The Organisors of the World Telugu Writers Conference, Vijayawada were reported to have said:

The third meet will focus on creating a feeling of togetherness among the Telugu speaking people of all places.


It is a known fact that the issue of State's bifurcation has created an uneasiness among the people of A.P. and Telangana.   But it is time that all the Telugus bury their differences and start team work

Writers can have only two classes: Bourgeois writers, Worker writers.  If a particular  writer wants to find out his class, he can find it out,  not from his writings, but from his actions.  Or he can use a mirror at 0.00 hours.   Linguistic affiliations such as Telugu, Tamil, Regional affiliations such as Telangana , Andhra are all imaginary.

Telangana Telugu writers forgot this basic fact, and like their other intellectual counterparts (lawyers, doctors, PG students, etc.) wrote awful things about unity of Telugu people.   They along with Maoists of different colors, C.P.I.,  went ahead to support KCR & Co. ignoring the need for unity of all workers, whatever be their region / language / religion / caste.  


Both the All India Parties i.e. BJP and Congress, many Regional parties of India (probable exception CPM & Trinamool Congress, for their own reasons) supported the Andhra Pradesh Bifurcation Bill, in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, and got it passed in a heinous manner ,  when the Houses were in a State of Chaos, ignoring the resolution passed by combined Andhra Pradesh State Assembly, the views of the Chief Minister of combined A.P. at that time that there would be numerous future problems,  brushing aside the Lok Sabha Members from the Coastal Andhra and Rayala Seema as if they were some beggars clamoring for alms or swarming flies. 


The subsequent utterances, behavior and conduct, of KCR & Co. have also demonstrated their nefarious plans to tease the people of Coastal people and the Rayalaseema devising ingenious methods everyday.  As far as I can recollect, none of the 700 Telangana Telugu writers who are (said to be ) going to attend the have written anything criticising their nefarious plans, or the utterances of Telangana MPS, MLAs which were violative of basic human rights of people to migrate from one place to another (actually across countries.  In India, at least across States).

Writers must have conscience, sincerity and courage of conviction.  Then then need clear perspectives of different societies and the forces which try to exploit people.  They must have a clear understanding of reasons for the 'rots' of societies.



The hearts of Telangana Telugu writers (there may be some exceptions, traitors in their majority view) will not change in the near future.   Or their mindsets may not change at all, like the split minds of Pakisthan and India.  In the circumstances, there may not be any real utility by harping on the unity of Telugu people.  Even Pingali vAri pEki cannot unite Telugu people.  (Of course there will be caste/religion based unities, business-need based unities, which is outside the scope of this particular blog post.  It will be dealt with separately.)




Of course, the Chief Minister of RESIDUAL A.P. (Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu), Opposition Leader (Mr. Y.S. Jaganmohan Reddy) may have different ideas, because they have political ambitions and properties in both the States.  They want sufficient number of M.P.s under them, so that they can some day rule Delhi or manipulate coalition circars.


If the Residual Andhra Pradesh writers have a real strong desire that Telugu should become international language, they should pass a resolution asking the State Government, Universities to take up


1) restructuring of Telugu grammar, in such a way that MACHINE translation of Telugu web pages into English and other world languages becomes easy.  For this, inflections of nouns, pronouns, adjectives, verbs and adverbs are to be minimised, to match with number, tense, gender.  That means case indicator words (vibhaktulu) are to be standardised and written separately from the words they link and modify.


E.g.  vADu + ki = vADu ki (instead of vADiki at present).

vALLu + ki = vALLu ki (instead of vALLaki).



2) Future TELUGU language should be written and typed in Roman script, dispensing with the headache of fonts, Unicode, UTF-8 etc. etc.  Learning of Telugu language has become a problem for foreigners, Indians of other regions, due to numerous symbols (vattulu, gunintAlu) running into thousands.  Once we adopt Roman script (whether we like it or not we have to recognise that it is the Unofficial script of this world owing to computerisation), primary school and High School drops-out can be minimised.



More foreigners and non-Telugu Indians will be able to read Telugu web pages, and Telugu books in Roman script.   Telugu writers can expect global readership.

Question: Is Telugu script, really the best or the second best in in the world, because some seminar in Thailand decided that Korean script is the world's best, and Telugu is the world's second best?

Answer: Telugu script has many scientific elements which accurately represent sounds.  But that alone is not sufficient to make it the world's best script. 

Characteristics of a good functional script

The script should be easy to learn to new entrants.  It should not result in school drops-out, because there are too many complex signs to learn and remember.  The script should not be difficult to type and computerise.  Keyboards should not become complex. 

Need for OCR compatibility

Above all, today, simple scripts with few fonts can become OMR, OCR friendly.  Telugu script is not such script.  On the other hand English script (Roman script) is readable even with 8 bit ascii methods.  Many English fonts have become Optical Character readable.  In other words scanned printed English documents can be converted into typed paged pages, made into good ebooks, edited, etc. etc.  In near future, Telugu script cannot reach these goals. 


All Government communications should be in Telugu-Roman script

If we want to benefit more from technology, we should adopt and adapt ourselves, our languages, to the parameters and standards which the new technology needs.  Hence it will be very apt, if we write all our future documents, particularly Government communications in Telugu-Roman-script.  This also makes trilingualisation of all Government circulars, notifications, laws easy.  Machine translation methods can also be redesigned.


People residing in Residual Andhra Pradesh, should not make their State an andha Pradesh (An area which is blind).  Linguistic fanatism can be as blind as religious fanatism.  Now as natives of Telangana (including Telangana Telugu writers) parted their ways under the evil influence of KCR, the writers of Residual Andhra Pradesh should choose and follow a progressive path.

*Re-writing Telugu grammar to facilitate machine-translations,

*publishing all Government communications, common newspapers, facebook writings, blogs etc in Telugu with Roman Script,

*shedding excess love of one's own language,

*encouraging Telugu speakers to learn as many languages as possible so that they can globalise themselves -- all these will be progressive measures which do not require monetary investments. 


ONE YBRAO A DONKEY'S OBSERVATION WHICH MAY NEED CORRECTION LATER

EVERYBODY in Residual Andhra Pradesh knows that only one particular landed caste is ruling this State of Residual A.P.   Leaders of all other castes have been made ministers in such a manner that they remain subservient (sEvak, anusEvi) all the time, just as Nitish Kumar expected Manjhi to remain his sEvak and anusEvi.

This particular landed caste ruling A.P. is very crazy about language, script.  It is also the same landed caste which is crazy about real estate, imported cars, super speciality hospitals, donation Colleges etc. etc. 

This landed caste dominates the film industry by manipulating and monopolising  theatre leases .  It is not, therefore, difficult for them to get a few hundreds of crores alloted in the name of Telugu Writers Conferences, Telugu Mahasabhas.  It can also mobilise easily some dollar bucks from U.S.A. in the name of Telugu people, for conducting 'jAtaras'.

But the problems of the common people of the Residual Andhra Pradesh are different.

HAL Bags Rs. 1090 Crore Contract for Supplying 14 Do-228 Aircraft to IAF
HAL has bagged a major Defence contract for supplying 14 Do-228 aircraft produced by HAL to the Indian Air Force. “Apart from these aircraft, the contract valued at around Rs. 1090 crores includes six reserve engines, one flight simulator and associated equipment”, says Mr. T. Suvarna Raju, Chairman, HAL. “This also reflects the trust of the Defence customers on HAL and we remain committed to supporting Indian Defence Services for all their needs”, he adds. 


The versatility of HAL-DO-228s are due to several in-built features such as highest fuel carrying capacity in its class (2850 litres) due to integral fuel tanks in wings, low structural weight ensured through use of advanced composite materials, high wing design for unobstructed view and radar coverage, wide wheel base for better stability, short take-off and landing capability- the aircraft can take off from around 700 m and land within 575 m- essentially required for operations from short and semi-prepared airfields, sturdy landing gears, rectangular cabin offering more head space for passengers and mounting space for equipment in case of special mission configuration as opposed to circular cabin, low floor level and wide door for easy loading/unloading of cargo, flight openable roller door, four wing hard points for mounting of external loads up to 1030 kg, optimum performance at normal cruising altitude for short haul applications enabled by the revolutionary design of wing aerofoil.

Had we been in Congress rule, probably this order would have gone to some foreign supplier from Europe or U.S.A., with unknown kickbacks changing hands.  Even that kickback secret would have had to be leaked out by foreign agency with leakages among competitors.

For giving this big Rs. 2,290 crore order to an Indian manufacturer, prima facie, we should give credit to our BJP Government at Center.

However, there is a minor hitch.  The Press release is silent about whether there is any foreign supplier pushing the deal from behind HAL.


The dornier aircraft originally had German technology.  With their technoogical assistance, HAL has been manufacturing them since some years.  HAL has even world distribution rights.

THIS donkey has a hunch feeling that a Swiss-German Aviation Company named RUAG might have done some market promotion work for India's HAL, during Davos, WEO Sessions.   But anyway this Rs.1090 crore is a very very small order, when compared to the orders placed by  UPA/Congress Governments of past notoriety.


Let us hope that everything will forge ahead SCAMLESSLY.

My father who is aged nearly 90, wanted to visit Simhachalam, and take part in the Lord's wedding worship  (Kalyanam pooja).   Though I am an atheist, as a son, I felt that I should fulfill his desire.  HE is at a sunset stage.  Besides, I can't impose my beliefs on him.



I wanted to get relevant information such as pooja timings, ticket prices, resthouse (choultry, satram) timings, resthouse rates, etc. from the website of the temple.

As a part of my satya sodhana, to elicit reasons for the site not functioning, and when the site will re-open to public, I wanted to contact the Endowments Department, New Residual Andhra Pradesh under whose administration the Simhachalam Devasthanam functions.

This website opened.  Funnily, this website has no "contacts" page.  What does that convey?  Do the Endowment Department Officials think that nobody should contact them, or nobody should be able to contact them?

This website is said to have been designed and developed by Centre for Good Governance.  If there was any technical snag,  this "Good Governance" Centre ought to have suggested to the Endowments Commissioner that a website without contact page will be like a cuckoo which cannot hear or sing.  Or did the Endowments Commissioner tell the Centre for Good Governance, we do not want a website of Good Governance, you have to design a WEBSITE of 'the best governance'.

Did the Endowments Commissioner tell the CFGG "If there is a contact page , so many people will contact us, it will be a headache, hence don't design that page.?"

ANSWER: Subversion of democratic traditions by Narendra Modi and Amit Shah is not a secret.  When Advani and Murali Manohar Joshi were sidelined, unceremoniously, they did not have the courage to speak out and resign from the Margadarsak Mandal which never met, of which they were made members.
May be because of young age and inexperience, Bora has the courage to resign, notwithstanding the consequences.  Of course, Bora was an alumni of IIM Ahmedabad, some fellow of Yale University (may not be similar to the studies of  our HRD Minister Smriti Irani), he might have thought that he was taking a business-management decision, whereas political survival decisions often needs a person to swallow arrogance.  Even in Corporates, bosses tend to be arrogant, throughout the hierarchial ladder.  Middle and Senior Business level Managers survive by silently receiving insults, and echo them to their subordinates without disclosing the source.

Most bourgeoise parties tend to be Corporate minded parties, with hierarchial ladders, and arrogant bosses. A person who cannot swallow the insults, if he-she is in a business management job, will have to hop jobs, if his qualifications and cv have some glamour, and if he-she is in politics will have to change parties, finally getting an image of turncoat or an ayaram-gayaram.

424 Should film actresses sit beside us if our Shiva worship on Maha Shivratri day is to become fruitful?

For those who believe in sacredness of festivals, Mahashivaratri is a very sacred festival.

The object of the festival is to approach and stay very close to the Lord Shiva, throughout the day and night.

But our politician cum contractor from Visakhapatnam, has splashed hundreds of thousands of bucks for a cultural bash at Ramakrishna Beach, Visakhapatnam.

One gets an impression that the politician's PROs are very efficient, that they sent all the required photos to all major English and Telugu newspapers and got them published at prominent places, in prominent pages.

All the newspapers have obliged him.  Whether it is paid news or free publicity, God alone knows.

One among such photos, is an image in which the politician was sitting in the first row, along with yesterday actresses and temporarily faded politicians Jayaprada and Jayasudha, with layers of at least one centimeter of make-up.

One derivation we can make from these ways of the world:  Mind will not get stabilised on Lord Shiva, unless there are film actresses sitting beside.

The patron king Krishna Deva RAya used to conduct seminars of poets, on the days he was not invading other Regions or he himself was not visiting prostitutes .  During one such seminar, the great Shiva devotee poet DhUrjaTi was recite him poetry from his book 'Sri kALahasti mahAtmyam'.  King found that DhUrjaTi's verses were very sweet.  He asked the other poets in the assembly: How did this unmatched grandeur of sweetness has come to the praiseworthy poet DhUrjaTi.

Poet Tenali Rama krishna rose and said that he knew.  He attributed the reason for the sweetness of DhUrjaTi's poetry as: The got his sweetness by drinking the nectar from the lips of the delicate prostituting beauties of this world.  Everybody laughed it out.  This is because, most of the poets of those days were regular visitors to prostitutes and suckers of nectar from their lips.

423 Bidders buying Yuvraj Singh for Rs. 160 million in IPL-8, may not be paying their own money!!


४२३ जिस महाराज ने युवराज सिंग् को १६ करोड रूपये को खरीद किया, उस महाराज अपने जेब से पैसे खर्च नहीं करते।

౪౨౩ యువ్ రాజ్ సింగ్ ను ౧౬౦ మిలియన్ రూపాయలు (౧౬ కోట్ల రూపాయలకు) కొనే మహారాజులు స్వంత డబ్బులు చెల్లించరు.

There is every possibility of people's money (deposits made by people in public sector and private sector banks) being diverted in the form of withdrawals from loan limits for industrial purposes, and siphoning them off to pay cricketers.  Banks do not have proper mechanism or staff with guts, to check the end-use of loans by big industrialists.  Banks can only pester small farmers to bring fertiliser bills in evidence of buying them, while Corporates at their whims and fancies divert funds for their gambling activities.

Else,what reason this buyer of Yuvraj Singh can attribute for offering him Rs. 160 million, considering that he was a discard of World Cup India Team.  If the bidders were going to pay from their own resources, the bidders might have pondered at least once, before offering such hefty price for cricketers like Yuvraj Singh and Dinesh Kartik.

Gambling with own money is one thing and gambling with public property is another thing.

Banks should wake up and supervise their industrial loans vigorously.

16th 17th 18th Century European settlers in United States of America used to revel  in cockfights and its associated gamblings.  They used to allocate some black slaves for rearing / breeding fighter cocks, and such skillful slaves were given some leeway of freedom when compared to other black slaves who do not have such skills.   My readers who want to study some succulent episodes on this habit of Americans of colonial lore/yore ,  can study Alex Haley's famous novel 'Roots' which is a semi-autobiographical account of the author, and substantial research has gone into that book, by Alex Haley who spent his time and energies on digging out the slave trade from Western Coast of NW AFRICA to Europe and United States.

Back to India, it has great gambling history starting with YudhishThira (Dharma rAj) gambling his wife, brothers and kingdom in dice, though not in cock fights.  In 13th C. circa Andhra Pradesh, we had another minor mahAbhArata involving cockfights among warring-brothers, which led to Palnati yuddham battle, and a catastrophe in Palnadu area (present Guntur District).

But, how can President of a country and its Prime Minister lose their wisdom and congratulate a team, of one particular sport, in a particular match?  Wins and losses in games and sports do take place in a routine manner, and there is nothing at stake.  Congratulating one's own winning team, at a particular moment of Indian history, when the relations between India and Pakistan are extremely strained, is in my humble view very very foolish.


The I.A.S, I.F.S., I.P.S.. Officers advising the President and Prime Minister should have counseled their political bosses appropriately, even if it may result in job loss or a North East Posting to such mis-adventuring bureaucrats.

South Indian Music tune (popularly called Carnatic Music) has well-organised and neatly structured classification system, when compared to Western Music, North Indian Music (Hindusthani Music).


North Indian Music does not bother much about tunes (rAgAs) of dual tone notes, such as two rishabhas (c# and d), two gandharas(d# and e), two madhyamas (f and f#), two dhaivatas (g# and a) and two nishadas (a# and b) in the same octave.  The Hindusthani Music simply calls such use of anya svaras as 'misr' (mixed) and entertain them, as long as they do not miss in melody.  But, there is no effort, to scientifically organise them.  

Salagam is a parent tune (janaka rAga), bearing mELakarta No. 25, which uses both c# and d, g# and a, while omitting the traditional gandhars (d# and e) and traditional nishads (a# and b).

Ascendant (ArOhi or ArOhaNa): c, c#, d, f#, g#,a, c'.  Descendant:  c',a,g#,g,f#,d,c#,c.

 Real life experience, semi-autobiographical.  Whenever, I go outstation, to my son's houses, sometimes, I carry my flute with me as a part of my luggage, to carry out my early morning practice there.  As my flute is somewhat bass, it is slightly longer than common flutes, and it naturally protrudes from bags.  Such protrusions, rarely other passengers bother about.  

Recent depiction of flute playing in one Telugu film Gopala Gopala in which Hero Pavan Kalyan is hero, seems to have generated some interest in flutes and dancing to steps.  In one railway station, a youth of 20 years, a student asked me about my flute out of curiosity.  He took it and tried to make some sound out of it.  Because of lack of practice or preliminary knowledge, or owing to an unwillingness to make sufficient effort, he could not produce any sounds.  He forgot to remember that Pavan Kalyan was holding flute and dancing as per director's instructions, and that it will take several months , if not several years, to master a musical instruments, particularly the INDIAN MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS.   Then he asked me:  

'How many days, it will take to learn flute?'

I: About three months, to get basic fingering.

He: Can't we learn in 15 days?

I could not reply.

I found him wearing a locket in his neck, exhibiting it conspicuously.  About it, he proudly said:  I quote his words, though not exactly, but approximately.

 'On the occasion of the valentine day,  one girl gave me.  You see, it has three parts.  The gold part (gold plated) , she said is herself.  There is picture of a silver blade on it (may be silver coating or some other coating).  This silver blade is myself.  Of course, this blade will not cut.  The third part of the pendant is made of iron.   It represents the people around us (family or society, or whatever the word 'others' may mean).   I too wanted to present in reciprocation, to that girl.  The locket which I selected for presentation went out of stock.  It costs about Rs. 500/-.  The shopkeeper said that he got 60 such pieces from his supplier.  All the 60 pieces were exhausted by the time I went to the shop with the money.'
