767 Hans India deserves appreciation for their efforts

By and large, I, this ybrao-a-donkey held a broad view that Media worldwide tends to be inadequately conscious to their social responsibilities. For that their weakness, I often indulged in rationalising and justifying their apathy and callousness, to the monstor of Capitalism. Media Editors, being paid servants of the Investing Corporates, are not given free hands in deciding on the Content they publish, unlike jhompdi bloggers like us. Though comparisons can, sometimes, become obnoxious and odious, owing to use of bad similes or puns, yet I am tempted to use one simile. While the Media parrots will be silver-caged parrots, though fed with cashews, we the jhompdi bloggers tend to be sun-tanned, rain-drenched, cold-frozen unbound parrots chased by ravens.

HansIndia dated 27th May 2016, 30th May 2016, proved to be an exception from the general image of Media. They published the above photograph of a woman in Khammam District climbing up a well, like a creeper to fetch water. This photograph should really open our eyes, to the situation prevailing in India Today. Fortunately, the Govt. of Telangana seems to have responded to the Photo published by Hans India, and have arranged for supply of water tankers to the Village.

Those who have seen the Mahatma Gandhi film directed by Richard Attenborough can recollect one scene in the film, where Gandhi was travelling in a train. Train stopped on a bridge for sometime. Gandhi got down to have a look at the River. There he found an almost-naked woman who was drying her saree in sunlight, as she had only one saree, which she daily washes and wears. It is said that moved by the plight of that woman, Gandhiji too became semi-naked.

Earlier, Eenadu Telugu Newspaper too published a few photos which depicted the dire conditions of people hovering around dry wells for drinking water. But these type of news make only some sporadic seasonal appearances, rather than being recognised as a serious daily problem of harsh existentialist reality.

Governments too do not pay much attention to this serious existential survival question, because their minds always revolve around Industrialists and Corporates. Today, Mr. Cook of Apple, and Mr. Satyam Nadella are the Chief Gods of Indian Prime Ministers and Chief Ministers.

HOW CAN Mr. K. Chandra Sekhara Rao, Chief Minister of Telangana lag behind? Mr. Narendra Modi is spending millions of bucks for educating INdian people to make them learn that the country is changing (badal raha hai). Mr. Aravind Kejriwal has spent hundreds of crore to publish the achievements of his Delhi Rule, by releasing advertisements in South Indian Newspapers. Everybody knows about a similar habit of Ms. Jayalalitaa.

Today, the Telangana Government released FOUR FULL PAGE ADVERTISEMENTS in Newspapers. It is not clear, whether they have released such four page ads. at All INdia Level, or at least at South India level. By doing this, the Governments are not only throwing away public money into drains, but also are wasting imported newsprint which is scarce.

Mr. Chandra Sekhara Rao is successful in his foreplay with the Media, by throwing some moolah at them. Now, it will be the turn of the Chief Minister of Residual Andhra Pradesh, Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu, to pay the Media. People say that at least two Media Houses are his own. Whether he owns them or not, they have become his trumpeteers. If he releases big advertisements only to his trumpeteers newspapers and TV Channels, what will happen for the Enemy Channel and the Enemy Paper? Since, he will not like the Enemy paper and channel, to receive the circari lucre, the advertising binge has to wait till the Enemy Newspaper and Channel is punished by Courts in the cases pending against them.

See the full page advertisement of BMW Cars released by the Car Company in Deccan Chronicle dated 11th July 2015. Full page advertisements on the title page, push the main news of the page to 3rd page of a newspaper. Second page, again a full page ad. was used by a Cosmetics Manufacturer.

Even in distributing these advertisements, do the Foreign Car makers follow any rationalistic policy? They do not appear to have any reason or rhyme. Proof: The same BMW Company gave TWO FULL PAGES ADvertisement to the Hindu. In other words, both the first and the second pages of the Hindu 11.7.2015 are for BMW cars. Why the car Company could not treat The Hindu and The Deccan Chronicle equally? For two pages ad., the Car Company might have paid double the amount paid to D.C. Why this step-motherly treatment? It shows that some Vyapam like Scams are going on in big Corporates and the Media, in distributing the advertisements. If circulation and readership were the criteria, in South India, both the Hindu and Deccan Chronicle seem to have equal circulation.

Everybody knows that the Hindu is a richer and powerful newspaper published from Chennai, with a 100% business-orientation, whereas DC seems to have some problems. Corporate advertisements can also serve as (re)suscitation to beleagured newspapers. Then, natural justice requires that BMW should have given two page ads to both the newspapers, or if that is not possible, they should have given two page ad to DC, and one page ad to the Hindu.

India does not make its own newsprint 100% indigenously. It imports bulk of its needs. Concessional tariff is extended to Indian newspapers under the assumption that the INdian Press is doing some social service, albeit, while taking care of its business. Does it mean that newsprint should be wasted for printing useless luxury car advertisements? How many INdians need luxury cars? HOw many INdians can buy these luxury cars?

Why the foreign car makers are trying to market all their produce in INdia? Why can't they export at least 80% of their production? If they are really trying to export cars made by them in INdia, there should be no need for them to sell them in INdia. Only some garish politicians, corrupt bureaucrats, film stars, cricketers, industrialists handling shady deals, real-estate boom land sellers and builders have the money to shell out for these luxury cars. INdian roads are narrow. With 1.27 billion people in the country, every inch is occupied. Every street and HIghway is crowded.

What we need is, cheap and efficient public transport. NOt luxury cars.

Every INdian should develop a keen interest in understanding the economic problems haunting this country, and find solutions which can serve public interest. Pampering to the DESIRES of a few obscenely rich buyers will do great harm to the ethical fabric of this country.

Do we want the INdian newspapers also face the same fate? Why waste news print on useless luxury car and cosmetic advertisements!

367 Wasting resources accelerates bankruptcies of countries

367 వనరులను వృధా చేయటం దేశాలు, సంస్థలు దివాలా తీయటానికి దారి తీస్తుంది.

Resources, any type, human resources, natural resources, financial resources, technical resources, are all valuable. 

వనరులు, ఏ రకానికి చెందినవైనవి అయినా, మానవ వనరులు, ప్రకృతి వనరులు, ఆర్ధిక వనరులు, సాంకేతిక వనరులు, అన్నీ కూడా విలువైనవే. 

संसाधन, कुछ तरह भी होने दीजिये, मानव संसाधन, प्राकृतिक संसाधन, आर्धिक संसाधन, सांकेतिक संसाधन, सभी संसाधन अमूल्य होते है।

Any country which wastes them is destined towards its own peril and bankruptcy.

ఏ దేశమైనా, సంస్థలైనా, వనరులను దుర్వినియోగం చేస్తే అవి అనతి కాలంలోనే దివాలా పాలవుతాయి.  వాటిని ఆశ్రయించుకుని బ్రతికే వాళ్ళు రోడ్ల పాలవుతారు.

किसी भी देश हो, किसी भी संस्था हो,  संसाधननों को दुर्विनियोग करने के लत में गिरे तो, उन देशों या संस्थाओं स्वल्प काल में ही, दिवाला के अखात में गिर जायेगे।   उन देशों के वासी, या उन संस्थओं के कामगार, सडकों पर सोना पडेगा।

Prime Ministers, Presidents, Vice Presidents, Central Ministers using defence aircraft for internal civil journeys such as attending inaugural functions, electioneering, summer vacations, sojourns.  It is immaterial whether they pay some nominal rent for their use.  Such use can and will cause undue strain wear and tear to the aircraft.  And the wornout aircraft may not be able to serve the country in war situations.

प्रधान मंत्री, राष्ट्रपती, उप राष्ट्रपती, केंद्र मंत्री, आदी वीऐपी लोग रक्षण विमानों को आंतरिक पौर उडानों के लिये उपयोग करना खेदजनक विषय है।  उद्घाटन समारोह, चुनाव प्रचारार्भटों, ग्रीष्मकालीन प्रवास, विवाह समारोह, आदी समस्त कार्यों के लिये उपयोग कर रहे हं।  उन महोदय, उन वायुयानों के लिये कुछ किराया जमा कर्ते या नहीं करते, वह अप्रस्तुत और अनावश्यक है।  अनावश्यक विनियोग में घिसा हुआ उन वायुयान, युध्ध समयों में काम मे नहीं आ सकते।

Excess advertising మీడియాలో అతి ప్రచార కాండ मीडिया में अति प्रचार

Smart phone Companies, luxury car makers, Ecommerce Companies, Government of India Ministries and Undertakings, etc. are releasing full page advertisements in newspapers spending millions, with photos of their brand ambassador film stars and sports persons.   Using full page ads, where a quarter page ad. would have been suffice is nothing but waste of resources.  India spends millions of bucks on importing newsprint.  Even otherwise, indigenous bamboo forests are denuded for producing paper.

స్మార్ట్ ఫోన్ కంపెనీలు, లగ్జరీ కార్ల తయారీ దారులు, ఈ కామర్స్ కంపెనీలు, భారత ప్రభుత్వ మంత్రిత్వశాఖలు, కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వ సంస్థలు, పత్రికలలో కోట్లాది రూపాయలు తగలేసి పూర్తి పేజీ ప్రకటనలను విడుదల చేస్తున్నాయి.   టీవీల్లో ప్రకటనలను జారీ చేస్తున్నాయి.  వీటిపై  క్రికెటర్లు, సినీనటీనటమణులు, బ్రాండు అంబాసెడర్ల ఫొటోలు అదనం.  ఇది వనరుల దుర్వినియోగం తప్ప వేరొకటి కాదు.  భారత్ న్యూస్ ప్రింటును దిగుమతి చేసుకోటానికి కోట్లాది రూపాయలను తగలేస్తున్నది.  అంతే కాక, దేశంలోని వెదురు  అడవులనన్నిటినీ కాగితం తయారీకోసం తగలేస్తున్నది.

स्मार्ट फोन् कंपेनीस्, लग्जरी कार कंपेनीस्, ई कामर्सं कंपॆनीस्, भारत सरक्रारी मंत्रित्व शाखाऎं, अखबारों में करोड रुपये जलाकर विज्ञापन छपा रहे हैँ।  क्रिकॆटर्स, फिल्म स्टार्स, आदी ब्रांड अंबासॆडरो के बडे बडे फोटोस छपा रहे हैं।  यह सब संसाधनों के दुर्विनियोग शिव कुछ अन्य चीज नहीं है।  भारत अखबारी कागज आयात करने के लियो करोडों डालर जला रहे है।
