1035 What for is collyrium / kohl (kATuka - kAjal), when there is no food to belly-stomach (kaDupu)? What for is 'immortality' when People eke out a precarious existence of semi-starvation?

For the benefit of those who do not know about 'Telugu Language' or 'Telugu Indians':-- Telugu is a language mainly spoken in India, and also all over the World, by about 100 million People. Its ancient and Medieval Literature, I believe will be more in quantity and quality, than the English Literature or French Literature or Literature of any other European Language. The State of Telangana, in India, has a few days back completed a four day jamboree called "World Telugu Conference" (WTC. We should not confuse ourselves with World Trade Center of the same Abbreviation). Though it is titled "World Telugu Conference", the Telangana's Virtual Sultan, his Two Princes, One Princess, have not invited the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh State, which has more number of People who have Telugu as Mother Tongue. Not that, Mr. Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh would have come, even if invited, because the two leaders have a peculiar relationship of two cats fighting for the same piece of flat pancake. Strangely, the WTC and Shri Chandra Sekhara Rao have also forgot even to mention about Late Shri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao, who made some semblances of fighting for the Self-Respect of Telugu People. In his moments of self-aggrandizement, Shri Chandrasekhara Rao, seems to have forgotten not only about the political Role of Late Shri N.T. Rama Rao, as the Former Chief Minister of United Andhra Pradesh, but also his Contribution as Hero of several Mythological films depicting Lord Rama, Krishna, Vishnu, Shiva, Ravana, Duryodhana, Arjuna, Brihannala, Bhima, and historical characters like Shri Krishna Deva Rayalu, Warrior of Bobbili, Warrior of Palnadu etc., which has nothing to do Politics.

What could have been the total expenditure incurred on the World Telugu Conference jamboree?

I estimate it at Rs. 2,000 crore (Rs. 20 billion or about $300 million!). If my estimate is excessive, Shri Chandrasekhara Rao, can always release a White Paper, and also place all the details on the Telangana Government's Website.

Did the Poor People of Telangana ask for a World Telugu Conference? Whose pockets will the WTC Bills fill? Ans: Some TRS Leaders who might have taken the Contracts.

This verse has a story behind. A poor Brahmin went to a Kali Temple, and did penance praying Goddess Kali. When the Goddess appeared before the Brahmin, he forgot the prime purpose of his penance and his approaching the Goddess. When she asked him to chose a boon, he asked her for 'immortality'. The Goddess gave the Brahmin a fruit, and told him, by eating it he and his family will attain immortality. The Brahmin went to his cottage, gave it to his wife, and explained to her that they could attain immortality by eating the fruit. Wife was agitated and irritated, because she was anxious and afflicted with anguish about hunger and poverty. She was not worried about immortality. The above verse is the reply she gave to her husband: What for is immortality, for the Sufferer of Poverty, with no food for the belly, and those who are eking out an existence of semi-starvation. When the stomach is burning with hunger, what for is collyrium (Hindi: surma. Telugu: kATuka), for eyes?. The wife is very clear about her first priority.

One bitter Truth: Some people have compared Shri KCR to Shrikrishna Deva Rayalu, the first half 16th Century Vijayanagara King-Emperor-Ruler.

Very few People know that Vizianagara Kings thrived by encouraging prostitution. According to one school of history, i am not sure, how far it is correct, Vizianagara Kings had about 12,000 soldiers. The Kingdom was paying their salaries, by using taxes collected from about 12,000 Prostitutes in the Kingdom.

Now, our 21st Century Modern Krishna Deva Rayalu-s (KCR in Telangana and Chandra Babu Naidu in Residual Andhra Pradesh) are thriving by encouraging Pubs, Bars, etc. etc. what not? in the name of Tourism. Our Honourable President of India Shri Kovind praises them immensely.
