful or inadvertant or bureaucratic.

So far so good, then what is the need for her to file a an RTI appeal against the rejection of her application by Mehsana Police Authorities? The Government of Gujarat, and the Government of INdia are to be transparent about the whole affair.

DIFFERENCE BETWEEN MAINTAINING SAFE DISTANCE AND LONG LONG DISTANCE
NOt as PM's estranged wife, even as an ordinary citizen of INdia, as a "bhArat nAri" (India trumpets the slogan: Yatra Naryastu Pujyante, Ramante Tatra Devata. Where women are worshipped and honored, there Gods will be happy), she is entitled to a better treatment than she is getting now, though Mr. Narendra Modi, as a very very honest PM may like to keep his parents, brothers, wife, and in-laws AT A FAR AWAY DISTANCE from the seats of power. There is difference between giving due respect relatives, and making them back-seat drivers by bringing them into corridors of power enabling them to become de facto surrogate rulers. Mr. Modi need not do the second thing, which all the leaders of other parties such as Nehru Dynasty, Mulayam Dynasty, Lalu Dynasty, Pawar Dynasty, Abdullah Dynasty, Sangma Dynasty, NTR Dynasty, Deve Gowda Dynasty, Biju Patnaik Dynasty, Karunanidhi Dynasty, have done and are doing. This is one extreme. But, Mr. Modi need not go to the other extreme of neglecting his own kith and kin. For all the sufferings Ms. Jashoda Ben has undergone, is undergoing, she deserves a Bharat Ratna (Using the award figuratively, not literally).

Some evil-minded persons might have doubted the genuineness of the PG Degree of Shri Narendra Modi- our beloved Prime Minister and might have applied to PMO under RTI Act. for details of his degree, and the PMO rejected it. Then the trouble-creators went to the Election Commission, hoping for some broadminded-generosity. EC too rejected the rti application. Thereafter another group went to Gujarat University for details of the Post Graduates who completed their M.A. degrees, during the periods conciding with Mr. Narendra Modi's studies (as they were probably apprehensive that if information is asked in PM's name, as it might have been taken as some antagonism against the Government or the Ruling Party, and might have rejected). There also, Gujarat University didn't find it convenient to disclose details. Alas, this is a simple thing, citizens knowing to desire about the great academic achievements of PM is quite understandable, and why the PMO, Election Commission, Gujarat University everybody have turned a blind eye and a deaf ear to it. By giving the info, they could have straight away erased doubts in the minds of doubting thomases (in Telugu "nitya Sankitulu") who are "duhkha bhAgulu" (English: Shares in miseries). So-much-so for the transparency being loftily pronounced and preached from pulpits of anniversaries. Hats-off to the hypocrisy of the Govt. of India and the Ruling Party. సశేషం. contd... सशेष.
