473 Write something about cleaning of your ass, instead of finding fault with our beloved President, PM, Governor and CM.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bapatla_railway_station

English : Recollecting Great Telugu Poet Shri Shri's pun: 'aTlE kAninDu', I shall roast some pan cakes.  (Pun here is 1) aTlu = pan cakes. 2) aTlu = as you say, likewise.)  Telugu singular word for 'pan cake' is aTTu.  Telugu plural for pan cake is 'aTlu'.  I shall do here 'likewise, as you say' means, instead of criticising Prez, PM, Guv, CM, I shall take up something personal which deals with keeping one's own ass clean.

First, one clarification
If pilot of an aircraft, or Captain of a ship, or driver of a big bus, commits an error, there will be a great calamity and disaster.  Similarly if a Prez, PM, Guv, CM commits a grave error, entire Nation or an entire State collapses,  or suffers for some decades or centuries.  On the other hand a kaun-kiska-goTTam-gADu like me (sorry for using obscene words, but they are very appropriate, hence I am tempted to use.), commits a fault, at the most he (I) and his (my) family suffer(s).  Nothing else happens.  Hence an analyses of what the rulers do is important and not what a "SatakOTi XXX la lO oka bODi XXX" (one insignificant fellow among a billion guys, referring to one ordinary Indian among 130 crore Indian population) does is really worthwhile to write about.

Now, writing something about myself.

TOP TEN BOOKS WHICH INFLUENCED MY CHILDHOOD (UPTO 8TH STANDARD OF EDUCATION).

This pertains to the period 1954-1962 March.

My condition used to be like Calvin inthe Calvin Hobbes comics, without the cat Hobbes.  From 1954 to 1959, I was dumped by my parents at my paternal  grandfather's place in a small village.   To describe my grandfather now, I have to coin a new phrase, which is to be the opposite of nouveau riche (a person who became rich recently), i.e nouveau poor or nouveaux pauvres.   A person who has become poor a short time earlier.  He used to have his own grievances, which he used to mumble to me, expecting some consolation from me.  My grand mother used to go to outstation relatives houses often, resulting in my becoming a burden to my grandfather.

In 1959 I was shifted from my grandfather's village to Guntur, then to Bapatla.

This list of top ten books read by me, pertains to that period.

1. KottAndhra vAcakam.  (I Standard School Telugu Primer published around 1957 by Venkatrama & Co., Eluru.

In four years of primary education, I read only I standard.  2nd, 3rd, 4th standards were skipped.  No books.

This used to be a black & white 1/8 demy-size book, centre-stapled, 64 page book, opening with the Telugu alphabet 'a' 'అఆ'  with picture of plough for araka అరక  =  plough, and Avu ఆవు =  cow.  Last pages contained some small moral stories.  One such story was about a boy who nursed a snake by feeding it with milk daily, in spite of dissuasion by elders.  One day, the snake bit him.  He died.  The moral intended to be conveyed was that we should not host persons with unpredictable venomous behaviors.  (This moral story came to me mind, when Shri L.K. Advani, Shri Vajpayee, and Murali Manohar Joshi were sidelined. I have on Twitter saw a re-tweet said to have been made by Mr. Advani).

2. Sumati Satakam.

For four years in succession, these two were my only text books, covering I to IV standards in one lumpsum.

Apart from these, I received training in writing Telugu promisory notes (used for borrowing money all over Telugu land), and multiplication tables upto 20 x 20 =400 (twenty twenties are four hundred) called 'pedda ekkams'.

Learning in those days was mostly on Markapur-slates with wooden frames, using stone pencils.  Getting by-heart (committing to memory) was a must.  Here, we have to distinguish between 'baTTI' and 'dhAraNa'.  baTTIyam is rote learning without understanding meaning.  dhAraNa is storing in memory after understanding meaning.

Experiences some of these two books, multiplication tables, promisory notes, may be of some, at least garbage value, I shall narrate later on.

3. Shri Shankara Vijayam.

A biography of Adi Sankaracharya published by Sringeri Sankara Matham.  Sankara's experiences of going to Mandana Misra's House through the closed doors and walls, arguing with Mandana Misra, his wife Chandrasekhara Kriya Sakti, going to Kasi and entering into Kasi King's body to experience kAma SAStra, ultimately defeating Mandana Misra, his becoming Sankaracharya's disciple with the name SurESwara, were all etched in my mind.

4. A small biographical book on Mahakavi bhAravi, which was our non-detailed text in 7th Standard.

About this I shall write later.

5. A small biographical book on Vir DurgA Das (A Rajput warrior of Moghul Aurangzeb period, who acted as guardian of Rajput king Jasvant Singh's son, and also who was said to have given shelter to Prince Akbar, s/o Aurangzeb).  This was our Non-detailed text in VIII standard.

6. Bhoomi, Telugu rendering of a novel by Rahul Sankritayan.  This book was given to me at Bapatla Municipal High School in 7th Standard, for writing an essay on coconut tree (kobbari ceTTu).  The school authorities, by giving this type of profound books might have thought, that students can be moulded into better citizens.  Unfortunately, I could not understand the intricacies of this book.  I was immature.  akka ASE kAni, bAva batakaDu kadA.  (English:  Sister wants her husband to live, but brother-in-law will not love.  Telugu proverb to indicate a hopeless situation.).  Like legendary Duryodhana of Mahabharata, I am destined to a different shore.   About this I shall write later.

7. Vasavadatta, Telugu translation of a drama by Emperor Harsha.  This book was given as a prize by Bapatla Municipal High School in a school level contest of reproducing mathematical and scientific formulae, in 7th Standard.  I could not make any head and tail of this book, though I tried my best.  School authorities' good intentions became futile.
About this, and the other two books of Harsha i.e. Nagandandam and Ratnavali, I shall write when time permits.

8. Mahabharatam, a weekly serial in Sunday issue in SaraswatAnubandham of Andhra Prabha, or Andhra Patrika daily.  It was, I think by Kavya KanTha GaNapati Muni.  I read it regularly, but I could not make any head and tail of it.  May be my own ignorance.

9. Tenali RamakrishNudi kathalu.  (Stories of Tenali Rama.  Tenali Ramakrishna was a 16th Century Telugu poet, well known more known for his cATuvulu (ex tempore rendering of poetry) and less known for his profound poetry UdbhaTArAdhya caritra).

10. A biography of Bammera pOtana, linking him with poet Srinatha as his brother-in-law.

Other than these, there was not much extra-curricular reading.

One Shri Khader Vali was there, a school Base Ball Champion, a role model for the school students.

Good time was spent on climbing sapOTA trees behind the Bhavanarayana Swami Temple, Bapatla.  Playing "vanguDu dUkuLLu" in the temple premises, and some times cricket.

Almost every harikatha sung in the temple premises was heard.  There were two excellent Nadaswara Vidwans in the temple service (They might have expired now).  One violin vidvAn,  was a youth in those days.  I used to listen to their Nadasvaram playing and violin playing.  After growing up, many times I thought of going to Bapatla, catch hold of that violin maestro by his feet, and learn violin from him.  It did not materialise, because of life's priorities.

After I retired from Bank, I had some spare money, from PF etc.  I bought a second hand violin, and approached a local teacher.  I do not know why, but after learning flute in classical style, learning other instruments have stopped appealing to me.  It may be because flute remains closest to our lips.  Of course, violins also touch our chest, shoulders.  Liking something or not liking something, these are all individualistic idiosyncracies.

One song which always reverberated in my ears again and again "Om HarA SankarA!  vandanm digambarA, vandita purandhara etc."  It was also sung by a burra katha Great.

Bapatla Railway Station was visited.  We used to, sometimes, beg for 'grease' from the engine drivers of coal rail engines of those days.  Purpose: Screws of our fountain pens used to leak frequently.  Applying grease was thought to be a solution for plugging the leakages.

My first lesson about observing human sexual behaviors was taught to me, by a senior student,  on the stairs leading to the shed containing the God's car (ratham).  The stairs in those days were located from within the temple premises, on the northern side of the dhwaja sthambham (flag post).

The most important historical development during that period was Chinese Invasion 36,000 sq.km. of Ladakh and NEFA (North East Frontier Agency or by Arunachal Pradesh) in 1962.  Our beloved CM Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu is now on a visit to China to beg them for investments.  Our next blog post will be about it.

Telugu Mahabharatam, (Andhra Mahabharatam) translated by Tikkana .  Salya Parvam. dvitIyASvAsam (Chapter 2). Verse No. 113 (prose portion called vacanam).  Last seven lines.

Context: In the Mahabharata war, Bhishma, Drona and Karna were slain.  Duryodhana, then, on the advice of AswaththAma made King of Madra-- Salya as the Commander of Kaurava Forces.  This battle was on the last day, i.e. 18th day.

Sanjaya was narrating the events that took place on the battled to the blind king Dhritarashtra.  After the death of Bhishma, Drona and Karna who were Generalissmos in the battles of the previous seventeen days, Duryodhana made Salya the Commander.  Salya was assisted by Karna's son Satyasena.  On his left side, there was Kripacharya, supported by SAKAs and YAVANAs.

ybrao-a-donkey's views:--

Many historians view that Yavanas were Greeks.

To continue.

470 This leader seems to rejoice if Centre does not approve Pattiseema Project

Context in Mahabharata Epic.
Mahabharata war.  17th day.  KarNa died in the battle.  According to Mahabharata Epic, KarNa was son of the Sun God.  That evening Sun's rays touched with compassion and (paternal) love, the dead body of KarNa lying on the battle field.  It was felt (Poet felt) that Sun God had become impure by touching the dead body of KarNa.  (It is an Indian belief that when a person touches a dead body, becomes impure, and the polluted person should bathe, to cleanse himself of the impurity).

Approximate English Gist
Now the Poet is using a figure of speech in Telugu called 'utprEkshA alankAram'.  This figure of speech is similar to metaphor in English.  Use of a phrase like "as if" can help to pass on the qualities of the subject of the comparison (source of the qualities of comparison, called 'upamAnam', to the object of comparison (receiver of the comparison, called 'upamEyam'), and to depict a commonness of situation.

Ancient Indians believed that Sun rises from Eastern Hills and Eastern Sea, and sets into the Western Hills and the Western Sea.  Here, the poet is depicting that the Sun God set into the (Western) Sea as if he was going to cleanse himself of his body polluted by touching Karna's dead body.  InuDu = Sun God.  rAdhEyuDu = karNa.  karuNa = compassion.  pAvana snAnam = purificatory bath. onarimpa pOvu = going to bathe.  nirgata prANu = person whose life is lost. jalanidhi = Ocean.

We need not find fault the practices of Great Poets of those days.  These are called 'kavi samayams' (poetic times or poetic practices).

At the same time, we can make an observation of human nature inherent in human instincts.  It is the practice of humans passing on their joys and sorrows to forces and objects of nature.

468 What work do Coolies have in forests in the Seshachalam forests of Chittoor District?- Urban Development Minister.

468 What work do Coolies have in forests in the Seshachalam forests of Chittoor District?- Urban Development Minister.

The following comment is being attributed to Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, Union Urban Development and Parliamentary Affairs Minister.

Don't the coolies know that cutting down red sanders trees is a crime?  Do they go for work without knowing what kind of job it is?

If what is attributed above in Media is true, then we must consider Mr. Venkaiah Naidu as ignorant of workers behavior.

Why?  Mr. Venkaiah Naidu hails from a rural area in Andhra Pradesh.  The area lies on the borders of forests.  Villagers on the borders of forests eke out their living by collecting firewood, forest products etc.  For many of them, particularly illiterate laborers, it is almost a daily chore.  Some of them may already know that it is a crime to cut red sanders trees.  Some of them may also know that it was highly risky to venture into forests for livelihood.  At the same time, every villager in backward Districts is not a B.A., B.L., like Mr. Naidu.  Even Mr. Venkaiah Naidu as a lawyer, may not know all the laws, every Section in every Act, with added amendments, notifications etc.

Even if the labourers know, they cannot avoid going to forests because woodcutting was a thousands of years old, very ancient occupation, since the days of man being a hunter.  Consequently, going to forests for collecting wood and forest produce became a human right.  Governments considering that forest trees as their State property, auctioning the trees to benefit forest contractors etc. were developments of later Centuries.  Of course, cutting red sanders or smuggling it may not be a human right.  But then, the State will have to make a distinction between the smugglers and woodcutters.

The object of this particular blog post is not-- to defend the red sanders smugglers, or their heinous act of killing forest Officials.  The criminals who killed the Forest and Police Officials earlier are definitely to be caught and punished appropriately.  If necessary, in self defence, police may have to use fire weapons against them.

The 20 wood-cutter labourers who died (may be smugglers or their assistants) are not likely to be the above criminals.  Now , the murderer criminals are still to be searched and 302 cases are to be booked against the smuggler mafia gang leaders.  This encounter is not a substitute for that.  Both are separate things.  Both the batches of smugglers/laborers are separate groups.

Living in dire poverty, some wood-cutters of Tamil Nadu might have been tempted to accept the work in Seshachalam, when they were offered double or higher wages than the wages paid to ordinary wood-cutters.

These are the days, when film stars who have already earned millions of bucks, who have received Padma Bhushans and Padma VibhUshans, Rajya Sabha Memberships,  may again and again expose every private part of theirs and dance obscenely, if they get more bucks.

Is there any wonder, in laborers (they may not be innocent) accepting the work, without knowing the dire risk of getting  fired fatally?  They might have thought that they would go to jail if caught.  Or the mafia leaders might have assured them that they will arrange bail, appoint a lawyer, maintain their families while in jail, etc.  Of course, the laborers believing the words of the smuggler mafia lost their lives, for taking an undue risk for a few more bucks.

It is also a different thing that A.P. Govt. or Tamil Nadu Government pays them some compensation.  After all, the politicians or the Officials do not pay the compensation from their pockets.  The amounts will be paid from exchequer.

Besides , compensation is not a substitute for loss of lives.   When a physical laborer dies, a Nation loses his productivity for 30 years ie. for 9000 days, nearly Rs. 4.5 million.  A Nation which takes pride in its young population, its productivity, should not throw away their lives, unless there are unavoidable circumstances.   These unavoidable circumstances are to be checked now.

Some pertinent questions which arise:

1. The Police and Forest authorities claim that "Shoot at sight" orders have been passed and publicised.

a) Have sign boards of large size placed on FOREST PATHS in Tamil and Telugu languages, warning about the RISK OF BEING SHOOT ON SIGHT?

b) Have the "shoot at sight" orders been repeatedly beamed ON TV CHANNELS in Tamil and Telugu languages in Andhra Pradesh, and the neighboring Districts of Tamil Nadu?

c) Have sufficient number printed pamphlets been printed in Tamil and Telugu languages and distributed in the A.P. and T.N. border districts?

d) Have Panchayats and Municipalities of the area been informed of the SHOOT AT SIGHT ORDERS?

e) Now-a-days both the Central and State Governments send a number of mobile SMSes even for flimsy things.  Did they send any such "SMS" messages about SHOOT AT SIGHT ORDERS to any mobiles in Chittoor, Cuddapah and the adjacent Districts in Tamil Nadu?

f) Did they show any slides or short-films in the local cinema halls, about the Shoot at Sight Orders?

g) Did they make sufficient number of announcements on loud speakers, before resorting to fire?

h) Why didn't they try firing into sky, firing at legs, before resorting to direct fire?  Are there are any special circumstances for skipping the first two prerequisites?

i) Did they exhibit some RED WARNING BOARDS at Lorry & Mini Lorry stands, auto stands to warn the laborers?

j) Did they announce it All India Radio Stations of Cuddapah, Chennai?  In All India Radio, every hour we hear an advertisement "I am Narendra Modi.  etc. etc. "  The SHOOT AT SIGHT ORDERS could have been repeatedly announced on All India Radio.

Police and Forest Officials have every right to fire against attackers in self-defence.  But the question is: Is this right being exercised honestly and sincerely?  Are there any circumstances to believe that this right has been exercised honestly and sincerely?  This should now be checked through a judicial process.  If the Police and Forest Officials can show that they have followed the above precautions, they can expect full public support for their actions from public.

Normally, Police, Forest, Excise Officials do not move, when people approach them with complaints.  Bribes are necessary both to initiate an action which they are bound to take as per law, and to stop an action which they have started.

There may be a strong desire on the part of the Police, Forest officials to take revenge against smugglers who have killed two innocent Officers discharging their duties.  But is this desire, a sufficient motivation to fire on a very large scale?

There are news reports that political leaders of the area have links with the smugglers, and that some of the political leaders themselves are the smugglers.  The Police and Forest Officials should have started their combing with the politicians and their cronies, by repeated inspections of their residences, factories, godowns, cattle sheds, plantations etc.  Let the Police and Forest Officials publish a list of politicians, industrialists, business persons, whose houses, factories, godowns, cattle sheds, plantations etc. they have searched, and the number of cases they have registered.  How many cases of disproportionate wealth in relation to sources of income they noticed during the searches, and what action they have initiated against the top king pins of the racket?

Justice should not only be done, but should also appear to have been done.

Conclusion

Till India attains full employment in its true sense, coolies may have work with forests.  They will not have any work with angels (deva dUtAs).

Whatever I am writing here, are not being written here, with any animosity against Hinduism or sanAtana dharma, or any other religion.   Like my learned readers, I love my birth religion (Hinduism, with or without the nomenclature sanAtana dharma), but not some of its opprobrious, bigotric, fanatic practices.  In the same manner, I do not have any disrspect towards Swami Vivekananda or our honorable Prime Minister.  At thes same time,  I consider that it will not be inappropriate for me to share my findings and inquiry results with my readers, without hurting their sentiments.   I know that there is a possibility of my going to jail for misinterpretation by others of what I write here.  Yet, I write all these, knowing the risk of arrest, and being prepared for it.

However, to believe that India should become the World's Preceptor, is too much of eccentricism for Indian Nation.

Believing that India is superior to other countries and that it is in a position to teach others is a misconception, which Vivekananda seems to have believed in.

There is nothing which India has to deliberately teach to the world.

If the countries of the world consider that there is something to learn from India, that they may learn from India voluntarily, without telling us.  This is what is called emulation or imitation.

There is a need to make a comparative table of the role model Swami VivekAnanda, and the disciple Hon. Narendra Modi. Whatever I write here about Swami Vivekananda, is based on his Complete Works, particularly his Epistles (letters written by him to others), available on Net, from the websites of Institutions of Heritage of Ramakrishna Paramahamsa and Vivekananda. (cult?). Those who wish to check their correctness, and veracity can definitely check them on the websites of RKP-SV institutions.

Though he mentions of his assisting a railway tea stall run by his family, according to internet, another tea stall run by his uncle in an RTC Busstand, not enough information is available. There is also a view that he ran his own tea cart for a few months (how many months, nobody knows), before joining the Sangh Parivar. It is also not clear whether Sangh Parivar provides only food and shelter to its workers and office bearers, or it provides them some salary. Any information in this respect is to come only from our Hon. P.M., or from the Sangh Parivar. While Mr. Rahul Gandhi has inherited political jobs from Nehru dynasty, Mr. Modi's sunrise on the political job arena is from the kindnesses shown by Mr. Atal Bihari Vajpayee and probably Advani & Joshi. He repaid his debt to all of them by uploading them to Margadarsak Mandal which apparently never met.

MarriageIn a letter addressed to Ms. Christina Greenstidel, a German girl, he sent a stamped document signed by him for her signature. He also expressed a doubt whether to mention her name as Miss or Mrs. There are some letters which at least partially indicate a sort of relationship with her, which may or may not be sexual. Some say that she is his adopted daughter, but there is no evidence to that. Early marriage in teens, but not enough evidence of a child-marriage made by elders. Not legally separated. There is some vagueness, because of his late disclosure in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, under a staqtutary compulsion.

Spent some time by begging Swami Vivekananda in one of his California speeches told his audiences that at Alam Bazar for some time they used to live by collecting alms from streets and that some housewives used to give them stale chapatis. Our beloved PM has to clarify on his 40 years between his Chaiwala and Gujarat CM occupations, and enlighten us about the years in which if he lived by alms, and his experiences about whether any housewives gave him stale chapatis. We have to await his autobiography, or more biographies by others, probably after 2024 when he may retire from PMship.

Write something about India becoming a Jagad Guru (Preceptor for the whole world. Jagad = world. Guru = Preceptor.
This is a fancy self-given title by the Heads of some monasteries in India, though not confined to - but is more prominent among the Heads of monasteries claiming to have been started by Adi Sankaracharya of KalaDi (Kerala State). This practice of self-titling as Jagad Gurus seems to have started at a time many Indians considered India as the whole world and the whole earth, probably when and because there was a taboo on venturing to cross the seas.

This fashion of Heads of monasteries considering themselves as Preceptors of the World, Rulers of the World, is a world trait. E.g. Pope. Khalifa. Vivekananda seems to have longed to imitate the alien religions. In a way he may be correct. In a way, he may be even INAPPROPRIATE because if others do something wrong, we need not imitate blindly.

We need not doubt the motives of Swami Vivekananda when he might have dreamt of India becoming a Preceptor to the whole World. It may be out of National Pride, or out of a knee jerk response to reckless conversions indulged in by the Semitic Religions using donations they receive from colonial monarachs, queens and Corporates of those days, as well as these days.

Actually, Hinduism or the sanAtana dharma is not a religion. It is a conglomeration सम्मेळन సమ్మేళనం of several religions, not assembled or unified by a single person. The composite living style in India was a contribution by thousands of thinkers, some of them are respectfully called Rishis, Munis, AchAryas, Gurus et al. But none of them have, can individually have any monopoly or oligopoly or monopolistic competition controls on the religion. Not can one single path be treated as the Chief General path of the Indian living style.

Indian living style has several strengths and weaknesses, which are worth studying, but not possible to discuss here in this single blog post. Its greatest weakness is its legacy of the caste system, and the oppression and suppression of dalits and tribals.

In spite of numerous weaknesses, Hindu or composite Indian life style is more hospitable than the world alien religions because it has a rainbow like polychrome variety and choices, diversified expansive spiritual literature all of which is impossible for any single individual to master. Hence, there is no question of somebody or the Nation as a whole considering itself as Jagad Guru (World Preceptor). Before India ventures to gain that No. 1 rank, India and Indians must master their own culture, understand its width, depth, pluralism, accommodativeness, flexibility, tolerance, and above all, love of justice. This justice is not the narrow legal justice. It is the natural justice, which is called DHARMA. The word DHARMA is not to be understood in its narrow sense of being name of a religion or a sub religion.

The Telugu Mahabharata verse, very clearly and lucidly defines the great path of DHARMA:

This verse is by Great Telugu poet Tikkan of 13th Century A.D. Book is the Telugu translation of Indian Epic Mahabharata of Krishna Dvaipayana vyAsa. This verse was said by vidura, an adviser to the blind king DhritarAshtra.

Among all the paths of truth and justice (dharma), that path is the best which makes us not to do such things to others, which when done by others, hurt us.

This dharma, proseylitizing religions (religions which are engaged in converting people of other religions into one's own religion) cannot, do not understand. They know, in the name of service to mankind, to buy the intellects of people, by offering money, making false promises, denigrating other religions, calling other religions as barbaric and uncivilised.

India does not proseylitise (convert the religions of people), nor will it allow the world alien religions to invade into India, in the name of religious freedom. Indians already have freedoms of religion. Western missionaries cannot do their nefarious conversion business in India.

To continue. Hindi and English versions will be added later).

This web page contains the Official narration of the Personal Life Story of Shri Narendra Modi.  This Personal Life Story is in Public Domain, and it has implied consent of the Prime Minister.

(Note: Content of the above page may change when the incumbent changes.   Let us hope that it will remain there for some years to come).

As there is a possibility of our losing the content of the above web page, I reproduce the story below verbatim in its entirety.

Personal Life Story

History was scripted in the forecourt of Rashtrapati Bhawan on the evening of 26th May 2014 as Narendra Modi took oath as the Prime Minister of India after a historic mandate from the people of India. In Narendra Modi, the people of India see a dynamic, decisive and development-oriented leader who has emerged as a ray of hope for the dreams and aspirations of a billion Indians. His focus on development, eye for detail and efforts to bring a qualitative difference in the lives of the poorest of the poor have made Narendra Modi a popular and respected leader across the length and breadth of India.
Narendra Modi’s life has been a journey of courage, compassion and constant hardwork. At a very young age he had decided to devote his life in service of the people. He displayed his skills as a grass root level worker, an organiser and an administrator during his 13 year long stint as the Chief Minister of his home state of Gujarat, where he ushered a paradigm shift towards pro-people and pro-active good governance.

Formative Years

Narendra Modi’s inspiring life journey to the Office of Prime Minister began in the by-lanes of Vadnagar, a small town in North Gujarat’s Mehsana district. He was born on the 17th of September 1950; three years after India had gained its Independence. This makes him the first Prime Minister to be born in independent India. Mr. Modi is the third child born to Damodardas Modi and Hiraba Modi. Mr. Modi comes from a family of humble origins and modest means. The entire family lived in a small single storey house which was approximately 40 feet by 12 feet.
Narendra Modi’s formative years taught him early tough lessons as he balanced his studies, non-academic life to spare time to work at the family owned Tea Stall as the family struggled to make ends meet. His school friends remember that as a child also he was very industrious and had an affinity for debates and a curiosity to read books. Schoolmates recollect how Mr. Modi used to spend many hours reading in the local Library. As a child he was also fond of swimming.
Mr. Modi’s thoughts and dreams as a child were quite removed from how most children of his age thought. Perhaps it was the influence of Vadnagar which once used to be a vibrant center of Buddhist learning and spirituality many centuries ago. As a child also he always felt a strong urge to make a difference to society. He was highly influenced by the works of Swami Vivekananda which laid the foundation of his journey towards spiritualism and which inspired him to pursue the mission to fulfill Swamiji’s dream of making India a Jagat Guru.
At the age of 17 he left home to travel across India. For two years he travelled across the expansive landscape of India exploring various cultures. When he returned home he was a changed man with a clear aim of what he wanted to achieve in life. He went to Ahmedabad and joined Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS). RSS is a socio-cultural organisation working towards the social and cultural regeneration of India. It was a tough routine for Narendra Modi in Ahmedabad since 1972 when he became a Pracharak for RSS. His day began at 5 am and went on till late night. Late 1970s also saw a young Narendra Modi join the movement to restore Democracy in India which was reeling under Emergency.
While continuing to shoulder different responsibilities within the Sangh during the 1980s Narendra Modi emerged as an Organizer exemplar with his organizing skills. In 1987 a different chapter began in the life of Mr. Modi when he started work as the General Secretary of the BJP in Gujarat. In his first task Mr. Modi won a victory for the BJP in Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation elections for the first time ever. He also ensured that the BJP was a close second to the Congress in the 1990 Gujarat Assembly elections. In the 1995 Assembly elections Mr. Modi’s organizational skills ensured the BJP’s vote share increased and the party won 121 seats in the Assembly.
Mr. Modi worked as the National Secretary of BJP from 1995 looking after party’s activities in Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. As BJP’s General Secretary Organisation he worked to ensure the BJP won the 1998 Lok Sabha elections. It was in September 2001 that Mr. Modi received a phone call from then Prime Minister Vajpayee which opened a new chapter in his life taking him from the rough and tumble of Organizational Politics to the world of Governance. Years in Governance

Narendra Modi’s evolution from quintessential Organization Man of the BJP to one of India’s best known leaders recognized for his Good Governance over a span of a decade tells a story of grit, determination and Strong Leadership in the face of grave adversity. Narendra Modi’s transition from the world of Political Organizing to the realm of Administration and Governance neither had the luxury of time nor the benefit of training. Shri Modi had to learn the ropes of Administration while on the job right from Day One. Narendra Modi’s first 100 days in office offer a glimpse of not just how Shri Modi made that personal transition but these 100 days also offer a glimpse of how Shri Modi brought unconventional thinking and out of the box ideas to shake status-quo and reform Governance.
Narendra Modi’s path to creating a Vibrant Gujarat as a shining example of Development and Governance did not come easy. It was a path littered with adversities and challenges. Through the last decade if there is one constant trait of Narendra Modi that has stood out it is his Strong Leadership in the face of grave adversity. Shri Narendra Modi’s approach to governance has always been viewed as being above politics. Shri Modi never let political differences get in the way of pursuing solutions to developmental challenges. As Shri Narendra Modi prepares to assume Office as India’s next Prime Minister, his approach to Administration and Governance stands out for its convergent thinking. The finest manifestation of Shri Modi’s philosophy of “Minimum Government, Maximum Governance” is his Pancha-Amrut construct for convergent Governance.
His performance is reflected in the many Awards his government received from both National and International media. Shri Narendra Modi as India’s Prime Minister brings with him a rich and hands-on experience as one of India’s most successful Chief Ministers and one of its finest of Administrators.

I shall provide a Telugu translation in due course.  I shall also try to get a Hindi version.  In the mean time, ybrao-a-donkey's humble views:

What I write here, is based on the assumption, presumption that Prime Minister Narendra Modi read what is written about his Personal Life Story on his Official Website.  Naturally what is to disclose , and what is to console, might have had his approval.

Mr. Modi approved mentioning about his balancing between his studies, and work in the family teastall.  He also approved mentioning about his industriousness, affinity for debates, curiosity to read books, spending many hours in local library, his fondness for swimming, his thoughts being out of tune with the thoughts of children of his age, his being influenced by Swami Vivekananda, his journey towards spiritualism, his desire to fulfill Swami Vivekananda's dream of making India a Jagadguru, his two years travels across India, etc.   Let us be proud of all these achievements of his.

While narrating personal life stories of great men, marriage is regarded as an important mile stone.  Personal life stories become incomplete when a mention is not made about marriage and  children.  Hindus (should we say sanAtana dharma?) regard marriage as a very sacred institution.

But why does our Hon. Prime Minister hide about his marriage to Ms. Jashoda Ben, and that he sacrificed his married life to serve this Great country?  He need or need not have mentioned (at his discretion) that the too early marriage was a mistake of elders.

Is it a sin to mention wife's name?

For the sake of her husband, Ms. Jashoda Ben is praying thousand Gods, and visiting sacred spots.  Just by mentioning her name on PM's official website, will there be any obstacle to PM's  life-dedicated service to Nation?

You may not know, but for your information only.  I do not wish to influence your thinking.  You are entitled to your own perspectives.:

Our Prime Minister, while filing nominations to Gujarat Assembly in previous elections , did not disclose his marital status in his nomination papers (left the column blank as if it was not necessary), though he was married as early as in 1960s or in 1970s.

Our Prime Minister, disclosed his marital status only in 2014 Parliament  elections, while contesting from VadOdAra Constituency.  Probable reason, a legal compulsion arising out of a Supreme Court ruling that disclosure of marital status, spouse's name, details of his/her properties, is essential.

Now, let us compare our beloved Prime Minister's advice to the Judiciary, in the dinner-he-hosted=cum-Conference of Chief Ministers and High Court Judges held on 5th April in New Delhi VignAn Bhavan.  He advised the top Judges of this country to introspect into their judgements.

465 Do industrialist MPs have time to serve Sports bodies? When will they serve people?

465 kyA udyOgapati samsadOamkO KhEl samshThAOmkO nirvahaN karnE kE samay milEgA?
465 MPlu gA mArina pAriSrAmika vEttalaku, krIDA samsthalanu nirvahincHE samayam unTundA?

In the early days of Indian independence and democracy, a philosophical concept existed that Members of Parliament and Assemblies should concern themselves only with legislative functions i.e. making laws.  Representing people's problems of their Constituencies was secondary to a sense of National belonging and outlook.  In other words, if there are 542 members in Indian Parliament Lower House (Lok Sabha), each member was a 1/542 of the Indian Nation.  He was not a representative of his Constituency or his Region or State, in its narrow geographical sense.

Gradually, things started changing.  MPs and MLAs were pressurised by the voters, members of their castes, linguistic groups, religious groups to represent their view points and concerns, as distinct from National macro concerns.

If a MP or an M.L.A. really wants to serve people in an ideal manner, 24 hours will be inadequate for them.  If they also keep in mind that they have to do justice to the pay and perquisites they get from the public exchequer, then they have to burn their life's candle from both ends.  They will not be able to do justice to their personal businesses / occupations / professions which they were persuing for their livelihood before their election to represent people.   In spite of employing paid Managers to look after such businesses / occupations, their erstwhile livelihoods may suffer.  Fortunately, MPs and MLAs who complete their full five years term in India, get their entitlement to some reasonable pension, so that it will not be necessary for them to starve after completing the term.

In the above arrangement, there is no provision for a third avocation.  But, we find our MPs, MLAs and Ministers quite eager to preside Sports Associations.

Names of politicians and the Sports Associations they control /controlled in the past are given below:

1. Sharad Pawar - Mumbai Cricket Assocsiation - Former Union Minister, and President of NCP Party.
2. Narendra Modi- Gujarat Cricket Association - present P.M. of India.
3. Suresh Kalmadi - Indian Olympic Association - Former Union Minister.
4. Amit Shah - Gujarat Cricket Association - present BJP President.
5. Praful Patel - All India Foot Ball Federation (AIFF) - Union Minister.
6. Ramlal Thakur - Kabaddi and Volley Ball Associations - Former Forest Minister of Himachal Pradesh.
7. Anil Sarma - Himachal Athletic Association - Rural Dev. Minister of Himachal.
8. J.P. Nadda, - Himachal Rifle Association - BJP National Secretary, Rajya Sabha MP.
9. Anurag Thakur - Himachal Cricket, Olympics Ass. - MP from Hamirpur, HP.
10.Galla Jayadev - A.P. Olympic Association. - T.D.P., M.P., Guntur.
11.Gokaraju Gangaraju - Vice President, B.C.C.I. - B.J.P., M.P. Narsapur.

Supreme Court of India, while hearing a petition by Indian Hockey Federation (IHF) and Hockey India, advised that sports bodies in India should be kept away from politicians.

Mr. Rahul Gandhi, Congress Vice President opposed the idea of politicians controlling sport bodies.  (I am not a supporter of Mr. Rahul Gandhi.  Whatever be his other merits and demerits, in this particular respect of politicians controlling sports, he said a good thing.  Fortunately he himself is not President or Secretary of any Sports Association. ).

International Footballer Mr. Mark Seagraves, when he visited India was also distressed to find that Indian sports were dominated by politicians.

CURRENT EVENT
Mr. Galla Jayadev, T.D.P. M.P. from Guntur got himself elected President of Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association.  He is already unable to do justice to his accepted job of Guntur M.P.  He has to run his family business of Amar Raja Batteries.  When will he find time to resurrect Andhra Pradesh Olympic Association?

Mr. Gokaraju Gangaraju, Secretary Andhra Cricket Association, is also B.J.P. M.P. from Narsapur.  This M.P. has to look after his Laila Group of Companies.  He has to administer his MBA & Engineering College --Gokaraju Gangaraju Institute of Technology, Hyderabad.  When will he have time to work full time for the poor of Narsapur?

I have replied upto dommari guDiselu portion.

Now, only your comment portion "ni gudda nuvvu kaDukkO" (Wash your ass yourself) remains.

First about the word "gudda" used by you:

Gudda is a common place, somewhat unparliamentary word in Telugu language to mean "ass".   In school science text books, ass is referred to as 'gudam' (anus).  The word 'gudam' is considered as acceptable.  Hence, in this answer, I shall use the word 'gudamu' to refer to anus.

Gudam is an export port (it exports or purges out excreta), whereas mouth is an import port (it takes in food and unloads it into stomach).

If we view mouth as some great organ in our anatomy, we have to attribute at least 90% equal greatness to gudam.   If gudam does not attend to its work, wastes will accumulate in colon- large intestines (pedda prEgulu), and our body becomes a moving garbage bin.  Unfortunately, society feels shy of speaking about gudam.

About washing one's own gudam, without bothering about the society or the country

This is the bane (SApam or curse) of India.   People take little interest in what happens in their surroundings and their society, except about which man is having illicit sex with which women!   Indians are big voyuers, apart from being big gamblers.

When Alexander invaded India, his troups were with co-operation of Ambhi, were trodding towards the Kingdom of Pauras (Purushottama) , the farmers on both sides of Alexander's army's marching path looked at the army just for a moment, and without further bothering they went ahead with their work.   When invading alien soldiers enter a country, what should its people do?  Watch the show for a moment, and go ahead unconcerned?

Same thing happened when Mohammed Ghazni invaded India 17 times in 17 years and took away great treasures, after breaking Somnath Temple, Gujarat !

Same thing happened when Prithviraj Chauhan was taken prisoner by Mohammed Ghori, along with maunds of gold and gems. !

Same thing happened when the last Yadava kings of Daulatabad (Devagiri) , Mahadev and Sankaradev were skinned alive and hung at the gates of Devgiri fort, by Alluddin Khilji!

Same thing happened when the last Hoyasala king Veera Bhallala III was skinned alive by Ghiasuddin Tughlak , and stuffed with straw, hanged it on the Fort of Madurai, paraded all over the kingdom  to show what would be the fate of persons who dared to oppose him.

Same thing happened when the last Kakatiya Prisoner Pratapa Rudra II was taken prisoner by Juna Khan (Mohd.Bin Tughlak) from Warangal to Delhi.  On the way, while crossing Narmada river on a boat, Pratapa Rudra II was said to have jumped from the boat and committed suicide.

Same thing happened when Chandra Babu Naidu, a marginal / small farmer of NarAvAri palle became a master of about Rs. 2,000 crore after entering politics.

Same thing happened when Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy & his son made nearly Rs. 1,00,000 crore, squandering the Govt. lands of the State of A.P., and distributed the acquired lands of farmers to industrialists on quid-pro-quo basis.

People elected one plunderer as Chief Minister, and another plunderer as Opposition leader.

There are thousands of instances in our history where people concentrated only on keeping their own gudams clean,  and did not worry about the society.

While keeping one's own gudamu clean is important, it is also equally important, to attend at least partly the concerns of the society.
About cleaning my own anus!

This part, I can assure you, that you need not worry.  I am unable to write more about this because there are two sayings in Telugu language which are very valid:

1.  ninnu gurinci nIvu poguDukOku, evarU nammaru.  ninnu nIvu tiTTukOku, nindincukOku, antA nammutAru.

Approximate English gist:  Do not praise yourselves, people will not believe.  Do not blame / curse yourselves.  People will believe that it is true.

(Lesson: One should not indulge in self-praise or self-abuse).

2.  Atma stuti, para ninda erugani nA vanTi uttamuDiki A nIcunikI kalipi sanmAnamA?

Approximate English gist:  How can you (or they) felicitate me who does not self-praise , and that nincompoop jointly on the same dais?

(Lesson: In this sentence, the speaker is indulging in self-praise and abuse of others).

Actually, the original object of blogs, is said to be to write about oneself, a sort of public diary.   If that is correct, there is bound to be some self-praise , self-pity and some abuse of others.

Again, we have two varieties, disclosing one's own name, and not disclosing one's own name.

There are some merits and demerits in each method.

Finally, though we can write a thousand pages or probably more about ourselves, one's own practical real life is the best message a person can give.  Thus our real lives become our messages.

Someday, in future, if we meet one another in person, probably you will see a demonstration of my lifestyle as a message, and if you are keen to show me your lifestyle as a message you will be welcome.

Anyway, I am not angry with you.
I may have to write another 10 posts to complete this Reply to you.  I hope to finish them, if I live more hours, days, months, years.

463 How wisely Dr. Brahma Reddy spoke and how foolishly Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister speaks!

Hindi: 463 Dr. Brahma Reddyji kitna vivek pUrit bhAshaN kartE hai, aur Andhra Pradesh ke vazir i Azam kitna AlOcanA SUnya bhAshaN kate hain?

Telugu: 463 Dr. Brahma Reddy gAru enta vivEka pUritam gA mATlADAru, Andhra Pradesh mukhya mantri gAru enta dArSanikata mariyu AlOcanA rahitam gA mATlADutunnAru?

A small open meeting attended by about 100 persons was held recently at AvagAhana Office (An N.G.O.), Arundelpet Main Road, Guntur recently.  Dr. P. Brahma Reddy of Jana vignAna vEdika addressed the gathering.  The subject was health and doctors.  Among the ten topics very ably and lucidly covered by him, one topic was about the evil of soft drinks which hurt both health and pockets.  Whatever he spoke was really practical and beneficial to the society, and even if 10% of it goes into the minds of 10% of the audience, both they and the society will be benefitted immensely.

On the other hand, let us see how Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu spoke in the presence of Ms. Indra Nooyi, at Sri City (Chittoor District), Residual Andhra Pradesh, 65 km. distance from Chennai:

...With the plant and the company sourcing strategy, local farmers would benefit as we would make it a hub for sourcing mango pulp...

Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu may not know, or knowingly ignores that fizzy drinks manufactured by Coca Cola and Pepsi contain Carbonic Acid and Phosphoric Acid, both of which are extremely harmful to health of people.  Phosphoric Acid takes away Calcium in bones, making bones brittle, resulting in osteoporosis.  High  Sugar content in soft drinks increases the risk of diabetes even in adolescents and youth.  Besides, studies on chemical analyses of the soft drinks show that they contain pesticide residues beyond the permitted maximum levels.

Mr. Naidu will not get any income from Pepsi plant at Sri City at least for some years to come, because he will give all concessions under the sky to the Pepsi Unit.  On the other hand, his Government will have to pay some billions of Rupees for Arogya Sri claims and Health Card Bills of thousands of people.

Mr. Naidu speaks highly of employment generated by Pepsi.  But same employment opportunities can be generated by coconut gardens which cultivate coconut fruits, and generate employment to thousands of coconut water sellers.  Pepsi will not set up any coconut water based soft drink manufacturing plants.

Mr. Naidu speaks of employment generated for mango fruit growers.  Soft-drink making MNCs will be more interested in making Cola drinks, other fizzy drinks, bottled drinking water, rather than fruit pulp based products.

Though at present for the purpose of getting concessions they evince interest in fruit pulp, basically they have least interest in fruit pulp.    After all, Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu has no time to go to Pepsi plant and every day and find out whether they are really buying mango pulp and using it for making real pulp based drinks.

Real fruit pulp based drinks are not as profitable as imported cola concentrate + water + sugar + Phosphoric acid drinks.  Real pulp based mango drinks made by MNCs will be prohibitively expensive than actual mango fruits and people will not buy Real pulp based drinks.   Even if they buy real fruit pulp based drinks at high prices, it will be nothing but looting of people.  Only corrupt Govt. Officials, cheating businessmen, landlords who benefited from A.P. Government's  STate Capital City selection and nouveau riche will be able to buy such drinks.

Ms. Indra Nooyi was reported to have said:

“...For more than 25 years, PepsiCo has been investing in India. As we move forward into our next 25 years, the commitment is stronger than ever...”

She should also have revealed how many billions of Rupees every year they have been repatriating abroad, in the form of dividends.

Ms. Nooyi was reported to have said:

“...Our team has managed to conserve more water than we use in order to make our products....”

This seems to be an empty boast.  The audience present there should have asked her to prove her claim.  Of course, Mr. Naidu will not ask.

Some diseases which we can get from soft drinks:

Fatty liver disease.
Obesity.
Hypocalcemia (Deficiency of Calcium.  Osteoporosis.  Low bone mineral density.  Bones become brittle.)
Type 2 diabetes.
High systolic and diastolic blood pressure.
Tooth erosion.
Increase in Serum Uric Acid.
Kidney stones.
Chronic Kidney disease.
Heart burn and acid reflex.
Heart disease.
Gastrointestinal distress.
Elevated levels of insulin.
Premature ageing.
Reduced capabilities of neutrophils to engulf bacteria.
Caffeine addiction.
Metabolic syndrome
Soft drinks have pH level of 2.5.   Low pH level means high acidity.  Eg. Battery acid: pH 1.  Pure water pH= 7.  A pH of less than 4 means high acid content in blood and is dangerous to health.

Do you want more diseases?

For those who want proof:

Hundreds of websites are available on the internet about the soft-drink generated diseases.  Some are Government sites and some others are sites of NGOs.  For a sample, here is one link of American Government's Health Organisation NIH.gov.

Ms. Nooyi will please disclose:

How much American Pepsi Parent Organisation contributed to Health Research and Medical Aid, for reducing soft-drink generated diseases in American population?

How much Pepsi India and its associates, franchisees are have contributed to Health Research and Medical Aid, for reducing soft-drink generated diseases in Indian population?  How much they propose to contribute now!

Can Ms. Nooyi give an assurance:

that they will not use High Fructose corn syrup (HFCS) for sweetening their drinks and use only fructose fruit pulp?  No.  This will be an irksome question for her.

Why did the shareholders of American Pepsi elect Ms. Nooyi as CEO?  Is it because Indians are great Managers?

Definitely not.  It is because they expected her to capture the Indian Soft-drink Market with a population of 1.3 billion people!!!
