The word 'dommari ' is a corruption of the root Sanskrit word 'drimmari', meaning one who wanders from place to place.   Why did /do/ will people move from place to place (emigrate and also be on motion)?

तॆलुगु शब्द ' दॊम्मरि ', मूल संस्कृत शब्द ' द्रिम्मरि ' के थोडा बदली हुई शब्द है।  मै इसको भ्रष्ठ या  अपभ्रंश कहना नहीं चाहता हूँ ।  जनत क्यों एक जगह से दूसरे जगह को बार बार चले जाते हैं, कभी कभी ऎमिग्रेट हो जाते हैं  ?

తెలుగు పదం  'దొమ్మరి ' మూల సంస్కృత పదం ' ద్రిమ్మరి ' లో వచ్చిన స్వల్ప మార్పు.  దీనికి నేను భ్రష్ఠము, అపభ్రంశము అనే తీవ్ర పదాలు వాడదలుచుకో లేదు.  ద్రిమ్మరి అంటే ఒక చోటునుండి మరొక చోటకు తరచుగా మారుతూ, కొన్నిసార్లు వలసలు కూడ పోతూ ఉండే వాళ్ళు.

My first request is , please do not underestimate dommaris.  आप से मैरा प्रथम प्रार्धना यह है कि, आप कृपा से दॊम्मरियों को कम आंकने से दूर रहीए ।  तॆलुगु में दॊम्मरि गुडिसेलु लोकोक्ति रहे तो भी, उस लोकोक्ति उपयोग करना समुचित नहीं होगा ।  ముందుగా మీకు నాప్రార్ధన ఏమిటంటే, దయయుంచి దొమ్మరి వారిని మీరు తక్కువగా అంచనా వేయకండి.  తెలుగులో దూరేవి దొమ్మరి గుడిసెలు వంటి సామెతలు ఉన్నా అవి న్యాయమైనవి కావు కాబట్టి, వాటిని వాడక పోటమే సముచితంగా ఉంటుంది.

In Telugu language, during my boyhood, I recollect having seen a Telugu film by name 'jayabhEri' in which Late Akkineni Nageswara Rao and Anjali were  protagonists (hero and heroine).  I had the opportunity of seeing this film free at a time when our family was starving, and when I used to restrain myself (out of compulsion from lack of money) from seeing films in cinema theatres, when a 1959 musical hit film  'jayabhEri' was exhibited in an open ground on a Cloth screen by a philanthropist for what purpose I did not know, near Donka Road, Guntur, where large heaps of coal were stored for allotment and transport.  This film had a very long lasting influence on me.

The story is set around 1600-1700 during the Vijayanagara empire. Kasinatha Sastri (ANR) belongs to a high caste Brahmin family. He lives with his brother and sister-in-law, who is also his closest friend. He treats her like a mother. Manjulavani (Anjali Devi) is part of a troupe that perform plays for money. Being of different caste, the lovers find it difficult to be together with outside prejudices creeping in. The rest of the story is about how ANR marries Anjali, going against the norms and makes people realize that all humans are the same.

For this film, late Pendyala Nageswara Rao gave immortal music.  Late Shri Ghantasala sang them with equal immortality surpassing even Narada and  Tumbura.
