794 (Part 2) Observations on Sudras-Abhiras-Saraswati River, Krishna Pushkarams, American Elections

This is in continuation of our blog-post No. 793. Click to study 793 at this blog . In response to this blog post, a friend of ours has sent us through email two links which contain some study material about River Saraswati, and the Indus-Sutlej River Systems. Interested Readers can visit these websites and appreciate (or depreciate) what the IISC (Indian Institute of Science) has to say about the River Sarasvati. From my side, I can only say that all the Research Institutions in India, whether in NGO Sector or Public Sector, flourishing on grants / budget allocations from Government of India / Governments of concerned State Governments, are susceptible to pressures from the Patronising Govt. Departments. Their research tends to be skewed to nourish the beliefs of their political mentors. Whenever power changes in the Patronising Seats of Government, the beneficiary Research Institutions have to change their Research directions, trajectories, and magnitudes.

1. I have no dispute about the historical existence of the Sarasvati River, and the Indian State in which it flowed. That can much be left to the Indian Institute of Science or the IIHR or any other Institution. I do not have any grouse about the dredging of Thar Desert sands or any other sands in Rajasthan, Gujarat, Hariyana or anywhere else, as long as such dredging leads to discovery of new water resources for drinking and cultivation. Of course, there is a need to minimise expenses. There is also a need to use as many scientific implements and tools as possible to detect the water flows, rather than gazing in darkness with superstitious stories, taught by our epic/scripture discourse-preachers.

2. My grievance is about the ill-treatment given to the Sudras (fourth caste in ancient and medieval India) and the Abhiras (a tribe in North West India), in the Mahabharata. The Priests of the Epic / Scripture Evolution days tried to incorporate their own scorn and wrath against the SUdras and the AbhIrAs, into the Mahabharata Epic. Not only did they incorporate, but they have also attributed the disappearance of a River to her DISLIKE of the SUdrAs and AbhIrAs.

3. The problem with Astrologers, Scripture/Epic discoursers, vAstu (architectural-astrology) experts, SwamIjIs (monks dressed on ochre robes), Temple Priests is, they very often try to link irrlevant and unconnected things with one another, and impose their own personal beliefs on the gullible (both educated and uneducated) people of India.

Example: There is a Swamiji in Visakhapatnam, who is a self-proclaimed pITHAdhipati (Head of a Worship Locale). He said that if the king of a country suffers from psoriasis (bolli ailment in Telugu), evil things will happen to that State. He declared that as the Chief Minister of Residual Andhra Pradesh suffers from psoriasis (no proof, a belief for the Chief Minister's ailment), Andhra Pradesh will suffer evil things. The Chief Minister seems to have ignored the observation of the Monk. Of course, the CM has his own set of astrologers to guide him. The same monk seems to have advised the Opposition Leader and the YSRCP Party Chief Shri Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy that would become the CM of the State in two years. Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy seems to be too eager to become Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh.

Mr. Nara Chandra Babu Naidu, Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has appointed a discourse-preacher by name Shri Chaganti Koteswara Rao, as consultant to the Government of Andhra Pradesh. Both the Chief Minister and the Consultant have fanastic fascination towards pushkarams (Festivals of Ritualistic Bathing in Indian Rivers). Last year, Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu spent about Rs. 20 billion (about $ 350 million) on organising these pushkarams on the banks of River Godavari. During the festival, a stampede took place on the River banks, and about a 100 gullible and innocent pilgrims perished. This year, Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu is on a spending binge and spree of about another $ 350 million on organising River Festival 'Krishna River Pushkarams' in Aug. 2016.

LAVISH SPENDING ON VIPS and VVIPS

Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu is inviting Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Governors of all states, Central ministers, Chief Justice and chief ministers of all states to take part in the Krishna pushkarams. According to news reports, Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu said:

Krishna Pushkarams will be conducted in a grand manner than Godavari Pushkarams. Works relating to construction of ghats, temples and road repairs were taken up by spending Rs 1,700 crore (Rs. 17 billion or about $ 300 million!).

If Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu says Rs. 17 billion, officials will spend Rs. 25 billion. This is the order of the day in India, and in Andhra Pradesh. Expenses become uncontrollable owing to various reasons.

The State of Residual Andhra Pradesh is in a STATE OF BEGGARY AND PENURY, owing to several reasons, which include the unjust bifurcation of the United Andhra Pradesh made by the Bharatiya Janata Party and Congress Party in 2014. Both the BJP and the Congress wanted to make electoral gains in Telangana State, by granting them a separate State, even by resorting to gross injustice to the Residual Andhra Pradesh, passing the Bifurcation bill in Lok Sabha closing its doors, and by making impractical promises of Special Status to Andhra Pradesh in Rajya Sabha (Upper House). Ms. Sonia Gandhi was hailed as the elder aunt of the Telangana People, and even a Temple was built for her. Ms. Sushma Swaraj, BJP Leader (now Foreign Minister of India) wanted to be the younger aunt of Telangana State. What Mr. Narendra Modi and Arun Jaitley wanted (/ want) to become in Telangana, and whether they are going to become those idols, we have to wait and see.

The lavish spending indulged in by the Government of Andhra Pradesh, is adding to the woes of the people here. Government has hiked the 'value of land' for Registration of Sale Deeds. Poor people in A.P. have already lost their ability to purchase even a small land bit of 100 sq.yds. to build a small hut or shed, owing to cornering of all the land by the insider-trading-ruling-party-politicians, realtors, speculators, corrupt Government Officials and employees,

Andhra Pradesh is floating on Rivers of Liquor. If at all we have to bathe as a pushkara ritual, we should bathe in beer and wine, if our sins of electing unscrupulous politicians as our leaders. (Notes: Pushkarams are essentially sin-cleansing festivals. Yudhishthira, Lord Shri Rama Chandra et al cleansed their sins by performing horse sacrifices. 21st Century Indians cleanse their sins by bathing in Rivers spending about Rs. 1,000 per head on travel, food, and incidentals).

ASTROLOGERS AND ARCHI-ASTROLOGERS IN AMERICAN ELECTIONS AND US ADMINISTRATION

We do not know whether Mr. Donald Trump or Ms. Hillary Clinton have appointed their astrological advisers or not. There may be astrologers (horoscope pandits) and architectural-astrologers (vAstu panDits) among the PIOs (Persons of Indian Origin who hold American Citizenship), who are active members / office bearers in Democratic and Republican Parties. They may try their luck to push through their astro / archi-astro beliefs into the campaigns and the administration of the American Government. Even otherwise also, there will be American Christian Missionaries to inject their own beliefs into Mr. Trump and Ms. Clinton, in return for electoral support.

Essentially, there is not much difference between the serious problems faced by the American POOR and UNORGANISED LABORERS in United States, and the INDIAN POOR and the UNORGANISED LABORERS in India and Andhra Pradesh. Only thing is, the American poor do not get enough publicity. Of course, relatively INdian poor and laborers get some publicity, but, yet, not adequate.

To continue. सशेष. ఇంకా ఉంది.
