402 BJP should take responsibility for the loopholes in AP Reorganisation Act

Clarification

I am not a politician. I have nothing to do with Congress or BJP or any other party. I am writing this only out of genuine concern about the manner in which our rulers for their selfish purposes are making fools of people of India, (and of course people of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh).

Hence, I request my readers not to misunderstand me. My readers are free to bang me.

English: Full of pitfalls.
"...The AP Reorganisation Act 2014 is riddled with loopholes and the Narendra Modi-led government is likely to make amendments to plug them..."
"...the Act was hurried up at the fag end of the UPA regime. It (AP Reorganisation Act 2014) has many loopholes and amendments would be brought to check the anomalies in the Act in the Parliament soon..."

It is essential that A.P. Reorganisation Act should be changed.
Observations of ybrao a donkey 1. AP Reorganisation Bill was passed in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in 2014 after shutting up Lok Sabha TV channel, after effectively coercing the M.P.s of all parties belonging to Coastal Andhra and Rayala Seema.

2. B.J.P.'s role in this coercion is well-known. BJP prodded UPA rulers to push through the bill. Unable to bear the torture from TRS and BJP, and for its selfish political reasons, Congress went ahead with the defective ReOrganisation Bill in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha. BJP took credit for pushing through the bill in Parliament. Mr. Arun Jaitley, Ms. Sushma Swaraj, and Mr. Venkaiah Naidu bloated and boasted themselves with inflated claims of their achievement in bestowing Statehood to Telangana, without taking care of the genuine concerns of the people of the Seemandhra.

3. Mr. Narendra Modi was already a PM candidate when the A.P. Reorganisation Bill was passed in Parliament. It was true that he was not an MP when the bill was passed. But at the same time, as a key member in the decision making organs of BJP, he had a responsibility to oversee that BJP supported it only if the Bill was free of loopholes. He knew that granting "special status" and "special packages" to Andhra Pradesh would be objected to by other States, particularly other backward States. Their objections will also be genuine because many States in India are as backward as or , more backward than Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. Giving special packages and special statuses to A.P. and Telangana was not possible. For understanding this, no special acumen or IQ is necessary. In his election speeches in both States, Mr. Narendra Modi made lofty promises, though, of course, he did not make an express promise of special status. It would have been very honest and sincere on the part of Mr. Narendra Modi to tell his colleagues Ms. Sushma Swaraj, Mr. Arun Jaitley and Mr. Venkaiah Naidu, not to make false promises, and also not to drive Chidambaram-Jairam Ramesh-Manmohan Singh Company make false and vague promises, make vague provisions such as Governor's supervision on law and order in Hyderabad. Consequently, both NDA and UPA made false promises and pushed through the bill, though it may not be with absolute dishonesty, but with near-dishonesty.

Now saying that A.P. Reorganisation Act 2014 is full of loopholes, is nothing but sheer opportunism. All the four (dushta?) chatushtayam (Mr. Narendra Modi, Ms. Sushma Swaraj, Mr. Arun Jaitley, and Mr. Venkaiah Naidu + Mr. Chandra Babu Naidu) have a duty to apologise to the people of Andhra Pradesh.

Congress need not apologise, because it is already in the dustbin. Nobody cares for it.

Mr. Kiran Kumar Reddy was very much right, that he predicted that there would be serious problems in forced unamicable division.

(Needs to be corrected, to make it more acceptable.)

401 What happened to the study of DIPSAR on nicotine content in Indian tooth pastes & powders?

This is a Pharmaceutical Research Institution , run by the Delhi State Government. They have conducted a study on the use of nicotine in Indian tooth pastes and tooth powders in September 2011. Its results were announced by Prof. S.S. Agarwal, of the Institute. A report on this was published by India Today.com. Here is its link.:

According to the same India-today report, most of these manufacturers have denied that their toothpastes contain nicotine.

It is not clear whether DIPSAR has forwarded a copy of the report to the Government of India or not, and if so what action was taken by the Govt. of India on it.

Will DIPSAR care to take up a similar study of the Indian toothpastes and tooth-powders, to gauge the 2014-15 position?

Nicotine is an extremely carcinogenic substance found in tobacco products. Govt. of India is very particular about eradicating the habit of consuming tobacco products in India, may not wholeheartedly be concerned, but driven by WHO or some Western lobbying institutions. Why, then, it is not bothering about tobacco and nicotine in tooth pastes and tooth powders?

400 Should Bhagavad Gita be National scripture?

On the 7th Dec. 2014, Ms. Sushma Swaraj, the Union Minister for External Affairs, was reported to have said at Gita PreraN mahOtsav (approx. Engl:  Gita's Inspiration Festival), 5151st Anniversary of Gita, as under:

“When I read Gita for the first time, I did not agree with the concept of whatever happens, happens for the best and whatever happens in future, will be for good. But when I read it for the third and fourth time, I understood its meaning. This has helped me all through my life. Even now, when I am handling the External Affairs and the challenges related to it,”

"I am able to face the challenges as External Affairs Minister only because of the teachings of Gita."
     "...Only a formal announcement to this effect is pending. ... “The Prime Minister has already given it the stature of national granth by gifting it to US President Barack Obama.  ...”
"...psychiatrists should  read and prescribe the Gita to patients suffering from depression. ..."

Hariyana Chief Minister, Manoharlal Khattar is reported to have said:

“Gita ke sandesh ko jab hum dhyan se padhte hain , to jaisa kaha hai hamare desh ka samvidhan hi Gita hai. Gita ko samvidhaan se upar maan liya gaya hai. Kisi bhi desh ka samvidhan kaal aur paristhithi ke hisab se badalta rehta hai, lekin Gita aisa saar hai jo sahasvat hai (When we read the Gita carefully, as has been said, our Constitution is the Gita itself. In fact, the Gita is considered above the Constitution. Any country’s constitution changes with time and circumstances, but the Gita is eternal.)  ...”

Person views of ybrao a donkey, which I do not wish to impose on others:

1. What is the definition of a sacred scripture?
2. What is the definition of a National scripture?

3. Does a country require a National scripture?

The objects of Bhagavad Gita as per verses 18/42 to 44 (May be insertions by preachers), are very clear:

Gita imposes servility on SUdras (4th caste persons). What it imposes on 5th caste persons (today's word: dalits), is not clear.  గీత శూద్రులపై,  పై కులాలకు సేవ అనే నిరంకుశ ధర్మాన్ని (మహాభాగవతం కూడ అంతే నండి), రుద్దుతుంది.  ఈ ౪౨,౪౩,౪౪ శ్లోకాలు పంచముల (ఐదవ కులం వారు, దళితులు కావచ్చు, ఇతర అణగారిన వర్గాలవారు కావచ్చు) గురించి ఎందుకో మౌనం వహించాయి.  అంటే గీత వారిని మనుషులుగా గుర్తించలేదనుకోవాలా.  Reason: During Mahabharata period, there were too many outcasts(es) with nomenclature such as 'chandAla' etc.  They were supposed to stay in the outskirts of villages.  YudhishThira used to throw some food to chandAlas,  dogs, and birds, while performing his Vaiswadeva yagna.   Mahabharata, Aranya Parva, Chapter 2, Verses 56 and 57 deal with it.  Late Ganguly translated around in 1899 into English, almost verbatim.  In his translation, he has clearly mentioned as under:  కారణం.  మహాభారత కాలంలోనే గ్రామబాహ్యులైన కులాల వారు పలువురు ఉండేవాళ్ళు.  వీళ్ళకి చండాలురు మొ|| పేర్లను వాడారు.  యుధిష్ఠిరుడుగారు (అంటే ధర్మరాజుగారు) వైశ్వదేవం అనే యజ్ఞాన్ని చేసేటపుడు, చండాలురకు, కుక్కలకు, పక్షులకు ఆహారాన్ని విసిరేసి భోజనం చేసేవారుట.  మహాభారతం ఆరణ్యపర్వం, రెండవ ఆధ్యాయం, ౫౬, ౫౭ శ్లోకాలు దీనికి సంబంధించినవి.  స్వర్గీయ కిశోర్ మోహన్ గంగూలీ గారు, వ్యాస భారతాన్ని యథామూలంగా,  ౧౮౯౯ ప్రాంతంలో ఆంగ్లంలోకి అనువదించారు.  ఆ ఆంగ్లానువాదంలో ఈచండాలురను, కుక్కలను, పక్షులను సమానం చేయటం, స్పష్టంగా ఉంది.

By scattering food on the earth, morning and evening, for (the behoof of) dogs and Chandalas and birds, should a person perform the Viswedeva sacrifice.

This line of verse equating chandalas with dogs and birds, got purged in Sanskrit Mahabharatas placed on net subsequently in digital files such as Bhandarkar Library, etc.  We can't say who deliberately removed this line, from Bombay version while it was apparently present in Bengal version (Great translator Ganguly depended on it), they might have considered it offensive and removed it.   Offensive or not, lines cannot be removed from the scriptures.  At the most a noting can be made, that it is likely to offend.   వైశ్వదేవంలో, కుక్కలను, చండాలురను, పక్షులను సమానంగా చూసే ఈ శ్లోకం, ఆధునికంగా డిజిటాలైజ్ చేయబడి ఇంటర్నెట్ లో పెట్టబడిన భండార్కర్ లైబ్రరీ మొ|| వారి ముంబాయి వెర్షన్ లలో ఎందుకో తొలగించబడింది.  బహుశా, ఆ ముంబాయి వెర్షన్ల సంపాదకులు ౫౭ వ శ్లోకంలోని ఈలైనుని గాయపరిచేదిగా భావించి ఉండవచ్చు.  గంగూలీగారి ఆంగ్లానువాదం లో ఎందుకు ఉందంటే, ఆయన బెంగాల్ ప్రతిని అనుసరించి ఉండాలి. ఆఫెన్సివ్ అయినా కాకపోయినా ప్రాచీన గ్రంధాలలోంచి శ్లోకాలను తీసివేయటం, మార్చటం మంచిపధ్ధతి కాదు.  ఎందుకంటే, అలా మారిస్తే, అవి తమ రూపురేఖలను కోల్పోతాయి.  ఆఫెన్సివ్ అని భావించినపుడు, అలాగా ఒక నోటింగ్ ను చేస్తే, సరిపోతుంది.

Why Lord Krishna, divided only Indians into four castes?  Why did he leave the remain world untouched?

Why did Lord Krishna take up the task of dividing Indians only into four castes?   Today , there are thousands of castes; it is a different thing.

cAtur-varNyam maya srishTam

It is very clear that priests and preachers have tried to legitimize their own creation of caste divisions, by attributing to Lord Krishna.

Mahatma Gandhi, Lok Manya Bala Gangadhara Tilak, and many others have used the meaning of 'karma' in Gita, to mean 'duty' and, of course, society has benefited from their getting inspired by Gita.

But, the real meaning of 'karma', as per Gita, is not a simple straight "one's own duty".  It is one's own duty as imposed by his caste.   Fortunately or unfortunately, in independent India, people are giving greater importance to wealth in the place of caste of a person.   People are accepting marital relationships with rich persons, ignoring their castes.  It is good that they are ignoring the caste element, gradually.  But they are substituting it with a bigger mill-stone, 'wealth'.  Cure should not be worse than disease.

The reason for Mahabharata war was internecine disputes.  It has nothing to do with religion or defending a Nation. The dispute arose because of presumed insult suffered by Duryodhana, and gambling disputes between Pandavas and Kauravas.

Indians seem to have learnt this predisposition to gambling 24 x 7 x 365 from Pandavas, Kauravas , Yadavas (Balarama was a gambler), Vidarbha (Rukmini's brother Rukmi was a gambler.   Balarama killed him in a gambling dispute), Nala et al.  Gambling is a trait of Aryans.  We find mantras in Atharvana Veda, praying Gods for success in gambling.   21st Century Indian gambling does not leave out anything.  Stock exchanges, cricket, weather, elections, car numbers, matka-bracket, horse-races, card-games, what not.

Indians have to find out a solution for these evils of alcoholism, prostitution, unofficial wives, gambling and wife-beating (wife-betting?) etc.   Without solutions for these evils, having a National Scripture will be like adorning a skeleton with silk cloth.

India's priority today is not getting a National scripture.  Its priorities should be:

1. Population control.

2. Removal of inequalities of income and wealth.  For this probably Right of property will have be removed. Democratic Marxism can help in this respect.

3. Producing food, clothing, shelter, skill generation, indigenously, on a large scale.

4. Solar energy, sea-wave energy, wind energy, probably hydrogen fuel.

5. Confining religion to individual and family level, within the boundaries of home.  For this we have to remove priests of all religions and close down prayer houses.  Of course, Marxism can use their services for some other productive purposes, and provide them greater intrinsic job satisfaction, than what they are getting now.  Those who are in priest / preaching profession now (all religions), have joined that profession, not because they adored that profession, but because in a Capitalist Society, they have no real freedom to choose their profession, and they have to accept whatever comes in, or starve.   Had they been offered some medical set or IIT seat, would they have rejected it, and relish only priesthood?  Definitely not!   Pl. see point No. 7 below.

6. Reduce dependence of agriculture on monsoons, by bringing every inch of cultivable land under drip irrigation.

7. Develop a culture of 'dignity of physical work'.  Every individual from top industrialist to the bottom laborer should have a combination of physical work for 4 hours, mental work 3 hours, and intellectual work 1 hour.  This is possible only by implementing Marxism.

8. India is very fast in learning habits which ought not to be learnt from the West.  Example pubs, cricket, films, porno, excess alcohol and non-veg. consumption.  పాశ్చాత్యదేశాలనుండి ఏ అలవాట్లను మనం నేర్చుకోకూడదో, ఆఅలవాట్లను నేర్చుకోటంలో భారతీయులు ముందంజలో ఉన్నారు.  ఉ||  పబ్బులు, క్రికెట్, సినిమాలు, పోర్నో,  అతి మద్యం, అతి నాన్ వెజ్ మొ||.

9. The institution of family has become a bondage, to all the three-- husbands, wives and children.  The institution of family and marriage is to be substituted by better designed community families.  Modified Marxism can help in this.  Society and Govt. can take care of all children, and relieve parents from the burden of raring children.

10. Better care of aged persons, physically challenged persons, by the society and Government, as a legal duty, instead of leaving it to charitable institutions and so called philanthropists who are nothing but vultures.

It may not be correct to say that Constitution of a country is superior to Gita, or that Gita is superior to Constitution.  Reason:  Constitutions too are made by political parties.  Today, Mr. Narendra Modi and BJP have become virtual dictators with a sweeping majority.  Once they get appropriate majority in the Upper House (Rajya Sabha), they are capable of writing a new Constitution.  Indian Constitution, in particular, is vulnerable to frequent amendments, at the whims and fancies of the parties in power.

Ms. Sushma Swaraj has unnecessarily opened up a pandora box.  BJP leaders have a tendency of raking up non-issues in the guise of Indian culture.  Of course, Congress was worse in this respect, in the guise of minority protection.

Thus Indians are left between devil and the deep sea.
