1070 Temples and accumulations of gold

There seems to be an impression among some of my readers that I am not sufficiently criticising Mr. Nara Chandrababu Naidu, the 2014-18 Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh. The particular context in which this Criticism has arisen is, about the allegations made by Mr. Ramana Deekshitulu, Former Chief Priest of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam about the loss of a diamond called "Pink Diamond", which according to him, was transported abroad, and sold in a foreign auction a few months back, for a very fabulous price, and about his allegations of digging the Temple Kitchen for stealing Centuries old Temple Treasures of gold ornaments which might have been stored underground. The Government of Andhra Pradesh has already phoo-phooed the allegations made by the Former Chief Priest of the Temple.

This allegation has met with an explanation that the Ornaments presented by Sri Krishna Devaraya were lost at times unknown, but definitely prior to 1953 or prior to India's Freedom in 1947.

This blog does not aim to purposefully praise/criticise anybody or any Organisation including Mr. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, Mr. Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, Chief Minister of Residual Andhra pradesh, or Mr. K. Chandrasekhara Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana State or anybody else. I neither benefit/lose by writing about them.

Prima facie, it seems that Mr. Vijaya Sayi Reddy appears to be making a baseless allegation. He is not an ordinary guy. He is a Rajya Sabha Member, i.e. an "Elder". As a Rajya Sabha Member he ought not to have done that. Anyway, since an Hon. Rejya Sabha Member has made an allegation, Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu ought to have requested by A MOST EXPEDITIOUS MODE OF COMMUNICATION AVAILABLE TO HIM AT CHIEF MINISTER'S OFFICE, and asked the Center to Order a CBI Investigation. On behalf of State Government, he ought to have sent a similar message to CBI direct, with a request to raid/search his house immediately. With that, the responsibility of Mr. Naidu would have ended. After Mr. Naidu comes out unhurt, appropriate action ought to have been taken against Mr. Vijayasayi Reddy, i.e. "Law can it take its own course". Instead, Mr. Naidu preferred to allow his Party Members to threaten Mr. Vijaya Sayi Reddy, that legal action will be initiated against him. But that does not cleanse Mr. Naidu of the rubbish which Mr. Reddy threw on him.

Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy,and Mr. Vijaya Sayi Reddy themselves are facing CBI Court Trials for Quid Pro Quo corruption. For them to make baseless allegations against others, will be like 'throwing stones from a glasshouse'.

Here we should refer to a quote said to have been made by Late Winston Churchill, Former Prime Minister of U.K., about Indian Politicians:

It is not possible to say whether Jagan is better or Pavan is better. It will be like chosing between "Devil and Deep Sea".

One way: Indian Leaders and Rulers of 21st Century cannot lag behind their Ancient and Medieval Counterparts. Lord Krishna had eight dharma patnis (those who sit beside husband in religious rituals) and 16,000 + 16,000 patnis (married wives). Dasaratha had 3 dhrmapatnis, 350 wives, and unknown number of concubines. There is ambiguity in Valmiki Ramayana about polygamy of Lord Shri Rama. Hence gets benefit of doubt, and is considered as 'Eka patnivrata'. Vijayanagara King Devaraya II had thousands of wives. Akbar had thousands of wives. Nizams had thousands of wives. Even the beloved Telugu Emperor Shri Krishna Deva Rayalu of 16th Century had number of wives. And all these Leaders are greatly revered. Polygamy is not a disqualification for them. But, then in those days, Wives were personal properties who can even be wagered in games of dice. Kingdoms were personal properties which can be lost in bets by gambler kings like Yudhishthira, Nala.

Today, wives may or may not be personal properties. Where wives are rich, have their own means of living, some physical attractive body/beauty, they may not like to be personal properties. A similar situation may not exist in case of poor women who suffer in the hands of philandering husbands. A rich husband can easily dispose of a rich wife, with a mutually acceptable formula of maintenance, wealth sharing, providing inheritance to offspring(s) etc. Need to get pecuniary benefits-- both present and future may also restrain separating wives from speaking out '(complete?) truths'. They may be delivering out truths in instalments.

Question: How many wives a person can have, is a personal matter. How can it be a qualification or disqualification for a politician?
